Guest Reviews
- Michelle (8/5): - Incredible views. Little bit hairy of a drive up the driveway in wet weather. One of the bedroom doors locked on an electronic locking system. Wasn't using the room, but it was a bit odd that it couldn't be accessed.
The front gate is pretty heavy, was not the easiest to lift and open/ close.

- Diane (8/5): If they took away the plastic around the balcony rails you would see the lovely view. Nice getaway but only to hang out - The bedrooms were at each end of the house so good for privacy. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of wood for the fire. The driveway. (Yes I was warned) The plastic around the balcony rails blocks the view while sitting down.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- William (9/5): Lofty and lovely - Location location location. Views of everything. Quiet, lovely landscape. Tricky driveway - but you eventually got used to it . Sorry , but a washing machine would be nice as we stayed 6 nights. I understand why - maybe limited access to a machine would be good.
- Wendy (9/5): Perfect place for family getaway - Amazing view , well appointed house Was always worried we might come across someone coming the other way on the driveway
- Denisefracchia (7/5): Great views but needs some attention - The view and verandah were amazing
Well equipped kitchen
Wood fire was lovely There's a shower over bath tub with a large picture window in the Southern bedroom ensuite with no privacy screen.
You literally stand at the window and shower!!
Not at all a comfortable situation when you know there's a caretaker on site as well...
Lots of dust under both beds & house smelt a bit musty when we first entered
The driveway definitely needs a 4WD with good ground clearance to climb up to the house
- Rebecca (9/5): Absolutely wonderful! - Beautiful location with stunning views and lovely relaxed bush surrounds. Adventurous driveway and quirky garden ornaments and well kept native gardens. Comfortable house and good layout. Feel far away from others yet so close to town. Being up high the sound of traffic (trucks) below on New England Hwy travels up and is ever present during the day. This blocks out some of the bird song and tranquility of the environment. Also, couldn't find anywhere to hang a tea towel.
- Pomeroy (7/5): Good - Eagle's Nest is in a great position overlooking Stanthorpe. Air-conditioning was very necessary during the cold conditions for our stay. The fireplace with readily available timber was great. Kitchen had all the equipment we needed (although a new non-stick frying pan wouldn't go astray). Coffee pods, tea and sugar were a lovely bonus.
- Tamang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nova (9/5): Superb - Loved the fire place, views were amazing wow !!! I think you need to mention which key fits the front gate, had issues.
- Anne (8/5): We all had a lovely stay, beautiful cozy home with good facilities and beautiful views - The location, views and tranquility. Great for two couples
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (6/5): Very pleasant experience, apart from the lighting which could easily lead to falls. - Location was brilliant. Great outlook and accommodation layout was very good. Lighting within the accommodation. Very dark, even with lights on. Black ceiling and poorly places lights.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - The facilities were fantastic if you are prepared to bring your stash for the weekend. The only hazard to this property was the driveway, but if you prepare for it, you will not be Disappointed. You can feel a nature's experience without leaving the city. The lock at the highway gate was tricky, just be prepared if it is raining.. you may get wet .
- Vanansem (9/5): Great place to meet up with friends from afar. - N/A The driveway up was terrifying!
We only negotiated it during daylight hours.
- Gregory (10/5): Excellent - Great location & fully self contained Nothing
- Jodi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chilcott (10/5): spectacular views, beautiful sunny breakfasts on the verandah, peaceful late afternoons and evenings. -
- Tania (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great. We loved the View, the tranquillity, the house, it was perfect for what we wanted.
- Deborah (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway to relax and take a step back - Location / tranquility / amenities N/A
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The Location was amazing. The views were exceptional. You would need to have a car, taxi to get into the township. But worth it! Loved it- cant think of a thing to make it better.
- Hendricus (9/5): Was very comfortable - The veiw The driveway
- Marea (10/5): Bliss! - Loved the position, views, open bathroom, fireplace, cosy interior design. The driveway up is a little daunting, but so worth it!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - This place was amazing just breathtaking
- Teresa (10/5): Tranquil - relaxing - surrounded by nature - cosy - comfortable - close to town - I liked the condition and look of the accommodation, it was perfect for it's location. It looked like the pictures on-line, the fire place made it really cosy and comfortable. Everything you needed to cook with was in the kitchen, we really didn't need to bring anything. The grounds were beautifully kept and I loved standing out on the balcony looking at them and Stanthorpe. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Beth (10/5): We absolutely loved our stay and only spent a short period away from the house over our 2days. We loved the fire and the - Size and location and privacy Perhaps some “sign posted” bush walks would be helpful
- Elizabeth (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay thankyou -
- Barbara (10/5): Lovely setting in which to enjoy the granite belt setting and the Stanthorpe area. - Spectacular views. Peaceful. Fireplace with plenty of wood. Comfortable beds. Clean. The adventure of the driveway. There was nothing I didn’t like but the driveway was a cracker! It might deter some people.
- Stacey (8/5): Very good -
- W226 (8/5): A very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. - Location was handy to Stanthorpe and local places of interest across the Granite Belt. Property was well laid out. Excellent views. We liked everything. A throw blanket for the lounge would have been nice.
- Blake (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (8/5): A lovely place to unwind close to town. the indoor fireplace warmed up the house beautifully! - a great location close to town, nestle high up with an amazing view. literally 3 -5 minutes down the hill. it was all great!
- Bernadette (10/5): High up where the Eagle’s nest, is a great place to perch for a few days. - Excellent bird’s eye view of Stanthorpe. Everything you need was thoughtfully supplied. Clear instructions for items. Nice fire place. Nice views from the bath. I had to ring and ask where I needed to go to collect the keys. That information could have been sent prior to our day of travel.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kamila (9/5): We had such a great time, we extended our stay by another night. - Loved the location of the property. The fire place made the house cosy and warm in the evenings and a pleasure to be in. All necessary facilities were provided. Not applicable.
- John (7/5): Good stay with a couple of negatives; - No Breakfast provided ..Not a B+B Location good but access road, although recently resurfaced was not really suitably negotiable at night times. We did not go into Stanthorpe for dinner at all due to the entrance road.
- Sonya (9/5): Superb - Loved the view. Well appointed kitchen. Very cosy Didn't like the locked gate. A better system of gate would be better
- Debbie (9/5): Idyllic, unique, perfectly presented sanctuary with amazing views and ambiance. - Unique property superbly built, exceptional location, amazing views. Attention to detail makes it the perfect set up to relax and unwind. The driveway up to the property is definitely a challenge and not for the feint hearted or a small car. The caretaker (while very discreet) was at the property for our whole stay. Yes there is a disclaimer that he ‘might’ be there and we may have just been unlucky. Even though its a separate cottage — it made it feel a little like and airBNB and that we didn’t have the place all to ourselves. Don’t let this put you off staying the place is amazing - just be aware.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Well equipped, unique location. close to town and wineries. The driveway was an adventure but don’t let it put you off, - The location, views and fire place were amazing! Private and cozy! N/A
- Alexa (7/5): Good - The views were lovely. Cute cottage.
The road noise would be less of a factor during winter when doors are closed. Arriving on a Sunday, having not been updated with new check in details from real estate, made for a stressful start.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo-ann (8/5): peaceful - views, coffee machine, local soaps and hand wash, some kitchen basics like oil and glad wrap the driveway was scary and we could not go out at night as I would not drive that in the dark
- Michael (9/5): beautiful view and very nice accommodation - the view and the verandah drive in is very steep
- Jamie (1/5): Undesirable outcome. - Nothing We did not stay at this accommodation as it didn't suit our needs and the false advertising of this property was very undesirable which we were still charged for. Without reading the fine print we didn't realize we only had booked 1 room for 2 male workers. As the above notes when on the booking site states above the price, it is a booking for a whole house.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Very good -
- Kirsten (5/5): Passable - The place itself is very comfortable and well equipped. The views were gorgeous. They didn't mention the place sits above the noisy New England Highway which I'm sure is not an issue in the winter when the sliders are closed at night. Gardens lovely. Driveway is a bit scary at first. One way and very narrow. Otherwise very clean and comfortable. The agents who handled the bookings are terrible. Firstly they supposedly double booked us (computer glitch) so we changed our itinerary. Then the cleaner was still there way after check-in time. The gas bottles ran out so no hot water for a morning. ( they did get them filled that day) very ordinary service.
- Ewan (8/5): Very good -
- Inna (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Very relaxing few days, thoroughly enjoyable. - Amazing location and stunning views. Very functional house to sit and enjoy dinner and wine with a nice log fire.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful accommodation, loved all the timber, and stunning views over Stanthorpe from every room. Everything you could need in the kitchen, and the fireplace and reverse cycle air conditioning made the place cosy and warm. Great price for the 1 bedroom, but thought the additional charge for the second room was a little high.
- Nigel (10/5): We didn’t want to leave. - Location. Comfort.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helga (9/5): Superb - The views were amazing. The house was clean, comfortable and cosy. The house was well especially equipped including access to a BBQ on the deck. The fireplace was big enough to heat the whole house. The rooms were spacious with more than enough storage space. I would highly recommend. The driveway was rather steep and may be disconcerting to a nervous driver. It is well marked by guides but I am glad I didn't attempt driving it at night.
- Evelyn (9/5): Superb -
