- Dominika (9/5): Super baza do Corcovado - Warta polecenia wycieczka do parku Corcovado wraz z przewodnikiem Javierem, który doskonale wypatruje zwierzęta 🦥
Czyste, proste pokoje, z działająca klimatyzacją, miły personel
- Michael (10/5): -
- Merel (9/5): Nice stay in center of Drake Bay - Nice hosts, spacious room and chilling area. Kitchen with all utilities you need and nice breakfast! They even provided glutenfree breakfast for me. Walking distance to all the tour operators in Drake Bay.

- Ine (6/5): - - The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was fine considering the price. - The hammock on the property was not well secured. It came loose and I fell hard on the tiled floor. When I told the owner they needed to watch out with the hammock, he was more concerned about the hammock being damaged than asking if I was okay.
- We booked an overnight trip to La Sirena station, which meant that we had to be at the beach at 6am. Breakfast is only served from 6–8am, so we asked if we could have something to prepare ourselves in the morning, but they rudely said no. When we went into the kitchen at 5:30, there were people having breakfast prepared by the owner. The owner said this was because they had booked the trip to the ranger station with him. This felt very unfair because we had also paid to have breakfast that day and they were up anyway.
- The room gets extremely hot during the day, and if you want to use the air conditioning you have to pay 5 USD per day.
- They have filtered water on the property; however, it filters too slowly to provide enough water. The owner said it is because people do not refill it, but it is because the system is not adequate for the number of guests. You pay 6 USD to buy a 6L bottle of water in the shop in Drake Bay

We voelden ons hier direct thuis. Huiselijke sfeer. Heel goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Lekker ontbijt ( flexibele uren). Goede ligging in centrum van Drake Bay. Een aanrader!!! Niets

- Roland (10/5): Prachtig onderkomen . - Wat een mooie inrichting. Alles aanwezig wat je nodig hebt. Vriendelijke eigenaars. Leuke zitjes met fijn ventilators rondom. Goed bed. Nette badkamer. Gefilterd water aanwezig. Lekker ontbijt. Jammer dat we maar 1 nachtje konden. Zou zo weer boeken.
- Iain (9/5): - This is very much the rural jungle camp idyll that many people are searching for in Costa Rica but find hard to find because of the enormous amount of package tours and bound up offers. This was possibly the best easiest bird watching we did in several weeks in Costa Rica, sitting on our cabin porch. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the area was right on the edge of rainforest. Free coffee and hammocks on the dock also fantastic
Nada
- Nestor (8/5): Good option for a short stay - Location, breakfast and very helpful staff Humidity in room
- Kevin (8/5): Fantastic—a little rustic but so what, you’re outside mostly anyways. Also do the trail that wraps around the beach and - Javier and Daniella are great. He is an awesome tour guide that grew up in the area and is super passionate and knowledgeable about all the wildlife and natural fauna. He has a lot of energy which means you will likely see a lot. We did. I like that I can see birds in the garden and it is centrally located, near a beach and the property owner is also a tour guide that has done this most of his life.
- Alan (7/5): Excellent guided tour with Javier - Javier was an excellent guide for the Corcovado National Park with a deep love and knowledge of nature and respect for the huge number of animals he pointed out to us. We also enjoyed his bird spotting tour, and the photographs he took for us. This was a highlight of our trip. He also gave us advice for the rest of our trip in Costa Rica which proved very valuable. The hotel should have told us to book a taxi to the hotel from the beach where we arrived by boat. All other passengers from the boat were picked up but we were left on our own with luggage till we managed to get a lift with another traveller's taxi.
- Emma (9/5): Great place to stay! - A great place to stay in Drake’s Bay. Picked up in a taxi from the boat and dropped back at the end of our stay, even though it’s only a 7-10 min walk. It was included in the price. We liked it so much we extended our stay by 4 nights. Great kitchen. We cooked every day. Struggled to find fresh food in the 3 supermarkets though - slim pickings on fruit and veg. Everything was so clean at the house - the lady who cleans there daily is lovely and does a fantastic thorough job. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the ac was much needed. Eat at Claudios Grill on the bay if you want a meal out. Nothing
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional value. Javier and Vanessa are wonderful hosts! - The property was very clean and Javier was very helpful setting up tours and transportation to the airport. Javier is a guide at Corcovado and is connected to the guiding community so he will set up tours that work best for your schedule. The guidebooks say book the tours months in advance so I was anxious that the they would be full. I needed to just chill out and know everything would be handled properly. And It was. Don’t expect a lot of communication before arrival —everything will be good. Pura Vida!
Bring cash for the tours. Everything was as advertised. Know that there is a shared bathroom and it is located on a busy street. So it won’t be quiet and peaceful. Important to me was that it is located close to town and a short walk to where the pick up area for the tours. And it delivered. Very good value for the price.
- Jesk (7/5): I would definitely stay here again - I loved the layout and the home like feel. Sharing the bathroom with 2 other rooms was no problem. The air conditioner worked great, the fan was perfect. The kitchen was very well stocked and useful. I wish there had been screens on the windows.
- Brian (8/5): Javier and Casita provided a wonderful adventure experience for me and my family. - Javier was an excellent host and guide. You can really see his passion for nature, particularly bird watching. His night tour, Corcovado day tour, and bird watching tour were enjoyed by our entire family. The kitchen area provided a nice place to make meals or smoothies. Despite our best efforts, it was really difficult to dry any of our clothes. Part of that is the problem of being in the jungle, but there wasn't really anywhere to hang the clothes to catch a breeze or sun. Our room didn't have any access to a breeze so nights could get pretty stuffy.
- Lucie (10/5): Exceptional - Javier and his girlfriend are really nice and the room was cozy. Everything is nicely decorated and it's possible to use the kitchen and common areas even in heavy rain! Everything is clean, great breakfast, walking distance everywhere. We definitely recommend staying here! You can also book different tours with Javier.
- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional - My stay was at Casita Happy feet was great. Javier and his family make sure you feel like home. The place feels very safe and clean and the kitchen offers everything you need. The room also offers an A/C what is very convenient with the heat.
Also the location is very central but still calm and relaxed. It's not even 5 minutes of walking from the beach, a supermarket is in the same street and many restaurants are close by.
As Javier is also a tourguide he can tell you a lot about the wildlife and the surrounding area. I did a tour with him to Corcovado and is was really good. Also, he did a bird watching tour with me. If you want to do other tours he helps you with the booking. I would definetely recommend his place.
- Chris (8/5): Nice to stay, very friendly people! - The staff was very friendly, in fact that is the most important thing for us. That you can feel like home ;-) The water in the shower stopped sometimes.
- Emma (8/5): Charming location with experienced guide - Charming accommodation with very welcoming hosts. Comfortable beds and a good warm shower. Lovely kitchen and outside covered seating area. Javier upgraded us to a room with AC which was very kind. We also took a Corcorvado tour with Javier and it was a fantastic experience as he is such a knowledgeable guide
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Cédric (8/5): Great Guide - The tours in Drake Bay are quite pricey, but at least in our experience worth it! The day trip to Sirena with Javier was amazing and the highlight of our holiday. He is a great guide who still marvels at nature despite the years of experience. The trip was very enjoyable, and we were lucky to see so many animals. Comfy common area in front of the little kitchen. Clothes lines outside for wet clothes.
Good supermarket close by. No mosquito net or hook to hang one over the bed. There is AC and fans, but these don't work when there is no power and are not as reliable.
Be aware that breakfast is only included on the days you have booked a tour.
- Goffe-jan (9/5): Perfect place for a relaxing stay in Drake Bay - The rooms are spacious and equiped with an AC. The kitchen is well equipped en very clean. The owner, Javier is also a guide in Corcovado which makes it very easy to book tours through him. He led us on a great tour to the la Sirena station and gave us valuable advice on which activities to prioritise. The location is a bit further down the road at the bottom of the hill. Only a bit of an issue when arriving with full backpacks. However, you can arrange a pickup through the owners.
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (8/5): Very good - Kindness, it is next to a restaurant that does buffet breakfast from 5 am for $10.
The hotel has a nice shared kitchen and a place to wash and hang your laundry. The rooms are fully made non wood so they can get really hot (anyway there is a air conditioner for 5$ a day)
The door of our room didn’t locked properly.
The taxi driver recommended from the owner hasn’t been professional has described.
- Lynn (6/5): Happy Feet was ok for the money but the owner needs to update what customers can expect in the ammenities. - The beds were comfortable and it had AC.
The family room was private. The communal living room was very comfortable. The toaster oven in family room kitchen did not work.
The shower hot water did not work.
Listing did not state potable water was complementary.
The original listing did not state AC was extra until after we arrived.
Overall several of the ammenities were not as advertised or as expected.
- Bethan (7/5): Was a good stay - The owner is quite a character, I didn't know if he wanted to kill me or cuddle me! very blunt, but made me giggle. He organised some tours for us, they were great. Recently added Air con. No outlook from the garden, very enclosed.
- Isaac (9/5): Happy faces at Happy Feet - Really lovely stay at Happy Feet, would definitely recommend! Javier is both an excellent host and tour guide. If you're going to Cocovardo then definitely do his tour! The place is nice, AC is good and the kitchen is well equipped.
- Nela (8/5): Very good - Very cosy nice place. Shared area is very nice, you can spot colibris there. Nicely decorated, lot of plats and shadow.
- Melissa (10/5): Great relaxed hostel to meet people, good amenities - Javier and Vanessa were helpful and very responsive. We appreciated the shared kitchen, filtered drinking water, area to wash clothes, and hammocks for reading, relaxing, and bird watching. Good to meet other travelers. We liked everything, although we might suggest having some mosquito coils around the outdoor spaces since there are a lot of them in the area. The fans they provided definitely helped some with this.
- Szabina (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent stay! reat location in Drake Bay, nice owner who also guides tours. Room has AC. Recommended
- Kristina (8/5): Very good -
- Kristina (8/5): Very good -
- Mette (7/5): Good - We loved staying at Casita Happy feet. There is a nice laid back atmosphere and javier is really friendly and helpful. Because of the shared lounge area we got to know the other guests which made it an even better experience. Our best recomendations to casita happy feet
- Andrea (8/5): Very good - I really enjoyed staying a few days at casita happy feet. Especially the day tour into the nationalpark with javier was an experience I will never forget. With his special skills in hearing, smelling and imitating animal noises we could discover a lot of animals. Thank you a lot for this trip! It is not the best place to connect to other travelers, as there are only few rooms. But there is a nice chilling area you can enjoy relaxing hours.
- Monica (8/5): Very good - The vibes of the hostel are good They do not indicate beforehand that the water is not drinkable!
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional - Great space for visiting the area and as base for seeing Corcovado (which they organised as well for us)
Even helped us with a transfer back, couldn't recommend more.
- Tom (10/5): Fantastic stay in Drake Bay with lovely hosts! - Javier and his son were very friendly and welcoming. We took the Corcovado tour with Javier and got to see lots of wildlife. Javier made a special effort to ensure we saw Toucans back in Drake Bay after being unsuccessful in the National Park. Kitchen facilities were good with free filtered water. Room was comfortable and the air conditioning was fab (despite comments we read before, we didn’t have to pay additional for this but it was important to be considerate with its use) The only thing we’d suggest to improve is a sign out the front as it is in a series of houses and it’s hard to know which one is Casita Happy Feet from the street.
In terms of the tour our only recommendation is purely logistical - we would have found it helpful to get an overview of the activities at the start of the day/before the tour (e.g. time on boat, time in park, break options including the fact we would be able to purchase food and water refill and info on last toilet stop before boat ride back to help manage group expectations)
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeannette (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay in Drake Bay! Beaches, restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Very inviting socializing area with kitchen and hammocks. And Javier, the host, is always happy to organize tours for you, even including the breakfast. Had the pleasure to have himself as guide in Corcovado - something you shouldn't miss!! Nothing to add
- Thea (10/5): Fantastic stay and amazing tour. - Nice place to stay with rooms with airconditioning, a short walk from the beach and restaurants. The owner Javier is friendly and was able to help us with booking our tours.
He was also our tour guide in Corcovado NP on our overnight trip there. This was the highlight of our visit to Costa Rica. Javier is very knowledgeable and we saw tapirs, sloaths, anteater and many other animals.
Our drive to Drake Bay was hard without a 4x4. Would not recommend. With 4x4 doable.
- Frans (10/5): Exceptional -
- W (10/5): Javier was a great host and guide to Corcovado forest. I witnessed maximum amount of wildlife thanks to him. He arranged - not on the main strip. The patio in the back was sheltered and comfortable. Peaceful setting to relax on the patio.
- Robert (7/5): Good - Very cozy, the meeiting place or dining area was very sympathic. We got to meet the other guests and share our expriences. Javier, who we also took the Corcovado tour with, was very knowledgeable and I recommend to eveyone staying ther to book the tour with him. Just fantastic. Overall we were very happy with our choice and will recommend to future travellers. Well, the fact that we had to share a bathroom with 2 other rooms which were on the same schedule as us. Bit busy inn the mornings. But that was to be expected so no surprise. The place could use some sort of advertising or at least a sign to make it more identifiable
- Emme74 (9/5): 2 nights - Javier, the owner: he is also a Guide so we did tours in Corcovado with him. Lovely person!
- Ena (9/5): Superb - The mattress and the pillos were very comfortable. The common area infront is very cozy, with hammocks and there is bookshelf full of content about costa rica wildlife.
The location is great too - close to the market and to the beach.
You can arrange all kind of tours with or via Javier. He also reservs a seat for you in case you are taking a boat from Sierpe. The communication beforehand was a bit bumpy but once you are there it's all good :).
- Amy (8/5): Great budget option with best guide ever - Javier was an EXCELLENT guide and very sweet. I highly recommend him for tours of Corcovado. He speaks English well, works very hard and is truly passionate about wildlife and the national park. The room was clean. Nice communal kitchen that is clean. The shared bathroom was clean in the morning but got dirty throughout the day. It costs extra to be picked up from the harbor. We had to walk about 10-15 minutes uphill with luggage. However, if we had paid extra, we could have arranged to have been picked up.
- Suzanne (10/5): fantastic value, friendly hosts, great location - javier and Vanessa are wonderful hosts. Javier is A fantastic guide, we did Corcovado park and a night walk. we wouldn’t have spotted half the animals without Javier. The property is located near supermarkets and a short walk to the beach. the kitchen was well stocked and clean. fantastic value for money. I would definitely return. thanks for a great stay.
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional - The room was lovely and clean and had air con which was fab for the hot nights. loved the outdoor kitchen space and the communal areas. Vanessa and Javier were very friendly and helpful whenever needed.
- Kelsey (10/5): perfect stay in the perfect location! the hosts are truly amazing people - perfect location! amazing hosts! the owner of the hostel is also a guide to Corcovado and went extremely out of his way for us to get tickets to Corcovado! I really appreciated their hospitality. everything was amazing
- Katalin (10/5): Everything we asked for - Javier is an amazing host and an extremely knowledgeable guide.
We booked the Corcovado tour with him and he found an incredible amount of animals. He also took us on a short birdwatching trip around town and we learned so much.
The room was very comfy and the kitchen is well equipped (blender etc).
We wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we returned again! Thank you. -
- Bernhard (10/5): Exceptional - Great Host and Guide. Helped us with all questions.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. The room was clean and you can add an AC if you want. The kitchen is well equipped - you find everthing you need. You can reach the beach, some restaurants or a supermarket with a few steps. Javier is very friendly and helpful.
We recommend this place to everybody! nothing
- Christof (9/5): Had a lovely stay in this cosy casita with an excellent tour with Javier the owner to Corcovado NP! - Location. Good price-quality. Friendly host Nothing in particular
- Annemiek (10/5): comfortable, clean and friendly owners who know a lot about the nature, birds and animals. - Javier and Vanesa are very kind and helpful. Javier offered to go for a walk around the town and we saw many birds and a sloth, iguana and capuchin monkeys in just one hour!
The room and garden were very comfortable.
