• Ulrike (7/5): Für eine Nacht ok, aber ein längerer Aufenthalt auf keinen Fall. - Die Lage ist super zentral. Man kann zu Fuß starten, allerdings ist der Ort auch nicht sehr groß. Der Gastgeber ist sehr kommunikativ und hilft bei Fragen gerne weiter. Die Betten sind durchgelegen und das Kissen ist wirklich unbequem. Das Haus selber riecht etwas müffelig. Das Frühstück ist ok und soll in der Gemeinschaftsküche die Kommunikation unter den Gästen fördern. Allerdings sind die Aufstriche und Beilagen billigste Qualität und der Gastgeber macht den Eindruck eines Selbstdarstellers. War mir alles ein bisschen zu viel...

• Kirsti (9/5): - Alles was das Wanderherz begehrt, inmitten des zauberhaften Dorfes Schmilka. Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Inhabergeführtes Haus mit gutem Frühstück, genug Bädern und WCs. Zimmer mit allen ausgestattet, was man braucht. Sehr empfehlenswert. Ich komme wieder.

• Christina (10/5): - Wir wurden von Robin sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist zudem sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und ist ersichtlicherweise ein Herzensprojekt.
• Theresa (7/5): Sehr freundlicher Empfang, gemütliches Zimmer und für einen Kurzaufenthalt super! - Die Lage ist perfekt, um direkt für eine Tour in der Sächsischen Schweiz zu starten. Parken kann man direkt an der Hauptstraße und läuft dann etwa 150m zur Unterkunft. Leider gibt es nur ein Badezimmer, das sich alle Gäste teilen. Für ein bis zwei Nächte ist das aber in Ordnung.
• Frank (8/5): - Leckeres Frühstück in der Küche zusammen mit anderen Gästen und mit netten Gesprächen. Gastgeber Robin ist ist sehr hilfsbereit und hatte an den vier Tagen immer gute Reise-Tips für uns. Meine Kinder fanden das Frühstück bei und mit Robin super angenehm.

Würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ist sicher individuell, aber uns war die Matratze zu weich. Sonst absolut nichts zu beanstanden. :)

Das separate Frühstückshäuschen war das Sahnehäubchen zum Abschluss unseres Urlaubes. Die Treppe ist sehr steil, das sollten ältere Gäste beachten, für uns war es eher ein Abenteuer. Der Dusche fehlt die Kopffreiheit.

• Lisa (10/5): Great place for hiking the Malerweg - The location in Schmilka was fantastic. What made our stay here was the host Robin. He was very warm and welcoming at breakfast and had all the guests laughing. The room was a great size and right on the Malerweg for hiking It wasn't clear what room we were supposed to stay in on arrival as we let ourselves in and had not been given a room name but this was something very minor on a great stay!

• Antje (9/5): Unterkunft mit Herz und Seele - Es ist für uns als eher praktmatisch Reisende (Wanderer und Radfahrer, auch Trekkingtouren) die passende Unterkunft in Schmilka. Alles notwendige vorhanden, sauber, und mit Robin als herzlicher Gastgeber und Seele des Hauses ein unkomplizierter Aufenthalt. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal hier. Danke Robin und bis zum nächsten Mal.

• Sarah (8/5): Fint ophold hos meget venlig vært - Hyggeligt B&B hos den mest imødekommende og servicemindet vært. Rent og pænt værelse samt fællesbadeværelse. Værten sørger for en hyggelig fælles morgenmad med husets gæster. Hjælper gerne en med forslag til vandreruter etc.

• James (5/5): It was OK overall but the extra blankets is a quick fix - Room was big, with en suite. Didn't mind the steep stairs. Quiet location. There's a pay-and-display car park across the main road. Breakfast was OK; met and chatted with other travellers at communal table. No info sent so had to call on arrival to find our room (owner was away). It wasn't warm in the night and duvets were very thin. Wardrobe just had a single extra blanket and we were three in the room; pillows not so comfortable; we didn't sleep so well. Didn't enjoy being asked to pay additional money next morning - tourist tax, levied on each guest, inc. kids (I'd assumed all that stuff was included in price, as it has been for any other place we've stayed - gotta check the small print!). Place is pretty dead after 7.30 - no food/bars.

Need to call host to check in so be prepared with a German phone or calling app. We stayed in a top floor room so limited headroom. I couldn’t stand in the shower due to low ceiling. Stairs were almost vertical so not for the faint hearted. Breakfast was nice but limited choice.

Dat is erg gezellig. Heel goed ontbijt! We hadden het koud in de kamer. De bedden waren erg zacht. De badkamer heeft een prehistorische outfit en is toe aan renovatie.

Not so much an issue, just more for awareness * Not an issue with the accomodation, but be aware that a Friday night in Schmilka doesn't offer much in the way of dinner options. Ended up at the local walkers bar (great!), which was closing at 7pm!

I appreciated a special room for bicycles where I was able to park my Thule Chariot (sport stroller) and the baby chair at breakfast. We had a great chat with Robin!
• Suzanne (9/5): Warm-hearted place, not many frills but has all you need - Lovely little B&B with a great and very welcoming owner. You likely end up having breakfast in his kitchen! The location is superb, directly on a few trails leafing into the mountains. Secure bike storage too if you, like us, get here on the beautiful Elberadweg.

• Mikhail (9/5): Cozy hut in the middle of nature - Very cozy views from the windows. Wood in the rooms smells magnificently. Very friendly host, who prepared a breakfast for us. Breakfast was quite unusual, it was held in a kitchen on the one big table with the other guests and the host himself. Schmilka is a small picturesque village, so finding a hotel innit was easier than getting to the village itself.

I had a great conversation with the owner and other guests over a homey breakfast in the kitchen. Everyone was very friendly. N/an all was good, but some people might find it too informal depending on what they’re used to.
