- Isabella (10/5): A great hostel with lovely, friendly staff. Couldn’t recommend enough! - We booked this hostel last minute whilst attending bonanza festival at Rio hostel. It was perfect for that only a 5 minute moto taxi away. When we arrived I had a burn from the mototaxi and they were so caring and helped clean it with antiseptic and aloe vera. Beds were so comfy and the rooms were very clean. Genuinely great hosts!

- Isabella (9/5): Nice hostel but not much to do - Staff were suuuuuper lovely (they don’t speak any English but with my limited Spanish and google translate it was ok), room was big, clean and had shower/toilet attached to the room. Breakfast was decent and outdoor space was nice The listing says there is a pool but this has been filled in!
There is basically nothing in this town - it is easy to access El Rio hostel from it via mototaxi
- Frances (6/5): Good and cheaper option than staying at El Rio. - Big room and excellent air con. Great spot for going to El Rio Hostel for the parties, likely to meet other travellers there doing the same thing. Basic hostel and breakfast. 20 min walk or 5 min moto taxi from El Rio, Buritaca town and Viajero hostel. Very little to do in the area so you only need one or two nights there maximum. No shower head on the shower.
- Antonia (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Jamie (8/5): Functional private room, ideal base for El Rio all night excursions and recovery afterwards - Location perfect for a night out at el rio, but without having to stay there! On the basic side of life, and not as good as the photos (like everywhere in colombia), but does have a good pizzeria downstairs and a booze shop over the road, so no complaints really. Check in was a bit of a faff, thankfully I speak enough spanish that any issues were ironed out, but I did have to help a few other guests who had no idea what was going on due to the language barrier.
- Chelsea (6/5): Pleasant -
- James (1/5): Bad - I was told an hour before I arrived that the private room I booked was no longer available and I would be given a dorm room instead. When I got there the lady at reception told me that I didn't have a booking at all, even though I could see my name written in the book on her desk. I was then told that I had a booking but that I couldn't sleep anywhere and she wouldn't explain to me why not. I don't usually give reviews but the people running this hostel were awful and I had to book far more expensive accommodation for that night.
- Karsten (3/5): Very little sleep because of the roosters. The bed was very firm and not very comfortable. - It was a good location. There were roosters crowing right outside the window at all hours of the night. Also, the hostel worker got very confused during the check-in process and mixed up the rooms at first with someone else checking in at the same time.
- Chiara (7/5): Good - It served its purpose of a night to rest and recover. The staff was friendly. The room was fine but basic. Not the best value for a private room but it got the job done and I slept well.
- Mauricio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moran (10/5): Exceptional - Staff all friendly and very helpful
- Vlad (7/5): Good - Good hostal in Buritaca. Friendly staff and willing to help, with good breakfast. A little bit too pricey for what you get. Not the cleanest place either.
- Gabrielle (10/5): Lovely hosts, delicious breakfast and great location! - The hosts were lovely and went out of their way to help us. The free breakfast was also delicious!
- Lili (9/5): Lovely people, comfortable stay - If your staying in Buritaca this hostel is great!!
The bed was super comfy, breakfast was good, the staff are all really nice (and the beautiful dog Sasha). We were given a room with aircon which was great. They have a restaurant that offers great pizzas and other foods, including lots of veggie options. They also helped us to store our bags whilst we visited another hostel a bit out of the way. All in all it was perfect for our short stay. Our bathroom floor was always a bit wet, but it wasn’t a big deal we just wore our flip flops…
- Bibiana (7/5): Good - Close to el Rio Hostel if you want to party and free breakfast was nice! The shower didn’t have a curtain so the whole bathroom would be wet
- Kayleigh (10/5): Exceptional - Hostal Baruch is really like a home from home, the rooms are clean and comfortable, all the staff and pets are awesome, it's got a great vibe and really good food. Highly recommend if you're partying at el Rio, you can have your pre drinks and hangover there.
- Mindy (5/5): Didn't spend much time at the hostel as there was no reason too. - Good location, aircon in room nice and cold.
Unfortunately power out one of the days so I couldn't charge my phone. Wifi didn't work, which meant I missed out on a good price for booking flights. There was only one toilet and shower for the whole place. Pool was a portable pool and it didn't look inviting at all.
- Allison (7/5): Good - I only stayed one night after a party at Rio, was perfect for that. Bed was comfy and there is a cute backyard area to hang out. Close to little markets and restaurants and the bus stopped right outside. Super convenient.
- Declan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): super friendly, would definitely stay there again! -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay if you wanna party at Rio hotel. The place is cheap but comfortable, run by adorable people. Bonus: you will find very cool party people to drink with before your night out here. Nothing
- Olivia (8/5): Basic but fine - Good location in buritaca 20 mins walk from el rio. Everyone staying there (basically) was heading to el rio for the party, so all had some drinks and walked over together. Nice private room. Wifi was very bad, didn’t work in room. Power cut half the day so was verrry hot without fan
- Chloe (10/5): Lovely people and nice clean place - Nice friendly staff.
They let us leave our bags for a few days whilst we camped in Tayrona National Park.
Shop across the road.
They also arranged a taxi for us and when we returned they helped us flag the bus down. Nothing
- Stefano (6/5): Good location for getting around, overall very basic facilities. Breakfast is eat what you get type of thing, very basic - Good location Very basic breakfast, very basic room , not even a wardrobe, very expensive for what it was.
- Milan (5/5): Passable -
- Kay (6/5): Pleasant - I got a private room which was very nice
Close to El Rio party when that place is fully booked Limited social facilities
Reception’s a bit rude - didn’t give me correct change for my stay and replied with ‘do you really need the 2 mil?’
Breakfast serving time is only 1 hr
- Lawliet1190 (7/5): Good - Nice place, workers are very nice, the place
- Frank (8/5): Good Valuable for Money! - Good air-conditioning/room/breakfast/price
- Isabella (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here to go to the Rio hostel party and also have some private space and a nice shower after Tayrona. For both these things it was perfect - ideal location and the room was very nice and extremely clean. Breakfast was also yummy. The best part though was the staff who were absolute sweethearts. They really go above and beyond for the guests. Absolutely recommend. Everything was perfect.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place to stay if you are looking to do tubing with Rio Hostel but don’t want to stay in a big party hostel. The private room was perfect for us as a couple and it was clean. The free breakfast was also a great addition :)
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shira (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosie (9/5): chilled stay for a night or two - very chilled Hostel, friendly staff and good place to stay and go to bigger hostels for the parties. there isn’t much around the area. bit of trek to get food
- Chris (9/5): Superb - We stayed here during Bonanza festival 23. The positive festival vibe was all over the place. Owner and staff supported this.
- Ivan (10/5): extraordinary experience with a great price - The staff is awesome. They provide a great experience. The food was extraordinary and they have excellent vegetarian and vegan options no hot water in the showers
- Marcin (10/5): Exceptional - this hostel is super nice if you want to party but also rest, it’s better to just take the mototaxi to Rio instead of booking there. The stuff is super friendly and helpful, you can feel here like with the family. I highly recommend!
- Carina (8/5): Very good - Good hostel, nothing special, much cheaper than Rio and very close,
- Natasha (7/5): Good -
- Diana (7/5): no one opens the door after midnight, so you won’t be able to get in 👎👎 - was easy to find we arrived around 2:30 am from a party and no one opened the door to us, one of us need to enter from the window, if we wouldn’t do that probably we needed to sleep outside, very bad
- Claire (3/5): Poor -
- Joe (1/5): Do not stay here - There was one man on the reception that tried to help us. We booked one apartment and three dorm beds. We we're given one apartment with 5 beds squashed in. One with no sheets or pillow. The woman on the reception had no interest in helping us or even talking to us. Awful service just trying to cram as many people in as possible.
- Alistair (7/5): Good -
- Sebaskrod420 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harani (1/5): Bad - I went to sleep and in the morning all around my bed i had ants, the showers and the bathroom is in the middle of the dorm so its really inconvenient, when i first got there the reception told me to wait a minute and i waited for 20 minutes until the cleaner told me where is my room, and the breakfast was not good at all
- Daniel (3/5): Poor - Not much. Staff gave us a candle when the electricity went off for two days. No bedside lights or tables. No soap or showrhead (pipe in wall). No generator to cover blackouts. No common area other than pallets in reception. Far too expensive for what you get.
- Dante (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (8/5): great! - tasty breakfast, comfortable beds!
- Laila (8/5): Very good -
