Guest Reviews
- Eleni (10/5): - We had an amazing time there! John was very helpful!! He even left bottles of water and coffee for us! The location was good with a tram nearby if you don't want to walk.

- RIvalta (10/5): I would definitely recommend this place for the owner’s hospitality, its convenient location close to the city center, a - John, the owner, was wonderful. Always very attentive and kind. He offered water, fruit, coffee, and chocolates, which was a lovely touch.
The location is excellent and the view is beautiful. I truly highly recommend this apartment.
Without a doubt, it was the best place I stayed at. There is some construction in the neighboring buildings, so if you’re very sensitive to noise, sleeping in past 10 a.m. might be a bit challenging. That said, John provides earplugs, which are very helpful in reducing the noise.

- Marco.
- Renata (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam! The location is excellent, very convenient for getting around. The host was super friendly and helpful — he even gave us bikes to use during our stay, which was amazing. The apartment has everything you need: a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, a fridge, a kettle, and all the necessary utensils. The view would be beautiful if there weren’t construction works going on at the moment, but that didn’t bother us much. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and highly recommend this place!

- Prue (7/5): A fairly basic but very comfortable suite at the top of some extremely steep stairs. - A nice outlook over a canal.A good size bathroom. A good location for walking everywhere. There are extremely steep stairs to get to the apartment but the host was kind enough to take our bags up. If you have any mobility issues you should not stay here.

- Aslı Asuman (9/5): The Kindest Host in Amsterdam - Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The house is located right by the canal with a stunning view — peaceful and truly authentic. John was an incredibly kind and welcoming host, always smiling and ready to help.
The room was spotless and very well-equipped: there was an iron, extra pillows, water, coffee, shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, mousse, toothpaste — literally everything you might need during your stay.
It’s rare to find such a clean, cozy, and well-prepared place with this level of hospitality. Highly recommended! 🌿 The only thing to note is that the stairs are quite narrow and steep
- Mihaela (10/5): -
- Aram (10/5): Real perfection - The view was perfect, I loved everything Only the stairs 😅 which was fine bc it’s AMSTERDAM

- Peeters (8/5): - Free bikes to use, nice location & view from the room. Could use a deep clean. Room looked clean on first hand but soon you start noticing small things.
- Francesca (10/5): -
- Constantin (7/5): - John was very friendly. The mattress comfortable and good. The location is good. Good trade-off between central and calm. Plus, there was air-conditioning. There were quite some mosquitoes. John said he would install a net, but nothing happened. There was a construction site in front of the house ( starting at 07:30am), could have been mentioned. Hygiene could have been slightly better.

- Vratislav (10/5): Superb. 🎉 - Great host. John rented us bikes for free, which is absolutely essential in Amsterdam. The room was amazing, it had so much more than we expected. Shower gel, shampoo, tooth paste, coffee machine, coffee, tea, ironing equipment, AC. So good. Totally recommend it to everyone. The only thing was there was some construction going on on the street in the morning, but that was absolutely fine and not John's fault, of course. We were really happy with our stay.
- David (10/5): Exceptional hospitality from a great owner!!! - Highly recommend John the owner was a great guy...let us checked in very early in am. bcs s.o. had checked out early he cleaned the room up ready when we arrived and also let's checked out a little late and stored our bags. The room is big and very clean with lot of espresso coffee and tea. Some plates and bowls and utensils to use..few restaurants and supermarket are very close by.. some public transportation within 5 minutes walk..nice canal view from the room. At this moment there's lot of nearby building improvement construction so expect some noise in the morning. But once it's done the area will be very nice ...
- Philip (8/5): Brilliant host, great views, amazing bed & pillows, great location, would definitely stay again - The apartment was in a great location for exploring Amsterdam, it was close enough in to walk everywhere but far enough out to get away from the crowds. We were arriving by train and caught the 18 bus (the 21 is good too) to NW Williamstraat (you have to walk upstairs at the train station to where the busses leave) John, the host was excellent, always on hand, he lives in the apartment down stairs (you have your own private entrance though) he responded really quickly, gave us lots of advice and even agreed to us borrowing his bikes, we were a bit scared due to how busy it was so didn’t in the end. The apartment had two large windows and a double door window with a Juliet balcony overlooking the canal, it was lovely to watch the boats go up and down. The apartment had full sun all day. The bed and pillows were amazing, best nights sleep ever. There was a Dirk supermarket just around the corner which stocked most things. We didn’t eat out locally so can’t comment on local restaurants. If you get ill the Tourist Doctors (recommended by John) are brilliant, it’s basically a doctor in a chemist, we had UK GHIC cards but still had to pay for medication and the chemist dispensing charge, around 60 euros. A couple of things but to be honest they wouldn’t put us off from staying again.
There was a loud booming noise from outside which was a bit strange to start with until we realised it was the trams going over the bridge down the road, it’s a bit disconcerting to start with but in the end you just get used to it and most of the time you’re out anyway. Nothing John can do, just got to live with it. It stops at night when the trams stop and starts again first thing in the morning so not a big deal really.
There was building work going on along the road so some noise from the builders arriving in the morning, parking outside the apartment smoking and chatting. Again nothing John can do about it.
- Avneet (7/5): Good -
- Katie (8/5): Very good - It was nice to stay right on the canal. The room was just the right amount of space. I liked being near the Jordaan neighborhood. There was unexpected noise from the tram at night going over the bridge. Probably wouldn’t bother most, but we’re somewhat light sleepers.
- Mona (9/5): Superb -
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zuzanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Litkovskaya (10/5): Super rest! - I really liked the view from the window. A big advantage is the presence of a bath, it relaxes well after a long walk. Localization is super. 15 min walk to the center. The Van Gogh Museum, Madame Tussauds Museum are half an hour away. Pleasant apartment owner. The Wi-Fi was not working well
- Georgia (9/5): Great position, great host, great city! - Great position. The apartment has everything we needed. Very friendly host. We loved it. .
- Mariana (5/5): Ok - The property is beautiful, but being basically in the city center of Amsterdam and not being able to smoke was surprising for us. We had a booking at another property that allowed smoking, but we decided to stay here because of the view. However, as soon as we arrived, we were informed that the facilities were non-smoking. Not being able to smoke was disappointing. The room had huge windows, but it was non-smoking. When reserving the room, I didn’t notice whether it was advertised as non-smoking or not, but I definitely wouldn’t have booked it if I had seen this beforehand.
- Christina (9/5): Clean and cozy - The room was clean and the view at the canal was nice. The host was really nice as well, he left some bottled water in the fridge for us and i could leave my luggage after the check out if needed. My only-minor- issue was that the lock in the apartment door was a bit difficult to open. Needed to try a bit for it.
- Turgay (9/5): Superb - All needs were carefully met There was no slippers and stairs are very steep
- Ilia (9/5): Superb - Stunning view
Coffee and tea - nice bonus
Host is super friendly
TV and Wi-Fi works fine
Location is good Optional - it would be good to have microwave oven
IMPORTANT - The stairs to the apartment are not for beginners, keep it in mind
Soundproofing is not good
- Melnikova (10/5): Exceptional -

- Linnea (9/5): Superb - Everything was great!
- Sandor (9/5): Superb - John is very kind host. Great location and view to the canal. Bed is comfy, the room is clean. there are signs of use on the room and facilities, but they are generally in a good a condition
- Richard (9/5): Great location , nice big windows, well equipped. All as described . John very helpful. Many thanks - Lovely view and good location. Nice bright room All good
- Lola (10/5): Incredible studio apartment right in the heart of Amsterdam! - I had an incredible time here! John was absolutely lovely, and super helpful, offering a bike, showing me around the accommodation and going through all important details. The room itself was amazing, the view is incredible! The location is only a 15 minute walk into Centraal, and close to cafes, restaurants and shops. The facilities were great, especially the bath!!
- Hittner (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is super thoughtful. Cables for different phones, basic meds and lot of toiletries, coffe, drinks in the fridge. Everything for your comfort. And the view from the appartment is georgeous. Some renovation is overdue, but we can say that it gives to the charm of the appartment 😀 Not a huge complaint. A microwave would be a nice thing to have.
- Harsha (10/5): The property was on a great location! The steps to go up are pretty steep but you get used to it the same day itself. Me -
- Godon (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic welcome from John who got in touch with me privately to check on arrival times and made me feel super welcome when I made it to the property. The owner lives on the other side of the wall of the room you'll stay at.
A bike was even available for me to use to go around in the city.
Loved having a little fridge to keep my milk cold :). N/a
- João (9/5): Superb -
- Anas (7/5): Good - Nothing except the staff Everything
- Anonymous (10/5): Super responsive and accommodating staff. Gorgeous place and location. Felt very welcome and taken care of. - Beautiful view ! Just as pictured Stairs are a little steep but pretty normal for Amsterdam
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krystyna (9/5): Superb - Everything is great. What is the most important - blackout curtains. A very nice owner, coffee and tea in the room, very clean, enough space for clothes in wardrobe. We have asked for second blanket and got it at once.
- Cihan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naum (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location, comfortable room and bathroom. John was very friendly and helped us with moving luggage upstairs, with extra towels and advices.
- Kaneko (10/5): Amazing, thank you so much :) - Our host was very helpful and gave us advice on renting bicycles and helped us carry our luggage.
They responded immediately to my questions and made my vacation very pleasant. The stairs are steep, so be careful if you have weak legs or feet.
- Joni (10/5): Canal view, well equipped and wonderful host. - The property was clean and well equipped plus walking distance to all tours. The big bonus was the view of a canal from my window. The hosts were also very responsive. Steep steps to get into the apartment
- Ivan (8/5): Very good -
- Williams (8/5): Very good -
- Babsamod (8/5): Very good -
- Jordan (5/5): Passable - The staff at this hotel were undoubtedly hospitable and lovely, which added a warm touch to our stay. However, it's important to note that there were a few small issues that slightly impacted our overall enjoyment. Firstly, the smoke alarm seemed to be overly sensitive, going off every time someone showered, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the towels had a noticeable musty smell, suggesting a potential issue with cleanliness. Ventilation within the accommodation was lacking, resulting in a lingering odor throughout the property.
Furthermore, accessibility to the premises was challenging, which might pose difficulties for some guests. Additionally, the ongoing construction on the street and the presence of litter at ground level were notable downsides. Despite these minor drawbacks, the friendly staff did their best to make our stay pleasant, and with some improvements, this hotel could offer a more comfortable experience.
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional - John was a fantastic host. Beautiful location.
- Hanna (9/5): Clean and nice place with beautiful view - John was friendly when shows us the apartment. It’s clean and nice. The view is adorable! Near the city centre and transport.
- Gabriela (8/5): Very good -
- Z&r&g (9/5): Superb - Super friendly host, helpful and informative. Lovely room, comfy bed, all the facilities you might need like hairdryer, iron, showergel, toothpaste etc. Loads of sockets all over to plug things in Great area, close enough to anything you want to do but just out of the hustle and bustle so you can relax and sleep in peace. Could have done with more towels, only 2 for 2 of us for 4 days (would have liked one for my hair too) and no hand towel either.
- Upasana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eran (9/5): Superb -
- Kristine (7/5): Comfortable, clean, quiet and convenient location. - Location was quiet, yet close to everything.
- Arthur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debra (8/5): comfortable stay out of the hustle of the city - John the host was amazing! very helpful with Check-in going through everything with us. very well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. it’s a little noisy with canal works and the tram crossing the bridge.
- Beatriz (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, great view, super comfortable and clean. highly recommended!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giulietta (9/5): Lovely stay in amsterdam - The room was rather big and comfortable, especially the bathroom, the view is direktly over one of the canals. You can reach the city by foot in around 30 minutes, by tram in around 10 minutes. Around the stay there are a lot of nice restaurants and caffee you can easyly reach by foot. The owner was realy nice, the check in is easy. The room has a bit of a problem with temperature, by day it gets realy hot, und by night realy cold, there or the blankets were a bit thin, but nothing you could not handle. And it could have been a bit cleener.
- Bruck (7/5): Good - location stares
- Josh (9/5): Superb - A wonderful room on a beautiful street in a quiet and chilled part of the city. A 10 minute walk from a fantastic neighbourhood full of really high quality cafes and restaurants, where you can sit and watch the world go by.
Maybe a little too far from Centraal station if you want to walk everywhere, but Trams are easy and it’s a lovely neighbourhood to walk around.
The room is clean and has a fantastic view.
Highly recommended.
