• Solvita (10/5): - We were warmly welcomed and served by a very kind host. After a long hike we were quite tired, and he kindly agreed to prepare dinner for us as well. The rooms were spacious enough and comfortable.

• Gunela (10/5): - The location is simply out of this world! We loved sitting in the garden looking at the truly awesome mountains and the daily farm activities. The food was mainly from home produce, delicious and in abundance. The hiking was superb and our hosts were welcoming. Having to leave!

• Megane (10/5): - Guesthouse au milieu de cette magnifique nature. Déconnexion totale. Le repas du soir était délicieux avec des spécialités locales. Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et la literie très confortable. C'est ce dont on avait besoin avant de commencer notre randonnée sous la pluie 😉. Et surtout, un personnel vraiment à l'écoute, qui aime recevoir. Si nous sommes de retour en Albanie, nous reviendrons avec plaisir!

• Guest (9/5): Exceptional hospitality, beautiful garden - The lawn and garden surrounding the property are stunning. It’s such a beautiful place to relax with a drink after a long hike. The dinner was delicious and fresh. The best part is the communication and service. The brothers we interacted with took care of everything we needed, including an early departure and taxi. They got up early to make us a to-go breakfast. We were touched by their kindness. Our bottom floor room was pretty dark, but we spent most of our outside anyway. Shower is really small.

The dinner and breakfast were devine, with most, if not all, the food produced by the owners themselves from their land and animals. Owners were very helpful and attentive to everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay.

L’esmorzar que la dona de la casa ha preparat. I que elabora ella a casa ( formatge, melmelades, ous de gallines criades per ells mateixos…). Per últim el jardí. L’allotjament no és cèntric però val la pena fer l’esforç d’arribar-hi. No haver conegut també l’amfitriona. La dutxa no està massa ben protegida i terra del lavabo es queda moll.

That, however, is nitpickikng. Otherwise, the room was really clean and cosy!

• jappe (10/5): Must stay in valbonë.dont look further - After a long theth-valbonë hike this was the perfect little slice of paradise to rest after the hike. Very good food and really nice room. The people where very nice and helpful. The only tip is to grab a cab (couple of euros) from the end of the hike to Mehmeti as the 6km walk is not worth it. But Mehmeti is so worh it, don’t stay in one of the touristic places but enjoy the garden with chickens of Mehmeti. All was good

• Othman (10/5): Love the place and surroundings natural. People are very nice and helpfu. Adding credit card iwill be excellent insteadc - Family business run the place in excellent way. Very helpful to give us a lift to their property. I respect the family and they smile and feel like my home. The view from the garden and back is mountain is wonderful. I see the family special Mondy’s mother is very active. She cooks the dinner and breakfast and every thing is home grown. Good place for recharge and relaxing. We understand the place off the road and needs help to get to the place. Also, inner road is not paved. Room door makes sound and Need som oil for lubricant.

• Stephen (10/5): Amazing place. - What an amazing place. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we felt right at home. What a great location right under the mountains and so peaceful. Chickens roaming in the garden and you can watch the cows come in after sunset and then they get milked for the butter and milk for breakfast The food was amazing and all sourced from their own garden. They recommended a great place to swim and a four hour hike to a viewpoint which was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place if you are coming to Valbone. Nothing

• Carla den Dekker (10/5): Fantastisch - Omgeving was prachtig. Personeel was super lief. De twee koeien / kalven zaten vast aan hun nek in een mini stal waardoor ze niet konden bewegen. Zo stonden ze dag en nacht. Konden niet liggen. Vond dit triest om te zien omdat er ruimte genoeg was bij de guesthouse.

• Cornelia (9/5): Authentic local stay with amazing views and without hustle and bustle of the main street - Tranquil, well located for hiking, fresh and healthy food, authentic local guesthouse with super welcoming and helpful staff. This is the third time we have stayed here and we will be happy to stay here again. My husband had accidentally left behind his walking shoes, and the hosts very efficiently helped source a replacement. The guesthouse is exactly what we wanted from this stay - the butter served came from the cow in the back garden shed and the honey from the bees buzzing round the fields near us. Dinner is served for 15 Euros a person; breakfast included, as is parking. This is not a five star location, but that is precisely what makes it what we were looking for.

It was a great way to end the hike. The family who run the guesthouse are very kind and helped me hugely when my hiking shoes broke. They managed to find someone who sold me some new ones (very difficult as there are no shoe shops in Valbone) and saved my holiday! Would recommend this place to stay. Location was a bit far from the Valbone-Theth trail so added a bit of time to your walk but worth it for the delightful stay

• Franziska (10/5): Idyllische Unterkunft mit hervorragendem Essen - Einfach nur toll! Wir wurden herzlich von der Familie in Empfang genommen. Das Holzhaus mit 4 Zimmern steht in einem schönen Garten mit freilaufenden Hühnern. Das Abendessen wurde ebenfalls im Garten serviert und war sehr lecker und üppig - besonders die Bohnensuppe. Das meiste ist selbst angebaut und gekocht. Ebenso das Frühstück - Milch frisch von der Kuh, Tee, Wasser, Pancakes, Feta, Gurken, Tomaten, etc. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, aber geräumig. Da die Unterkunft etwas außerhalb von Valbona liegt wurden wir für 30 Euro bis zum Trailhead Ragam (über das trockene Flussbett) gefahren. Wir waren rundum mit unserem Aufenthalt zufrieden.

• Vera (8/5): Fijn verblijf in Valbone - Heerlijke rustige omgeving, prachtige tuin om te relaxen. Heel vriendelijke mensen die enorm hun best doen het je naar de zin te maken. De afstand naar het begin van de hike naar Theth! Daar hadden wij ons wat op verkeken, maar dat is nog een flink eind (1u lopen minimaal). Wij hadden aan de eigenaren gevraagd of ze ons konden brengen. Dat kon, tot het eind van de asfaltweg, vlak voor de droge rivierbedding was gratis, hadden we helemaal naar het beginpunt gewild moesten we daar iets voor betalen, maar dat vonden we niet nodig. Uiteindelijk stonden we met 15min bij de start.

The hosts were kind enough to book me a car to the beginning of the Valbone to Theth hiking trail and gave me a packed lunch in lieu of the breakfast that I missed because I was setting out to do the hike. Can’t recommend this homestay enough.

• Guest (10/5): - Fantastic guesthouse in a picturesque setting. Peaceful and quiet, away from the main center of Valbona. Rooms were spacious and well supplied, with all needed amenities. Both breakfast and dinner (15€) were delicious. Hosts were very helpful. From the house you can take a trail through some lovely woods to a small pond. Tables on lawn provides a nice place to sit outside. The only potential negative is the distance from the trailhead to Theth, if you are heading to or coming from there.

We were doing the walk from Valbone to Theth and they organised a 4WD to pick us up and drive us to the start of the trail which saved hours walking on the road and dry river bed.
• Kenneth (10/5): Very nice guesthouse and host. Two thumbs up - The guesthouse was very clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was adequate. Breakfast was very nice. Its location is approximately 1 mile out of town. If you’re hiking the Peaks of the Balkans, please know it’s not in the trail. However, I was able to arrange a transport the next day to drop me off at the Fusha Hotel to start the leg to Theth.

• Dekeyser (9/5): - Heel lieve mensen, als we aankwamen was de mama er maar die kan geen Engels. Maar ze belde direct haar zoon op om even een snelle communicatie via de telefoon te doen en toonde onze kamer al. 10min later kwam de zoon dan aan. We waren hier begin mei voor 1 nachtje en waren hier alleen. We hebben hier savonds gegeten, een menu voor €15 pp. Super lekker traditioneel eten, en veeel. We vroegen ook voor een lunchpakket voor de volgende dag en ook dit was geen probleem, was €4pp. Smorgens kregen we ook een uitgebreid ontbijt, zo konden we onze wandeling naar Theth goed starten. Wij hebben gevraagd om ons af te zetten aan het begin punt van de hike. Er zijn eigenlijkn2 opties: starten aan de droogliggende rivier, of nog een eind verder. Wij hebben gekozen voor dit eind verder aangezien we met al onze spullen in de rugzak naar Theth gingen wandelen + het stuk door de droogliggende rivier is niet zo makkelijk om door te wandelen, maar het kan. Je kon ook drankjes kopen (frisdrank, bier,...). Zeker een aanrader want ze doen heel hard hun best dat je niks te kort komt
• Andrea (8/5): Heerlijk rustig verblijf in de prachtige bergen, weg van de massa - We werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en zeer uitgebreid. We hebben ook heerlijk gedineerd. De omgeving is prachtig (wij kwamen om te wandelen en van de natuur te genieten). Je komt daar helemaal tot rust. Wij zouden zo weer boeken. Een fijne en kleinschalige accommodatie! Niets. De kamers zijn eenvoudig, maar comfortabel. De foto’s geven de situatie goed weer.
