• Antonia Jara (10/5): Un lugar al que volveríamos felices - Desde el momento en que llegamos nos hicieron sentir muy cómodas y bien recibidas. Todo el personal fue muy amable y cercano. El hostel es realmente hermoso y la vista desde la terraza es muy linda. La habitación y el baño estaban impecablemente limpios. Los desayunos fueron espectaculares: todo muy rico y preparado con dedicación. También agradecemos mucho la buena disposición que tuvieron al permitir que mi hermano, a quien no veíamos hace meses, pudiera visitarnos en el hostel y compartir un ratito con nosotras en el living. Fue un gesto muy especial que valoramos muchísimo 🥹 Sin duda volveremos 🤎

• Patricia (8/5): Palofito pleasure - The old palafito, with its terrace overlooking the water. The comfortable beds, and the lovely communal areas. Breakfast was superb! There was no-one ever at reception during our 2 day stay, so no way of asking any questions about local buses, etc. It's a long, uphill walk into town, and it would helpful to know you can flag down a bus as it crosses the bridge. Maybe an information book? On our 2nd day, we had no hot water, but again, no one to pop down and speak to.

• Katrin (10/5): Una muy buen hostal. - Área común (living-área cocina-comedor y terraza) muy agradable. Camas muy cómodas. Restaurantes cercanos. Falta de estacionamiento. Extracción de olores en cocina, cuando alguien prepara alimentos con más olor como pescados fritos.

• Cristina (9/5): - Las personas que nos recibieron y atendieron fueron muy amables y pudieron acomodar el servicio de desayuno a nuestros horarios. Dado que hay tanta oferta turística, es importante conversar con las personas del hostel quienes nos guiaron sobre los lugares para visitar y dónde obtener información. Poder usar la cocina y la terraza fueron aspectos clave. ¡Recomiendo este hospedaje! El colchón de la cama es un poco blanco por lo que cuesta trabajo acostumbrarse a él. El cuarto es un poco oscuro, quizá una lámpara o dos extra podrían ser útiles.

• Ursula (9/5): Schöne, originelle Unterkunft im Palafito!!! - Die Lage war super, das Zimmer sehr sauber und auch der allgemeine Bereich sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das tollste war aber die Terasse, ein richtiges Palafito eben. Auch das Frühstück war gut. Das Frühstück war mit 8.30 Uhr etwas spät angesetzt, vor allem wenn man wie wir mit dem Bus unterwegs war und deshalb für Ausflüge zeitlich nicht so flexibel.

• Christine (10/5): Buena estancia en el Palafito !! - La experiencia de dormir en un palafito , algo único !! Habitacion grande ( con vista al mar), buen desayuno, que pudimos tomar en la terraza , muy agradable . Hacen un pan BUENISSIMO !!!!Es un hostal pero con baño en las habitaciones . Se puede ir andando al centro ( subiendo una buena cuesta pero que se hace corto viendo las vistas maravillosas). Una opción muy buena para visitar Castro y los alrededores . Tuvimos que cambiar de habitación por overbooking ! No entendimos porque era más fácil pasar la gente que entraba en la habitación que nos dieron y nosotros quedarnos en la nuestra , en vez de hacernos cambiar de habitacion….. Se oye un poco el ruido de la carretera en frente , pero algo que no impide dormir. Llego una pareja con 2 niños gritando , saltando , y se acabó la paz del hotel !!!! Por supuesto los padres no les dijeron nada , pero las Señoras del hotel sí, tendrían que hacer respetar la tranquilidad de los otros clientes !

• perez (6/5): Esperaba más - La ubicación, vista y amabilidad del personal del desayuno No había televisión. Poca presión del agua de ducha y salía agua helada entre medio. Mala acústica. Cama incómodas. No cambiaban las toallas en 4 días que estuvimos en la hostal. Falta algo dulce para el desayuno ( pastelería) y poca variedad o por no decir siempre lo mismo.

• Isa (8/5): - The location is great. The place is cozy and beautiful, with an amazing view of the bay. Breakfast is very nice, with homemade bread, juice and jam. Plus there's a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook anytime. The guests are supposed to do the dishes, but of course most of them would just rinse them, so most of the time you can see fingerprints or even lip stains in the glasses. But this is easy to solve: just wash them yourself again before using them.

L’établissement est un palafito typique de la région, offrant une atmosphère authentique et une magnifique vue sur l’eau. Il est situé à environ 15 minutes à pied du centre. Comme l’hôtel se trouve au bord de l’eau, il faut monter une bonne côte pour rejoindre le centre-ville. La chambre était très confortable, idéale pour profiter d’un séjour agréable, même par temps de pluie. Le petit-déjeuner était excellent. Je recommande vivement cet endroit !

• Nancy (9/5): Good value, but not fancy - This is a charming property, located conveniently in Castro. The room was comfortable and the bathroom typical (tub/shower). We had a nice little balcony overlooking the water and enjoyed watching the birds. The breakfasts were typical — good enough, but nothing special. Parking is on the street, but that wasn’t hard. Overall, a good value. We missed having a host on site, and no one spoke English. We had to negotiate our arrival time around staff departure.

• Margo (10/5): Tranquil and unique rest in the most interesting part of Castro - We absolutely loved this hostel. We had room 8 with a beautiful view and a private terrace. We spent our entire rest day here enjoying the restful atmosphere and watching the tide go in and out. We made use of the lovely common spaces in the hostel as well. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in Chile, with hearty homemade seed bread, fresh fruit and yogurt, and eggs made to order. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Nothing

• Raymond (9/5): Superb - The hostal is one of the traditional palafito buildings in Castro. Despite being constructed entirely of wood it is surprisingly quiet inside and you don't really hear other people at all. It is a small very friendly place and staff are very welcoming and helpful. The room had a lovely balcony with seaview and was very light and airy. It was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was rather of the old fashioned type but everything worked perfectly. It's definitely worth booking the rooms with a balcony as you get the best view of the estuary throughout the day. The breakfast was very good with home made products and food cooked to order. I would definitely recommend this hostal to others. The hostal is very close to a busy bridge with lots of traffic but it is quite quiet at night. The location is 10 to 15 minutes walk from the town centre up a very steep hill. There are however plenty of taxis which are not so expensive.
