Thank you for the free upgrade too, that was huge! Beds were small. Basketball was deflated. There wasn't a pump to inflate the ball.
- Catherine (10/5): An exquisite property in the heart of Dubrovnik's city center. - The Byron's location within the city walls is private and quiet while being at the heart of everything. To say the property is gorgeous is an understatement .. it's absolutely magical. Beautifully appointed, lovely mix of new and old (for example, armoires hide a microwave, refrigerator, cooktop and electric kettle), with excellent water pressure in the shower and the most comfortable beds--linen sheets, down pillows and comforters. Exquisite! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again and again. Jon and Jay are lovely, attentive, communicative hosts. We loved everything about the property and our stay.

- Laurence (10/5): - Our stay at The Byron in Dubrovnik was absolutely outstanding — John and his team went above and beyond to provide warm, personal service, helping us by providing a beautiful last-minute accommodation when a flight cancellation stranded us for an extra day. The rooms are spotless, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, and their shop, Life According to KAVA, is a must-visit for cute gifts, great craft beer, and excellent coffee. This is officially our new go-to place to stay in Dubrovnik.

Check in procedure was easier than we were expecting. Very easy to get breakfast in the cafe next door to The Byron. A very minor niggle but we messaged the host with some questions and failed to get a response.

Our room The Cathedral Room had stunning views of the Cathedral and also a well equipped kitchen too. Even though we were very central, we weren’t disturbed by noise. We loved everything!

- Amarraj (9/5): Lovely location, rooms and facilities - Great location in the heart of the city and beautifully decorated, with comfy beds and fluffy supply of towels. Providing slippers were a nice touch Unfortunately due to the central location,despite being on the highest floor (attic room) the noise from outside at night disturbed sleep on both nights. Not sure if windows can be modified in anyway to minimise the sounds more but it maybe difficult as it’s an old, boutique building.

Then we our room was ready we were guided there by Mariana, who helpfully pointed out locations/ sights as we went. The Byron was really well located, a few steps from all the main things and as described , it was a quiet spot. The accommodation lived up to expectation and I have no issues with fully recommending to future potential guests. Can't think of anything.

Attractively furnished and helpful staff We rented via Booking. Com and although expensive good value given its location and excellence. - Yves (10/5): Exceptional - The Byron has a great location in an old very beautifully renovated family house, next to the cathedral. It is removed from the bustle of the main plaza but still very close. The oddity is that the checking is not at the hotel but in a shop located outside the walls of the old city. Once we got there the staff could not have been nicer in showing us the way to the hotel (a short walk, with no serious steps to speak of, which in Dubrovnik can be a serious obstacle for disabled people). They have answered our many queries with grace and helpfulness. A great place to stay and get the feel of what it could have been to be living in Dubrovnik two centuries ago without the hardships of the time !

Highly recommend! - The communication before our check-in was excellent - both about how to check-in, but also delicious restaurant recommendations.. It clearly outlined where we needed to go to considering the hotel doesn't have a traditional lobby. The check-in was easy. We were escorted to the hotel - along the way we were given recommendations about breakfast options, gelato places, and some history of the town. The room was very well-air conditioned - considering it was August and extremely hot outside, it was a welcomed relief. The decor was charming, the kitchenette was clever and very well-stocked. The building was in a quiet part of town and didn't involve too many steps to get to. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom well-stocked with amenities and the shower had good water pressure and warm water. Our stay was incredibly comfortable and well-situated in the Old City. Highly recommend!

The Byron felt like coming home— unique decor, wonderful air conditioning, very comfortable room with everything we could need, amazing swim spot off the walls within steps, Jon was so helpful in orienting us to favorite places to eat, and the coffee shop was perfect for bag storage before check in and after check out.

- Cherie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful space, felt like you were staying in a chateau. A/C was great and refreshing after long hot days in the city. Steps to restaurants, and swimming spot yet still quiet. The host Jon was very welcoming and helpful. He set up our very early morning transfer to the airport. This is really tough because we loved everything ! Coffee was supplied in the room but required using a french press. We chose and preferred to go out and get our coffee and people watch in the square.
- Dimity (10/5): Exceptional experience living in th eold town. - A beautiful stay in the old town. Close to sites, swimming from cliffs and restaurants. Hostess was so friendly and helpful with loads of useful information put together by her husband. The interior has been beautifully presented with a common lounge room for a rest from your room. My room was equipped with cutlery, crockery, fridge & a jug so was able to do my own breakfast having bought supplies from the supermarket less than 5 minute walk away. Loved living in the old town & getting lost in the laneways, The Byron made this happen. I didn't mind the walk from the checkin shop and walking up stairs to the building and then to my room on the top floor as I travel light & am physically capable, but worth mentioning would not recommend if you aren't.

- Jindriska (9/5): Heart of Dubrovnik - The Byron is situated in the historic heart of Dubrovnik only several steps from place where is possible to swim in the sea. Beach towels are provided in the room .Our roomwas spacious with two comfortable beds, mini kitchenette. excelente bathroom with spacious shower. There is comon living room with sofa. Thre is possible to book parking place for 50euro per night. No bottle of water in the fridge ! Noise from the pub nearby during the night, but not so bad when you close the window.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great room, great location, wonderful offsite staff, nice job on interior decorating, no on site staff, but for us there - The location was excellent. Just steps to everything in Old Town Dubrovnik. The staff was great and very welcoming. We loved the tasteful yet whimsical interior decorating scheme as well. We liked it all. It should be noted that we rented the Attic room which meant we had to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs. Also, you had to check in just outside the Ploce gate, but it was a very easy process and you can’t drive cars in Old Town anyway. All of this was disclosed before we rented the room so we were OK with it. If you have mobility issues the Attic room is not for you.

Right in the middle of the old town of Dubrovnik, however just off the most touristy streets, in a quiet street, so you will sleep well and the bed was amazing. The Owners & also super friendly and helpful Nothing at all. Would stay again

Visit their coffee shop “Life According to KAWA” to store your luggage if the room is not ready for some great coffee.

- Yasmin (7/5): Nice stay - Jon was amazing, nicely decorated and great location. Cockroaches in the room, staff did offer us a different room and removed them straight away. No lift for luggage - an old building but something to be aware of. On the pricey side for a room.

We had a small kitchen area, lots of space, and a very comfortable bed. We were met by a Byron host who walked us to our room and gave us a great run down on things to do. A bonus is the ability to store luggage at the host's shop just outside the walls - free of charge. You really get a great sense of history staying in an old building that has been renovated superbly. Nothing

The Byron is located in the old town surrounded by history, tours, activities and delicious restaurants! The hosts were incredibly helpful, extending far beyond the call of duty. They helped in arranging transport, made sightseeing and fantastic restaurant recommendations. An incredible experience and will definitely seek out the Byron for our next stay in Dubrovnik.
