• Anke van Veen (6/5): Short stay in Randwick City Lodge - The proximity to the conference venue and the restaurants. The kitchenette. The fact the the owner was reachable by text and replied promptly. It was raining and the heater part of the aircon wasn't working when I arrived. There was a note that I wasn't allowed to change the settings, otherwise others would be affected. There was a cheap air freshener that was plugged in at the wall which made the room smell awful for 2 days. It has toxic ingredients as well and should not be plugged in and should be optional for people who want it. The bathroom had only one combined switch for light and fan and the fan was so noisy that I didn't use that light much. The shower door sounded like it was broken and even though the showers looked fantastic you had to switch the water on by holding your arm under the showerhead and since the warm water took forever to come through in the sink, I wasn't tempted to use the shower. I prefer a heater in the bathroom rather than a cold and noisy compulsory fan. There was no toaster in the room, only in the communal kitchen, but there was a toasty maker, which was half broken at the back. When I opened it, there was a layer of crumbs that were covered in mould, so I spent 10 minutes cleaning it, but after that I had lost my appetite for toast and went to a Thai restaurant instead ... The room was next to the communal kitchen where someone decided to chop carrots or something like that on a marble chopping board at 7am, so don't ask for room 15. It could have all been just because of the room I had.

• Ilay (1/5): no safety guaranteed and poor communication - The price for the room was quite a nice deal actually and it was close to airport they sent me a wrong passcode for my room even though i said that i'd arrive at 11 pm. then i tried the other passcode he gave me (which he said was the outside door's passcode) and it opened my door. turns out it opens the guy's door who was staying next to my room. so we knew each others door passcode :) what a safe accomodation. i tried to contact him about the issue and he answered so late. when he answered he couldn't even find a solution just told me to wait till morning and not to worry much. then the next day he came later than he said, so i had to leave because I only had 1 day to explore Sydney and I wouldn't want to waste my time waiting him fixing my door. anyway he fixed it and told me he would refund me the first night and i didn't receive anything yet. it has been a month.

• John (10/5): Nice stay if you are on a budget. If i went to sydney again i would stay there. - I was there for 5 nights. Nice place ( a wee bit compact.) The position of the lodge makes so easy to get into the city and harbour tourist area,The tram Line L 2 is a few minutes walk down the bottom of the street they run every 10/15 mins. . Randwick race course is next to the tram stop.The main High Street is a few minutes walk away.There are alI kinds of food outlets and two shopping centres. There are buses on the High St that go to the beach. Nothing . Hi Gef. Thanks for the nice stay. John

• Maria (9/5): Practical and comfortable accommodation in quiet part of Randwick - Great location in Randwick. Close to buses and light rail. I stayed in a room next to the courtyard. It was very quiet and felt private. I personally did not use the kitchen or laundry as I was only there for 2 nights. My room had a kettle, fridge, microwave and some utensils and plates. So it was possible to have breakfast in the room. My room very comfortable with a good shower. I'd stay again. N/A

• Oona (7/5): Bon séjour ! Localisation très pratique - La chambre est agréable, le lit était confortable. Très proche du L2 (tramway) qui emmène dans le centre de Sydney donc très pratique ! La propreté est à revoir, particulièrement dans les espaces communs (les toilettes surtout: quand nous sommes arrivés ils étaient propre mais pas lavés tous les jours, donc vite très sale au vu du nombre de chambre…) Le frigo n’était pas vidé et la chambre n’était pas dans une propreté incroyable (en tout cas nous nous attendions à mieux au vu du prix).

Abbiamo trovato qualcosa per la colazione, prodotti da bagno, ma per il resto non siamo stati molto soddisfatti. La pulizia lasciava molto a desiderare. Già entrando nella struttura, l'odore non era affatto gradevole. Nella nostra stanza "luxury" abbiamo trovato stoviglie sporche, la maniglia del frigo appiccicosa di cibo. Ho passato salviette igienizzanti ovunque ed ho trovato molta polvere, in più su uno dei comodini due lenti a contatto secche e appiccicate lì da chissà quanto. Moquette macchiata in diversi punti. Sul pavimento intorno al water c'erano delle macchie ormai asciutte (forse pipì?). L'unica cosa che si è salvata a livello di pulizia sono state lenzuola e asciugamani.

• Margaux (8/5): Une bonne alternative calme pour une visite de quelques jours de Sydney. - L’hôtel est très bien placé, proche du tram pour aller en centre-ville. Nous avons eu la chambre au fond avec salle de bain privative qui était calme. Le lit était confortable. La chambre est bien équipée pour cuisiner. Le gérant nous a fait une petite frayeur au début en disant que nous n’avions pas de réservation… mais il avait mal regardé. Il a été réactif pour nous changer le micro-onde qui ne fonctionnait pas. La salle de bain était propre. Le ménage doit être un peu plus approfondi. Les ustensiles de cuisine et le frigo n’étaient pas très propres, le torchon de la cuisine était déguelasse, j’ai demandé à le faire changer. Les sièges sont sales. Pas mal de poussière sur les étagères et de cheveux qui traînent dans les placards. Rien de bien grave en soi.

• Guy (6/5): Overall had a nice stay - Overall it's a nice place for a few days. Comfy bed and the owner was very nice. It's 5 minute walk from Randwick shopping center. My room was facing the kitchen and the bathroom and the door is VERY thin so every time someone's cooking or brushing their teeth - you hear them, and they hear you. I had my own room but it still didn't feel private. Also sometimes people were walking by the room's window (which was ground floor) and could see me in the room through the window - so I always had to close the curtains.

There's close public transit and some really good cafes in the area as well. Did have to buy soap as all the dispensors were empty and the bed did not fit a 6ft tall man, but still definitely worth the price you pay for it.

The coffee machine was good. The laundry was cheap. The mattress was terrible. We thought we were getting a queen bed. The top sheet had a rip in it, it was so old. There was a child's toy under the bed and it was very dirty under there. The walk up to the room was dark and dingy and felt like we were entering a broom cupboard, not a hotel room. The vibe was of student digs rather than eastern suburbs lodge to us.

Everything was clean and well cared for, and the room felt comfortable and welcoming. The shared kitchen was a real highlight — spacious, well equipped, and with an excellent coffee machine that we really enjoyed using. Jeff is a wonderful host, very welcoming and friendly, and made us feel genuinely at home.

Nice common area tho nobody used it during my 7 night stay. Seemed to have some older, longer term guests. Laundry facilities. Tiny sink in private bathroom. Hard to use without splashing the floor.

Needs thorough cleaning to score higher rating. - Comfortable room, good little kitchenette, overall satisfactorily clean and well presented main building/entrance. Additional kitchen available in the main building if needed. Recent cleaning was satisfactory. Overall, the room felt like it needed a deep clean. The main issue were the two blinds were dirty with what could have been mould. The ceiling in the bathroom also looked like it has mould infestation, which I understand is difficult in an enclosed space with no natural ventilation. There was also mould at about head height on the wall tiles above the toilet. It is difficult for a room to feel clean no matter how good the recent surface cleans have been when there is a need for deep cleaning and the blinds are dirty. Similarly with some of the draws in the kitchenette could use a deeper clean after each guest. The shower head would not stay in place, fortunately there is a rain shower head too. Occasionally the hot water took a while to come through, on the second night I though I was not going to be able to have a hot shower, but in time the water became hot.

I was in a room right next to the bathrooms and near the kitchen and could hear anything happening in either which wasn’t ideal when trying to sleep in. If you are noise sensitive I would recommend earplugs

• Susan (1/5): Don't go to - The bed was comfortable On the second day the owner let himself into my room just after I'd showered and got into bed, ( I'd had surgery 3 days before), he just stood there looking at me while I was telling him to get out, not feeling very safe i rang another motel and they sent a taxi to pick me up, wouldn't recommend this lodge, no refund
• Markus (8/5): - Die Lage ist sehr praktisch. Mit der Straßenbahn kommt man sehr einfach in die City. Zu den Stränden kann man zu Fuß gehen oder mit dem Bus fahren. Auf der nahe gelegenen Belmont Street kann man gut einkaufen und es gibt viele Restaurants. Wir hatten das große Zimmer mit zwei Etagen. Unten ist eine Kochecke und ein Mini Sofa sowie ein kleines, aber nettes Bad oben ist ein gemütliches und großes Doppelbett. Es fehlt ein Tisch. Beim ersten Besuch war es nicht richtig sauber. Beim zweiten Besuch war jedoch alles sehr gut gereinigt. Vielleicht war die Reinigungskraft vorher krank? Praktisch ist, dass man die Gemeinschaftsküche mit benutzen kann.

• Laura (8/5): Super Ausgangslage für Sydney, würden wir wieder buchen. - Die Lage ist wirklich super, nicht weit von der Light Rail die direkt zur Oper fährt und diversen Buslinien, außerdem ein großer Supermarkt und viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Für unsere Bedürfnisse völlig ausreichend. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein, aber ausreichend. Blöd war, dass man nicht wirklich lüften konnte, weshalb es mittlerweile auch ein wenig muffig riecht. Und das Zimmer ist sehr hellhörig.

• soraida (9/5): Good value for money and its accessible to the CBD and other tourists attractions. - Near transportation, food choices, malls and tourist attractions. Jeff is accessible and visits often as he lives in the premises. Property has a kitchen, coin operated laundromat. In the rooms small appliances like coffee maker, water heating, microwave and iron are free to use and also eating paraphernalia in case of take out. Someone was noisy up to 11-ish at night during our first two nights. On the third night, it was stopped earlier. Made me hard to sleep because of the noise. Also, at one time, someone did not clean the bathroom after use.
• Corinne (8/5): C'était très très bien. - La chambre était charmante bien équipée TV , petit frigo, petite kitchenette avec un peu de vaisselle, accès à un grande cuisine très bien équipée, super machine à café, dans la chambre placards très pratiques pour ranger le linge. Ensemble très calme., petit patio très agréable, accès àlamachine àlaver et seche linge payants, étendoir à linge à l'extérieur. . Étant maniac je dirais que tout n'était pas nickel mais dans l'ensemble correct. L'emplacement est très bien, proche des bus, du light rail, d'un petit centre commercial et de l'université. Le coin fumeur sur le devant n'est pas à l'abri.
• Hiroaki (9/5): - 近くに大学がある落ち着いた住宅街に位置しています。 スーパーマーケットや飲食店もある商店街がすぐ近くにあり、とても便利です。 地下鉄の駅も路面電車の駅もすぐ近くです。 私が泊まった部屋にはキッチンがついており、電子レンジや食器など、あれば良いなと思う物はすべて揃っていました。しかも、とても清潔でした。 言うことありません。 また泊まりたいです。
• Katy B (7/5): Convenient location with a full communal kitchen. - Great location, easy walk to Randwick shops and to UNSW. Quiet. Communal kitchen well equipped. Kitchenette in room. We were able to find street parking nearby (phew). Aircon and skylight with controls. Courtyard was nice to have. The room had good cupboards and kitchenette but was pretty cosy for space. Some mould or grime in places like on the blinds. The showerhead had some functional issues. The communal kitchen was not always kept clean by other residents. Be aware that the fountain runs all night.

• Lynne (9/5): Great little place Easy location - Jeff was great, caretaker/manager Clean. Great facilities and location lol nothing! The only thing I did have a bit of trouble with the WIFI I couldn’t get it to load but not sure if it’s a bad internet area Just needed an electric blanket too

• Gary (6/5): Great location, close to public transport, plenty of cafes in the area. - Lovely Victorian town house with many original features. Rooms very spacious with kitchenette. It was also helpful not having to use a key. The property is close to public transport and Randwick town centre. Shower cubicles were far too small. Nowhere to shave with a mirror, except in the hallway.

• 怡瑱 (8/5): - 廚房設備完善，有儲藏櫃、冰箱冷藏、冷凍、微波爐、烤箱、氣炸鍋……，最棒的是有一台咖啡機可以隨時飲用咖啡、熱巧克力，還有一個中庭的公共空間可以坐著用餐。 房間不大，兩個人的行李展開後就沒有空間可行走。灰塵有點多，房間裝潢有點老舊。
