• Birgit (10/5): Großartig!!! - Nelly ist eine bezaubernde Gastgeberin. Stets um das Wohl ihrer Gäste bemüht, äußerst aufgeschlossen, hilfsbereit und dabei entspannt. Ein Familienunternehmen, geführt von einer starken und herzlichen Frau, so wie man es sich nur wünschen kann. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen!!! Die Lage ist sehr zentral, wenn auch in einem nicht touristischen Viertel. Die Gegend ist "heruntergekommen", aber deshalb auch authentisch. Hier leben wirklich die Menschen. Die Unterkunft selbst war schön eingerichtet und sauber. Top auch, dass es eine Küche mit Mikrowelle gab:) Und die süßen Katzen waren herzerwärmend!!!

Laba vieta, lai apmeklētu visas skaistās tūristu vietas, iepazīt vietējo kultūru. Sabiedriskais transports dažu metru attālumā. Pāri galvenajai ielai daudz, dažādu ēstuvju dažādās cenu kategorijās. Svētdienā blakus ieliņā vietējais tirdziņš ar svaigiem dārzeņiem, augļiem, sieru un daudz ko citu brīnišķīgās cenās. Pati istaba tīra, kārtīga. Ērti matrači, laba gultas veļa. Dvielis, halāts un čībiņas. Laba virtuve kurā var pagatavot ēdienu. Tīra vannas istaba. Katru dienu mūs apciemoja viesu namā dzīvojošie kaķi, viens pat labprāt gulēja mūsu istabā, gultā kājgalī. Kaķi labi kopti, tīri, mīlīgi. Draudzīgi saimnieki, labprāt atbildēja uz mums interesējošiem jautājumiem.

• David (9/5): Excellent place for more budget minded travelers. - Nelly is a wonderful and kind person who welcomes travelers like family. The building itself is older, but the room, kitchen, bath setup is very nice and cozy. 10” walk to Istiklal, which is very busy tourist area. Inexpensive compared to a hotel.

• Maisaa (10/5): Ideal ubicación y precio - La ubicación increíble. La habitación estaba separada del resto de la casa, tenía baño privado, cocina equipada, un escritorio y dos camas, además de una televisión. Muy limpio y cómodo. Había agua caliente , conexión wifi y un gatito precioso que nos seguía por la casa. Sin duda recomiendo hospedarse aquí. Ideal si lo que quieres es un sitio donde dormir bien ubicado y cómodo. Nelly y su familia muy amables. Muchas gracias. Solo tenemos buenas experiencias.

• Luis (8/5): Very friendly staff and good located in the heart of Istanbul. A big recommendation for the price you pay. - The son of the host was very friendly! The room was quite big and was only five minutes away from the Main Street. They have a sweet cat and fulfil every wish you have. We could wash our clothes for 300 Lira. The hostel is next to a pretty steep hill and is located in the 4th floor. If you are older or unathletic it could be an issue. We had two water failures but they didn’t last longer than 1 hour, and it’s normal for Istanbul.
• Cyrielle (9/5): - La chambre était très propre et confortable. Nous avions même une télé avec Netflix, Youtube et autres. La salle de bains commune était également propre et agréable. Nelly s'est montrée extrêmement disponible, accueillante et toujours prête à répondre à toutes nos questions et à donner ses bons conseils et adresses. On a en plus eu le plaisir d'avoir la compagnie de son adorable chat qui venait tous les jours nous rendre une visite ronronnante. Un bonheur !! 🤗

• Charbel (9/5): Perfect stay thanks to a lovely staff and a warm cat 🥲. Just few minor things to fix in the toilet - - The cat is a sweetheart. I miss it already 🥲 - I love that the room and the bathroom have an unlimited supply of heating and hot shower water ! Other Istanbul hotels I stayed at were stingy when it came to proper heating and the hot shower water finished quickly ! At Nelly's, all you have to do is to turn on the heating and enjoy the coziness on a cold Istanbul night. Perfect for harsh Istanbul winters. - The toilet flushing did not work the first time. Nelly and her assistant were very quick to fix it, and I thank them for it. However, it stopped working again towards the end of my stay. I ended up using the trash bin bucket to flush 🤣. So not a huge deal, but worth mentioning :) - The hot water did not reach the sink for some reason. So washing my hands was a cold experience 🤣. Thankfully the shower was hot!

• Beatrice (10/5): Séjour très agréable, emplacement bien situé, hôte très disponible et serviable. - L'hotesse m'a réconfortée à chacune de mes inquiétudes, car je suis arrivée dans la nuit. Puis son accompagnement a été extraordinaire surtout à mon départ car ma valise était lourde et elle me l'a portée jusqu'au moyen de transport en commun que je devais prendre pour aller à l'aéroport. Elle m'a offert un plat qu'elle avait fait très gouteux, une spécialité turque. Au début, le quartier me semblait vieillot (ancien) mais finalement très proche des transports en commun, même si j'ai tout visité à pied car j'aime marcher... très proche d'une rue piétonne très touristique et luxueuse et en même temps proche d'un axe aux prix plus raisonnables adaptés aux autochtones et à ceux qui aiment préparer leur repas...

• Ivan Ievlev (9/5): 7 ночей у Нелли - Гостевой дом находится практически у Истикляль, при этом надо отойти от нее 5 мин и уже можно оценить колорит того, как живут местные. Нелли - отличная и радушная хозяйка, всегда на подхвате ее родственники, друзья. В близости есть несколько магазинов, включая круглосуточные минимаркеты и богатый на выбор Bonveno. На крыше можно проводить романтические завтраки-ужины. В номере чисто, все есть. В след.раз сюда же приедем! Пару сильных ливней сделали выход из номера не очень комфортным, было мокро и скользко на кафеле - надо бы продумать самотечный слив с верхнего этажа или постелить там настил.

• Richard (9/5): Excellent value and a great location. - Great location close to Taksim Square,a major transport hub, but in a side street so it was quiet at night. Nelly was very hospitable serving us tea and a fresh slice of cake upon arrival. Our room(s) were quite small so there was no room for a chair to sit on. But this is a minor point as we had comfy beds that could serve that purpouse.

L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter Istanbul tout en étant à l’écart des rues bondées et on trouve dans ce quartier des cafés et restaurants à un prix très honnête. Nelly est une super hôte, bienveillante et de bons conseils. La salle de bain partagée pourrait être un peu plus propre.

• Anna (9/5): Great stay in Central Istanbul - We had an absolutely lovely stay at Nelly's guesthouse. It's located centrally near Taksim square and close to some bus stops and a market, yet in a quiet street. The room was perfect and also the common facilities were well kept and spacious. Nelly is a lovely host and it was nice to meet her and her family, although we didn't spend much time in the guesthouse. Nothing in particular.

• JOEL (3/5): pas cher mais on comprend pourquoi ... - le personnel agréable odeur de chat dans le couloir, quartier populaire , beaucoup de bruits toute la nuit, des klaxons des hurlements, une rue sale, une vue sur des poubelles et un dépotoir, 4 ème étage sans acenseur, très difficile, un petit déjeuner au prix fort vu la piètre qualité de l'établissement, une porte fermée le jour du départ alors que nos valises étaient à l'intérieur .

• Serina Gee (10/5): Comfortable, good value, excellent location - Nelly was so kind and welcoming, even sharing her birthday cake and celebration with us! Our room had STRONG air conditioning, and although we didn't have a fridge in our room, there was a big one right outside that was also strong...our drinks got colder in there than the supermarket's! The laundry service is also exceptional and the staff really went the extra mile. We had a wonderful stay. Just know that the guesthouse is on a hill...but that is most of Istanbul! Was not a problem for us.

• HYEONG KYUN (9/5): - 위치가 탁심에 가까워서 좋았습니다. 시설도 좋았습니다 위치적으로 탁심에 가까워 좋긴했지만 . 숙소가 약간 처음에는 좀 거시기했는데 익숙해주니 큰 문제는 아니었습니다
• Sarah (9/5): Great cozy place ! - We had the private room and it was great ! The microwave and fridge were pretty useful and the beds were comfy. The view at the rooftop is nice and there’s a few cute cats. Nelly was very kind and flexible. We couldn’t have a better host ! There’s a lot of stairs, but to be expected in Istanbul ! Also the door is a bit tricky, but you’ll get the hang of it.

• Susan (10/5): Warm and beautiful stay. - Nelly is the perfect host. Her place is super clean, very well maintained and decorated. Good quality. Super well equipped with everything you need. The bathroom and kitchen felt private. Her staff is very accommodative and present Nelly is there to help you 24/7. She is the kindest , warmest person we've met. We spent an evening watching the sunset from her terrace , had a delicious dinner she cooked for us , sharing our memories! Very well located, few minutes from everywhere you wanna be. Public transport options are 5 mins away. We would definitely come back to stay with her again. Depends on the floor you stay. The private rooms are on the 4th floor. We didn't mind it one bit. They help you with the bags!

Super Preis-/Leistung. Es war nachts immer wieder laut vor dem Haus. Mit Ohrstöpseln.. geht das. Ohne wacht man jedoch immer wieder auf.

• Velislava (10/5): Comfort and cozy - If you want to feel the real spirit of Istanbul, this is your place. Extremely cozy and you can feel like home, with Nelly's delicious dishes and the pleasant atmosphere. Very clean, good internet, good location, parking space, delicious homemade food and very cozy.
• Kathirgugan (6/5): Pleasant - - We stayed 4 nights, the price was very affordable and so it was good value for money. - The staff are very friendly. The owner and her son speak very good English and were very helpful. - The room came with an equipped kitchenette, it had a microwave oven, refrigerator, plates, cups, utensils and hot water kettle. - The bed was comfortable. - WiFi was stable. - There is a smart TV with streaming services but Netflix and prime didn’t work for us. - Although the guesthouse is close to major attractions, it was located on an extremely steep and narrow and also very dirty street. Cab drivers are quite impatient and they dropped us off at the wrong location so we had to walk up and down with our luggage looking for this place. If you renting a car and driving up here, it is an absolute nightmare. There is no parking and drivers will incessantly honk at you. - Our room was on the terrace, 4 floors up. There was no elevator. It was really quite exhausting after a long day to climb up 4 flights of stairs. We also had to take our shoes off. Thankfully, the staff helped with the luggage using a pulley. But maybe we could avoid setting our bags down on the dirty road? - The room is quite dated and small and didn’t quite meet our hygiene standards. We also noticed an odour in the bathroom. On the first night, the shower drain was clogged so the water would pool up to our ankles. However, the host’s son was nice enough to clear this up for us. - Soundproofing in the rooms is almost non-existent. We could hear everything through the thin walls and this affected our sleep quite badly. If you’re a light sleeper, it would help to bring some earplugs. Overall, we really liked the service but felt that there were clear areas for improvement.

• Thomas (10/5): Good value - Our preferred accommodation for Istanbul stays. Nelly is the girl you want when in Istanbul. Happy to help, rooms are clean, comfortable, well-equipped. Not new, but not without charm and care. It's basically a good value accommodation with a good host on top of it. Comparing price-value, nothing really jumps out. Clean apartment, comfy bed, wifi, hot shower, ventilation, kitchen. Maybe not the most centrally located for backpackers, and need strong legs for the hills, but also an authentic neighborhood not really overtaken by the development ills closer to Taxim square. Happy to be back here.

I used their laundry service, they washed my white clothes with black ones and it ruined all my white clothes, they went grey color. When I asked the lady that did my laundry, she said I am supposed to tell her that she had to separate whites from blacks, and she said she was in a hurry so she just washed all together. I said my clothes were expensive and asked for a refund, they didn’t provide any.

• Dominika (7/5): Pleasant hostel but a little bit shady neighbourhood. - The hostel was quite pleasant. The room was ok, nice bathroom, small kitchen facilities. The room was quite small. The entrance was from the outside terrace doors. Shady neighbourhood and noises outside in the night.
• Ke (10/5): Sweet and warm place to stay - Nelly is really helpful and thoughtful. The two cats are the best sweet heart I have ever seen. There are a kitchen in the third floor. The bathroom is clean all the time. The heater is warm. The bed is comfortable. They prepared the towels and bathrobes, it's really convenient to me.

We didn’t get any new roll of toilet paper for a day and a half and impossible to get in touch anyone from the staffs and no one was around.
