- Oliver (10/5): Beautiful property - Great location, immaculate beautiful property and comfy beds!
House is kitted out with everything you need including Webber
- Sarita (8/5): - We had a wonderful stay and truly felt like it was a home away from home. The place was very comfortable, welcoming, and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time in Gnarabup. Rachel was incredibly friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with, which made the whole experience even better. We loved it so much that we’ve already rebooked to stay again. Highly recommend!
- Donna (9/5): Relaxing and the best vibes just awesome! - Loved the little by the sea its in a great location and its so cozy Nil loved it!
- Marissa (9/5): Tranquil getaway by the sea - Lovely furnishings, clean, great location and beautiful tranquil courtyard
- Sian (6/5): Cosy, but for us from UK would have liked more light - Unique, comfortable beds and sofa. Quick walk to beach and cafe Dark with little sunlight, long way to main town for supplies. Poor cooking facilities. Needs better cleaning - lots of cob webs
- Sarah (8/5): - Excellent accommodation, very clean and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend if you are staying in area.
- William (9/5): -
- Debra (6/5): - Location
- Jason (9/5): Great accomodation tucked away in Gnarabup. Had everything we needed with a great host. - Host was accomodating to our needs. Nice quiet location. Had everything we needed. The oven/cooktop is a bit dated but still served its purpose.
- Hyde (6/5): Comfy and basic in a gorgeous beach setting. - Cosy earthy decor. We loved being so close to Gnarabup beach. Heating was very basic. We had to move heaters between rooms to obtain adequate warmth in winter. Facilities were good but minimal. Towels and sheets were very old and used. We had an enjoyable stay.
- Alexander (8/5): Very enjoyable; great value; all necessities provided - even coffee! - Location is excellent - just a few minutes walk from the ocean; a breakfast cafe and a resort with draught beer Bed was a little small
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - The place was clean and homely. There was everything we needed, lovely clean bedding and a great shower. Only about a 10 min walk to the beach. Lovely area outside to sit.
- Sylvia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (8/5): as expected - as expected bbq was not wrking
- Sabrina (7/5): Very comfortable stay, all help provided promptly, comfortable bed - Just the basic things provided- tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper oil, was appreciated. The kitchen is great & a few things to help with meals would be great for travelers.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsay (9/5): A week by the beach to explore the Margaret River area - Spacious and well kitted out. Plenty of areas inside and out to relax and unwind. Easy parking and kitchen had several consumables supplied. Easy walk to hotel and other local facilities and not far from the local beach and walking trails. Great place to unwind. On the hotter days it was a bit stuffy inside with no air con or ceiling fans and the windows down the side didn't open.
- Leach (8/5): Very good - We had a great stay at By the Sea- beautiful location, excellent amenities and great communication with the host. Highly recommend, thank you for having us!
- Em (8/5): Loved staying there, would definitely return! - Perfect location and a gorgeous property inside and out! Upstairs were a little heavy footed in the early hours.
- Marcelly (8/5): Very good -
- Murphy (7/5): Very relaxing, quiet, peaceful, comfortable, beautiful private garden and a stroll to the beach and pub. - Location There are some very unfair reviews in here about this property. Yes, it can be a bit noisy but it’s minimal. There is a young family living above the apt. Nothing out of the ordinary. Great place.
- Masih (7/5): Good - Location
- Karen (7/5): We had a comfortable short stay in a great location, with easy access to Margaret River . - The location was excellent.,The accomodation was very comfortable and clean. an easy walk to the beach and cafe. The pillows need to be replaced.
- Haley (9/5): Superb -

- Lori (9/5): Highly recommend appartment ….great location .. peaceful and quiet. And excellent customer care. Very happy - The downstairs two bedroom apartment was great. Comfortable beds and furnishings.
Quite street and a short walk to a fabulous cafe on the surf beach.
Lots of information in a guest book which was very helpful.
Short drive to the town. Wonderful walking paths close to home.
Well layer out open plan living area and dining area.
Wonderful customer service and great, fast, communications.
Highly recommend.
Thank you We were really happy. Only a very small detail … a large salad bowl would be helpful, but all other kitchen items were present.
- Shannon (5/5): Misleadingly advertising, disappointing stay. - Onsite parking
Kitchen amenities I was quite disappointed with my stay at this accommodation. It appears to be a converted basement, which means you can hear constant thumping from the upstairs level. While it looked clean, there was a persistent musty smell, and noticeable mould in the bathroom. We were prepared for the cold weather but the bare cement floors made it freezing, and the only heat source provided was a small bar heater, which was insufficient. Felt exposed due to the lack of window coverings in the bathroom and laundry.
The advertising is misleading; it should clearly state that this is located beneath a residential house, not allude its apartment. Overall, not the experience I expected and definitely overpriced for what it is.
- Jodi (10/5): Great -
- David (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (9/5): Thanks for a great stay! If we ever return to the area we will definitely see if this is available - The location was superb, the accomodation was perfect for our group of 4- very warm and cosy despite the cold temperatures outside. Shower pressure was 100%!
- Helen (10/5): Great place to have a getaway. Spacious, clean and location was great. - The rustic look and space of rooms. Communication with owner was fantastic. Perfect location for where we needed to be. N/A
- Kate (7/5): Nice short stay in Gnarabup, clean, well appointed and close to surfers point - Nice short stay in Gnarabup, clean, well appointed and close to surfers point and great pub the common bistro walking distance. Host was very friendly and responsive to any queries. We didnt manage to use any of the outdoor area due to weather. Not aware it was a flat with people in upstairs property
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - The property is within a 10 minute walk of the local surfing beach where there is a cafe that's open from 7am. There's a bar and bistro at a nearby resort that served decent food for evenings too. The property itself is good quality, two decent sized bedrooms, a full kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Margaret River is a 15 minute drive away and there's walks along the beach in both directions. Everything was great.
- Ilza (8/5): We had a very enjoyable stay all in all, good location place is very clean & especially the kitchen was very well ki - Location, no other people around, spacious, lovely kitted out kitchen, good bathroom Chilly in cold weather with no heating except for two small electric type heaters that cannot do the job in open plan area and cement floors (hardly any sun comes in to accommodation) but lighting is good. No electric blankets or airconditioning so we were chilly although not even wi ter yet. Decor is very nice and kitchen is great. Very annoying yapper doggie upstairs when residents are not there, obviously had separation anxiety and this happened often during our visit.
- Katherine (7/5): Good - Overall we had a lovely stay. Rachel was attentive and helpful as a host. The location is great and the apartment was well equipped for our stay. My one quibble was that I wish it had been clearer in the listing that this is not a freestanding house, rather an apartment in the ground floor of a house, with another dwelling above. I only found this information after digging through the reviews and on a secondary tab to the main property listing. .We could hear everything, footsteps, talking, children running and shouting, and dogs barking all around us. I wouldn't recommend this as a place for peace and quiet, but if you're using it as a base to explore the area, like we did, then it would be fine.
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rien (10/5): Very well equiped appartment and nicely decorated - Close to the sea, plenty room to live, nice garden
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great to the surfing, beach ⛱ and the hotel.
- Mitch (7/5): Good -
- Lydia (10/5): Gorgeous place to be! Would go again - Open plan and spacious. Good temperature. Nice big shower Only wish would be for another toilet
- Alan (8/5): Great stay, location. - It was perfect location, 5 minute walk to the most beautiful beach. We were in the area for a friends wedding which was 5 minute walk away. Ideal location for us. Great information pack about the area too.
- Skye (9/5): Beautiful stay! - Great spot in beautiful leafy location a quick walk to the beach It had great amenities, although my whites went a little grey in the washing machine. Not sure why but something to be mindful of
- Suzanne (6/5): Ok, bit expensive - Location Bed wasn’t very comfortable and squeezed with every move
Not enough cutlery
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Concettina (8/5): Very good -
- Helene (10/5): Exceptional - Rachel is a fantastic host. The apartment is spotless and has everything you could wish for during a stay in Gnarabup.
- Mccarthy (6/5): Needs air conditioning. The temperature for our last 2 days were in the mid 30 degrees. This made sleeping at night unco - Proximity to the beach. Nice courtyard area. Spiderwebs on interior windows, no air conditioning,
- Georgina (9/5): Quiet family beach oasis - Beautiful home made with raw WA materials like sandstone, slate, jarrah, etc. Comfy, quiet and stylish, with a beach feel, a Mediterranean courtyard, and a lovely large leather couch to lounge on. Perfect for a small family or two couples wanting to eat in occasionally. It’s thought of everything, including night lights, eco-friendly laundry and dish detergents, an excellent home-made tourist guide/manual, and well equipped kitchen including olive oil, salt and pepper. Short stroll to the beach and cafe, and a small drive to Margs central. You can hear the waves and sea breeze at night. The master bed was a tad creaky.
- Derek (9/5): Superb -
- Mike (10/5): Very comfortable and ideal location with delightful host. - Rachel was a delightful host and very helpful. The property was comfortable, well equipped with a sunny pleasant outside area. Great location with easy walking for sunset viewing, dinner at the Common or to the beach, and for exploring the Margaret River area by car.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Fletcher (10/5): Perfect, thank you!! - Everything, my bestie and I went on a well earned break from Qld… comfortable, super clean, well equipped kitchen… Host was wonderful… Thank you 🌈🌞🫶
- Christina (9/5): Excellent, we will be back. -
- Linda (10/5): Fabulous stay - Great property, has everything you need in house.
Very cool property as very hot.
Great places to eat nearby. Nothing
- Kate (8/5): Very good - Lovely spot
- Rebecca (10/5): Comfortable and relaxing stay in a beautiful location. - Great location, walking distance from the White Elephant Cafe, self-contained - suitable for guests wanting to cook at home. Beautiful furnishings. Sounds from upstairs were a bit noisy in the evenings - it didn't bother us too much but something for other guests to be aware of.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- Leone (8/5): Very good - Great location. No air conditioning, it was cold.
- Chris (8/5): Beautiful little place, exactly what I was looking for - Clean, quiet Nothing
- Andrew (3/5): DISSAPOINTING a complete let down from the photos provided we would not stay there again. - Bed was comfortable , good location. Firstly no meeting of the host to check if everything was ok. Bathroom and furniture very dated, kitchen dirty ,oven not clean, apartment dusty and the washing machine did not work correctly did not spin fully leaving us with wet washing to take home. Outside BBQ was not clean I would not cook my food on it.
I was under the impression that it was a two bed house not an apartment under the family house to which we endured the noise of the family all night walking a round then them going to work early and the kids going to school not really ideal for a break away from the world of work my being shift work.
- Sian (8/5): Happy with stay over all would stay again. - Perfect location, great space. Windows in kitchen didn’t open. not huge issue but would be nice.
No gas in bbq. Pillows smell a little stale.
- Anke (8/5): Beautiful location, had a great time. Would def recommend it. - Great location, very comfortable, well equipped, good value for money, easy access. The microwave had spilled food in it and one of the pots was dirty, open shelf in kitchen very dusty. The gas bottle for the Weber BBQ was empty.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): The unit felt homely and very comfortable. - Easy to find and in a very quiet area.
- Healthybeautyaddict (8/5): Unit in good location, lovely space - Location was great having local tavern and cafes in walking distance and beach. Unit was lovely and beds comfortable. Bit noisy at times with family living above, Neighbours dogs can be quite noisy too very early in the mornings but overall was still a nice stay
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Tin (10/5): Exceptional - we had no chance to try the breakfast.
the place was perfect.
- Gabriel (8/5): Great location to the beach and wineries. - Great location to the beach and wineries.
- Phil (9/5): Superb - Beautiful home in quiet shady location with short walk to beach and Cafes.
- Shirley (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay, host was very helpful, will book again, thank you! - Comfortable, quiet, cool, full kitchen for self catering, good location close to beach. Nothing
- Olivier (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (7/5): very nice located - very close to the beach. you will hear people living upstairs.
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Wendel (1/5): Not worth the money at all! - We liked the location - close to the beach. But not at all peaceful or private with a family living upstairs
. We booked a "2 bedroom house" which all the photos show that it is, but nowhere in the description at all does it say that you will be staying in a renovated carport of a family home with a loud dog and young kids living there! YOU CAN HEAR EVERY FOOTSTEP FROM UPSTAIRS! We were under the impression that it was a quiet beach house which was going to be perfect for our honeymoon which turned it turned out not to be. We did not appreciate spending as much money as we did on this place to feel uncomfortable. If you want a nice relaxing holiday privately do not spend your hard earned money here.
- Natasha (7/5): Good -
- Zoe (6/5): Pleasant - location is fantastic, short walk to the beach and to the Common for food. off street parking. big rooms. full kitchen.
- Karolyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thiago (8/5): Very good - Nice house, for both family or romantic couple. There are plenty of space, 2 rooms, nice kitchen and yard. 1. One of the rooms was smelling of mold
2. The beds made noises when moving during the night
3. There was a family in the upper floor, and we could hear every step and conversation
4. It's far away from any cafe or market. You need car for everything
- Karen (4/5): Comfortable and clean - not worth the price - The 'apartment' was clean, comfortable, easy to access. Bed was comfortable. With enough blankets. Shower was big with enough hot water. Was not aware the 'apartment' was a built in carport under the house. As we checked in very late the first night we just went straight to bed without really looking around. Was woken up the first morning by footsteps and what sounded like a small dog running around on the floor above to come to the realisation that we were staying underneath the house. This continued for several hours on and off with my husband getting up at 7.00 as he couldn't go back to sleep. Checked on the add that morning and could not find any information to indicate that this would be the case. No photos of the building only inside photos provided. At $300 night was very disappointed as we were woken at the same time the next morning by the same noises. Coffee and tea amenities were provided - would have been nice to have a small box of long life milk so we could make a hot drink as we woken so early. Fully understand the concept of market prices however would have been happier - for a couple - to stay at a hotel/resort for the same price. Priced lower for what we got - would have expected this and been happy to pay. However at premium price would not expect this level of inconvenience in regards to the sounds from above from such a early time in the morning.
- Pam (9/5): out host was vey helpful. would recommend staying here. if you are interested in the beach snd surf excellent. good acce - The location. was excellent. Good space. well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. At our age we found the lounge chair a bit low.
- Oshada (8/5): Very good -
