Guest Reviews
- Sohan (8/5): - The scenery was beautiful
- Lindt (10/5): The place feels like you are really spending your time at a museum 😊 very unique beautiful location - The place is unique and beautiful. Not applicable
- Khutjo Omar (10/5): An adventure through history. - An interesting stay. Amazing facilities. The vintage relics are just so interesting and very educational.
I could not believe that I was listening to sounds that are over 120 years old
The Host Shawn is just a pleasant guy. Kind and welcoming.
- Sandra (10/5): Highly recommended if you’re are looking for something different. - It was really a very special experience to stay at ‘a Night at the Museam’. The owner took us for a tour through the place and explained that all the curiosities exposed there where still functioning. The wam hospitality was very much appreciated. No
- tshepiso (5/5): Fair - The place authenticity Mosquitoes 🦟 🦟 we did not sleep well, the toilet was not working properly, not good especially as it's a shared bathroom.
- Khoza (10/5): Excellent - Didnt have breakfast Nothing

- Mignon (7/5): Vintage glamping is recommended. - The novelty of old cars and a step back in time.
The farmhouse breakfast was really good and filling.
Picturesque property with three friendly dogs.
Definitely recommend the vintage glamping, it’s safe and secluded. Lots of bird life and sounds of nature too. Dogs are not welcome despite advertisements of being dog friendly.
The room I booked online was not the room that I was allocated upon check-in but thankfully after querying this, I was upgraded to vintage glamping which I can really recommend and enjoyed.
Hot water is an issue when glamping, unless you are happy to have cold showers via solar if it’s rainy weather or disturb the host to ask for hot water which I didn’t enjoy. The noise from the main road was an issue for me.
Check out was rushed sort of upset my stay a bit.

- Ashley (6/5): - Good to see the old stuff. The place is too cluttered,
- Frank (10/5): - That's the best. We loved it so much. Everything is so unusual and above expectations.
This is personal. Shaun is making sure this is an experience you won't forget. We'll be back. An escape here is a life saver. Silly question
- Dr. Kgomotso (10/5): I highly recommend A Night at the Museum for anyone seeking peace and tranquility. - The breakfast was absolutely delightful - simple, fresh, and perfectly filling. Shawn truly goes above and beyond, creating an experience that feels both thoughtful & personal. The coffee was a standout highlight; brewed on classic, old-time machines, it added a unique and memorable touch. The place is exceptionally clean, including the linen. I would like to commend Noma for being so helpful, swift, and attentive when shown some oversight in cleaning. I liked everything! Nothing to comment on.
- Kabelo (10/5): I will book again and again... That's a Nice Place to Be Fuelled with Vintage Stuff - Location: is worth a stay and value for money. It is well rounded by Vintage stuff, i.e., Old VW Beetle, Old Sound System, Like is a show... Book and enjoy...

- briony (9/5): Absolute Gem of Quiet Getaway. Plus a Museum! - The vintage caravan is simple but thoughtfully set up. It is set up a little way away from the main guesthouse so it feels super private. The lovely garden, pond and surrounding trees make you feel very far from the city and my husband enjoyed the bird life. The braai and table under cover let you enjoy the outdoors whether it's super hot or raining. The bathroom is very clean and surprisingly bug free and the outdoor shower is an absolute win. (There is also an indoor one if you're not feeling adventurous). The guesthouse pool is super inviting. The breakfast was delicious. I think the museum inside the guesthouse needs its own website to showcase how special it is. Turn of the century record players and film equipment in full working condition are mind blowing. Everything was lovely but things to plan around:
Shawn can't always give the full museum tour (which we got) at check in, as life gets busy. So chat to him in advance to set a time, if that's something you're keen on.
There are 4 lovely dogs and a pig on the property, which is worth knowing if you're wanting to bring a pet. Our dog (very well socialized and obedient) had a fab time, basically an extended playdate for her! (and we only saw the pig as we were leaving). Talk to Shawn about pets in advance.
It's a caravan so space is limited (duh). My husband is 5ft9 and he was comfortable in the bed - but only just.
Driving up to the property, the area isn't amazing... but once you're on the property, you're in another world and it feels completely secure. We preferred driving on Boland Rd to get to and from Jubilee Rd, even though it has potholes, it feels a bit more like countryside than Marina St
- Lesego (10/5): Home away from home. - The host was amazing, very beautiful place Everything was perfect
- Thembinkosi (10/5): - Everything about the place, and the care takers . Nothing
- Loatile (10/5): A breathtakingly beautiful property full of history with lovely hosts - I loved everything about this property! The property itself is so beautiful; the different rooms with their different themes are full of history and charm; the host himself is super friendly and makes sure your stay is perfect. I highly recommend making time for their mini tour of each room and the artefacts he has collected over the course of his life. And definitely give their breakfast a try. Not only was the food yummy but I got to choose which coffee brewer I’d like my coffee to be made in amongst at least a dozen of antique coffee makers from as early as the 1930s*! N/A
- Precious (10/5): Full of Fun, Laughter, and Art Museum!!! - I really liked how kind the staff were and how much they cared about guests’ appearance. The cottage itself feels like a mini museum, giving a great preview of what the real museum offers. Everything was just amazing 🤞
. The whole experience was filled with fun and laughter: The museum’s artistic decorations made it even more delightful. Honestly, there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t enjoy... Even their yummy meal from their best of their heart, I have seen and experienced humanity 🤗❤️.
- Thobega (10/5): Very professional, even in the communication - The owner, Shawn, was very professional, even in his communication. N/A

- Fredolene (8/5): - The name is a perfect description of the place. Beautiful ambiance. The moment you get out of your car, you really step back in time. Everything is from years long passed. We stayed in the Bell room, with old telephones in there. It is amazing how they have kept all the things in good condition. I will definitely go back there The bed made too much noise as one turns (probably part of the museum feel 😅)

- Xaba (10/5): Amazing experience - The most amazing, well thought of,collection of vintage pieces. From the themed rooms where one is dedicated to flim & camera items, to a music room as well as a room full of amazing vintage items like old clocks and type writers and stuff, just a collection of the most amazing items. The rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. Nothing at all.
- Brooklyn (10/5): The place was amazing as it was right away from the busy city and had a more nature feel tranquility -
- Zanele (9/5): -
- Bule (6/5): - The farmhouse with all its antiques and vintage cars I was very cold and couldn't sleep on the first night. A toilet brush and air freshener would have been nice.

- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Simpson (8/5): Very good - It was a second visit for us and we love been surrounded by all the antiques. From the antique washing machines which I'm sure took so much time and strength to use the very first fridges to Radios, gramophones, telephones ,sewing machines it's really something to take all in .The very first cars which fill the yard is also all breath taking .It's worth the trip if u uhave a curious mind . Would love to spend the day with the owner who has gathered all these treasures I'm sure there are a few good stories to be shared. Lol
- Shani (10/5): Would be amazing in a different area - Amazing decor. Left alone to do out own thing. A little impersonable.
- Johannes (8/5): the place was at right location with the right price - the location was convinient. there was no breakfast for me, the receptionist was ohk the uniqueness of the place
- Nthati (8/5): Great host. An amazing experience all in all -

- Keneilwe (9/5): Superb -
- Mano (4/5): Disappointing - Bad place smelling mouldy Mouldy I
- Nita (4/5): Disappointing -
- Refiloe (1/5): Bad - Nothing i just wasted my money Everything was a disaster its not even qualifying to be a guest house, Day light robbery i only lost my money i had to find a new place without refund, not recommending the place at all.
- Venita (7/5): Good - Awesome room exquisite bedding very clean except for the bathroom and my husband had to fix the toilet and it looked unclean. No working TV but it's more relaxing anyway. everything else was amazing.staff is helpful and friendly beautiful place interesting things to look at.. its definitely worth it if you want to have a trip down memory lane. WOW.. P.S I might be sensitive over the bathroom (its a me thing) Bathroom
- Adele (3/5): Average - Good quality bedding and comfortable beds, towels are clean and staff were welcoming Bathroom is not en suite, was mouldy and bath was dirty. House is left open at night - does not feel safe. Requested a fan for the room, was ignored
- Masego (8/5): Overall great stay, amazing staff and so much to see. - The overall museum. There are many things to see and marvel over. The shared bathroom. Flushing the toilet was also a struggle but eventually got the hang of it.
