- carolyn (8/5): - The amount of available produce. Well equipped kitchen. Unstable floor in front bedroom.
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Really enjoyable - Was just perfect Comfy and clean
- Adrian (9/5): -
- Jennifer (9/5): - Olives cottage was comfortable, well located and there were provisions on arrival. There was nothing we didn't like. Having one toilet can be tricky but we had no issues
- Emma (9/5): We will certainly choose Olive's Cottage again next time we are in the area - This property was so cosy and welcoming and we loved our stay here. With its high ceilings, fireplaces, and all the character features throughout it really felt like home. It's the little things like the fresh flowers, complimentary wine and thoughtful decor that really put this property over the top. The kitchen was well-appointed, everything was very clean, and the bedding was divine - so comfortable and warm with great quality sheets and pillows. We enjoyed hanging out in the cosy living room and would have loved being in the garden had the weather been a little warmer. Location was only a five minute drive to the main street so easy access to shops and cafes. The only fault we could find is such small things, but the water pressure could have been better, and it would have been nice to be able to keep the car undercover.
- Julie (2/5): Sorry not so great đ - Space Iâm afraid the photos look alot better online . It was old and needed lots of TLC . Also needed a handyman as many things like door knobs / handles etc falling off . A mix of clean and not so clean overall . The sheets felt dirty so we washed them. The house had that continuous old dusty musky smell . We had to buy oils which helped but was t a solution .. we actually left a night early đ
- Sarah (10/5): Had a wonderful stay. The cottage was clean and well maintained. Everything we needed in the house and close to all tour - The cottage is comfortable and close to everything. Traffic noise with the trucks
- Kimberley (9/5): - The location and price One bathroom was not ideal
- jacqui (10/5): absolutely perfect and comfortable - beautiful place, everything was perfect there is nothing i can think of that i was dissatisfied with, i wish id stayed longer
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Merv (9/5): -

- Myrine (9/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Perfect place to stay, very cosy - Nice and cosy, lovely place to stay, was welcomed with milk and bread, fruit and a bottle of wine. Would definitely stay here again
- Gavin (9/5): - The host not only show their hospitility (providing fruit, bread and even a bottle of wine!), but also very thoughtful by turning on the heaters to warm up the house (in the middle of winter) before our arrival. 5 stars! Bathroom and the shower box is a bit small.
- Vickie (9/5): -
- Kimberlea (10/5): 8 ball carnival longweekend and stay here helped ease the stress from the day . - The property was awesome from communication with owners to the facilities .
Upon arrival there was milk in the fridge , bread in the bread bin and a bottle of wine . The rooms were clean and tidy . NA
- Amanda (8/5): Warm and comfortable, good facilities. - Very clean and neat. Bed was comfortable. I was very happy there was a coffee pod machine, a milk frother, some pods, and milk in the fridge! Itâs a bonus you had bread and condiments but I would prefer mini jam sachets or vegemite sachets rather than using a shared jar of jam etc
- Gwen (9/5): Great over night stay, was sad that we could not stay longer - Everything, loved that the heater was on, the house was welcoming. would have liked a car port for the car, it poured and unloading without any cover was not great.
- Marco (9/5): Great location, even better hosts and very clean property. - Great hosts. Very flexible and polite. Provided a great bottle of red on arrival and could tell they cleaned the property well and small touches like grapes and fruit, coffee, milk, bread etc âŚreally very nice of them! A second bathroom would have been great!
- Petrina (10/5): Exceptional - Great location
- Joanne (9/5): I would definitely recommend it to anyone - Location was good close to weâre my son lives plus close to all facilities I also liked the little touches that they do to make you feel at home. I know itâs only nip picking but the towelâs could have been softer that was the only thing
- Katrina (8/5): Good value, well appointed, could be improved with minor changes, overall a good place to stay, would stay again - Very well appointed
Everything you would need was there Wi fi wasnât good
Needed a deep clean
- Thomas (10/5): Great house and location! - Great house (photos don't do it justice), shared with three other people and we all had plenty of space. Really easy to get the key to enter in and the hosts very kindly gave us bread, milk, wine and fruit. Would definitely recommend staying here as the location and house is great!
- Kendra (9/5): Superb -
- Alissa (9/5): Superb -
- Brad (10/5): Second time staying. First place I look for if staying in Mount Gambier - Lovely cottage. Nice a quiet but still in town. Fruit bowl and bread with spreads was nice. Wasnât an issues as there was fans but only AC not in the bedrooms may of been a concern if it was hot but the thick walls kept it nice and cool.
- Simon (8/5): A great Cottage to explore the Mt Gambier region, by foot into the CBD and by car for the region - Complimentary breakfast and items was a pleasant surprise.
Arranging the return of left belongings was very much appreciated! No issues
- Angelica (8/5): Very good - We liked the location and facilities
- Nathalie (9/5): Superb -
- Lisette (10/5): Really enjoyable, would stay there again next time :) - Great, charming property. Loved it, great location easy walk to nearby Engelbrect caves and into town. Property well maintained, thoughtful hosts who provided fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. Highly recommend :)
- Tammy (8/5): Lovely holiday stay - Great property, thank you so much Traffic noise was a bit loud, but didnât impact the stay too much.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Kerryn (7/5): Well- appointed property in a convenient location - The location is central, and it is convenient to access the shops in the CBD and many tourist attractions are within walking distance. The house maintains its original charm and is well-maintained and tidy. It is also well-appointed and equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The hosts very generously provided bread, milk, fruit, and a bottle of wine. All bed linen and towels are provided. The water pressure is good. The not-so-good: This property is on the main highway, and despite the two front windows being double-glazed, traffic noise affects the bedrooms. The bedrooms on the side street do not have double glazing. We stayed three nights (a Saturday, Sunday and Monday). It was noisy the entire time. There is also a neighbour's dog that barks quite a bit.
The blinds do not block out the morning sun in the front bedroom.
The back door ramp is steep. I had to hold my partner's hand to feel secure and not lose my footing. This may be an issue for the disabled or elderly.
- Bronwyn (9/5): Would definitely stay again - Clean and very comfortable with a few little extras for us. Fresh milk in fridge, bread, fruit and a bottle of wine. If anything a neighboring dog barked quite a lot while we were there but luckily we were out and about some of the day.
- Leanne (9/5): Have stayed before (this was our 3rd stay) and will stay again if we find ourselves in Mt Gambier. - Beautiful comfortable beds. Very clean property. Full bath and the shower had great pressure.
A bottle of wine left for us (a lovely thought). Heaters on for us as we arrived late. Some traffic noise in front bedroom, as it faces the highway but cannot be helped, did not worry us.
- Ian (9/5): This was the perfect property, clean and tidy, good location and the hosts were excellent. - The suprise gifts of wine, fresh fruit, juice and milk in the fridge. It was just great hospitality. Nothing
- Glenn (10/5): So clean and comfortable - This place is a little gem,
So clean and comfortable and the nice little touches are icing on the cake.
I would recommend this to anyone Nothing, we love the old cottage style places
- Ying (10/5): Comfortable place - Spacious and clean Nil
- Xin (10/5): Excellent - It is the best for its price Nothing
- Artis (9/5): Very relaxing and well appointed. Those beds are like clouds or giant marshmallows. - The luxurious beds and the antique style furniture. We want that kitchen table and chairs! The ramp at the back was a bit tricky for me using a walking stick and became quite slick with the rain. It was a bit steeper than I thought it would be so I would suggest letting future guests know if they have any disabilities.
- Lisa (10/5): Extremely comfortable and welcoming - Cosy and welcoming..added extras such as milk bread juice on arrival very thoughtful There was nothing..it was fabulous
- Matthew (10/5): Relaxed stay in a very welcoming and charming house. - Great charm, relaxing stay. Glad it hasn't been modernised and it's still got the original charm of the house. The owner's left bread, milk and juice for us, as well as a wine! Felt really welcomed. The road beside was a bit noisy, which the owner can't do anything about of course - but i'm scratching for a negative!
- Nelaturi (8/5): Tranquility amongst the caves. - Loved the property and location. Thank you for the bread, spreads and fresh fruit? Only one Bathroom / Toilet. Can be tricky for large families.
- Tahnee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional! Rare gem, all the little surprise touches that make your stay feel extra special. -
- Jessica (9/5): Superb - Beautiful little cottage central to everything.
- Margery (10/5): Happy Campers - My husband said "Lots of things!"
Clean and comfy
Great location
Nicely renovated
Special touches.. flowers and fresh bread etc
Warm and cosy but spacious
Everything we needed and more That we only had time for one night!l
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dianne (10/5): Would like to stay there again if I get to Mt Gambier again. - Lovely that Dante and his wife left us some bread, fruit, milk, etc. Very unexpected, but really lovely especially after arriving late after driving all day to get there. Loved Mt Gambier and would love to visit for a longer stay . Also, sorry for the late review, but had to cut our holiday short in Adelaide and I have been busy. Nothing.
- Christopher (9/5): Superb -
- Carolbill (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay, plenty of room for a bigger group if needed , all you need with some lovely extras provided. Close to the main cbd and all other attractions. Would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in Mt Gambier
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Smith (9/5): Perfect for our needs - Lovely cottage. We could share comfortably with my sister. Loved breakfast provisions The only downside was the traffic noise but that seemed to stop at about 11pm and didn't effect our sleeping
- Goldschmidt (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (9/5): Superb - Great house. Fantastic welcome package. Gad everything we needed
- Trish (9/5): Great accommodation for a family - Lovely and comfortable cottage with all the amenities you could need, including fruit and breakfast provisions. The beds were very comfortable. Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at Olive's Cottage and it was great value for money! Crappy TV with poor reception.
- Sammy (10/5): Nice and convenient stay - Clean and well furnished. Convenient location.
- Josephine (8/5): Lovely spot, beautifully presented and very welcoming. - The resident (?) cat was a lovely surprise The mattress could have benefited from a topper.
An extra few toilet rolls would have been handy as well.
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Valerie (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay! - So many thoughtful little extras provided to help us relax on arrival
- Jie (10/5): Lovely placeďź will be back if I need to stay in Mount Gambier again. - Lovely place to stay, host is very friendly, prepared bread, milk, and heat room for us at advance. Feels like home, it really worths money to have a holiday here. Nil
- Leanne (9/5): Will stay again and recommend to others - Clean
Comfortable beds
Good central location
Easy check in instructions
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Lee-anne (10/5): Large, comfortable home close to town centre. - The home was really large, clean and comfortable. Off street parking easily accessible. Thank you for the welcome of a warm home to enter into. Little extras were left to make our stay even easier and more pleasant. Well located close to town and attractions.
- Danielle (8/5): Gorgeous cottage in Mt Gambier - Great location. It was close to all the attractions in Mt Gambier as well as shopping should you need any groceries.
Plenty of heating to keep warm.
Had everything you need. Also included staples such as bread and milk, spreads for toast and a generous bottle of red.
Beautiful old (but maintained) cottage, like taking a step through time. A gorgeous property which was nicely decorated. Loved it Shower head wasn't adjustable and shower cubicle was too small to move away from the water stream if you didn't want to wet your hair. Easily fixed with a new shower head or disposable shower caps.
Mattress in bedroom off the dining room needs replacing. It's lumpy and you can feel the springs. Changed beds/bedrooms after the first night.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Norishaam (7/5): Although short stay, facilites were great. Me and my group of friends were happy with the stay - Cosy. Facilities were good. Convenient location. Nothing to dislike
- Melody00 (10/5): Exceptional - Was great to get there to the heaters already turned on, milk, bread, coffee, tea, fresh fruit and a bottle of wine stocked for us to use, warm comfy beds nice towels, nice shower, was great value for money and we will be back!
- Anonymous (10/5): All said this is a fantastic place to stay at an affordable price for what you get. - Warm, cosy, convenient location, space, comparable in price We have a disabled son 34yo who has to be assisted walking ect. The access was a little difficult for us and the path requires a pressure wash as it is a quite slippery. This could be hazardous for elderly as well.
Also just a simple thing: a bit more stock of welcoming tea and coffee. Spent nearly 8 hours on the road to get there and had to jump in the car again to go to shops. (I realise itâs self contained)
- Miroslav (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (10/5): We wish we could have stayed for longer, but we will definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend it! - A fantastic cottage with plenty of room. Very well looked after and very clean. It was lovely to arrive on a cold winter's day to the heaters going in most of the rooms, it certainly made it feel very welcoming and comfortable. Some basic breakfast supplies like a loaf of bread and spreads, cereal and milk were very appreciated. The hosts were very easy to deal with and accommodating when I wanted to make changes to my booking.
- Yusra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. The host was caring and had thought of everything possible. The heaters were on when we arrived. Give us a much needed comfort on a cold winter evening. All the daily essentials were provided. The kitchen was equipped with utensils as well as milk, butter, jam and coffee. Although our stay was only for 1 night, would love to visit again for a longer stay. Full stars for a lovely stay. There was nothing to not like.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - Enjoyed and surprised by how welcoming you made us feel with the warmth of the home and the having it already stocked with milk bread a lovely đˇ wine etc which was wonderful. Perfect place for catching up with family. Leaving.
- Leonila (10/5): Nice and comfortable! - Got everything we need! Even with free fruits! đThank you!
- Anthony (9/5): A warm cosy stay in a delightful cottage - Great little cottage in Mt Gambier. Very warm and comfortable on a cold winter night. Double beds super comfy. Overall a Very neat and clean place to say with plenty of room and with all the facilities required for a relaxing stay. Bathroom neat and clean though shower space a bit small
- Sueby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Your home was lovely and welcoming, we had everything we needed. The beds and linen were comfy and fresh. Were were there for a family reunion and had a wonderful stay. Thank you so very much x
- Valerie (9/5): Superb -
- Jamie (8/5): The perfect central spot for a family to explore the South East - Great location, well maintained cottage and very comfy with everything you would need and more. Not a dislike, but a blind that covered the morning sun a bit more in the front room would have been great.
- Aaron (9/5): Cosy home for a family - Location had good access to the city.
Bedrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and entertain.
The thoughtful provisions left were greatly appreciated. Things that were out of our hosts' control.
Would have liked to stay longer.
It looks like the property is unavailable next time we want to visit.
- Ed (10/5): Totally Hygge! Cosy and welcoming đ - Spacious, comfortable and welcoming. Everything a couple or family could need is provided and the personal welcoming gifts of wine, bread, fruit and milk made it even more special. Thanks to our hosts for making Mount Gambier a memorable experience. nothing
- Deborah (9/5): Only stayed for one night but would happily stay there again. - Great location and great value. Very comfortable beds. Nice atmosphere. The humming from the fridge is very loud.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olga (10/5): Hidden Gem - Very clean, large areas and a well stocked kitchen. The owners spoilt us with goodies: basket of fruit, bottle of wine, bread with spreads and a 2Ltr bottle of milk.
They also had a pod machine & a milk frother, so you can have a cafe style coffee.
The backyard is lovely and large, and a large front porch with privacy that you can sit out on. We really loved our stay there at an affordable price. The only thing that I would recommend is having a curtain in the kitchen for privacy but preferably a black out one, as the afternoon sun gets pretty warm in that room, otherwise it was a perfect stay.
- Anne (7/5): Short stay, happy with the house. - If there had been aircon - very hot days and nights.
- Jiale (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): We loved our stay wished we stayed longer - Great location very clean loaf of bread and fruit left was a very nice touch
- Vicky (8/5): loveky place very convenient, main road, bit noisy, but we had great stay - so clean , very functional , big couldnât open windows in bedroom
- Dierdre (8/5): Very good -
- Kellin (9/5): Superb - Beautiful, clean & spacious house. Kitchen fully equipped which made preparation of meals very convenient & efficient. The host was generous to provide us some fruits, butter, jam, milk & a loaf of bread. Rooms, including bath room, are big. The door knob to the bedrooms are a bit tricky as they are loose. The dog from the neighbour was making noise through the night. Thankfully, my daughter was too tired to be disturbed. The floor is not heated so it was very cold for my feet, even during summer.
- Adamnemo (10/5): Exceptional -
