Guest Reviews

- Helena (9/5): Highly recommend - sociable and welcoming hostel - Super friendly, sociable and authentic vibe and great communal areas without being a party hostel. The staff were great - so helpful with tour and local information, even if you didn’t book a tour through them. I originally booked a 6 bed dorm which when I arrived was full and felt quite cramped and hot. I asked to be moved to an 8 bed room and the staff were very accommodating and sorted it for me :)

- Deb (10/5): The staff was wonderful and they have nice excursions they will take you out on. It was a very welcoming place to stay. - Good location, easy to walk around town and to the lake from the hostel. We were in a lower floor room that was fine but didn’t have any windows.
- Jonathan (9/5): - Spacious room and shared space. Close to bus station which is convenient when it is raining. The showers feel small because the curtains are too far in and if you don’t use them the whole floor gets wet.

- Julie (10/5): Warm and inviting hostel in an excellent location - Lovely hostel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the kitchen - big, homey, and filled with everything you need to cook. The staff wonderful - helpful, patient, and kind! The hostel arranged a penguin tour and kayaking tour for me - both a lot of fun. The hostel is located right across the street from Bus Sur Station so if you are planning to travel here by bus from Castro or Puerto Montt, take Bus Sur! It's alos located just a few blocks from the shore and from many restaurants, supermarket, and cafes.
- Floriane (9/5): Très bon emplacement, les salles communes sont super agréables et la terrasse est parfaite pour regarder les couchers de -

- Sarah (8/5): - Right next the bus terminal. Cute house. Staff is nice. A bit expensive and you have to pay the IVA even as a foreigner... Also you can hear the street from the room. Common room cold in the evening.
- Estelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional - Located right near the bus stop and close to the centre of town, this hostel is perfectly located! It’s charming and has a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff make the place feel like a home and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and have the best time in Chiloe.
- Jeremiah (10/5): 13 Lunas Hostal...Excellent - I loved everything about this Hostal...The location was perfect-across the street from the bus station....My room was large and clean and sleep quality was excellent...In this Hostal guests have the use of the kitchen where coffee, tea and hot water are always available...The staff really made my stay enjoyable.I want to mention Richard who was very helpful to me,even telephoning the next place I was going to in order to confirm my reservation....I want to mention Ricardo at the reception desk also....Ricardo,from Italy 🇮🇹, was also friendly and helpful...This is a lovely place to stay...Top marks...10 out of 10 I LOVED EVERYTHING.
- Valentina (9/5): Superb - The staff is welcoming, prepared and kind. Super convenient location in front of the bus Terminal and 1 minute walk to the main streets. The cozy kitchen with the wood stove makes you feel at home. The building would need some renovation (it is humid and it is easy to hear flush or people speaking in the other rooms) but it is in line with most houses in Ancud.
- Gerardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruckmoser (10/5): Super place! - I liked everything about this place.
- Arin (9/5): Definitely stay here if you’re passing through Ancud! - Very welcoming environment and the staff are all amazing! The wooden interior and spacious layout with the balcony makes it easy to socialize and find personal space. Parking, wifi, very friendly atmosphere
- Jesselynne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosa (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): The best hostel in Chile! - Next to the bus stop, very clean, and super friendly I can’t think of anything
- Emilenl (9/5): Superb -
- Kelsi (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff with easy check-in and comfortable beds. The hostel is cozy with an amazing view of the water and it is literally across the street from the Cruz del Sur bus terminal which made it very easy to get to.
- Lee (8/5): Would recommend, decent place - Good place, clean, friendly staff, well located, not unreasonably priced, decent kitchen and bathrooms, nice social spaces, both inside and outside Curtains round the beds would be a nice addition
- Azzurra (9/5): Superb - I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hostel! The terrace was amazing, offering a great place to relax, and I enjoyed the excursion to see the Penguins. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a welcoming and friendly vibe. The staff and fellow travelers were incredibly helpful and made my stay even better.
Would definitely recommend it! One downside was the lack of power outlets near the top bunk. There was no place to charge my phone or even a small shelf to keep essentials.
- Dylan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meghna (10/5): Super friendly, welcoming hostal - The staff are so kind and helpful with looking into/organizing sightseeing options. the facilities were very clean, with cozy beds and just a lovely vibe all around.
- Jessica (9/5): Great hostel, lots of perks - We only stayed one night but this is a really cool hostel. It’s a shame it isn’t in another city with more activities going on as we would have been happy to stay longer. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The social spaces are really cool and there’s a beautiful garden and ocean view. It seems like they can help you organise lots of tours and activities - including kayaking in Chepu Valley which we were very sad to miss due to bad weather. Shower didn’t get hot enough, the WiFi doesn’t work in the room but is excellent in the common areas. The night we stayed the hosts (or non guests - I think family?) had a party and took over the kitchen preparing food all night (really from 6-12) which meant we felt like we couldn’t use the kitchen and had to make other dinner arrangements.
- Tommaso (10/5): Exceptional - 5 star hostel! Staff is amazing, friendly and nice. The house itself is really wonderful, with wooden stuff and nautical vibes. The first floor offers a stunning view over the sea and is nicely decorated. Rooms are nice and beds are comfy. In the kitchen there’s everything you need and is very clean, the entire place in general is clean and really taken care of. One of the best hostels I’ve been, really felt like home! Wish I could have stayed more Everything’s great
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Mandie (10/5): Great location and staff, nice comfy bed. - The location was great. Just minutes walks to the shop, and literally across the road from the Cruz del Sur bus station. The kitchen has great facilities, and they have a good system for recycling waste. The staff are all brilliant, and very helpful. They managed to get me on a tour last minute as theirs was full, and we still met up on the same boat (Puinhuilli penguins). My dorm bed was very spacious and comfortable, and lockers are provided. It was all good.
- Oliver (10/5): friendly and extraordinary helpful - very nice place. cool house, great location in town. staff is very helpful and friendly, kitchen is big and the living room has its charm, terrasse with oceanview.
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Sanin (10/5): Exceptional - They rent out good quality bikes. Not enough days to stay
- Mteny (8/5): Very good - Good central location, nice common areas, friendly staff who helped explain what to do in the area and booked the penguin tour for me. I stayed in March and there were hardly any other guests so I had the dorm to myself. I booked the female dorm which ended up being in the basement (low ceiling and very small window).
- Leigh (8/5): Very good -
- Iara (9/5): Would have liked to stay longer - Beautiful hostel with big garden, terrace and indoor area to meet others. Warm kitchen with all things you need to cook. The staff is super nice and helpful. Great vibe. The room could have another window as it was in the basement and a bit dark. But it’s just a nice to have to give it a nicer atmosphere.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy hostel with great staff who were really helpful helping us organise tours
- Kerstin (8/5): Very good - The staff is helpful even tough no Tour I wanted to do, was executed. The balcony has a great view and the atmosphere is nice and calm. Beds are comfortable Some parts of the hostel are quite old. No direct power supply at the upper beds. I expected a bigger garden where it is nice to chill.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy Hostel with a lovely stuff that was very helpful with activities. All very clean and tidy. Can highly recommend.
- Miroslava (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, great staff, great facilities.
- Myrna (10/5): Amazing stay - One of the best hostels I have ever been in. From the first minute I felt really welcome. The hostel is at a great location, just across the street from the Cruz del Sur bus station, and from the terrace you can see the ocean. Also, they organized many tours, that started in the hostel.
Diego and Lupe, and all the others working at the hostel, you guys made the experience really great. Thanks!

- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - I really liked this hostel. It's clean, comfy and warm and is in a great location. The staff are super friendly and are really helpful too - one of the guys spent ages talking me through how to visit the churches by public transpor, and they have loads of information about trips/excursions! It was quiet when I was there but the staff created a great atmosphere. The only thing that would improve it is if they offered breakfast, but that doesn't seem common in hostels in this part of Chile.
- De (10/5): The place to go - Super Nice house, very comfy, we feel like at home.
Staff very nice and helpful.
- Emilie (10/5): Exceptional - the team was super nice
- Verena (9/5): Superb - -super nice staff
-great balcony and garden
-well-equipped kitchen
-comfy beds
-good location -bathroom clean but could do with a makeover
-room door super thin with some cracks in it, so noises from the common area in front of it were a bit loud in the evenings.
