Guest Reviews
- Marie (10/5): I felt like royalty! - What an absolute treat staying in this lovely old palazzo. I felt like royalty! The location is fabulous and Andrea the owner was extremely helpful. Nothing was a problem at all. He even helped me book a porter from the train station to carry my luggage. The apartment had a small kitchen but I didn’t need it because I was out for all meals to so many nearby restaurants, many recommended by Andrea.
- Mattia (10/5): Il palazzo è stupendo e Andrea è un manager davvero simpatico e disponibile. Consiglio - Posto pazzesco al centro di Venezia! Nulla
- Josef (9/5): -
- Miguel (7/5): Overall, the stay was very pleasant and the host was responsive, and I would stay again - I liked the spaciousness of the 2-bedrooms with 1.5 bathrooms, and it had the grandeur I wanted. Location was good for exploring, shopping, dining, and morning coffee, etc...
The host arranged for a luggage porter from the train station, and it is highly recommended. Be sure to negotiate taking luggage up three flights of the 18th-century stairs.
I liked the opportunity to use the use public spaces
The on-site check-in host was very helpful, and the owner responded relatively quickly to questions There were many pros and cons. Depending on your reason for booking, the pros and cons may balance out. The three flights of 1st-century stairs may be a challenge for some. I didn't like that I had to enter the suite through a bedroom to get to the other bedroom. Although the place was beautiful, some surfaces were a bit dusty, and the mirrors needed some attention to sparkle. There was no hanging storage, no irons, no microwave,
- Elizabeth (8/5): A magical location - Staying in a palazzo was really fun and unique! It added to the magic of being in Venice for the first time. The proprietor was very eager to help us find anything we wanted to see our experience. He arranged a tour in a Murano glass factory (common, as a sales pitch, but still super interesting) and recommended great restaurants. The space is stunning and unique. We were welcome to explore the grand salon rooms since there were no events in them while we were there, and took fancy family pics in the super fancy digs. The wifi never worked for us. The host did say he might have been able to help us get it working if we'd asked sooner, but I followed his recommendations, and remain pretty certain that the problem was on their end, not ours. Also it would be really helpful to have some places to hang towels and clothes. Things were a little wonky here, but if you're happy with an adventure, you won't be disappointed!
- Claire (8/5): - Amazing location and special atmosphere being in a palace Could provide better towels and toiletries
- Sam (10/5): -
- Alyssa (6/5): - We loved the grand feel and location of the apartment. The host Andrea was very kind and welcoming. The beds were, hard… the shower was not truly a shower it was a bath with a semi broken shower wand. Although the whole apartment is yours to explore, it is a shared space. The executive suit is not all that is pictured. It is two bedrooms with one full bath and one half bath. The grand space with a piano is the owners office, again you are free to explore it but it’s not connected to your room.
Additionally there is 3 flights of stairs up to the apartment ( while my friend and I didn’t mind), someone with a hard time climbing stairs I would want choose a different location.
- Benjamin (10/5): -
- Elvis (10/5): An absolute rare gem of a stay - An absolute rare gem of a stay. The interior is exquisitely designed, blending elegance and sophistication with comfort, creating a boutique retreat like no other. Every detail is meticulously curated, and the space radiates tranquility and exclusivity. The host was exceptional – attentive, gracious, and effortlessly ensuring a flawless experience. A truly unforgettable stay that sets a new standard for luxury. Highly recommended. There was truly nothing to dislike. Every detail was flawless, from the beautifully designed interior to the impeccable service. This stay was absolutely perfect in every way.
- Yogesh (9/5): Luxurious Venetian experience — felt like royalty. Absolutely unforgettable and fell in love! - Fantastic service and hosting — thank you, Andrea, for being so helpful, welcoming, and polite. The size of the rooms and beds, especially our second suite (the Executive Suite), was incredible. The pictures truly don’t do them justice. Everything felt grand, with palace-level décor throughout.
There were so many picturesque and stunning details — from the artwork and décor to the beautiful views from some of the windows. It’s definitely a memorable place to stay, with so many areas and details to admire.
The heating in the suites was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised at how warm and comfortable such a large space felt. The apartment is in a quiet area, yet still very conveniently located — most main attractions are only a 6–12 minute walk away.
Getting there was also easy: if you arrive at San Stae from the airport via Alilaguna transport, it’s very straightforward (though maps are still helpful). The location is close to some lovely restaurants and cafés, including:
Majer – great coffee and pastries for mornings and evenings
Taverna da Baffo – excellent gnocchi and calzone (thank you for the recommendation, Andrea!)
Osteria Pizzeria Due Colonne – delicious mushroom tagliatelle There wasn’t anything we truly disliked, but we did experience a few minor issues. Apologies, Andrea — I hope you don’t mind us mentioning them:
1) Shower facilities: The suites only had a bath with a shower attachment, which was slow and didn’t have anywhere to hang the shower head or a shower curtain. We understand this may be due to preserving the décor and overall vibe, which is completely understandable. However, if shower facilities could ever be improved in the future, it would make mornings quicker and more refreshing, especially before long days out.
2) Lighting: At times, the lighting felt a little dull, particularly with the curtains drawn. Brighter lighting would have helped.
3) TV connection: The TV connection in the Executive Suite (mainly in the master bedroom) was occasionally slow and temperamental.
4) Heating noises: The heating or pipework made some noises, particularly noticeable at night. Once asleep, it wasn’t an issue, but the clinking sounds were noticeable beforehand.
Note: Be mindful for some walking, as the apartment will have stairs you will need to climb - at least up 2/3 flights of stairs.
That said, we were still extremely happy with our overall experience and wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else. These points don’t take away from how special the stay was in any way.
- Drut (10/5): -
- Mark H (9/5): Venezia Palazzo. - The palazzo was stunning. The decore is second to non. Personallly I have never stayed in an apartment like this before.
Andrea was very good. Great location and the price we paid was very good for the apartment.
Beautiful! The stairs. Otherwise perfecto!
- Catharina (10/5): Very pleasant Venetian experience! - Location super. Palazzo awsome. Very beautiful authentic Venetian decoration and an amazing lot of space.
Andrea è molto simpatico! No complaints!
- Esposito (2/5): Palace Disaster stay - The place was nice like the pictures but it was not very clean This was more of a furniture for sale showroom than a place to stay. It smelled musty and the furniture was very dusty. (Too dusty to sit on.) We even found a used condom (yes, a used condom) on the floor next to our bed. There were only 2 towels left for 5 people. There is not a stand up shower in the unit either.
Andrea, our host was smoking in the unit even though it is a non smoking facility.
The electricity went out at 11 pm the first night and Andrea, our host tried to have me troubleshoot the issue with him over the phone, he finally came out and even though I tried to show him where the problem was he would not look at it. (Power is essential at night as several in our party required CPAP machines to sleep.) Then he was insistent that it was an electric company issue, even though the hallway and other units in the building had power . He told me the electric company would be out in 2 hours and left me to deal with them. They arrived at around 2 am, found an electric panel that Andrea had not looked at and flipped the breaker which gave us power. (Not the electric company's fault.) Because we were up half the night our plans for the next day had to be cancelled or changed. During all this we had to traverse the 68 step staircase at least 20 times checking issues.
This was a very costly stop in our journey. I tried to contact booking.com through there customer service portal but got no response.
I have photos of the issues.
- Mirjam (8/5): Waanzinnig locatie, zeer vriendelijke gastheer. - Prachtige accommodatie, volledig in Venetiaanse stijl. Perfecte locatie, heel centraal. Alles op loop afstand.
- Lois (8/5): The accommodations were gorgeous and TAndrea was a charming host and was very accommodating. - Overall, I really liked the location. There was a really lovely little shop across the bridge that we frequented often. And the bridge was a very nice photo op area. The interior was amazing. We decorated beautiful hardwood floors. Everything was top-notch. Overall, the place was very nice and well maintained except the AC was not working. In the mosquito repellent was not very effective. Also, there was a dirty dish towel in the kitchen. That was very unpleasant. Seems like the cleaning crew missed a few things.
- Nerijus (10/5): -
- Lasma (9/5): -
- Allison (5/5): Keep walking - This is a showroom for a designer of classic-eclectic furniture and there are price tags on many of the pieces. The bathtub is very deep and very comfortable. Although advertised as having air conditioning, the manager stated that since the temperature outside was less than 25 Celsius, it was not going to be turned on. The minibar is an empty refrigerator and the manager stated that it is fine to drink tap water. The coffee house on site is over the bridge, turn right and go down two blocks on the left. The manager refused to accept cash for the city tax which I believe is illegal. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have slept on in Venice. The sheets are cheap, thin and do not fit the bed. Because there was no air conditioning available and the manager opened the windows as a means of cooling, mosquitoes buzzed and bit me all night long. The only goal in having this space is to make money while trying to sell furniture. Hospitality is not even an afterthought.

- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anastasia (10/5): Wonderful - Everything was beautiful and comfortable for our family journey, great host and amazing Venetian atmosphere !
- Shaddowx (8/5): Very good - Amazing place, quiet area, beautiful palace, great host Water kept going out, mosquitos (but he gave us an infusor to keep them away, water kept going out, and no hot water 1 day that it was working.
- Corinne (7/5): Good - Location was great
The rooms and artifacts were beautiful
Beautiful piano play and view of vanal Not advised of so many stairs, travelling with senior.
No bathroom amenities, no coffee maker/kettle
Dusty
Hard beds
- Dave (10/5): Absolutely magnificent. We loved it - The whole building is stunning! Our private apartment was a section of the main palace and we had access to the ballroom sized room with its huge table and grand piano, which was furnished in the style of Venice- we could imagine being Venetian aristocracy. Our apartment was also gorgeous- beautifully furnished and very comfortable.
We loved staying there for my wife’s birthday and just thought it was amazing. If you found anywhere else this good you would be paying big money for it
The host was very friendly and easy to deal with. He very kindly allowed us to check in early, which was much appreciated.
- Chelsea (8/5): Very good - Nice quiet location but quick walk to everything. Unique woodwork and fun to be in such an old building. Was fine for us but not a good choice for people with mobility issues.
- Belinda (7/5): Lovely old property - Lovely old building Bit hard to find and had a musty smell in the rooms
- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (8/5): Lovely venician classic place - nice location - The furniture was amazing!!! There was so much to look at and he let us in the main room to look around and take pictures. The stairs. getting suitcases up the stairs was very difficult - there are 59 stairs
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kayla (9/5): Beautiful palace close to the centre of Venice - like stepping back in time! - The location and setting - the palace was beautiful. Room size extremely spacious. Great communication from Andrea!
- Devendree (1/5): Dirty Dusty showroom - The pictures advertising the place, made us excited and looked forward to trip
The what’s app messages from the host advising and guiding us how to get to the property It is extremely dirty
Very very dusty
Furniture caked in dust
A lot of the furniture had numbers and QR codes for sale / auction
The mirrors were so dirty you couldn’t even wipe it clean. We found empty food boxes left by previous guests
The towels were thin mismatched colour towels
Within minute we noticed and told the host Andrea’s and he basically said it’s an old building, it’s a you problem
We splurged on this accommodation but the unbelievable amount of dust left my whole family with sore throats and me with a chest infection that I’ve been advised needs antibiotics
And I am only half way through my holiday !!!
Staying at this place was just an aweful experience
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (9/5): Just an amazing stay, amazing apartment. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Venice. - What an amazing apartment. The wow factor of the decoration is amazing. The photos don't do it justice. It was only 5 mins walk to the Grand Canal where you could get the boat bus anywhere. The host was fantastic. I could not ask for more. He recommended several lovely restaurants for breakfast and dinner, all of which were great value, good service and delicious food. We had an issue with the air conditioning on the second night but that was just unlucky. Also, while it did not affect us, there were a lot of stairs to get to the apartment. This was fine for us but others might find it an issue.
- Sarah (4/5): Not a palace after all - The history is cool and the decor is opulent and unique. But it all loses its charm due to the smell, the heat, and the lack of attention to detail. It’s a shame that the host doesn’t “get it”. It could be something really special. Sadly, we had a truly uncomfortable stay. For a premium price we expected the aircon to be working. We read some recent reviews about the aircon not working so I message the host prior to checking in to check that it was fixed. He said it was functioning. We were then told at check-in that it had only just broken and a technician had tried to fix it (later, the host said they couldn’t get a part for it due to a public holiday). All sounded like poor excuses because he also complained that it costs him 1000euro each time it’s looked at. We were staying with our two young children and we slept a grand total of three hours the first night as there is absolutely no reprieve from the heat (and the polyester sheets and mosquitos make it even worse). We had to put our foot down with the host on the second day and demand that fans were supplied. The property smells of mildew and dust is piling up everywhere. Previous guests’ old partially drunken water bottles were left in the fridges. Our bathroom wasn’t clean and towels stunk. No attention to detail. Host is friendly but never even bothered to respond to my improvement suggestions. It really affected our time in Venice as there was just no escaping the heat. The fans made it bearable enough to get more sleep but we were walking around trying to enjoy Venice while feeling totally drained. So not good enough for the amount of money. Of course the furniture and decor is interesting. SPEND YOUR MONEY WISELY.
- Denis (9/5): Superb -
- Darmin (6/5): Pleasant - This was a very unique experience in a 500 year old place. I did not like that the host told us that A/C broke that day but the comments of other guests state A/C was not working throughout July. Sleeping was pretty much impossible due to heat and inability to keep windows open from mosquitos.
- Harley (7/5): Great location. Great host. Very Venetian. Enjoyed our stay. - Great location. Quirky accommodation. Host was always on hand to answer questions and assist where possible. Aircon could have been colder.
- Nicolas (10/5): Great host who helped a lot and was very kind and welcoming - Amazing place
- Vaca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shervin (1/5): False Advertising & A Totally Unhygienic premise with no functioning Air conditioning & Privacy due to forced to - Nothing in particular! Do not be misled by the images shown . The display rooms with the antique furniture look good but they are not the rooms you actually stay in .
Note that the air conditioning is working in these rooms though . These are all furniture for sale and a facade . First thing the host sprung on us when we got there was that the air conditioning was not working but went on to say everything was setup & ok. The host simply told us to open all the windows and leave them open all the time - no privacy , no fly screens on them, no mosquito nets with the bed so we were attacked severely by the mosquitoes. He provided a plug in vape and said that should cover the entire 2 bedroom apartment!
It was 32 degrees in Venice both the days we were there , other guests we spoke to had air conditioning except us.
It was extremely disappointing as the host should have informed us straight away when we booked that there was no functional air conditioning & it would be extremely uncomfortable, unhygienic and a horrible experience.
When we contacted the host about the heat & mosquitoes at night as 2 family members have severe allergies to bites and excessive dust , he pretty much ignored it & said your wife can go sleep in my office on the sofa , the air conditioning works there.
How unprofessional ! The kids & my wife & I were infested with multiple bites and even bled due to excessive scratching . We even asked The host for a free standing fan or to give us the other 2 bedroom apartment or any other room which had air conditioning which he totally ignored . The host also misled us by stating it is not hot enough for the air conditioning to be on & it only works in certain temperatures and months . To which we said it’s summer in Europe now & July is one if the hottest months and every other property we had stayed in throughout the past weeks all had provision for adequate air conditioning.
We DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR as advertised on booking.com
We even told him straight up that it was extremely uncomfortable & it made no difference except for another plug in the following day !! Ridiculous & not right to subject humans to such unhygienic and unsanitary conditions .
- Joel (8/5): A great place to stay!! - A fantastic place to stay. Andrea is great. Excellent position. Great for a family. We would stay there again!! The air conditioner was not working!! Very important for there to be air conditioning, otherwise it is too hot and mosquitos fly in through the open windows!!! Access to coffee or tea in the rooms would be nice.
- Matthew (10/5): Lived like Venetian royalty - Such a unique place living like a prince. Beautifully decorated .
- Pippa (10/5): A wonderful palace! - It was magical to stay at Andrea's palace! It's spectacular! And good value for such a unique and beautiful place to stay
- Toby (8/5): Very good -
- Kausarali (7/5): Comfortable and clean rooms. Great host - The property has a great vintage aesthetic The property is not very accessible if you have very luggage. I wouldn’t blame the property for that. We should have packed lighter however if someone is planning on carrying a heavy suitcase. I would only request you to keep in mind that you will to carry the
Suitcase two floors up.

- Leo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robyn (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location and very spacious apartment with comfortable beds. Couldn’t work out how the heating worked.
- Marcin (10/5): the only problem I now have, is how on earth will I get a place on similar level on my next trip! - Andrea as host - amazing, place itself - incredible! it is honestly a Palace not an apartment. I highly doubt that Ill ever get a place which is as fancy and amazing as this one. Especially recommend for all the men whose Woman want to take loads of photos :) It definitely has the wow factor! nothing realy :)
- Judit (10/5): Just a perfect accommodation for a stay in Venice! We couldn't dream of any better! - We couldn't imagine a better place to stay in our Venice trip. Wonderful apartment, just made our stay perfect in Venice! Highly recommended, we will come back again soon! 🙂❤️💙🔝🔝🔝 -
- Abel (10/5): Had a great time staying here, tons of pictures and memories. Don’t just book any old hotel or airbnb, why not stay in t - The ambiance overall, what better way to be in Venice than in a 500 year old palace!
- Noora (10/5): A truly special experience - This place exceeded all of out expectations. The place is absolutely stunning and the location is also perfect. Near cafés, restaraunts, shops, water taxi, gondola service... I highly recommend it! The shower was a bit tragic but I wouldn't miss out because of it.
- Mihai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Crystal (6/5): It was a decent stay but a bit disappointed for the price. - Definitely a unique experience. Some of the common areas were very pretty. Very large rooms with 1.5 baths (only one shower). Could have been cleaner. Seemed a little dusty… bedspreads were old. The beds were very hard. There were about four flights of stairs to get to the apartment. Not easy for older folks. Location difficult to access and we needed to hire a porter to bring our bags €50 each way.
- Lucaj62 (9/5): Staying at Palazzo Ca' Bernardo is like diving back to the golden age of Venice. It deserve a stay. - The owner is a very nice person. He welcomed us and helped us to really enjoy our stay. The property is on the second floor of the beautiful XIV-century building in Campo San Polo. We rent a two-bedroom apartment which is opposite the common area, with a large ballroom, a reading room, and other large rooms. Our apartment had a dining room with a small kitchen (good for breakfast and light meals), two lovely bedrooms, and a bathroom. The large ballroom was fully furnished and has a grand piano that I enjoyed a lot (playing in that setting was magic). A few more utensils in the kitchen and a better coffee machine would have helped.
- Allan (10/5): We vsiisited Venice to photograph the amazing buildings but took more inside than outside the flat - Fabulous location. Immaculate apartment. Very friendly owner always happy to give advice regarding the area and facilities. A truly outstanding building dating back to 1400"s. NOTHING NOTHING
- Willow (4/5): Misleading - Location was nice, not far from waterbus and not too hard to find. Very steep stairs, cramped accommodation, air conditioning was nothing more than a tepid breeze if you sat right beside the unit. Nowhere to sit other than dining table. Shower was handheld over a bath and nothing more than a dribble. Nothing to cut food or cook with and absolutely no sleep due to a stupidly loud boiler that went off several times an hour day and night. Also very unimpressed by owner giving my phone number to another guest and lots of miscommunication about arrival times despite me being very clear through app, email and whatsapp! Photos are very misleading because most are of a different area within the building that is not part of the accommodation but a furniture shop
- Büyükyildirim (3/5): Never again - Decoration Air condition was terrible Shower was terrible
- Chris (10/5): One to remember!! - sumptuous apartments, a time capsule of old Venice. Andrea a lovely guy and most welcoming. perfect base for our 2 days. Air conditioning great especially during this heat wave a fridge would be a welcome addition for keeping water cool (although sitting it on top of air con was perfect!)
- Rick (3/5): Grand and very uncomfortable. Don’t let the pictures fool you. - As others have noted, this place has a great location and looks very impressive. The host is funny and fairly friendly. This place smells awful. It’s clear it used to be a smoked in extensively and now is covered up by air freshener. The mattresses are rock hard, there is no refrigerator and one tiny trash can for this huge place. The shower is a tub with a hand want and almost no water pressure. Bring your own shampoo because all the bottles were empty. My wife wanted to leave immediately but we had spent too much money already.
- Courtney (9/5): Lovely stay at a very unique location, you’ll not get this experience again, book now! It’s a must!! - The phenomenal 15th century palace, absolutely loved having a kitchenette. Was ever grateful that I could play the grand piano and immerse myself in the most incredible environment with amazing furniture, wallpaper, items, library etc. absolutely a once in a lifetime stay! You feel transported in time! Couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have high speed internet and a smart tv. Walking around this property I counted my lucky stars. Chandeliers were magnificent and you could look at that and more for hours! An absolutely wonderful location that helped you feel like a local living in Venice. The lamps and light placement glow up the apartment in a beautiful way. The air conditioning worked on such a hot day! That was very lucky and appreciated. I’ll never have a stay like this again. How lucky are we all that this property is available for guests to stay. Book now! That the bathroom and kitchen items weren’t clean, razor cover was left on the bathtub, almost empty shampoo containers left by a previous guest, very old coloured not matching bath towels provided, bathtub shower pressure wasn’t strong but that’s okay because it’s an old palace. I was informed that the cleaner was not available and that was evident in the small details. However Andrea did his best to have me checked in by 6:30pm and have my bed made. It helped having some basics in the kitchen but all had to be washed as many were dirty or greasy and some more utensils need to be provided eg. oil, spatula for eggs, clean sponges, non stained kitchen towels.
- Letitia (1/5): Do not book! Read this fully and ignore the good reviews. - Nothing Trash in the entrance, dodgy host, dirty old and mismatched towels, aircon doesn’t work, bedrooms stink, bedding and pillows are cheap and old, not a real palace or suitable for staying in anymore - it’s now a furniture shop and the employee is renting out rooms in the furniture display suite.
To make things worse, there is no normal way to check in. The host told us to park at a parking 20 minutes walk away that cost us 30 euros for 20 minutes - then sent a porter to take our bags (which we didn’t ask for) - the porter then demanded 40euros for walking our bags (which we could have done ourselves without any issue) but we weren’t given a choice or told in advance about these additional expenses. After all of this, we found out we had to wait an hour and a half in a square nearby, in the rain with our luggage for the host to meet us or we couldnt check in.
He eventually showed up and was a dirty, unkempt and dodgy looking person who unlocked the doors to a lobby lined with trash and old cheap garbage.
It only got worse from there when we realised it was the man’s office and we were expected to sleep in a furniture shop and use dirty mismatched old towels and bedding that looks like they were bought in the 1980s and we’re brought in from the man’s own house. All the furniture has tags on it, even the light fittings. There’s even catalogs scattered throughout. Absolutely shameless scam.
Avoid this at all costs. We left after a few hours and booked elsewhere at our own additional cost.
- Jane (9/5): Such fun, I would stay again if the sheets and towels and things you expect at a b&b were there. - I loved the baroque furniture and Venetian feel. The location was perfect. Andreas was very friendly. It was a highlight of my trip to Europe. I really felt like I was in true Venice not an IKEA apartment. We had such a laugh. I would have liked crisp white sheets and fluffy white towels. The pillow was like a rock. But the atmosphere and fun of the palazzo made up for it. It could be amazing if these little details were attended to along with some tea and coffee facilities and biscuits and milk. Kettle was grubby. It felt like a showroom for furniture, but we loved it for two days. The entrance in is steep stairs not appropriate for older people or heavy suitcases.
- Peter (7/5): Amazing apartment, poor amenities - The venue was amazing. 10 out of 10. It was like a night in a museum. We were handed 3 old towels for our three nights stay (2 adults and a child). The shower was inside a bathtub, and the water didn't properly run. There was no fridge so we couldn't keep our drinks cold. The apartment is on the top floor with 5 stairs to reach.....had to carry 4 suitcases up and down without help.
- Tatu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Irene (1/5): Bad -
- Jonathan (10/5): One of the most amazing stays I’ve ever had. - Everything - place was amazing and like out of a faerie tale. Everything was great!
- Regula (8/5): A very authentic Venetian experience! - A very special house located very centrally. Impressive architecture and interior design! A superb grand-piano is located in the enormous dining room. The host is absolutely fantastic! Grazie mille Andrea! The actual apartment is rather small, dark, a bit smelly and not the cleanest I've ever seen..
- Victoria (1/5): Friends stayed for work, and it was so horrible I had to book them somewhere else. - NA My friends, who I booked it for arrived. It smelled horrible and was basically underwater. It was filthy. Had to change locations
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing -
- Peter (5/5): For the price you pay, not fit as accommodation. - The location was great. The owner let us keep the rooms until 1 pm, so we did not have to worry about finding a place for our luggage. The owner turned on the heating when we asked for extra blankets. The oddness of the place made it memorable. These are not not rooms meant for living in. The place is better described as showrooms for the owner's fake antique furniture, which is probably what it actually is.
All the items in the rooms have visible price/number tags (including the curtains). There are nowhere to hang the worn towels to dry in the bathroom or elsewhere. The bedsheets are thin and crumpled, with rough, basic wool blankets. If you are prepared to pay the price equivalent of an upscale hotel to stay in a furniture showroom with cheap bedding, this is the place for you.
- Samantha (8/5): A unique stay in a beautiful place - Easy to reach location within walking distance from most locations
- Maokoo (10/5): Perfect - Feel like living in 400 years ago with modern amenities. Great and comfortable apartment with high ceiling. Andrea is a good owner who is also a cat lover 😉 Nothing, everything is great.
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for the hospitality! Nice and friendly :-).
- Mai (10/5): We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful apartment to stay in during our long weekend away! - Beautiful furnished and spacious, with all the essentials for a relaxing stay in stunning Venice!
We loved the extra large bed and the cabin style set up. Did not have not have any curtains on the bedroom window
- Lancefield (10/5): A Palace fit for a King & Queen! - It’s a beautiful place, part apartment, part historic landmark, part furniture showroom!
We stayed in the Executive suite with the two double bedrooms and bathrooms, loads of space and very comfortable. It’s well located and an easy walk to most places. We were able to get a water taxi to drop us very nearby and a short walk to the Palace. A beautiful building, actually pointed out to us by our gondolier on his tour without him knowing we were staying here! Andrea was a great host, friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants etc. it didn’t have a fridge or coffee maker (which it claims in the listing) but there’s a coffee shop 2 mins away so not a big deal.
- Victor (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wim (7/5): Beautifull place but things that could be better. - Kind reception by the owner with afterwards a tour of the building. If you'd like, he can suggest a lot of things to do in Venice. I think he is a very good host and will try to help wherever he can. It is a unique location and well based in the center of Venice. Bit of a disappointment to discover that most of the building had to be shared with the other visitors, the private part is kind of a bit small compared to showed online (or confusing). The cleanliness could be better (still garbage of the previous visitors, toilet dirty, ..) and some things (lack of enough clean towels, like a hairdryer) are not available although mentioned online. (He got it straigth away so points for this). No possibility to darken the room so don't forget your sleeping mask.
The owner suggested a friend's boat tour at a special and fixed rate but at the end we had to pay more because we suggested some specialities although he suggested them himself. We were a bit disappointed and think this is kind of a rip off.
Overall a good place to stay but some things could be better. When this things would be dissolved, I would recommend it.
- Maciej (10/5): Exceptional - My Rating 10/10 and double hundred times !!!
