- Sarah (8/5): -
- Benjamin (9/5): - great rooftop, very welcoming people, nice breakfast a bit hard to find for ubers/taxis, but then conveniently located close to Saqqara
- Pamela (10/5): A wonderful place to be close to the sun temples! - It is directly in front of the sun temples of AbuSir that are closed to the public. Great value, excellent food, comfortable beds and rooms, but most of all beautiful souls who work there!
- Wolfgang (10/5): Very well situated, comfortable guesthouse managed by very friendly people - Nice, comfortable room with very beautiful view to the pyramids of Abusir (I changed the booked room to one with pyramids view, what I recommend very much). Staff and owner are very friendly, take very good care. Also the dinner was very delicious.
- Fabian (10/5): - It's a good guesthouse with a beautiful view from the roof. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The Wi-Fi was weak, but that's a common problem in Egypt.
- Roxane J (10/5): Wonderful place - Really nice chilled atmosphere, owner is a great guy and is always ready to help. Rooftop has a fantastic view on old pyramids. It's quiet and I enjoyed that very much. Location is perfect to visit Saqqara and if you want to stay away from crazy Cairo I also recommend because it's only a short drive away. I will miss that place. Could clean the bathroom a little bit better and blanket as well.
- Amandine (8/5): -
- Gabor Jozsef (10/5): - Very good starting point for the pyramids of Saqqara and Dahshur.
Great accommodation, I definitely recommend it. The host is helpful, breakfast and dinner are plentiful and delicious. You can eat whatever you want, you won't have stomach problems, which is a big advantage.
Great view of the sun temple and old collapsed pyramids.
The accommodation is very safe, even if you are traveling alone you will not have any problems.

- Michael (8/5): - Quiet, peaceful and overlooking a closed pyramid site on the outskirts of Giza and a small Bedouin village.
Outwardly, the guest house has a nice looking appearance The room was a good size. The bed was large comfortable and clean.
The owner and his uncle were very friendly and helpful. Especially when I had a small medical emergency. He drove me to a few different local clinics to see a doctor. Thank you so much.
The food was very tasty for breakfast and dinner.
The rooftop terrace is spacious with 360 degree views. It is challenging to get an Uber/In Drive or taxi there to get to Giza or Saqqara unless you ask them to hire you a car and driver for the day.
The room I was I felt unfinished. There were no plastic covers on the light switches and electrical outlets. The desk had come off the wall and though promised to be fixed had not been before I left.
There was no AC/heater in my room so I needed a couple of blankets to stay warm at night.
The water pressure was extremely low and it was challenging to get enough hot water for even a short shower.
Sometimes the service means well but isn't quite consistent unless you keep asking them. For example, a horse ride through the abandoned pyramid site didn't quite happen because I wasn't insistent enough.
Also, because I didn't first ask how much dinner was I was surprised to find out that it was the same price of the room for the night.
- FARIYAL (10/5): Gem of the Nile - The location is beautiful and the hospitality is second to none. A truly wonderful stay. The staff go out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable......and the breakfast was delicious. Home away from home ♥️
- Khalil (8/5): - The staff were very helpful and friendly
- James (10/5): Anyone who wants a true Egyptian experience will not be disappointed - I have been staying here on my Egyptian trips for many years now and return time after time because the hospitality is second to none. The guest house has the best view anywhere in Abusir of the pyramid complex, the food is second to none and the host Esam can arrange anything you need from day trips to in house comfort. I always look forward to my next stay and Inshallah 2026 will be my next. Longer stay
- Stefan (7/5): Amazing High energy spot near the pyramids of Abusir - This guesthouse you visti for its location, just in front of the abusir pyramids and the temple of the sun. The amazing roof top terrace, and if you are able to sense energy. This place is an absolute hot spot to connect with the energies of Ancient Egypt. If you like you can visit the temples with a beautiful Arabian horse, A must do! There was a wedding very near, so it was noisy! Just Bad luck. The food is good, but the presentation and service really need an upgrade!
- Jane (6/5): Spacious, clean rooms with good views. - The breakfast was ok. The views are very nice. The hotel is very spacious. and rooms are clean. There is a nice area on the roof although you need to protect against mosquitoes. he location was pleasant although the nearby village is extremely dirty with the waterway completely choked with rubbish. Disappointing. Quite a long walk to get food or otherwise from this particular village and walk was horrible. If you don't like cats and mosquitoes well think again. No meal options for lunch and dinner and cost more than normal.
- James (10/5): - An Oasis in Cairo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After spending a week navigating the chaos of Cairo, I stumbled upon Serror Guest House—and within a single day, everything changed. This place is a genuine oasis.
Away from the relentless hustle of the streets, Serror offers something rare: a chance to experience real Egyptian life. No scammers, no pressure—just warmth, hospitality, and peace.
The location is perfect for pyramid exploration, but honestly, the real magic happens in the kitchen. Chef Mahmoud (apologies if I've butchered the spelling!) works absolute wonders. The food alone is worth the stay. I came to see the pyramids but left having fallen completely in love with Egypt—and that's largely thanks to being so well looked after here.
If you're looking for an authentic, peaceful base in Cairo, this is it.
- Benoit (9/5): Very nice stay next to Abusir Necropolis! - We had a wonderful stay at Seror guest house : we were welcomed very warmly and shown around the place, then we were able to go for a horse riding tour on their horses with the very friendly Ziad who took us to the Abussir pyramids; then we enjoyed a nice meal with a wonderful view, and same for breakfast. Mahmoud was really helpful and always happy to cater for everything we asked ! The room was clean and tidy, with AC and a comfortable bed. It was a very convenient location to visit Saqqarah, and very easy to find. Thank you !!!
- Omar (10/5): -
- Gemma (9/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Peaceful, generous and beautiful. - Everything and everyone. It felt like home. I loved it all.
- Joyce (10/5): - Fantastic room with good aircon. Room veiw of pyramids. Fantastic home cooked meals. Host organised a driver for me every day. Host was very caring and thoughtful when I wasn't feeling well. 10/10.
- Eleftheria (8/5): Good and affordable staycation - The renovation is really changing this place and making it more welcoming and clean!! The rooftop was a gorgeous view. The people working at the Guest House are very professional and friendly. The food was very very good!! The photos are accurate! Mohammed is definitely a professional, who speaks very good English, and will arrange everything for you (including amazing feteer for breakfast!) !!!
- Wouter (4/5): Disappointing - Setting in a quiet, nice spot overlooking Abusir They don’t seem to get many guests - so they sadly take advantage of the location and dependance on transport. Ridiculous how they deceive, decided to leave straight away.
- John (8/5): Very good - Unpretentious but absolutely caring at heart and with hindsight a highlight of two months away as not only did we experience real Egypt but they were also able to set us up for a local pyramid experience we will never forget.
- Jan (9/5): Superb - Very good egyptian breakfast. Relax & helpful owner and his wife. Quiet place with good tuktuk connection to Saqgara. Nice view from room and the rooftop and Abusirs pyramids which were sadly closed.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (10/5): Friendly and warm place! - Very Family friendly and they were very hospitable! I felt very at home and excited about the food! The comfortability of the atmosphere was amazing! Very kind people and the food was great! Home cooked meals and lovely presentation! We had parties on the rooftop over looking the pyramids and watched the view at night which was spectacular! No complaints!
- Alex (9/5): Superb - Great dinner, great breakfast, a lovey host and family who arranged a driver and activities for us to make the stay tailored and really relaxing.
To note: Abu Sir is not open for visiting without a special permit. You can take a horse trek around it however I would only recommend this for experienced riders - as the horse tours are not setup for beginners. However the view of Abu Sir from the rooftop is spectacular and worth visiting by itself.
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional - Rooftop breakfast with view of a pyramid... :)
We had food poisoned from India for our stay and Tlthe owner was very worried and caring bringing his special tea and even making breakfast at 630 with special food for our stomachs.
The property is a bit remote but don't be put off. It's aquiet and beautiful location. Facilities slightly dated but still very good for the region. We are from Germany so standards are different ;)
- Tanja (6/5): Pleasant - First day amazing dinner and breakfast
second day very reduced, but we had to pay the same price for dinner
Nice view from the roof terrace Room need renovation
Internet did not work, although we asked ( i only ask once, not my responsibilty to ask again and again)
- Nicolas (10/5): Hidden Gem - Such a lovely Family. Very nice location and view from the terrace. The breakfast was insanely well done!
- Invalid (7/5): Good - The host is really nice and welcoming The bathroom can easily be better, and overall could be a bit clearer
- Katrin (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms are very comfortable and from the rooftop terrace you have a great view of the Abusir pyramids. I felt very welcome and really enjoyed my stay. Breakfast is delicious!
- Wai (10/5): Pleasant sunset views from the rooftop. - Ragab is extremely friendly and helped us arrange a great dinner for a good price. Nothing luxuous but all the necessary things are here, the room was clean and comfortable. You can even park your car safely inside his property. I wish I could have stayed longer.
- Kit (9/5): Superb - Amazing food
- Monika (9/5): Superb - Ragab and his wife are very nice people, we felt very welcome. The food was delicious and abound and they really want you to feel at home. The very best thing is the big, big roof garden from where you can enjoy the view to the little pyramids nearby.
When it's cold, you can heat easyly with a little stove which works well. We missed some hook for clothes to hang , there's no chair in the room and the bathroom is quite old.
- Mohammed (1/5): The worst few days I ever spent anywhere in my life - The space has potential but the staff is horrendous They are rude intrusive pushy and horrible people to deal with especially the wife
- Maria (10/5): Waking to beautiful views of the Pyramids. Sun kissed and breakfast on the rooftop before a day of a - Beautiful location in family orientated guest house. Beautiful family who make you feel comfortable and as a woman travelling alone I was protected and safe. All trips arranged to Giza Pyramids and I was shown the real Egyptian culture. Ragab is a wonderful host and speaks perfect English, his wife Abeer is a lovely lady and wonderful cook. The location has great views of Abu Sir Pyramids. Its quiet and peaceful. I will definitely return again. Everything was wonderful.
- James (10/5): Perfect location, perfect host - Without doubt the best guesthouse in the entire area. Located right on the edge of the desert, under the shadows of the Abusir pyramids , the location is second to none. Ragab will treat you like a king and can arrange any excursion you require, he uses only the best drivers. The home cooked meals are fresh and plentiful. I have been to Seror multiple times and have never been disappointed. I absolutely endorse and recommend this hidden gem wholeheartedly.
- Yvonne (9/5): Fantastic view of pyramids Sakkara, food, garden - This was our second time here. The wife of the owner is a gem. Ze makes such a good Egpytian breakfast that I haven't had in the rest of my roundtrip in Egypt. She also makes delicisious fish and chicken dinners. We ate it on the rooftop which overlooks pyramids of Sakkara. U get that view also from some of the rooms. It doesn't get any better. The hotel lies in a silent part of Sakkara. It has a lovely green garden with loads of easy chairs to sit on. We drove in no time to Giza Pyramids.
- Caroline (7/5): Good - The owner is very lovely and help his guest as much as he can which is great
The rooftop of the guesthouse was amazing with the view The bathroom was a bit old and run down
- Anne (8/5): Very good - Meals prepared by the lady. The warm welcome A extractor floor for the bedrooms would be Handy.
- Thomas (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable. Great vibes. Highly recommended. - The location was great for visiting Saqqara pyramids and environs. The Guest House itself, a family operation, is very comfortable with an informal hostel-like vibe. Tea immediately offered which was served on a rooftop patio overlooking smaller pyramids. Mr Seror, who speaks excellent English, is very friendly, and set us up with a horse ride through the neighboring pyramids.
- Sawy9 (9/5): Superb - The place is nice and cozy, it was good regarding the money value also.
The owner is so nice and friendly and always offers help.
- Yamamoto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sameh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohamed (10/5): Amazing - The location is very beautiful, it is characterized by pleasant calm, and a very good identity with stunning views of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The reception of the staff is above excellent, especially the speed of meeting the needs of the guests. They're sleep early
The don't play a music
Don't have a swimming pool
- Nikita (8/5): Nice place to stay outside of the polluted Cairo city - The breakfast (and lunch if you order some) was absolutely exceptional. True home-made local food, very tasty and fairly healthy as far as I'm concerned. The host went out of his way to accommodate for my late arrival and even have some food ready. * The area around isn't very inviting to free roam. Any stranger will draw a lot of attention and in general the village is dirty and no much to see there.
* Bathroom facilities leave a lot to be desired.
* The blanket provided was very thick and too warm. It was too hot to sleep at night under the blanket and too cold without.
- Laurie (10/5): Exceptional - The Seror guest is the perfect and safe place to stay to view the Pyramids, discover Egypt, relax, heal, etc... The host and staff are welcoming and very helpful with anything you may need during your stay, they arranged my transportation to and from airport, which made it much fast & easy. It's not far from the Cairo airport. Next to Giza Pyramids with direct, breathtaking views of the Saqqara Pyramids. I will be back to stay longer.. soon! :)
From my heart and soul...Thank you to all at the Seror guesthouse for being so welcoming, helpful and for all the delicious meals,
~ Laurie
- Chand (10/5): A great place outside of busy Cairo, to calm down and watch sunset by AbuSir pyramids - I felt very welcomed and taken care of since the begining of my stay. I wanted to drop by for 2 days and finally I stayed 10days. The food was made with love, and I could get all the answers regarding pyramids and good places around. Very convenient location. The view from the balcony was amazing. I could catch both the sunset and Sunrise. I totally recommend the owner and people who run the place. Mosquitoes and insects were quite annoying during evenings especially. So it's good to prepare for that.
- Zbigniew (8/5): Very good -
- Grand (2/5): Very poor -
- Grand (8/5): Very good - Friendly, helpful, interesting owner of guesthouse. Historical place. Not far from Giza.
- Jalal (9/5): cheap and cheerful with amazing host family - the location was a plus because it was a quiet location away from an extremely busy Cairo’s traffic. the breakfast (included) was super good and so was the paid dinner. the host family are hospitable and kind. I slept very well as it was nice and quiet during the night. it’s quite distant from both the city of Cairo as well as Giza pyramids, and therefore will cost a fortune in taxis each time you wish to visit city centre or Giza pyramids
- Samadarshi (7/5): Good - Cordial attitude of the host Unprecedented power failure for long and very meagre water flow
- Sophy (9/5): perfect spot to feel like home experiencing Egyptian desert life! - The solitude of the desert, calmness of village, interaction with pyramids from room window. Also the fact every individual there feels like a member of a big international family. I liked the cats, the dogs, the owner’s daughters, the birds chipping in morning, the horses around, the rooftop and magical garden. The Bathroom needs some renovation, heavy smell from tubes, very typical in Egypt.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - At a beautiful location with supreme view of old Abusir pyramids, quiet, spacious, wonderful large rooftop with varied seating options, yet close to Cairo, Giza and Saqqarah, with superkind staff, and creative atmosphere, a place to stay and stay!
- Sophia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location. Peaceful. Quiet.
Great hospitality. Happy to help with whatever needed. Delicious home cooked food. Would stay again!
- Natalie (9/5): Ragab and his family made us feel very at home during our stay! We loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the gues - Ragab and his family are so welcoming and friendly, it is clear that they foster a beautiful community at the guest house which is very special to be a part of. He has repeated guests and friends from all over the world which shows how much he invests in people. The food was incredible and such large portions!! The guest house is relaxed and has many different common areas to hang out, and even a pool table you can use for free! Amazing views from the rooftop, reliable wifi, and very comfortable bed. There was an issue with the water whilst we were staying and it would turn off in the evening unexpectedly. The location is lovely and quiet but due to this it can be difficult to get around.
- Edyta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andries (10/5): Exceptional -
- Van (5/5): Will not recommend this I'm at the sakarra inn tonight what an amazing place , talk to the owner. - Absolutely amazing location with great views and landscape , breakfast was good if you are vegan (not for me) but it's still good .
Bed is comfortable and warm blanket..
Had a new Aircon. Extremely dirty bathroom and broken fixtures
Finishing touches is bad. Dogs barking at night .
Even for Egypt this place can do better.
I would not recommend this place to stay felt a little unwelcome aswell .
- Olybrius (6/5): A good place for visiting Saqqara Necropolis - The hotel locates in Abusir village near Saqqara Necropolis. My room and the terrace for breakfast had a good vew to Abusir pyramides. The room had some of basic amentities, including AC, the bed was comfortable, the bath had shower cabin with fixed shower. The place was quiet. The breakfast was good. The staff was helpful. Special gratitude to the driver Sherif who provided for me visiting some mastabas in Saqqara Necropolis. No deposit luggage. No TV set.
- Ignacio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miroslava (10/5): Exceptional - My name is Mirka and I am working as a tourist guide all over the world, after a 2 weeks business trip in Egypt I decided to spend a few days relaxing in Seror guest house. This place absolutely met my expectations, the atmosphere is very pleasant, calm, family-like. Peaceful environment and excellent location near the Abu Sir pyramids. I got a room with a view straight to the pyramids. The owner's wife, Abira, cooked fantastic local food for us every day, which she prepares from the local market. In the guesthouse, I met a lot of interesting and pleasant people from all over the world. The hostel terrace is a pleasant place to rest and relax, watching the sunset over the pyramids. I felt like home in Seror Guest House and I definitely plan to come back :) Thank you dear Ragab, all his family and friends.. This couple of days i spent there stays always in my mind and in my heart :)
- Edp365 (9/5): Superb - By far the most authentic stay I had during my two weeks in Egypt, and some of the best vegan breakfasts I ever had in my life.
The people, the dog and the house/garden were lovely, and so was the dog.
I truly enjoyed my stay and I was sorry to leave.
If you look for a warm and authentic experience where you can meet kind and interesting people, this is the place to go. The bathtub needs bleaching! Definitely not a fan of plastic casing under the sheet and pillow cover. Being dropped at the "perfume institute/ travel agency" (i.e.tourist trap) was not at all enjoyable.
- Nicoleta (10/5): Exceptional - If you love the nature, the rustic places, the simple things... This is the perfect accommodation. The family hosting is amazing, they are doing for u everything u want, starting with food, or they can organise ur trip to piramids, they can provide taxi wherever u want, even they can help u with everything in Sharm el Sheikh.. Accommodation, turist guide.. And the mango fresh juice, made in home.. Is amazing.. 😘😘😘 For me everything was perfect.. I m not the tipe of 5 stars hotel.. I like rustic places, were u can prepare ur shisha.. And smoke relax in the nature.. Drinking a hot cup of tee..
