Cocina con todo tipo de utensilios, cacerolas, sartenes, vajilla, etc. y todo tipo de electrodomésticos, microondas, nevera, tostadora, etc y un gran comedor

Unfortunately some really inconsiderate guests on our last night who were really noisy and leaving lights on well past midnight. Singing in the shower ect. Not the hosts fault but frustrating. The pillows were not comfy at all on the bed and the kitchen could have been cleaner. Ultimately though it was basic and what we paid for did the job for a short stay.

Somehow the price showed us are higher than we booked. After we showed our booking price, they will correct it immediately. I booked twice in one week and it happened twice.

Die Unterkunft ist im gesamten (insbesondere der kleine Garten und die Gemeinschaftsküche) eigentlich sehr gemütlich, weshalb wir uns hier schnell wie zu hause fühlten. Unser Doppelzimmer hat pro Nacht 39 USD gekostet und wurde sehr fair in argentinische Pesos umgerechnet. Aufgrund Kreditkartengebühren vor Ort sollte man die Bezahlung besser in bar vornehmen. Fazit: insgesamt haben wir uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, auch wenn Verbesserungen angebracht wären. Die Wände sind extrem hellhörig und die Küche könnte ein paar Nachbesserungen vertragen: so fehlen bspw. Kochlöffel und Pfannenwender. Stattdessen muss man mit Metallbesteck in den Pfannen rumkratzen, was deren Zustand erklärt.

• Hannah (5/5): - The owner was nice. There is a great kitchen space if you want to make your own food. It was just exceptionally basic. The bathrooms were a bit grotty and the door to the room was a nightmare to lock. I booked a bigger room because it was cheaper than other things locally but it made it poor value for money for me.

• Elliot (10/5): Loved it :) - Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the room was nice, the shower was good, the staff were lovely, the location was good, the whole property was very well kept, tidy and beautiful. It was all amazing, the only small thing that comes to mind is that there was hand soap in the bathrooms the first day and then it disappeared, it being replaced would have been appreciated, but its a really small detailed, we loved our stay.

• Laura (8/5): Un alojamiento sencillo, limpio y cómodo - El local está bastante limpio y ordenado. Pero lo mejor es la hospitalidad de las dueñas del hostal. Son unas instalaciones sencillas que no tienen persianas en las ventanas. Aunque hay cortinas no terminan de impedir que pase la luz por las mañanas.
• Gustavo (9/5): Ótimo lugar para ficar em El Calafate. - O quarto é pequeno, mas muito aconchegante e bem aquecido. O banheiro é compartilhado, porém sempre estava limpo e organizado. O chuveiro tem água quente, assim como as pias, o que é essencial em Ushuaia. A anfitriã foi super solícita e nos ajudou inclusive com o transfer de ida e volta entre o aeroporto e o hostel. A localização é excelente — em menos de 5 minutos de caminhada você já está no centro da cidade. Recomendamos essa acomodação a todos os viajantes! O único problema que tivemos foi com a cortina da janela, ela estava solta e quando abrimos ela caiu, era um ferro pesado, caso atingido a cabeça, poderia machucar.

I was unable to pay with a credit card despite asking several times. The owner insisted that I pay in cash. As it was not possible to withdraw enough cash in El Calafate, I had to use my emergency dollars. No hooks to hang clothes in the room.
• Clare (9/5): A great option in el calafate ! - We stayed in a family room even though there were just two of us so we found the space very good. And we got extra pillows as a result. The property has two bathrooms which were both spotless and had good working showers. For a shared bathroom property, it felt like we had our own en-suite. The location is good, just a small walk off the main road in el calafate. The kitchen is a great size and the fridge was well organised for sharing with other guests indicating a shelf per room, more hostels should do this!! So simple. The kitchen was spotless too. Would definitely stay again. Nothing really

The cleanliness of the place was spotless really, especially having in mind you are sharing the bathroom. Totally worth the money and we can definitely recommend it! The internet was always breaking, the pillows were quite uncomfortable and the sound isolation is practically inexistent. We could hear someone just walking pass the room and it felt like they were in the room. Also, it was chilly in the mornings (when it was 4 degrees outside), even though there was a heater in the room.

• Claire (5/5): Passable - Close to restaurants and shops on the main street. Friendly owner I had read it wasn't soundproof, but it is so noisy we barely slept. When we arrived we had someone elses retainers in our bedroom bin!! There are only two bathrooms and at times the bin was overflowing with toilet paper. The bed was really uncomfortable and the pillows were even worse. There was a lack of obvious places to store food in the kitchen apart from in the fridge.

• Janaína (4/5): Get it only if you’re desperate - Staff was ok, didn’t have much contact actually, only on payment. Room and bathroom were clean. Room was very insecure, the only window was facing the internal corridor and did not have any lock or something, so anybody could open and see inside your room when you’re not there. Corridor lights were left on no matter how many times you turn it off making the room very bright to sleep. The room was super hot and you don’t have control of the heater and what supposed to be a window from the pictures is actually a wallpaper. Noisy people coming and going all night long walking like dinosaurs in a not-very-well built floor. Main door to outside was kept unlocked and was actually opened one of the nights.

Very large well equipped kitchen, and a good social area, would recommend for your stay in El Calafate. Wifi in the room was a bit slow but worked perfectly in the kitchen/social area so wasn't a problem.

• Marie (9/5): Great place to stay in El Calafate - We had the big familial room for 2 and it was awesome ! the room was big and the heating was working really well (maybe too well it was too hot!). Wifi was functioning perfectly and the shared areas were cleaned very regularly. The kitchen is big enough for everyone and well stuffed (there is even a big asado) Travelers staying there were noisy at night...But that happens in every hostel right ? Despite that, everything was great. It would have been great to have towels though.

• Polina (10/5): cleanest and loveliest hostel! - the owners are so lovely and they really thought everything through. The kitchen was great and so practical and the rooms were cozy. The bathrooms and the kitchen were cleaned several times a day - very clean and tidy!
• Anna (9/5): Superb - Pretty good wifi - I was able to work remotely and hop on video calls with multiple participants, and access iCloud and keynote. At times, I would get a notice that my connection was unstable, so videos would automatically turn off. But I think this would be one of the best places to work from in El Calafate. The location is excellent, and the family who runs the hotel is very kind and helpful. I had a wonderful time. The kitchen in my unit was also well stocked with a pan, pot, salt and utensils. The gas heater gave me a slight headache. No other complaints.
