• Ulrike (9/5): Prima Lage mitten im Olivenhain! - Jeder Tag wird begleitet vom Geklingel der Schafe und Ziegen; nach Himara hinunter ist es nur ein kurzer Spaziergang, aber man ist doch weit genug entfernt! Einfach schön.
• Zanana (10/5): - Filoxenia ist ein ganz besonderer Ort – eine wahre Oase der Ruhe mitten in der Natur. Schon bei der Ankunft spürt man die liebevolle Atmosphäre und die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohlgefühlt und sind dankbar für die wunderbare Begegnung mit Anna und Thimjo. Die Unterkunft und die Umgebung laden zum Entspannen, Abschalten und Auftanken ein. Ein echtes Highlight waren die unvergesslich feine Konfitüre aus Rosenblättern sowie das selbstgemachte Olivenöl von hundertjährigen Olivenbäumen direkt aus dem Garten – ein Genuss und Ausdruck der besonderen Qualität dieses Ortes. Wir würden jederzeit sehr gerne wiederkommen und können diesen Ort von Herzen weiterempfehlen.
• Anne (10/5): Wonderful little place - The location is great, peaceful and quiet. Anna is so friendly. They have five spacious rooms with your own little seating area outside. Plus a communal kitchen and plenty of seating areas in the surrounding garden. Each room has AC for cooling and heating and a nice shower. To get there just follow the signs promar apartments from the ring road and a little bit further you will find this little oasis ❤️

Le cadre est idyllique, niché sur une colline avec vue sur la mer et au milieu D’un jardin de paradis. Les chambres en pierre pleines de charme, confortables et intimistes. Ne manquez pas la délicieuse cuisine d’Anna aux accents grecs!! Quant aux hôtes, vous vous sentirez comme à la maison dans cette charmante famille et n’attendrez que de pouvoir les revoir à nouveau! • Estera (10/5): - Piękna lokalizacja, domek położony pośród drzew oliwnych, piękne zachody słońca, cudowna atmosfera, cudowni właściciele. Bardzo duże i wygodne łóżka, wszystko w jak najlepszym porządku!!! Wrócimy napewno :) Wszystko było super!!!
• Lene Møller Yang (10/5): - The hotel can be a bit difficult to find, and having a car or your own transport is definitely recommended. That said, it is absolutely worth the effort, and we received excellent directions from Anna beforehand. The place itself is incredibly cozy and thoughtfully designed, with great attention to detail. It feels unique and personal, especially knowing that it has been beautifully crafted by Thimios himself. The garden is lovely and inviting, with plenty of comfortable seating areas where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We really appreciated the calm atmosphere and the charm of the place. We stayed for two nights, but it would have been easy to spend even longer there. Breakfast was also very good and a great way to start the day.

• THEL PHYU PHYU (10/5): Relax and Environmentally friendly - We had an amazing stay in Filoxenia . Anna is very friendly and kind. Felt like connecting nature , in a relax atmosphere. Just don’t follow google maps suggestions, it will lead you to a narrow road. Try to go to the main road and then you will find it easier to go to the place . The place , the hospitality, the facilities are above and beyond!

• Matteo (10/5): Es war sensationell!!! - Es war fabelhaft! Die Natur, die Steinhäuser, wir sind begeistert. Ich denke es ist bisher die beste unterkunft Albaniens! Die Berge und das Meer sind hier direkt nebenan, sodass man eine gute mischung hat. Das meer ist klar und es gibt einen public beach in der nähe. Ebenfalls eine geheime bucht- filikuri beach. Achtung: es ist sehr gefährlich dorthin zu wandern/ klettern. Hat sich allerdings gelohnt 😜 - es fühlt sich sehr familiär an und es gibt eine outdoor küche mit Gas und einen wunderschönen Garten mit vielen Frucht & Olivenbäumen. Das Bad ist sehr modern und die Betten bequem. Achtung: viele tiere 🤣

• Hansjörg (10/5): Schönes Idyll nahe zu den Stränden und Sehenswürdigkeiten Südalbaniens - Filoxenia ist eine ruhige, entspannte Oase im Süden Albaniens. Der Ort ist in ca. 5 Minuten von der Hauptstraße aus zu erreichen. Es gibt schöne Sitzgruppen, Bänke, Leseecken oder Hängematten unter Oliven- oder Pfirsichbäumen. Die Anlage wird von der Familie liebevoll gepflegt und instand gehalten. Die Zimmer sind schlicht, aber in Ordnung. Sehr hilfsbereite Besitzer mit guten Tipps für die Umgebung.

• Simone (7/5): Mooie plek maar prijzig - Het is een prachtige locatie, we hebben genoten van het verblijf en de prachtige tuin waar je verblijft. De kamers waren erg schoon. De prijs is aan de hoge kant voor wat je krijgt. Ontbijt is niet inbegrepen. De bedden zijn erg hard. Er zijn accomodaties waar je meer krijgt voor dit geld.

The hosts Anna and Thimios are very welcoming and kind. They cook amazing dinner on the fire. The toilet was a bit smelly

• Arthur (9/5): Great rooms in the mountains, close to the town - Great rooms, very cozy and well equipped. The location is also very nice and relaxing, in the mountains and a short 15min walk from the city and very close to plenty of nice beaches. You feel nicely secluded and are surrounded by goats and olive trees. The air is even a bit cooler which is nice. Staff is kind and accommodating, sharing local recommendations and providing plenty of services and products. The rooms have AC and a nice shower. Everything is stone and they stay pretty cool even during the hot summer days. We loved our time here. One thing that we really noticed is that we heard everything happening outside around our room. Rooms felt private, but we were woken up in the morning by people talking loudly outside. Not the hotel’s fault, but was a bit frustrating. WiFi was also a bit spotty but other than that this place is amazing

With extras such as a hammock, outdoor kitchen, lots of seating and not to mention the most amazing hosts, we had the best stay. Nothing, can’t fault it.

I recommend ordering the dinner and breakfast as they are well worth the money. Their own wine is tasty as well. I really recommend this place for at least two nights (we stayed for one and regretted not being able to book another). The room is really nice: we had a separate little shack for ourselves. -

The stone and wood cabins set in such a beautiful garden in a quiet location were a dream. The location is 20 mins walk from some amazing beaches and the town- the distance resulted in a relaxed stay away from the busy centre. Must try their yummy jams! Gorgeous rooms, wonderful host family, and a beautiful property. It is our second time here and we can hardly wait to come back.

Didn't have a chance to try their wine but they make a good raki. Good breakfast too 😋. Had trouble finding it. A couple of well placed signs would be very helpful.
• Katja (10/5): Charming, peaceful and the hosts were wonderfully welcoming. - This was an exceptional accommodation- a peaceful green oasis in which to relax and chat and read and sleep in absolute silence. Not a small contribution to our super relaxing stay was made by the caring, strong and very professional massage by Ana. Book it now, both room and massage, you wont regret it. The area has plenty to offer, 3 nights were not enough to visit it all. I can't think of anything that could be improved. Our hosts apparently have listened to suggestions of their guests over the years and are managing to cater for a range of diverse guests.

We did not sit outside because of this.. Also there is no sitting area in the room. You don’t really need one, go explore all the nice beaches and restaurants in Himare.

Within the garden several nice places to chill out and feel private. Great shared outdoor kitchen that is well equipted. Everything clean and very comfortable bed in a silent area. Such a calm and relaxed environment and plenty to do in Himare. Easy to walk to (taxi back up the hill) and the beach is good. Massages from Anna were fantastic. We would definitely recommend. Nothing.

There are some 500-600 m of awful road. It's Very hard to go walking to the city because of all the dirt and with the car.. is experience 😁

We visited during peak season and were so glad the accommodation was a decent way from the busy centre. The place is stunning and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful. Thimjo cooked amazing food for us and Anna hands down gave THE best massage I’ve ever had. Even if you aren’t staying at this accomodation you should book in a treatment with Anna as her hands are truely magical. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly and the rooms are so lovely and the shared spaces are beautiful. Do not hesitate to book and book a massage in!!

This attracts guests who dont need to party, dont need to be in the middle of the crowds. The availability of a kitchen where you can cook yourself but also get a home cooked (grilled) meal. Good and quick communication, clear instructions how to find it. Good advice of what to do and what not to do/ bother with. The rooms can be very warm. There is a ventilator but no airconditioning (which suites the place).

You can tell they love people, and they put all their energy into the business they run. They managed to create a little peace of heaven in an already beautiful coastal area. Thimios communicated with us up until our arrival, and showed us around even though we were running much later than planned. He also basically offered a full day itinerary which enabled us to see many hidden places. Be prepared this is a basic accommodation place - there are no luxuries. But this is also the charm of the place, and overall I personally wouldn't have changed anything at all. You're doing a great job Thimios & Anna!

Alternatively, you can take a taxi to the Himare center, which is a viable option for those without their own transportation. The slight distance from the center is a small trade-off for the peaceful and picturesque setting the hotel offers. In conclusion, this hotel is a perfect choice for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful and serene environment.

Beautiful rooms, delightful host, and a simply divine location! - Beautiful room (incredible creative design details that I so appreciate!), delightful welcome, peaceful outdoor areas that simply invite you to relax. I could have stayed here forever!

• Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic 6 nights at Filoxenia, brilliant hosts and a very peaceful location with a personal touch. Very short walk to the restaurants and there are beautiful beaches near by.
• Alexander (10/5): Peaceful, beaufiful and comfortable stay close to nature - We loved and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere at Filoxenia. It was wonderful to spend time at the beautiful surrounding with lots of flowers and olive trees. The room with private bathroom exceeded our expectations. It was really clean! We spent four nights at Filoxenia during off season. We can imagine that during the summer the rooms stay cool and comfortable too. The breakfast was delicious and included their own olive oil - which we loved to take home to bring home some holiday feelings back to Germany. We did not expect to be able to even have ocean view from the location.
• Cassie (10/5): A wonderful and relaxing stay with lovely people - This is a beautiful place with beautiful people. Thimio & Anna really helped us out with some car problems and made our stay really comfortable and enjoyable. They went out of their way to give us tips and recommendations for things to do in the area and they were all great! If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to explore the area then this is the one!
• Tutu (9/5): Lovely getaway in rural Albania - We had a great stay at Filoxena – the location is tranquil and idyllic, it has a lovely rustic vibe, amazing spacious garden, well equipped covered kitchen, ample parking space and pretty much everything we needed. Our room was nice, spacious and cosy. We were working remotely in the garden during the day and the internet was good enough. The place is 5 mins driving to the beach and wasn't too difficult to find with the host's instructions. We came to Albania for freediving and climbing and the location is perfect for both! Thanks to Thimjo and his wife for welcoming and hosting us :) the access road was a bit bumpy because of the building works nearby, but it wasn't too bad and not the hosts' fault
• Rik (9/5): Amazing hosts in a wonderful location - Thimios and Anna are amazing hosts and helped wherever they could. They are amazing! The location also is very nice and quiet with a nice warm sun in the morning during our breakfast. The beds are quite hard and you can feel the springs inside the matras.
