• Gemma (2/5): The property did not meet health and safety standards and we had to do a lot of cleaning ourselves before we could settl - The location was nice. A 10 minute taxi was $55. This is a message I sent to the property during my stay which I did not receive a response. Good morning. I just wanted to reach out regarding the cleanliness of your property. On the chance that you use an external cleaning company and aren’t aware of the poor condition the house was left in. I will attach photos for you to see also. I haven’t seen that the property is pet friendly however I’m pretty sure your couch has fleas. I have a trail of bite marks down my leg and could feel myself getting bitten while sitting on the couch. My mother also has the same bits that she said she felt occur on the couch. There were coke cans left in the wardrobe. There is no battery in the smoke alarm. The washing line is full of laundry so we have no where to hang our washing to dry. The crockery such as plates, bowels and mugs were filthy and we had to wash them before we could use them. There is grease dripping from the cooker hood onto the stove top. The oven is so dirty my parents refuse to cook it in. There are strips missing from the blinds, my father found some in the bedside table that he was able to hang and fix but not before my husband could clearly see me walking from the shower room while he was outside taking the rubbish out. Without realising I’m sure I’ve given your neighbours a good show this week. General dirt around the house, window sills, extracting fans, floors etc are all in need of a clean. I find it very upsetting that while staying away from home that the place I am staying in is not as clean as my own home when I do not have a cleaning team to help me. The location is perfect but unfortunately the condition of the property has let my trip down. Many thanks, Gemma.

• Hong (8/5): The house it self is not too bad. - Very spacious and close to shops In the main bedroom, the shower head didn’t not work properly (it keeps falling down from the stand and you cannot change the water pressure).

Garage door remote sometimes not working when wanting it too.

The property had the following issues :- Code for house was not sent until at least 45 minutes. Had to ring house contact, who had forgotten. We did text house contact at 1pm of arrival into Gladstone. The lock box was NOT easy to get into on arrival. The house owner was dismissive and not a lot of help in Brisbane. No toilet seat lid in main bedroom. The beds were so low to the ground. The yard was very dry and not well kept. Air conditioning unit was extremely filthy with dust. Unhygienic condition of a/con unit. No blinds on the two bathrooms. Not value for money. Certainly not an award winning house, far from it. One of our worst selection of houses on Booking.com

• Eugene (8/5): Spacious Home - Walk to shops - The house was spacious and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the host provided tea, coffee, sugar and also shower gel for the bathroom. The lawns and Gardens were un kept. The oven was dirty. There were no towel rails in the main bathroom and there was no outdoor furniture to sit outside.
