• Alissa (1/5): - Nichts! Katastrophe, völlig falsche Beschreibung der Unterkunft/Ausstattung! Das Gästehaus ist echt schwer zu finden (Google Maps leitet einen ganz falsch!) Gastgeber antwortete verspätet oder gar nicht auf Nachrichten. Mussten also Nachbarn um Hilfe bitten. Als wir ankamen nur Chaos und Stress seitens der Gastgeber - Kein freundliches Hallo oder Sorry dass wir das Apartment alleine suchen mussten, geschweige denn ein Angebot von Wasser/ Kaffee oder Tee (letzteres sollte eigentlich zum Zimmer gehören). Der Opa wurde dann aus dem Gästezimmer gescheucht. Richtig steile Treppe teils ohne Handlauf nach oben - mit Gepäck echt tricky. Die Katzen dort scheinen krank, eitern aus der Nase, pinkeln zudem auf die Kräuter auf der Terrasse. Nachts Geschrei und Türen Knallen. Morgens will Opa einfach wieder in unser (sein?) Zimmer ohne Klopfen! Die Bettdecke war voller Katzenhaare. Im Zimmer Mücken und Fliegen, Fenster lassen sich nicht ganz schließen, WiFi geht nicht, Duscharmatur kaputt. Nur Seife vorhanden kein Duschgel etc, kein Kühlschrank und keine Küche. Kein Parkplatz vorhanden.

Muy buena ubicación, en el casco antiguo La ducha y el vater compartian espacio, por lo que al ducharte se encharcaba y mojaba la zona del vater

• Bailey (10/5): Room with a view - The place was full of traditional charm and antiquity. Many stairs led up to our room and the view from the window was amazing. Our room was spotless clean and had everything we needed. Paoli and her husband were fabulous hosts and super helpful if we needed anything. Location beautifully central within easy walk of old town centre. Definitely recommend for location, value and lovely hosts ❤️😁🙏. Everything was perfect !
• silviachr (8/5): Top Lage, gutes Frühstück und Aussicht, urig - Sehr gute Lage, nahe zum Zentrum ohne zu viel Berg hinauf gehen zu müssen. Selbstgemachtes Frühstück mit Krapfen und Obst. Schöne Aussicht. Sehr originell eingerichtet und auch das Haus/ Zimmer selbst ist sehr ursprünglich. Klimaanlage hat gut funktioniert. Das hat uns nicht gestört, aber man sollte es vielleicht wissen: Sehr viele steile Stufen hinauf zum Zimmer. Mit dem Gepäck wird aber geholfen. Nur für Kleinkinder oder Ältere vielleicht nicht ideal. Viele Katzen, die auch beim Frühstück in der Nähe sind. Es gab sogar babykatzen. Für 4 Personen ist das Zimmer nicht gerade großzügig, aber das ist ja anhand der Quadratmeterzahl vorher klar. Es war im Grunde schon sauber, nur haben wir einige lange dunkle Haare entdeckt, vermutlich von der Reinigungskraft.

I enjoyed that part of the city best bc it’s on the side of the castle and lots of restaurants and “boardwalk”. The only con is the steep hill and steeper narrower stairs. Do not bring any more than the bare essentials bc it’s a hard climb.

• Sze Man (9/5): Nice traditional house with cats around - The view is good. It is an old stone house with traditional decoration. We arrived quite early and don’t expect we can check in. The host allow us to check-in in the morning which is perfect. She is still working on the cleaning. There are some stairs to climb. The hosts don’t speak English.

• alessia (9/5): Magnifique guest house - L'emplacement de cet guest house était juste parfait !!! On ne peut pas être plus central !!! L’hote est super gentil..on a été extrêmement bien accueilli !! Le petit déjeuner fait maison était magnifique et très goûteux !!! Étant donné que l’appartement est dans son jus et qu'il y a pas mal de tapis , de coussins, rideaux ... mon fils qui est allergique aux acariens.. ce n'était pas le top du top pour luî.

• Rob (5/5): Don’t stay if you are elergic to cats. There are many!!! - Friendly welcome and the lady was very kind. Beds were comfortable. Well situated in the old town for nearby walks and view of the area. Poor directions to the accommodation and had to call. Also the bathroom is very old and becomes a wet room with shower water everywhere. Can only be used by one person so the toilet is not useable.
• Michaela Cabrera (8/5): Amazing view from our room, sweet host, sunny breakfast - Excellent location in the heart of Mangalem quarter just beside the mosque, with some rooms looking out onto the Gorica houses across the river. The rooms have lots of character - traditional and quirky. Polly is a sweet, lovely host. The breakfast was nice, served on the sunny terrace. We didn't get the room we reserved on our first night because a previous guest didn't check out, but Polly offered a room the same size, just not with the same view and light. Bathrooms were quite small.

• KG (8/5): Apartment in the heart of the village - It is funky room with some vintage touch, in the heart of an old village, The view from the balcony is nice There were no hot water in shower, in general bathroom is very old and outdated, same as the rooms. To reach the place u need to climb quite a lot of steps! Car parking is also a bit far from the house, and is a normal free public space, on first come first serve basics. Guest is not speaking English so communications is tough, and the main thing is the LOUD music which comes from near by restaurants until 11pm.
• Carla (8/5): Heerlijk verblijf in huiselijke guesthouse op toplocatie in Mangalem - Fijn guesthouse op centrale locatie in Mangalem. Gastvrouw spreekt geen Engels maar geeft warm welkom en je voelt je snel thuis. Heerlijk verblijf, zeker aangeraden! Heel de wijk bestaat uit trappen maar het guesthouse zelf heeft ook een steile trap (60 treden) naar de bovenste kamers. Voor ons geen bezwaar maar met een koffer van 20 kilo wordt het een workout en voor mensen slecht ter been onmogelijk. Ook met kleine kinderen zou ik m spannend vinden.

• Rosi (8/5): - Guesthouse Alvaro Kadiu ligt op een centrale plek in Berat in de authentieke woning van Pauli.De faciliteiten zijn eenvoudig maar het heerlijke ontbijt en het fantastische uitzicht zijn heerlijk.Pauli was hartelijk en maakte heerlijke koffie.Wij raden dit verblijf zeker aan. De steile trap naar de kamer is lastig als je slecht ter been bent.

• Valeria (9/5): - Esperienza autentica nel cuore di Berat, una camera arredata secondo lo stile tradizionale con una vista magnifica sui tetti e sul minareto. Ci sono tante scale da fare, ma fanno parte del fascino caratteristico della casa. Super colazione tipica servita in terrazza preparata e servita dalla padrona di casa. La doccia del bagno non è separata e il bagno non ha finestre, ma l'acqua è sempre calda, basta avere un po' di accortezza. Molto apprezzata la presenza del condizionatore.

In all that cold outside we had a very nice warm sleep. And you had a great view from there. The owner was a very nice lady that we enjoyed talking with. The location of the place was also 10/10 cause you are basically sleeping in one of the old protected houses in the center, nothing was far. We had an amazing time there! Might come again :)

• Audrey (1/5): Logement inconfortable et très différent de l'annonce Booking. Je déconseille fortement. - Concernant le logement, pas grand chose, même la "vue" n'est pas ouf puisqu'on ne voit quasiment rien depuis notre chambre. Cela dit Berat et le quartier sont très jolis. Ha si... les petites tortues dans le jardin c'était drôle. - Nuit horrible : La télé s'est allumée seule en pleine nuit, ensuite il y a eu des gens qui rigolaient très fort dehors, puis des chiens qui aboyaient tôt le matin. Les fenêtres (certaines ne ferment même pas) et les murs ne sont pas isolés, on entend tout, le froid et la chaleur passent. - Ce qui n'est pas mentionné dans l'annonce : des immenses escaliers étroits pour accéder aux chambres, des chats partout même sur les lits de la chambre que nous avions réservés et payés (nous sommes allergiques, merci). Gros manque de communication en amont sur ces sujets. - Pas de papier toilette ni mouchoirs, les toilettes fuyaient, la salle de bain est inconfortable (pas de cabine de douche, aucun endroit pour suspendre sa serviette ou poser des affaires). il y a un trou de 40cm, caché par un rideau et des chiffons, on ne sait pas vraiment qui vit derrière. Après avoir laissé deux messages et tenté d'appeler (c'est ça la réception ouverte 24h/24 ?) on a finalement eu un rouleau de PQ; sauf que ça faisait déjà 24h qu'on était arrivé, on a dû aller en acheter avant car on avait épuisé notre stock de mouchoirs à cause de nos allergies aux poils d'animaux. - Le fait que l'annonce soit ne corresponde pas à la réalité : personne ne parle anglais, pas de réception 24h/24, pas chaussons neufs/jetables, pas de table à manger ni machine à café, pas de service de ménage quotidien (ni même mensuel je pense car la chambre était remplie de poussière même sur le dossier du canapé) ; pas de service d'étage ni minibar ni de bar tout court, pas d'ustensiles de cuisine ; il y a bien une machine à laver, mais elle est commune et payante en supplément (5€), pas de parking gratuit disponible, il faut se garer dans la rue. J'avais réservé ce logement pour faire la lessive de mes enfants et être autonome en cuisine, ça a ruiné nos plans.
• Yoichi (8/5): ベラトをゆっくりして過ごせました。 - ロケーションは最高でした。千の窓の中の建物に泊まる事ができました。オーナーの奥さんが大変親切で、宿に着く際にはバスターミナルから乗ったタクシーの運転手が電話をしてくれたところ道まで迎えに出てくれてキャリーケースを持って坂を上がってくれました。帰りは、タクシーを呼びに行ってくれてご主人がキャリーケースを運んでくれました。大変お世話になりました。 設備は、サイトには冷蔵庫や洗濯機があるように書いてあったが、洗濯はオーナーが有料でしてくれる事、冷蔵庫は冷えた飲み物を販売してくれるような感じでした。リーズナブルなので今回は我々は納得して泊まりましたが、勘違いすらような表記は注意が必要にやりますね。

• Mariusz (10/5): - We had really great stay at Alvaro Kadiu apartment. It is located in old historical house and has all pros and cons of such location. Our kids were exited playing with turtles and cat and didn't want to leave the place😉 The breakfast was fantastic with amazing view on river, minaret of the mosque and Berat city, highly recommend however the standard of the apartment is rather basic.

• Sabine (10/5): Geheimtipp - Es war einfach zauberhaft ❤️ Ein echter Geheimtipp! Mit viel Herz, sehr authentisch und einfach unvergesslich! Wir haben uns seeeehr wohl gefühlt, Das Frühstück konnten wir bei schönem Wetter mit einer tollen Aussicht auf der Terrasse genießen. Die Unterkunft befindet sich im Herzen von Berat und ist sehr zentral gelegen. Poli die Gastgeberin managt den Laden und ist uns gleich am ersten Tag ans Herz gewachsen. Wir kommen wieder liebe Poli . Vielen Dank! 😘

Расположение отличное, близко есть рестораны и главные достопримечательности. Нет парковки и даже не возможно остановиться около дороги чтобы выгрузить вещи. Хозяйка нам подсказала где запарковать машину на платной парковке, но вещи пришлось нести прям от туда.
• Isaac (6/5): Alojamiento muy bien situado, pero podrían mejorar algunos detalles. Tienen gatos mansos!! - -La ubicación. Para estar en la zona antigua de Mangalem (con sus callejuelas reviradas), el sitio está suficientemente cerca de la parte baja como para que acceder con maletas sea tolerable. No quiero ni imaginar qué debe ser llegar a las casas de arriba de la parte vieja. -Lo pintoresco del alojamiento, la habitación como tal no tenía vistas, pero la parte de arriba donde se desayunaba sí, la decoración era muy particular. -La cama era cómoda. -La ducha daba agua caliente y con buena presión. -Había gatos mansos y tortugas para jugar (pero esto ya es independiente del alojamiento) Muchos detalles de la habitación en sí podrían mejorar muchísimo de manera fácil: -Había una neverita (de los años 60), que estaba un poco destartalada... Enfriar enfriaba pero al rato soltaba agua por todos lados, y casi nos la lía con las alfombras. Lo vimos a tiempo y la desconectamos. -El cuarto de baño de la habitación que nos tocó es especialmente ESPARTANO, con un mero espejo (destartalado) como toda decoración del mismo. No había ni una estantería para poner nada (el espejo tenía antiguas estanterías en el pasado, pero sus soportes estaban rotos, así como su bombilla). Parecía un espejo que te puedes encontrar en la basura y lo aprovechas. Se puede ir a buscar un aire rústico o tradicional para decorar, pero no hace falta llegar a esto. -El baño era estilo Albanés, (con la puerta de cristal traslúcido, y con la ducha sin mampara que lo deja todo inundado. 0 queja uno se acostumbra después de varios días), pero en este caso al ser tan pequeño el cuarto, era imposible no liarla mucho, ya que no había goma para limpiar luego. A todo eso había un enchufe de 220V a 10 cm de la toma de la ducha!! Esto sí es vivir al límite!! -El baño también podría estar más pulido (a nivel de limpieza). -El marco de la ventana del cuarto de baño no ajusta con la pared, con lo que entra el aire incluso con la ventana cerrada. Ahora en verano esto no es tan problemático (o bueno sí, por mosquitos), pero en invierno debe ser una nevera. -Los enchufes en la habitación estaban en sitios absurdos y poco prácticos (nunca cerca de la cama, por qué?) -El wifi no funcionaba, y no es que tuviera poca cobertura, es que directamente no funcionaba, no daba internet. Para dar wifi así, mejor no se da. -A veces no había nadie a la vista para comunicar alguna duda. Fuera de las horas del check-in, sólo estaba la dueña de la casa a la hora del desayuno (hubo algún malentendido a la hora de comunicar que queríamos desayuno, pero al final con lenguaje de signos pudimos resolverlo).

Loved the family or tortoise. Felt at home. Lots of stairs, but the lady actually kindly helps you with your cases. The tv didn't seem to work. Flaky Internet at night. My husband isn't a cat lover, and the guesthouse has many.
• Dafina (8/5): - Die Besitzerin ist überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie hat eine Dreiviertel Stunde aufgewendet, um für uns einen Parkplatz in der Nähe zu sichern und uns gute Empfehlungen fürs Essen gegeben. Das Anwesen ist super schön und liebevoll und traditionell eingerichtet. Man hat einen tollen Blick auf die Altstadt. Wir selbst haben das Frühstück vor Ort nicht in Anspruch genommen, doch bei anderen Gästen gesehen, dass es sehr gute Portionen waren und auch vielfältig gestaltet wurde. Es hat im Zimmer etwas nach Rauch gerochen und aus dem Bad hat es manchmal etwas gestunken. Da die Dusche offen ist, wird auch das ganze Bad nach dem duschen nass. Allerdings ist das in Albanien sehr oft der Fall.

Definetely we reccomend this property. Unfortunately the room was dusty and the bathroom not very comfortable. Not ideally for more than 2 days.

A localização é perfeita, no centro da cidade velha. Optamos por ter café da manhã e a Poli nos providenciava algo gostoso, todos os dias. Ficamos num quarto duplo, com duas camas, no alto do alto e, com uma vista, excepcional. Detalhe, nossas pernas ficaram mais firmes, de subir tantas escadas. Adoramos nossos dias. • Rafał (10/5): - Pokój jest uroczy, w starej części Beratu. Niesamowita atmosfera i bardzo miła właścicielka która przywitała nas tradycyjnym poczęstunkiem albańskim. Śniadanie podane pod drzewem figowym, zrobione przez właścicielkę, również tradycyjne, domowe i jeszcze pyszna kawa po turecku ! naprawdę warto zatrzymać się w Guesthouse Alvaro Kadiu - poczujesz tu lokalny klimat :)
