- Emna (10/5): - Amazing house, very clean, if you re looking to be away of the world, this is the place Nothing
- Reto (9/5): -
- Lucas (10/5): The place is absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful time. We’d recommend it to everyone! -
- Nicola (9/5): Incredible building and great location - Incredible building and great location

- Sommer-Jane (10/5): - Beautiful open home, wish we were able to stay longer. Visited cape trib for a wedding so we unfortunately didn’t get to spend as much time in the house as we would have liked to. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Great location but still felt secluded. Perfect for friends and family
- Angela (6/5): Enjoyable, just feel the description could be more detailed - The location of the house was great, very central, the beds were comfy, there was a great selection of games and books and the verandah and outdoor area was lovely. Gardens beautiful and house was clean when we arrived. The kitchen is not really equipped to say it has a full kitchen. There’s no microwave, the oven was broken so we needed to go outside in the rain to turn it on/off at the gas bottle, there was no gas bottle for the bbq which was situated under the verandah with the bins.
- SophiaJL (9/5): - Incredible location, beautiful house, and a real treat to stay here. Thank you! Everything was great, no cons.
- Lidiya (10/5): Beautiful location and caretaker was super friendly and helpful -
- Hayley (9/5): - Very clean and great location Is an off grid property did experience power outage but was quick to be rectified. For cooking unable to use appliances with elements, did have gas top stove only, takeaway quite expensive in Cape but the views are amazing.
- Katrina (8/5): A peaceful stay in your own private rainforest - A beautiful location. The balcony area and hammock with your private rainforest garden was so peaceful. Unfortunately we had some problems using the oven to heat food and toast up our sourdough bread. I’m sure the owners will fix the knob that had already come off.
Woodfire pizza was available just down the road for dinner at the Sandbar.
- Garry (8/5): Great stay Nathan was a great host to meet us -
- Julie (10/5): A great little place to stay and slow down. You are immersed in nature and it’s so peaceful. Would definitely stay agai - A great place where your surrounded by nature. The outdoor area is a lovely space to just sit and slow down . It’s so peaceful even when it rained. We loved. It. Not a third world problem but Just be aware you are off grid so you can’t use hair dryer or straightener ( nothing a good hat can’t fix ) & no toaster.
- Lana (7/5): House is very unique, was a great experience. Would have been good to know to bring drinking water - Great house, beautiful location. Host and maintance man both very helpful We didn't know it wasn't recommended to drink the tap water until after we had arrived.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing special place once in a lifetime experience ….
- Kendal (10/5): Most beautiful unique house in a stunning location - Amazing unique house, in the most breathtaking location. Hosts were super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. House was very clean and had everything you needed to experience a little home away from home. Thank you so much, we’ll be back! Loved everything but the pillows were a little uncomfy / hard. Our little ones struggled with them with their little necks but a very minor thing
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - Spectacular location, settled amongst the rainforest and so peaceful. Hammock on the deck was a highlight whilst watching the beautiful butterflies Slight mix up with dates of arrival. Hosts quickly sorted out error
- Bryan (4/5): Disappointing - Location was fine. Externally the property and surrounding area looks impressive Condition of property was in need of full maintenance overhaul and a thorough clean with replacement of all soft furnish covers on seating, bedding and towels. Poor weather conditions affecting power availibility limiting access to washer, unavailability of any wifi and general dampness feeling in the bed between sheets meant we curtailed our stay.
- Ashley (9/5): Superb -
- Tayla (10/5): Everything you need and more - Absolutely amazing place to stay tucked into the stunning Daintree rainforest. Can't recommend this place highly enough, simple minimalistic feel while still providing everything you need. Large open space bringing the rainforest inside. So quiet and peaceful. Made to just move around a lounge about. I didn't have a car but everything is within walking distance. Anita was also so quick to reply with any queries and super helpful with local knowledge. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Thank you again Anita for having me stay
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Meghan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (7/5): Good - The location was great if you wanted to see and do the activities in Cape Trib. The house could use some updates and the Internet did not work while we were there.
- Stevie-rose (9/5): Superb -
- Familie (4/5): Beautiful location, accommodation need major overhaul - Location of the house and the view and the dvd set. Cleaniness of the house.
Old furniture.
Cupboard was hanging on one hinge.
The sink is leaking.
Dark living room.
When the weather is bad, and you can't sit outside on the veranda, you have no possibility to sit inside for playing a game or dinning.
- Bernadette (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Fantastic location, friendly host
- Amy (8/5): Very good - The house was fantastic, opening out into the daintree forest. No bugs so meals on the decking.
Our host was helpful and available. No microwave or toaster available...assuming this is due to being off grid.
- Bernadette (9/5): An amazing house in the most amazing location. Chrissie and Nathan could not have been better to dea - The location, the property, the hosts we were so happy Leaving
- Trevor (7/5): Beautiful wooden cottage in the heart of the Daintree - Beautiful balcony to enjoy the rainforest.
Location was great, close to the local cafe/shop and Cape Tribulation Beach.
It was very quiet and a nice place to relax. Lots of games and books and a nice hammock Took a bit of adjustment to just use gas. Due to solar reliance, no toaster, electric kettle or microwave but gas stove all good.
Place needs some TLC
- Keith (3/5): Poor - Not much. From the start the description on Booking.com did not indicate that the property was off the grid. That is no electricity. As above, not advertised correctly - so no toaster, no air conditioning, no washing machine. The system needs to be updated so that these items may be used.
Then the overall cleanliness was not good. Cockroaches.
No working smoke alarms, which is illegal under state law.
The lounge needs to be replaced, you fall into it and can't get out.
For $315.00 a night it should be 5 star, not 1 star.
The bed was the only comfortable thing about it.
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - Lovely position in the rainforest.
Great veranda. Was very dark inside the building.
- Volker (10/5): Highlight in the tropical rainforest - Unique house in the middle of the tropical rainforest w/ rainforest animals coming around, lot of room inside and outside to chill and enjoy the sound. City people have to get used to open windows and insects possibly coming in - we did not find any spiders or snakes inside or outside.
- Jason (7/5): Beautiful rustic rainforest retreat. - The hammock and outdoor deck A bit of repair and maintenance was required. Doors didn’t close pipes in kitchen leak, mouldy smell.
- Fabio (7/5): Good - The location in the middle of the forest is incredibly quiet and beautiful. The house is unique and beautiful with lots of light during the day. The patio is huge and really gives you the ability to soak in the beauty of the place. It's all incredibly quiet and beautiful. No mosquitos which is a plus. The house needs some thorough cleaning. It was clean overall but with lots of dust particularly in harder to reach areas or areas that are not cleaned weekly (e.g behind the TV, on the handrail). I'm allergic to dust and I could feel it throughout the stay there. Fortunately we kept the house always open and it was manageable. The house is sparsely furnished with furniture that is very tired. Although we liked having very dim lights that don't disturb the natural environment, it would have been nice to have stronger lights in areas where you need it (e.g kitchen).
- Hannah (8/5): Very good - Amazing location and peaceful
- Stacey (7/5): Good -
- Krys (9/5): great house to relax, spend time with family and take trips throughout the Daintree and Great Barrier Reef - floor to ceiling window in bedroom. surrounded by rainforest. massive balcony. secluded
- Deirdre (10/5): Exceptional - This property was stunning and unique. We loved relaxing on the deck in the hammock and listening to the birds. Fresh milk and coffee were supplied which was such a nice bonus. Wonderful base to explore cape tribulation from.
- Victoria (10/5): Beautiful Rainforest Getaway - Beautiful home in the rainforest. Comfortable and cute home with lush gardens on the property. Host were very helpful :)
Bonus Telstra 5G coverage in the area
- Stephen (8/5): We had a great time in the Daintree and the failings in the property didn't diminish our short break - The location was as good as it gets in the Daintree, it was quiet and the house was reasonably appointed. There is plenty of space and a nice retro feel. There is also a very large balcony, which we used constantly. The beds are comfortable, though the mezzanine did feel like a dormitory, you need fans on the go up there all the time. On our first night the power went down at 1.30 am and we were without fans till the sun rose and the system powered itself up. The same happened the following night but luckily this happened at the same time that the generator was started so the loss of power was short. We followed the power rules as requested, but that didn't the obviate power cut. We did add a low-power CPAP machine but this uses less power than a light bulb and couldn't have contributed to the power cuts. The reaction to assist us was slow and no apology was forthcoming, preferring to lay the blame on the CPAP machine rather than accepting any responsibility. It turned out in the end that the battery pack was not holding the charge.
- Ashwini (8/5): Very good -
- Daniela (8/5): Would highly recommend home as a great base for wanting to explore Cape Tribulation. - Great location as a base for our activities in Cape Tribulation
Loved the unique style of home
Beautiful scenery around property
Easy walk to the beach and essential facilities
Friendly hosts with tips for places to explore
Great selection of dvds/ movies and books Bit of a damp smell in house
Upstairs ceiling fan would be useful
- Graeme (9/5): Superb -
- Chiquitita (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful Home
- Melissa (8/5): Really loved this gorgeous place, would stay again for sure. would recommend to friends. - Location is superb, very clean. Bed was comfy. Mostly peaceful.
the hammock was fabulous, spent so much time here just reading and snoozing and relaxing. Towels smelt a bit funky, like they’d been wet too long.
the door latches were really difficult to get to open and close (the ones on the floor) for arthritic fingers, could do with some WD40.
