• Marleen (9/5): Heel prettig verblijf in een charmant hotel in de binnenstad van Mindelo - Ontzettend mooi en charmant hotel. Wij verbleven in een kamer voor 3 personen met aangrenzend een badkamer. De kamer was zeer ruim met comfortabele bedden. Het hotel heeft een zwembad op de binnenpatio (kan wellicht wat lawaaierig zijn voor de kamers die hieraan grenzen) en een dakterras. Ontbijt was inbegrepen! Onze badkamer had geen douchescherm of -gordijn dus de vloer werd nogal nat en daardoor glad, maar dat kan zo verholpen worden.

• Gildas (10/5): - Nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu séjourner dans cette merveilleuse maison pour une histoire d’avion qui ne pouvait atterrir à cause de la brume sèche, mais le personnel a été très réactif et surtout très compréhensif. Merci pour votre bienveillance. À une prochaine fois.

• Krista (8/5): Sfeervol verblijf in Mindelo - Prima locatie, in het centrum en dicht bij de haven. Prachtig gebouw, met binnentuin en rooftopterras. mooie ruime kamer en service en hulp van de medewerkers was geweldig. De kamer was nog al donker, iets meer licht zou praktischer zijn.
• Petr (10/5): Vřele doporučuji všem, tohle ubytování vás uchvátí a vezme vás sebou do dob koloniálního času. Mají tam skvělé snídaně. - Ten koloniální dům byl naprosto výjimečný. Ta atmosféra uvnitř byla skvělá. Nic podobného jsem ještě nikde neviděl. Personál byl super, při odjezdu nám zařídili i odvoz na letiště. Postel měla super matraci. Za celou cestu po Kapverdách sem se nikde tak dobře nevyspal. Opravdu úžasné místo. V koupelně úplně neodtékala dobře voda, takže když se tam vysprchovali 4 lidi, celá místnost se proměnila v bazén. Holt stará budova má i své mouchy, ale to byla jen taková drobnost.

• Gertie (8/5): Fijn verblijf in oude centrum - Goede lokatie in het oude centrum in een origineel koloniaal gebouw. Dicht bij verschillende restaurantjes. Strand wat verder, maar ook te lopen. Leuk klein zwembadje. Meer een plungepool, maar wel lekker. Fijn bed. De badkamer is heel erg klein en het wasbakje voor tanden poetsen, handen wassen echt veel te klein en onhandig.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. Great central location! The rooms were a little dark. It would be nice, at breakfast, if they told you that you could order eggs. We didn't learn until we asked on day 3.

Nice to have a pool in a place so central. Good breakfast, multiple options. Comfortable bed and good cotton sheets. Encourage water ecology in handily explained signs. Excellent location for exploring Mindelo. Held on to our luggage after we checked out. Fast internet, good signal in the room. The pool is quite overlooked by the rooms, and quite small. It looked quite clean but we ended up not using it in the end.

• Marco (9/5): Superb - The staff were very friendly and helpful. They sent a taxi to pick us up from the airport and Veronico, our taxi driver, happened to be a tour organiser on Sao Vicente and on Santo Antão. He was so knowledgeable and made our 3-day stay (between those two islands) perfect. We had time to go on two hikes and still discover Sao Vicente. +++ The beds were exceptionally comfortable
• The (9/5): Comfortable old skool but ultra modern stay in city centre - Comfortable old skool but ultra modern stay in city centre, a few interesting streets from the centre. We only stayed a night, but that was fine, huge festival going on in the city centre, so we joined in and had such fun. Room large, cool and understated style, bathroom fine, hot water etc, all good, Linen all fresh and plenty of it. Staff laid back, breakfast the usual, but enough of it, and the pool hidden in the centre of the house a decadent indulgence after the dusty Mindelo streets. we only had the one key to the room, two ( one each) would have been helpful, but a small moan for an otherwise fine stay.

• Murielle (8/5): Very nice place to stay to visit Mindelo and Soa Vicente. - The place is stylish, very well located, beds are comfortable, staff is very helpful. Nothing we did not like but one point to notice. One thing to know is that credit cards are not accepted and it was not very clear on Booking. It ended up being tricky and unsafe to withdraw cash on our last day. It could be clearer.
• Mafalda (9/5): Superb - The hotel is a beautiful colonial house with a patio at the center and a small pool. The staff is welcoming and the kitchen ladies are really nice! The room was very comfortable and clean. At the last day, as we were leaving really early they were really kind and prepared us a breakfast sooner than scheduled. Though the staff was really nice and kind, they weren't truly helpful in giving us information on where to go, where to eat or what to see. They have some flyers and books at the reception but they would not provide you with many tips, even if you ask for it.

Very convenient to all attractions. Rooms don't have air conditioning, only fans. Had to pay in cash when checking out.

Wij hadden de ongelooflijke pech dat er veel lawaai was wegens een nieuwbouw op een belendend perceel. Er is ook een kat. Ik ben daar allergisch voor, maar wist dat niet op voorhand.

Staff could be a little better informed on what to do, attractions, dining/going out and rooms have no A/C (which is fine), but the fan could be stronger as well as the shower could be better designed to keep water only around the shower and not the whole bath - anyway, it is a 2.5 star classified; so you get what you pay - still, clean and great location!

Quiet location and wonderful central pool to cool off after a hot walk. Rooftop sitting area if you want to see the views.

La chambre n'est pas en reste avec son magnifique parquet et ses lumières tamisées. La petite cour intérieure est propice à la détente même si le jour de notre visite elle était vidée (ce qui était d'ailleurs assez dangereux car non balisé). Seul bémol: la douche froide comme dans bien des hôtels au Cap Vert ☺️
• Verified traveler (10/5): Sfeervol mooi en centraal gelegen - Iedereen is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam in dit prachtig gerestaureerde oude huis dat is omgebouwd tot boutique hotel. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is prima, de kleine kamers zijn wel echt klein, maar voor een beetje extra heb je een mooie grote kamer. Toen wij er waren was het zwembad niet in gebruik.
• Peter en Els (10/5): Great boutique hotel, go there!!! - Casa Colonial is the place to stay when in Mindello, Sao Vincente. Located near the port and the Presidential Palace in a quiet street. Its a little gem in lively Mindello. Beautiful rooms with their own bathrooms. A courtyard with a little pool to cool down. Beach chairs to chill and benches to write your memoires on or have the extended breakfast they serve each day with bananas from their own tree. Samira and her staff is absolutely lovely and they will go out of their way to make you feel at home, yet they are invisable enough to guarantee privacy. A roof terrass to retreat in the warmth of middays. Trust me this a the place to be when you are lucky enough to get a room. No airco but a ceiling fan that does the job together with the louvered doors to the balcony overlooking the ccourtyard.
