Guest Reviews
- Alan Williams (9/5): Wide vistas, spacious, comfortable and well equipped for a large family group. - Viewhaven has a wonderful location high on a ridge looking towards Port Phillip Bay. It's large, sunny and bright and was great for the 6 of us who stayed plus friends who came for dinner. The owners have equipped the kitchen and dining room with plenty of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils so you really have everything you need to prepare big meals. There's a very big fridge too (important when one of your party is a chef).
The bedrooms are small but the beds comfortable and the bathrooms have been recently renovated.
There are loads of games everywhere (including the very retro console with pacman, space invaders etc) and foozball (shame that blue has an injured man ;-) ). The firepit was a hit too, with seating for 6-8 around it.
As well, Scott at the rental agency was extremely helpful and friendly. The only real dislike about this lovely property is that with a few simple lighting changes they could lift it from an everyday house to a special retreat. The terrible cold light LEDs in the kitchen kill all of the colour of the food, and the cold light spills into the dining room. The old-style ceiling fixtures create very general light (not great for highlighting good food) and don't create any atmosphere, and there are a very limited number of side lights to compensate.
We very often take our own very elegant travel LED lights, especially when we're expecting less luxurious environments, and we wished we'd brought them here which was a bit of a surprise.
- Janet (10/5): Awesome place to stay in with easy access and comfort. - Great location with exceptional views.
Loved the open area in the kitchen, dining family area.
Loved that there is a separate games / bar area downstairs
- Alison (8/5): Relaxing and comfortable. My siblings and I really enjoyed it. - Views, location, cleanliness, easy to organise the booking, helpful support from Peninsula Holiday rental staff. Thankyou Scott! Difficulties with using gas range stove. One loose knob made it impossible to turn the griller and fan off. Needs immediate repair.
- Anwar (10/5): - Great cottage. We will definitely recommend it
- Tracey (10/5): Large, comfortable home with lovely views - Wonderful views and so much space. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was a steep driveway but easy to navigate.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Mitali (9/5): Superb -
- Wesley (10/5): Very comfortable, convenient, quiet and with plenty of space - All of the facilities in the house. The game machines were a neat surprise
- Diana (7/5): Good for large groups in spring/summer - Place was clean and comfy. Games were fun. Location very close to the hot springs and beach. Light and bright kitchen, lounge and main bedroom. Good number of heating appliances. I think a $1000 security deposit is excessive and over a week later I'm still waiting on the refund. Struggled to get the keys out of the security box. Bedrooms on the ground floor were dark and cold. Oven was very smoky, had to open windows and noticed there were no smoke alarms. Power socket in one of the bedrooms was sticking out of the wall and unsafe to use. There were no other outlets in the room so we had to use an extension from another room to run the heater. The fire pit was full of water and hence unusable. The ground outdoor furniture had been blown all over the deck and was wet/full of water. Asked for a later check out on Sunday and even though there was no booking, was told it would be an additional $65. Late standard check in of 4pm is also unfair. The property is $737 per night to have it for 18 hours (4pm to 10am) and charged an additional $25 for firewood (which we couldn't use). Overall I don't think it was value for money...too expensive.
- Kalil (10/5): It was great - location No wifi available
- Mem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Crofts (8/5): Lovely getaway - Lovely clean house, fantastic view, comfy couches. Lots of space. Great location.
Early check in was appreciated, as 4pm check in is so late! No soap in the downstairs bathroom.
That not all beds were made up, so we could have a choice if the bed wasn't comfortable for someone.
A ridiculous amount of conditions that I had to agree to...considering our age 40+ it was excessive.
Block out curtains in the bedrooms would have been nice.
