• Toruño Granados (9/5): Lo volvería a escoger - Me gustó, que no pasamos frío, habitación cómoda para unos días, se descanso muy bien, no había ruido; el desayuno típico de la zona, bien. Muy amable don Reynaldo, siempre muy atento y respetuoso. Como sugerencia, la tina del baño es un poco alta y para salir estaría perfecto alguna Baranda para salir más seguro. Gracias por su hospitalidad! Volveremos! Todo estuvo bien!!!!
• Martina (10/5): Tranquilidad y confort - La habitación es súper confortable, espaciosa, muy limpia, la cama comodísima ideal para descansar bien. Excelente limpieza, y amabilidad en todo momento, ofrecen toallas extra, y son muy atentos con el desayuno, dejándote pronto cuando sales antes de hora. Cocina muy completa, a menos de una cuadra hay 2 o 3 almacenes para hacer compras diarias. La posada es muy tranquila, se descansa súper bien. Los dueños la atienden excelente. Gracias! No hubo nada que no me haya gustado. Como sugerencias recomiendo que podrían ofrecer bicicletas para ir hasta el pueblo más fácilmente y ampliar los espacios comunes con alguna terraza al aire libre, al sol para pasar el rato fuera de la habitación. (El espacio común que tiene es bajo techo).

• Gabriela Sirlei Da (10/5): Obrigada aos queridos proprietários, a estadia no hostal deixou a minha viagem ainda ainda mais perfeita - Quarto super limpo, aconchegante, bem organizado e com ótimo espaço. Banheiro novo, bonito, com tudo o que se necessitas para uma boa estadia. Atendimento maravilhoso, eu saí para os passeios todos os dias antes do café da manhã, e sempre tinha um snack preparado para mim. Proprietários super atenciosos e prestativos. Já recomendei o Hostal para amigos que querem ir para SP do Atacama, e eu me hospedaria novamente no mesmo local. Custo benefício excelente. Achei tudo ótimo!

• Nancy (9/5): A lovely couple runs this extremely clean hotel with small rooms. - The hotel was extremely clean and Reynaldo and Gladys were very accommodating in all ways. They really need to stay enjoyable. The communal kitchen is spacious a nice to have, even if you are not cooking your meals. The hotel is located add a two minute walk from a small food market, which is very convenient. The room has air conditioning, which was useful. The room is quite small. At our request, Reynaldo brought in two chairs for us to put our suitcases on. This made it more useful. Also, breakfast doesn’t begin until 7:30 AM, and in our five days, we were always picked up earlier so weren’t able to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. They did pack us a snack, which was nice. A breakfast starting at 7 AM would be nice.

• Valdivia (9/5): Fantástico! - Muy buen desayuno. Es desde las 7am pero hay muchos tours que arrancan antes, asique te dejan un snack para que te lleves al tour. Muy serviciales y atentos a todo en Tulvak. Limpian habitaciones todos los días y cambian toallas. Tienen television, aire acondicionado y ventilador. La ubicación es como a 700 metros del centro. No es en el medio del centro pero igualmente nos pareció super cómodo. Todos los tours llegan a buscarte por la ubicación del Hostal. El perrito del hostal Joe es muy bueno y se ocupan mucho de que no moleste a los huespedes (de todas formas no molestó en ningún momento). Excelente experiencia, 100% volvería y recomendaría. Las habitaciones no tienen ventana a exterior sino a un pasillo interno. No es grave para el tipo de viaje que hice porque no planeaba estar todo el día en el hotel ya que saque muchos tours, pero si tu plan es quedarte mucho tiempo en el hotel quizas puede pesar un poco eso.

El desayuno excelente y si te vas antes que empiece el desayuno te dejan un sándwich y un jugo para desayunar. Nada.
• Natiele (10/5): Maravilhosa! - Desde a recepção feita pelo Reynaldo até o dia a dia, tudo maravilhoso! Quando tínhamos passeios cedo e não conseguíamos tomar café ele deixava um lanche separado para nós, cuidado e carinho máximo! Super recomendo! Local super confortável e aconchegante.

Friendly staff and good breakfast. 10mins walk to town was fine and felt secure. Handy location with easy access to main road towards many attractions. Was surprised that the room window was into a central hallway/covered-courtyard, but the photos had not shown otherwise. Electrical issue during our stay meant AC was off but a rotating fan proved adequate at night even with daytime highs in 90s.

• Cyril (10/5): Séjour très agréable avec un accueil chaleureux et tout le confort nécessaire. - Les propriétaires étaient absolument adorables et d’une grande gentillesse. Nous avons tout aimé durant notre séjour, qui a été vraiment très agréable. La climatisation et le ventilateur fonctionnaient parfaitement, ce qui a rendu notre confort optimal. Le petit-déjeuner était également très bon et bien apprécié. Une très belle expérience que nous recommandons sans hésiter ! Le seul petit inconvénient est que l’hôtel se situe à environ 15 minutes de la rue Caracoles. Cependant, on s’y habitue très rapidement et cela ne nous a finalement pas dérangés durant le séjour.

• Francesca (10/5): Excelente experiencia - Me gustó mucho la cercanía de la dueña del alojamiento y de Cote. Ambas fueron muy amables y preocupadas por nosotras, siempre atentas a que estuviéramos bien y a que no nos faltara nada. Incluso se dieron el tiempo de prepararme un desayuno distinto y de dejarnos colaciones para nuestros tours cuando salíamos más temprano. Desde el primer momento nos hicieron sentir muy cómodas; su disposición, preocupación y buena onda se notaron en todo momento. Sin duda, fue una experiencia muy grata gracias a su atención. 😊 Nada
• Rodolfo (3/5): Adequate and clean but watch out what you pay for because they overcharged me. - Staff was friendly, place was clean. I was overcharged 70 USD, after days of telling them to check while being there, and after leaving and placing a complaint with Booking they finally accepted that they overcharged me, ended up refunding only 50 USD via WesternUnion because they had an issue with their bank. They also randomly cancelled my reservation on the app because I arrived roughly an hour after the approved check in time which costed me over a thousand miles I didn’t end up receiving for my stay.

• Silva (8/5): Cómoda, agradable, pero decidimos cambiarnos a uno más céntrico. - Muy buena atención y destaco la amabilidad de los dueños. Limpio, cómodo y con buen internet. Está a 15 minutos del centro caminando y cuando recién llegas por la altura de San Pedro es difícil caminar con equipaje. No pudimos probar el desayuno ya que todos los tour de la mañana comienzan antes del horario del desayuno y los snack que entregan son muy básicos (pan de molde con una rebanada de queso y mortadela + un jugo en caja).

• Luciana Santore (10/5): Excelente! - O Hostal tem uma decoração bonita e aconchegante. Os quartos são limpos todos os dias. Fica a 10 minutos a pé da rua Caracoles. Possui vários mercadinhos e restaurantes nas proximidades. Os donos são muito simpáticos e solicitos. Tem um doguinho chamado Jow que é cego e muito carinhoso. A água do chuveiro é bem forte e super quentinha. Possui uma banheira também. No café da manhã vc pode agendar o seu horário e quando tem passeios muito cedo, eles fazem uma bag para vc levar com sanduíche, suco e uma barra de cereal. Recomendo e voltaria a me hospedar.

For early tours we even received a lunch package, and a late check-in was no problem at all. Everything was easy and welcoming – we’d be happy to come back anytime!
• Francisco (10/5): Excelente Alojamiento, muy buena experiencia!! - La cercania de las personas, se preocupan mucho por brindar un muy buen servicio, te preguntan como estas, te asesoran, dan recomendaciones, si no alcanzas el desayuno por algun tour te dejaban un snack, todo perfecto. Para fiestas patrias hicieron una comida que compartieron con todos los huéspedes que nos pillo de sorpresa y lo agradecimos enormemente. La verdad todo estaba perfecto, quizas pondria un mini basurero en las piezas para botar papeles u otras cosas como recomendación.

O café da manhã é bem servido e quando voce precisa sair antes do horario eles preparam um snack para levar A localização é um pouco mais afastada do centro, mas o que não atrapalha em nada a estadia. 10 a 15 minutos de caminhada e já está na rua Caracoles.

• Isabel (10/5): Confort, buen desayuno, bien situado: ¡ideal para unos días en Atacama! - Es un hostal situado cerca de la estación de autobuses y a unos 10 minutos de la calle Caracoles, la más céntrica de San Pedro de Atacama. Es una zona iluminada y segura, a la vuelta de la esquina del hostal hay una tiendecita donde puedes comprar comida y agua. Al final de la calle del hostal hay una carretera y, al otro lado, una gasolinera moderna que incluso tiene un cajero automático en el que se puede sacar dinero con seguridad (la dueña del hostal nos lo aconsejó, porque en el del Banco del Estado, en el centro del pueblo, había sabido de casos de tarjetas clonadas). El hostal tiene todo lo que se necesita para tener una estancia confortable y segura: la habitación tiene televisión con internet (puedes conectar tus plataformas de streaming), aire acondicionado con bomba de calor (es lo que hemos usado nosotros, porque hemos estado en invierno), la ducha tiene buena presión y el agua sale bien caliente, tienes champú y gel, incluso un secador, y todo está muy limpio. El desayuno, incluido en el precio, es buenísimo: zumo, té y café (soluble, eso sí), un plato con un huevo revuelto, un poco de ensalada caprese, una loncha de jamón, una de queso y fruta variada, también rebanadas de pan con mantequilla y mermelada. Además, el día anterior te preguntan a qué hora lo quieres, para que esté recién preparado y caliente. El día que fuimos a los geisers, como nos levantamos a las 4 de la mañana, nos lo dejaron todo preparado en una bolsita con el número de nuestra habitación y una sonrisa pintada. Otra cosa estupenda es que tienen una cocina común, con todo el equipamiento necesario y una nevera grande, donde puedes dejar tu comida. Así puedes cocinar si no quieres/puedes gastarte tanto dinero en restaurantes o necesitas hacer una comida más sana. La relación calidad/precio es estupenda y los dueños son muy amables y flexibles cuando tienes alguna petición especial. Lo recomendamos al máximo. No podemos reseñar nada negativo, fue una estancia estupenda.

I miss Joe. - Excellent location, ample street parking, only ten minutes walk from main tourist center of San Pedro, and plenty of minimart and restaurant options even closer. Our hosts were incredible, friendly, accommodating, and very patient despite the language barrier. Bonus points to Joe, the sweetest blind dog. Breakfast was delicious and they even offered to pack a snack if we left too early in the morning. We visited in July (winter) and the blankets were surprisingly very warm, and the space heater was strong. Shower was warm with good water pressure. Shared kitchen was stocked with essentials. Everything was great!

• Maria Talita (10/5): Ótimo estadia! - Ótimo café da manhã, quarto confortável, limpeza perfeita, água quente pro banho e tem um aquecedor portátil no quarto (fomos no inverno) mas não precisamos usar, as cobertas são muito quentinhas! Gladys e Reynaldo foram maravilhosos, nos dias de tour mais cedo que o café da manhã prepararam sacola com lanches pra gente. Fica um pouco afastado da Caracoles, mas não muito, 10min até chegar o início da rua, andamos tranquilamente à noite, muito seguro. Foi uma ótima estadia! Já sabíamos da distância em relação à Caracoles (rua principal) e pra nós não atrapalhou em nada, só precisa estar ciente quando reservar.
• Elina (9/5): Cozy place with friendly hosts. - Hostal Tulvak Atacama was all we needed for our stay in San Pedro de Atacama - it was a double bed room with private bathroom. There was an air conditioning which might be rare near the desert. The beds were comfortable and the room was cleaned every day. We loved that there's breakfast, the hosts were asking every day at what time we prefer to have it on the next day. They were also kind to prepare take away packages for the day when we were leaving early in the morning. It's possible to park on the street if you're coming by car. Also, there are some small shops nearby from where you can buy some food if you'd like to cook something for yourself. The kitchen is well-equipped with various utensils, coffee, tea, spices, etc. The Hostal is not in the city center and is not so close to bars and restaurants. For us, it wasn't a problem since we preferred a quieter place. The host doesn't speak much English. The rooms are not quite spacious which might be a problem for people with larger suitcases.

• Andreea (10/5): Totally recomand - The host is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spotless, with daily cleaning. Breakfast was fresh and healthy — I really enjoyed it. The property is about 10 minutes from the city center, but the neighborhood feels safe even at night. We rented a car — there’s no dedicated parking, but street parking was easy and worked perfectly for us. Bonus: the owner has a sweet, blind dog that adds a unique charm to the place. You also have access to the kitchen, which is a big plus. Even though the room is small, I absolutely recommend staying here. The host is a truly wonderful person! A hairdryier would be great

The hosts don't speak English, but via Google Translate, we were able to communicate. The place is not walking distance to the center of town. No decent places to eat within walking distance. We had a car, so that wasn't an issue for us. There is just an air cooler (not an air conditioner) and the first night, it didn't work because the solar power was used up. It got really warm at night.
• Piotr (9/5): Superb - The owners and its dog are super sweet. The lotion of the hotel is great. They prepared breakfast box for us each time when we went for early morning excursions. The rooms are not big and quite basic but very clean, beds are comfy, there is ac in the rooms and hot shower. WiFi works great. Breakfast is basic but enough. There is no real coffee only nesca for breakfast but it is not a big deal.

The location is great (a safe 10-minute walk from the hustle-and-bustle) and the rooms well-equipped. Lastly, the breakfast was good and fresh. Would 100% stay again!
• Miglena_ (10/5): Exceptional - Good location, 15-20 mins walk from the main street in San Pedro, but the area is so quite. Super clean and lovely place to stay. We had amazing host who made us earlier check-in and later check-out, always smiling and ready to help us - despite we don't speak Spanish and he doesn't speak English :) We had tours early in the mornings and he prepared breakfast boxes for us which was super kind.

• Shubhankar (8/5): Very good - We stayed here for 5 nights. The host is amazing and super friendly. Rooms were small but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen was super well equipped. When we were here we barely saw anyone else use it so it’s possible to cook here too. Breakfast is basic and decent - eggs, toast, ham, cheese and toast. Location is a bit outside the main town (15 mins walk to centre) but it saved us some time when we wanted to drive down south as it’s very close to the highway!

Room window opened onto internal corridor. Room was very hot when we first arrived but cooled quickly once sun went down; good night’s sleep.

The owner showed great hospitality and tried their best to meet your needs, excellent choice to stay when you come to Atacama, 10/10! Slightly (5-10 minutes walk) away from the popular street. • Julia (10/5): Great place in San Pedro - We loved the decor and our room was comfortable with good linen. All areas were spotlessly clean and the room was tidied each day. Location was only 15 minute walk into the centre of town. A light breakfast was served and you could have a snack bag if leaving early. As the card machine wasn't working we had to get cash but this couldn't be helped I guess.

Cozy rooms with everything you need with very comfortable beds, great bathroom with hot water and good water pressure that you might not expect in the desert. WiFi signal was strong. Very well stuffed communal kitchen, clean. But the best about the hostel is the hosts, Gladys and Reynaldo deserve the highest accolades. They are helpful, friendly, professional. Wonderful people to boot. You should see how Reynaldo treats his blind dog, Joe. It speaks volume. And Glady is an amazing person, helped us to deal with a car rental agency. Everything was great!

• Caio (10/5): Amazing stay in the desert - Hosts: Reinaldo and Gladys are simply amazing. Extremely helpful in any matter. As friendly as any host can be! Breakfast: Exquisite! The hosts carefully prepare a healthy, delicious plate with fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, toasts, cheese and provide several types of teas, including coca leafs to ease altitude effects. If you leave before the breakfast starts, the hosts will prepare a snack bag for you to eat before or during the tour. Cleanliness: Top priority at Tulvak. A+!! In addition to the everyday cleaning work, hosts exchanged towels and linen either daily or every other day, which is absolutely amazing. Sleeping: Bed, linen and pillows were very comfortable and Reinaldo gladly provided us with an additional blanket. Shower: hot and cold water with good pressure. It will satisfy people who like boiling and freezing water, too. Location: very well located. Tulvak is not right on Caracoles, but it is a quick 8-10 min walk away, which is San Pedro, is virtually nothing. It's right next to a few markets and it is also right next to Rota Del Desierto, so you'll either be picked up first (and will be able to choose your seats) or last (and will be able to rest a bit more. On two different tours, we were dropped off at Tulvak, even though the tour was supposed to end at Caracoles, because we were driving right next to it. In addition, we can see Volcan Licancabur from the street. Air conditioning: it works about half the day (afternoon and early in the evening), due to solar energy battery capacity. AC is not a must in the Atacama night, but it is a good-to-have, because the air is very dry (AC would help!). But this does not dent the quality of Tulvak at all.

• Anja (8/5): Nice hostel in quiet area. - Quiet area, about 10min walk to the main street. It was very clean, the kitchen very well equipped and clean. The breakfast was super good. On early starts we got a nice snackpack. Minimarket around the quarter The windows open into the corridor, which is really hot during the day. The fan helps a little.
• Sheila (8/5): Nice hostal in a quiet part of San Pedro - Nice and quiet accommodation not too far from the centre and with a few good restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good and there is a nice shared sitting area for guests. Street parking available outside the hotel.Very nice and helpful owner. The room is quite small and not well ventilated. We used the A/C unit for cooling and fresh air but it was quite noisy.

• Alexius (10/5): Excellent cost-benefit relation - Everything. The owners are very friendly and helpful people; their suggestions and advices regarding the city and the tours helped me a lot. Breakfasts are good, freshly made and prepared individually. When the tours begin before breakfast time (7 am), they leave on the kitchen a pack with snacks for taking away. The room and bathroom have a good size and bed was very comfortable; they are very clean. Air conditioning, although with portable equipment, did the job quite well during the week summer period I stayed in, and should be considered a highlight feature, particularly compared with most of other hostels in the region, if not all. Location is perfect. Quiet place, only 10 min walking from the city main street (Calle Caracoles); during the daylight you have the chance to see along the way the amazing views of the Andes chain landscape. You won't get tired. Through a tour agent indicated by the hostel, I booked all tours with good prices. The agent was very efficient and thanks to her I was able to be in the only Astronomy tour that happened during the week I was there.
