• Schokokeks0815 (5/5): Improvements needed for better stay - - Beautiful view - Enough blankets for the cold nights - we had to ask for nearly everything: toilet paper, towels (we only got 1 for 2 people)... - the shared bathroom is an adventure: not much water coming out the shower, no shower curtain, broken tiles and bad walls, the door needs to be fixed - you can't close it properly and it is 2 cm wode open... - pancake for breakfast are good, but quite a small portion - you need to know that you have to go outside to go to breakfast / bathroom - probably fine in summer, with cold and rainy weather not so practical - there should be a light installed outside - quite dangerous to go to the bathroom by night, going down the stairs without any light - I think in the title it says shared bathroom but in the details it says private bathroom...

• Maria (9/5): Bien - La habitación era agradable y más calentita de lo que pensaba. El personal fue muy amable porque nos hizo el desayuno antes de la hora. La ducha tenía muy poca potencia y con el frío que hacía se hacía un poco duro. Pero en general bien.
• Justine (2/5): Chouette endroit, dommage que l’accueil soit très peu sympathique. Chambre et salle de bain partagée glaciales, frileux - L’emplacement et la terrasse L’accueil, franchement antipathique. Nous avions réservé une chambre avec salle de bain privative mais en arrivant la dame nous a dit que chez elle il était indiqué que c’était une salle de bain partagée. Aucun sens commercial, elle nous a traités de menteurs. Nous avons accepté la chambre avec salle de bain partagée (au prix de celle avec sdb privative..). La salle de bain/toilette se trouve loin des chambres et ce n’est donc pas très agréable de sortir dans le froid en pleine nuit pour s’y rendre. De plus il n’y en a qu’une pour plusieurs invités donc il faut souvent attendre son tour. Le dernier jour la toilette était bouchée et la dame n’a pas voulu la réparer car elle a dit ne pas avoir le temps

The shared bathroom could do with renovating but it works well for a simple and - The family that runs it are very sweet and checked in to make sure that we were having a good time on the island. The banana pancakes for breakfast were amazing every day! The shared bathroom could use a renovation as the door is 2cm open when locked and there is a hole in the floor. The terrace shown in photos exists but there are no tables are chairs there.

• Kellin (7/5): Será que a vista compensa? - A vista da janela. O banheiro fica longe do quarto e com chuva isso fica muito ruim. O café da manhã é fraco para quem pretende fazer caminhadas, apenas uma panqueca com banana e uma opção de bebida (café puro ou chá de coca, não pode pedir os dois, achei a coisa mais estranha do mundo isso depois de um mes viajando pelos andes).

Bon petit déjeuner et chambre confortable (beaucoup de couvertures pour avoir bien chaud). Attention : après l’effort le réconfort car l’hostel se trouve tout en haut de l’île, il faut donc un peu grimper avant d’arriver à cette jolie vue :) Salle de bain vraiment rudimentaire.

• florent (6/5): - La douche chaude et la literie propre. Le petit déjeuner excellent. Les photos ne correspondaient pas forcément à l'état du lieu. Beaucoup de travaux ( pas de terrasse comme sur la photo, la chambre qui mériterait un rafraîchissement).

• Fanny (7/5): Beau et simple - La vue sublime depuis la chambre face au lac. La chambre était simple mais bien équipée avec eau chaude. Petit déjeuner assez light. Attention au prix affiché en dollars sur booking qui est indicatif car ne correspond pas au taux de change appliqué ce qui fait que nous avons payé plus cher la nuit.
• AGNES (5/5): Séjour décevant - La vue magnifique depuis la terrasse. Chambre vaste. Petit déjeuner soigné. La gentillesse des hôtes. Froid glacial dans la chambre, pas d’eau chaude. La conversion du prix de la chambre en devises boliviennes ne suivait pas la taux légal (beaucoup plus élevé ).

• ingrid (3/5): - El lugar solo te ofrece donde quedarse, no pusieron ni siquiera papel en el baño, el desayuno notablemente improvisado, no hubo algo de esmero en la atención, deja mucho que desear la relación de atencion y precio. Tomar en cuenta y sobre todo captura o foto de la pantalla donde sale el precio en bolivianos, ya que estando en el lugar quieren cobrar lo que se está cotizando el dolar paralelo en el mercado.

• Micaela (5/5): Some setbacks, but a spectacular view - The room was clean, comfortable, and pleasant, and the view from the hostel was stunning, providing a beautiful backdrop for our stay. The breakfast was enjoyable and a nice way to start the day. Upon arrival, we had to climb uphill to reach the hostel, which was inconvenient after a chilly trip. When we got to our room, there was no water in the bathroom, which was frustrating. We felt that the price was relatively high compared to the overall service provided, and the lack of communication from the hosts along with the water issue left us with mixed feelings. It might be ideal to slightly adjust the price to better reflect the overall experience.

• Becky (7/5): Incredible view, lovely staff, secure. Rustic but does the job - Amazing view, lovely staff, great breakfast. Safe, hot and powerful shower. The walk up is HARD. It wouldn’t be bad at all if you take an overnight bag, we stupidly brought our huge 20+kg bags which was a nightmare (not the property’s fault!) The bathroom being across the courtyard is a bit of a pain in the night but no biggie. Flush was temperamental but they did sort it and I mean you’re on a traditional remote island, don’t expect 5*!

• Oakley (10/5): Beautiful host family, incredible views, lovely room - highly recommend - Absolutely loved our stay at Hostal Tawri! A beautiful host family, incredible views overlooking the lake, alongside a super lovely room that felt a little luxurious when travelling for a long time and was well equipped. Yummy banana pancakes and coffee for breaky! Wifi was a little weak in the top level rooms. Be prepared for a steep 15-minute walk up windy rock trails and stairs, which was a little fun considering the altitude! But well and truly worth the incredible views and amazing accommodation.

• Chelsea (7/5): Would recommend - Very comfy bed, and lots of blankets. Good breakfast. Upgraded to the room with a private bathroom however and would advise to do the same as the room was nicer than the others. Great views for sunrise! Not the best shower, not much water available. Patchy WiFi but it’s what’s to be expected on an island so not really an issue. Issue with check in that no one was there for a while so would advise to liase either host when you’re due to arrive.

• Anna (4/5): Disappointing - The view and size of room are pretty decent Apparently breakfast is at 9am and we asked if we can have it at 8am as we wanted to trek early on. They denied because it was carnival period and they wanted to celebrate, so they gave us bananas. We were the only guests that night. No towels or soap provided. The floor in the bathroom had a big stain of a liquid resembling old, sticky pee. Thank god it was only for one night stay.

Asking for more money than the pre payment. Everything was terrible from the start. It’s not like in the pictures.
• Nuno (3/5): Not good experience - I liked the location of the property The toilet was outside the building and not very well developed, keeping it not comfortable at all. Breakfast was very basic and the bread was not fresh. The pictures of the advertisement did not represent the room i had.

Imagine you are stuck on an island as a solo female traveller and then they want to charge you 10 times the prize, knowing that the last boat has left and you can't leave. This was the worst experience I have EVER had. A nightmare, really. This was an absolute nightmare! The host increased the prize 10 (!) times upon arrival. Worst travel experience ever. Stay away.

• Alexandra (8/5): Very good - Great view across the lake, short walk to village/restaurants/view point. This hostel is near the top of the hill (so be aware if you're coming here it's a good walk upwards to get there! But that means you get the good view!)
• Winifred (7/5): Great location, beautiful room - Beautiful private room with gorgeous view of the lake. Also close to many walking routes and restaurants. The initial hike to the property is very long and steep - would not recommend people come with big backpacks like I did!

Bathroom is quite far away from the rooms, and you have to walk outside - not the nicest on a cold evening. WiFi didn't really work in the room. Breakfast was fresh but not very nice - pancakes with flavourless chocolate spread and similarly flavourless coffee.

Was sometimes missing toilet paper too We didn’t get any towels so we didn’t shower

• Joseph (8/5): Very good - A small hostal run by an extremely friendly owner. The hostal is based on the south side of the island in the yumani community, close to several local run restaurants. It's also convenient to access the island's north route. Good value The rooms are small as compared to others for the same price. Please also note extra charges apply to access the communities and ruins on the island (10 Bolivianos per community)
