Guest Reviews
- Ben (10/5): Loved it can’t wait to go again - The location the pool was a bonus Loved everything about the property
- Guest (8/5): Incredible retreat In an extraordinary location!! - Extraordinary location & pristine views, gorgeous sea breeze and amazing wildlife. The property felt like a luxurious retreat in amongst the wilds of the Daintree.
- Gaspard (10/5): A real gem in paradise - The view, the surrounding noises and animals, having all facilities available while still feeling this end-of-the-world remote feeling Nothing at all
- Peter (4/5): The property has exceptional qualities but limitation of use of electrical devices was an issue. - Amazing location, terrific views and very tastefully furnished Disappointed that we could not use electrical devices eg hairdryer, internet and tv limited to short time periods, no kettle , toaster, microwave etc
- Hayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosalind (9/5): Such a magical place - chance to totally unwind and marvel at the nature around. - Such a magical location- with stunning views of the sea and the rainforest ! Loved the plunge pool and the hammock. Close to the beach for walks. Facilities were good - everything we needed and beautifully furnished. Loved it ! Would have been good to have an energy meter so we could see how eco we were.....
- Fiona (9/5): Embrace Eco living in this away from it all beach house. Plunge pool and less than 1km to beach. - The house itself is spectacular. Beautiful. Lots of places to sit and soak up the atmosphere of the rainforest. Beautiful balcony with outside bath. Plunge pool and mini balcony with loungers, an internal snug to hunker down. Less than 1km down to the beach at Cow Bay. Peace and Quiet. We were totally self catering and I would advise this as it's not easy driving late at night and out of season not a lot is open. We stopped at Mossman to do a big shop but there are a couple of grocery stores along the day. We did a Croc tour (with the solar panel company and saw 4 crocs - would recommend). The boardwalks are very tame walks but the Mount Solomon hike is only for proper hikers - we saw some try it in Crocs and had to turn back! Do not swim in the sea round here (drilled into you). There are some swim holes though. You need a car really to get around here. Recommend also the ice cream factory too! I'm being really picky here.... the house is amazing. BUT, the bathroom is outside the front door. That's fine unless you are someone who goes to the loo a lot in the night - and it's pitch black (although they provide lots of torches). Also....WIFI is available and good for emails but it is run on satellite and usage is discouraged (I did try to treat it like a digital detox which was fine but if you are family with teens who want to download things, it would not be ideal.
- Ella (8/5): Surrounded by nature views of ocean beaut deck and a fun night walk down to the creek! - Thought the bath was a spa bath and kids weren’t pumped by the tv. For the amount we spent staying and getting there it felt a bit rough being told not to consume too much energy once there thou understand why it’s important and justified. We were very conscious not to and that kind of wasn’t relaxing. (First world privilege I know) Doubt most people would care!
- Kate (10/5): An unforgettable place to enjoy the beauty of the Daintree - Absolutely beautiful location, magical setting and lovely house Nothing
- Ryan (10/5): An amazing place to stay! - Everything. Great location, amazing views, beach minutes away. Highly recommend. Not much. Secluded, but thats the appeal.
- Sarah (7/5): Truly secluded eco house - The setting is amazing and the furnishings are comfortable. It wasn't clear on the property description that this "eco house" had limitations, for example, its own electrical supply, which meant that electricity had to be conserved and wifi was only meant to be used for an hour a day. Other omissions - the bathroom is out the front door which is a challenge in the middle of the rainforest in the middle of the night. Also the description has other ambiguities about what's included - wine on arrival for example, a coffee bar??
- Christine (9/5): Breathtaking views. We were enveloped by nature while we relaxed in a resort style home. - .We adored the location and views were breathtaking. The eco friendly philosophy and practicalities were appreciated. The pool and hammock were well used. We read a lot and played games. The quiet and darkness of night one was beautiful. The sunrises were phenomenal. Being set amongst the Daintree Rainforest was sublime. We didn’t see a cassowary 😜😜 we were impressed with the recounts from guests that they had success here. We saw a gorgeous gecko.
- Anat (6/5): Some important facts were missing....while choosing the house. - The location was great. We did not know before our stay that everything is solar + generator.
We did not have electricity for quite a few hours on our first night, and the generator did not work .
We did not have water as well for a few hours.
The house is very old and very basic.
The bass room is located out of the house!
We got ferry tickets only for 1 way and not as was written .
- Rebeca (10/5): Highly recommend it’s possibly the best house and location in cow bay - The location and view are amazing
- Julia (9/5): Amazing gem in a wonderful location -
- Shauna (10/5): The most magical stay in the rainforest - One of the most beautiful places we've stayed, not only is the nature amazing but the house itself is stunningly decorated, with amazing facilities and one of the most friendliest hosts we've met!
- Natalie (9/5): A most marvellous and unique spot in the world - Many thanks, Kate, for a splendid stay. The views and location are stunning and we have many gorgeous memories of our time in the Daintree Rainforest at Magical Daintree. The pool water could have felt cleaner.
