- Christine (10/5): Tranquil getaway in the vineyards near McLaren Vale. - Peppermint Cottage is a true gem. Located amongst the vines down a quiet road but easy driving distance to both McLaren Vale and Willunga. The tranquil garden is home to a myriad of bird species and quite a few bunnies. Our host was friendly and it was very interesting to learn the history of the cottage. Everything we needed for a restful stay was supplied. Nothing

Great location for exploring the area, even though it's necessary to drive.
Owners are friendly, helpful, gracious and unobtrusive.
Great facilities especially in the kitchen plus a few little extras that make a difference. The main bedroom is a little cluttered due to unnecessary furniture but could be easily reconfigured to make access easier.
Advertised breakfast was less than expected.
Spa bath was a regular sized bathtub only.
Taps in bathroom need a service.

A face washer/ flannel would be nice for use in the shower
A dish cloth would help to enable the benches to be cleaned down after food prep.
Breakfast provisions were quite basic, more condiments would help or bring some with you.

The location was stunning and there were Ubers available at all times so we didn't have to worry about drink driving. Overall an excellent experience and we'll be booking for a longer stay next time! Nothing - everything was there! Just beware if you're a tall person because these colonial cottages were built low.
