Guest Reviews
- Trish (10/5): A perfect two‑day girls’ escape filled with laughter, luxury, and exceptional facilities that made every moment feel eff - The house was very spacious, the facilities were excellent. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and inviting. Loved the location and it’s proximity to the town centre. There was nothing not to like.

- Lee (8/5): Lovely old home location good. Disappointed - no TV broken antenna / broken toilet so just some TLC needed - Location was good beds were comfy. Great sized rooms and three bathrooms Toilet broken , No TV as the antenna is broken on the roof Mice in the house Wifi didnt work
- Julie (10/5): We loved it and would stay again - Wonderful location with a property with lots of character Patio setting needs an upgrade
- Samuel (8/5): -
- chirani (10/5): - Location, Spacious, Clean,
- Catherine (10/5): Gorgeous house, location and town. - Being in a beautiful historic house that was able to accomodate all my family and felt like we were in the country yet able to just walk into the lovely little town of Tanunda.
- Philippa (9/5): - Great location, lovely home with outdoor seating area. Very comfortable,, warm and basic essentials provided in the kitchen. Would recommend. Thankyou.
- Dimitria (10/5): A terrific place to stay, would definitely recommend. - Grand guesthouse, excellent location. The bathrooms were modern, and the house itself was spacious and comfortable. Lovely back yard to relax in. No complaints - a couple of extra bath towels would have been handy :)
- Liz Hunter (9/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): - Great location, plenty of space, comfortable beds, lovely garden A few minor matters but didn't really affect our stay
- Julia (10/5): Loved our stay at the Barossa Valley Guesthouse. Nicola was so accommodating and helpful. The house was gorgeous, comfor - Very comfortable and cosy. A beautiful historical cottage with all of the amenities. Nothing!
- Christine (9/5): Great location and plenty of room for 4 couples - Fabulous location - walking distance to Main Street in Tanunda No WiFi and only improvement would be to have ensuite bathrooms and not 3 x bathrooms that can only be accessed via the hallway or outside access
- Stuart (8/5): Everything was fine for all of us, we would stay again. - Great location, very comfortable place to stay, ideal for 3 or 4 couples. Kitchen was well appointed. Plenty of firewood if you needed. Perhaps a bigger TV.
- Ros (3/5): Sorry but we won't come again. - It was a good location. Every bed in the house has to be thrown out and new ones installed, every one of us had issues with the beds. There was inadequate hanging space for our clothes in every room. The wardrobe in our room was completely full of bedding so we had to use the hook behind the door and over the wardrobe door. We were there to attend a wedding so we all had our very best clothes to wear. The cracking in every room was dreadful and you need a stylist to come and arrange the rooms to look more welcoming. The kitchen needs to be gutted and a new one fitted and better lighting installed.
- William (9/5): Great place for a family gathering - Surprisingly spacious and charming. Three decent and roomy bathrooms. Well equipped. Lovely fire. Nice back lawn etc. Like every property there’s some maintenance items (not urgent). The dishwasher stopped mid cycle but we didn’t mind washing by hand. A power point in the front room doesn’t work (heater and light).
- Rachel (9/5): Would definitely plan to come back for next Barossa vintage!! - Location close to main street,
Easy to access
Good for families Internet didn't work but that was fine as we weren't there for that
- Carl (7/5): Good - Positives - Great large rooms, timber floors, comfortable beds, clean linen, great clean, modern bathrooms, excellent location, parking inside premises.
Negatives - Very Dirty! Cutlery, tea towels, BBQ not cleaned, living room and kitchen were dusty, dirty kitchen cupboards, used scheming gum in a draw in the living room,TV remote needed new batteries, small TV. Large cracks in the plaster in most rooms which are not shown in photos.
With a clean up, the property would be acceptable given the age of the building.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (6/5): Pleasant - Great location. Except for kitchen it was a good size house for 6 adults & 3 children. Back yard for kids to play While it is a very old home it needs some TLC. Dining chair seats were sagging. Bed frame creaked. One toilet buttons broken.
- Pete (8/5): Very good -
- Francoise (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing place to stay - Beautiful old home. We all enjoyed our stay. Close to Main Street and supermarket. Had everything we needed. Air conditioner was wonderful and the place was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable and has nice big backyard with bbq and dining table .
Free wine tasting at The Chateau Tanunda was a treat.
Awesome communication and lovely staff.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back
- Melanie (9/5): Great stay, would definitely book again - Great location, beautiful house, well stocked Wasn’t a fan of the enormous huntsman LOL
- Ae (9/5): Superb - The view was truly stunning, it was such a joy looking out at the vineyard every day.
The location was really convenient as it was only a short walk to cafes and the local supermarket.
The house was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay.
- Lauren (8/5): Lovely stay in the heart of Tanunda. - Love the big old building, it was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and two bathrooms were great for our group.
The heating was great, the house stayed really warm. The queen beds were very hard and creaky. We had babies and the noise would wake our babies when we rolled over in the night.
- Donella (7/5): Good -
- Anna (8/5): gorgeous well worth a stay -
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Jenni (5/5): Size and location of house were good, but damage and lack of provisions made it feel cheap - Size of the house and location are great. The outdoor setting - most of the chairs were broken and dangerous to sit on.
Food - there were no provisions. Every other house I’ve booked through Booking.com and Airbnb in Barossa, Clare, McLaren Vale have come with some basic provisions.
Kitchen- no tea towels or paper towels.
For the price it just seemed a bit cheap to have these issues.
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Gregory (8/5): Very good -
- Elsbeth (8/5): Very good -
- Susie (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (9/5): Location Location Location. - Stunning location in a very comfortable home close to town. Dark hallway with squeaky floorboards, but its the charm of this cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
- Greg (8/5): A very happy family get together with plenty of room for adults and children alike - Size and location the bed in the bedroom with adjoining wall to lounge was very uncomfortable
