Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die Inhaber haben sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben. Extra Frühstück mit Obstteller gegen Aufpreis war kein Problem. Die Unterkunft ist sehr geeignet, wenn man von hier aus Touren zum Poas, La Paz Waterfall Gardens oder zB Sarchi starten möchte. Sehr empfehlenswert und bei unserer nächsten Reise nach Costa Rica ist das Casa del Cafe fest eingeplant. ./.
- Elsenbeck (10/5): - This is the second time we have stayed here and LOVE it! We stayed here in 2023 and for 2 weekends this past March. It is close enough to walk to town for food and some shops. The hosts are lovely people and very accommodating. There wasn't anything that we did not like :) Highly recommend staying here!
- Katharina (9/5): Es ist alles so wunderschön . Sehr gepflegte Anlage. - Ich wusste gar nicht, dass man dort frühstücken kann. Der nette Herr bei der Ankunft am Abend hat uns gefragt und wir haben sehr gut gefrühstückt. Mit frischem Obst, Eier , Brot und Marmelade. Der Kaffe war so gar nicht meins, aber das ist Geschmack Sache. Alles ist in einem super Zustand . Es ist sehr sicher und einfach nur wunderschön. Ein richtiges schönes Fleckchen Erde.

- Yanira (8/5): Casa- pájaros - La casa de café, ofrece un oasis para los pájaros en medio de una ciudad, hay árboles frutales, caminar descalzo y sentir la tierra mientras observa los detalles del jardín. Sentarse a mirar el atardecer en medio de los árboles hasta que salga la luna, amanecer con el canto de los pájaros y el frescor del aire de montaña, en un apartamento que se ve igual a las fotos. No ofrecen una opción de degustar un buen café en la casa, posiblemente porque me hospede "1" noche.

- Kevin (9/5): Great accommodation in beautiful grounds. - We stayed in the cleverly architected studios. Well-furnished, spacious, spotlessly clean and all set in beautiful secure grounds. The owners are also charming and very helpful. We had delicious chicken casserole at the nearby soda el vallee. And delicious chiccarones (not for vegans) near the square in Barva (15mins stroll) - at chicharronera La tipica. Had a couple of beers in Bar BCB mixing with some of the locals on Karaoke (Monday) night ! We really liked the authenticity of Barva in contrast to the tourist resort that is La Fortuna where we are now staying - it’s not terrible but is more about amusing the tourist rather than revealing the country itself - each person to their own preferences I suppose. Our Spanish is dreadful but we try, and in all of these places in Barva we were met with courtesy and helpfulness The country as a whole, and Barva in particular, has much to be proud of - mucho Gracias. All good.

No te sientes aislado porque la atención es tan personaliza, cálida. La naturaleza que decora el entorno es espectacular, te proporciona avistamiento de aves, pájaros. Oxigena tu día, meditas y puedes hacer tu rutina de Yoga entre el verdor. Existe ese trato muy costarricense mezcla de sencillez, educación, cultura y amabilidad. Debe estar mejor divulgado este sitio en todas las Plataformas pertinentes, hubiese sido mi primer opción desde hace un año.

We only spent the night and left early the following morning. The location a short drive away from the airport was perfect, the house is beautiful surrounded by a big garden, the hosts very attentive and friendly.

The room was huge with beautiful high ceilings and I loved the old wood shutters . The dogs were friendly and really did bother us at all . We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the Mot mots in the trees. Very friendly hosts . I liked everything. Next time hopefully I can sill in the garden more .

We highly recommend the breakfast - it's delicious and you can choose if you would like to eat in the dining room of the farm house or outside in the garden. Breakfast was offered around the family dining table allowing us to share travel stories with other guests. It was a delicious, typical Costa Rican breakfast. The couple were very flexible with arrival time which was much later than anticipated and ordered us a taxi for a check out at 12pm whilst we spent the morning wandering the grounds and relaxing in the beautiful lounge area. Such an oasis in an otherwise busy, noisy and dirty capital city. Would definitely recommend for a stop off before departing or after arriving in Costa Rica via Juan Santamaria International Airport. Nothing to dislike

We enjoyed wandering around their property, taking in all the towering trees that makeup this idyllic yet lively landscape. We especially enjoyed their trio of family dogs and the relaxed atmosphere we felt throughout our stay. Though we travel as a couple, they had flexibility with sleeping arrangements to accommodate families. We plan to return before we have a last farewell to Costa Rica! Highly recommend!

- Linda (10/5): Little paradise only a few minutes drive away from the airport - We only stayed for one night right after we arrived at San Jose international airport. It’s only a short drive away and a perfect location if you need to catch an early morning flight or if you come in later at night. The property is immaculate clean. The owners are incredibly friendly and the property truly amazing. We added breakfast in the morning to our booking and received the most amazing local breakfast with fresh fruit, bread, coffee, juice, homemade jam etc. I will definitely return again.

- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful old mansion set on a huge property with vast lawns, a creek and a section of rainforest. Antique furniture, original artwork and an eclectic mix of ornaments throughout. A delightful place to stay prior to a flight.

The grounds were well kept and full of beautiful plants and different kinds of birds. We chose to get breakfast. It was a large amount of delicious food, served with smiles. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer! Nothing.
- Beatriz (10/5): Exceptional - marvelous property, a real historical gem. the furnishings were exquisite, the whole house and grounds were immaculately kept. the bed was exceptionally comfy, and though this location is very close to the airport and street traffic, once inside the room you can’t hear a thing. lovely hosts, too. everything was fine. just make sure you have cash and like dogs.
- Nathalie (8/5): Beautiful historical hotel with super friendly owners! - the super friendly couple that runs this quaint hotel, the beautiful grounds and historical details make this a super special stay. Good base for visiting nearby cloud forests and near the airport. you need a car since direct surroundings offer little restaurants. luckily we had that so it was a perfect sport for us.
