Guest Reviews
- Caroline (8/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): Charming & well appointed Cottage - Loved the warmth of this charming cottage, the garden was really lively also. This Cottage sits so close to the road that you hear all the passing trucks & cars as if ypu were standing outside.
We stayed whilst there were road works further up & a detour brought significant traffic ..right to our door - literally. Note: th8s was not a us7al level of road noise.
Theres only a few feet from front door / main bedroom to road so be aware of that if you're a light sleeper.
Notably these gorgeous older cottages dont have great sound insulation so bed 2 heard every road noise as much as bed 1. Again - there was a diversion that sent heavy traffic past while we stayed so im sure we got the absolute worst of it.
Lovely place, well appointed. Great central heating, heated bathroom floor, gorgeous shower & water pressure and stunning clawfoot bath.
Wonderful that our Oodles were welcome & they enjoyed the large yard & put the Doggy door to good use.

- Stephen (8/5): Quiet dog-friendly retreat in the Blue Mountains - Quiet cottage with all the amenities and a large fenced yard which the dog enjoyed. Nothing I disliked. It’s a short drive to Blackheath and 20 minute drive to Katoomba, which is worth bearing in mind.
- Wayne (4/5): Very tiring . - The old cottage had character, the fire place was very welcomed . The cottage was clean and well stocked with utensils. Unfortunately the traffic noise ( large trucks) all night was very testing. It is no fault of the owners however we could not sleep and there for would not recommend this place to stay.
- Jake (10/5): -
- Belinda (6/5): The house was good, location bad due to traffic noise - The kitchen was good, the backyard was good for my small dog but would be no good for a big dog. The traffic noise was loud,
A random teenager came to the door asking lots of questions which made me nervous and the place had a musty smell that once you aired it out was ok but you should think about getting the agent to open it up before guests come.
- Michelle (6/5): Sleepless in the cottage. - The cottage was cosy and well appointed. The majority of the essentials were provided. The secure back garden for the dogs was appreciated. The location of the cottage is on a major truck route, which made sleeping a challenge, even sleeping in the back bedroom with ear plugs.
We are aware that there is nothing the owners can do to change the location, maybe double glazing may help a little.
- Izabella (10/5): A beautiful place to decompress, close to gorgeous lookout points only a short walk away. The place was gorgeous, comfor - It’s cosy, comfortable and very homey— my puppy and I absolutely loved our stay. Huge garden for my puppy, warm internal heating and a really cosy vibe
- Nikki (5/5): Passable -
- Jenny (9/5): Quaint, cozy stay - Was a lovely, cosy stay in Mount Victoria. Felt homey as soon as we walked through the door. The house had all we needed, including a yard for the dogs to run around in, an indoor fireplace to relax next to at night and a nice bath tub!
Only downside is that it can be a little noisy with the street and big trucks travelling up and down it.
- Tamara (9/5): Recommended pet friendly accommodation in cosy cottage. - Very pet friendly which was great. Nothing really just a little noisy with road traffic but didn’t impact our stay.
- Buchanan (10/5): Relaxing great spot to unwind and switch off from reality - The style of the cottage and the location was beautiful and peaceful , the cottage had everything that was needed and very comfortable would definitely stay again and would recommend to friends and family great stay for the price. Nothing everything was perfect
- George (10/5): A wonderful place to relax and refresh after a long road trip. - The charm and spaciousness.
It had all the amenities we needed and more.
The heating was excellent.
- Joanna (8/5): Very good -
- Kat (8/5): Lovely house, we enjoyed our stay. - Very cozy and beautiful, super clean. Lots of beautiful old timey details. Very close to a busy road and very noisy at night.
The firewood logs were too large for the fire and didn’t burn.
- Jalbert (8/5): Great facilities. Big bathroom, kitchen well equipped, fantastic yard with BBQ and fireplace. - Great location for a stay with our dog. The bed was not very comfortable- too soft and old - probably ok enough for most people but not if you have a fragile back.
- Sandeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tahnee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jackson (7/5): Beautiful cottage - Beautifully decorated. Super comfortable bedding. Fire place was great! Completely underestimated just how loud the trucks would be! I don't think there is any glazing based on the sound. I feel this should've been noted prior to booking for awareness.
- Deaman (6/5): Disappointing - Blackheath was a great area and we explored the other towns around. Lots of little things: road noise, bedding, lack of internet, dripping shower, back steps.
- Jennifer (8/5): Warm, welcoming, and comfortable cottage. - Central heating combined with the wood fire kept us warm, and appreciated the heated bathroom floor on a couple of cold days. Secure and comfortable property for our dog and cats. Excellent communication and responsiveness from hosts. The lovely bath was most welcome, though Mum couldn’t easily access the shower. We were aware there would be truck/traffic noise from the road given the position of the house but didn’t except it to be quite so impactful. It felt like the vehicles were travelling very fast right past the bed in the darkness. An investment in double or triple glazing on the front bedroom window would enhance the comfort. A rail from the back door down to the path would be helpful for guests with mobility challenges, as was the case for my Mum.
- Hs2017 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (5/5): The puppies had a wonderful time in the backyard, the cottage has all you need & great communication with the host. - Outdoor & indoor fireplaces. Secure yard for small to medium dogs. Loved the big iron bath. The position of the cottage is on a very busy road with cars, truck & dog trailers travelling all day & night, making it noisy with disruptive sleep.
- Lea (9/5): Mt Victoria Short Break - Pet friendly and lots of room inside and outside
- Calvin (9/5): Superb -
- Sophiagillis (10/5): Loved my weekend getaway - Absolutely loved this house. Beautiful. Super clean. Convenient location. Wonderful hosts. Nothing really! It was a little unfortunate i couldn't get the air-conditioning to work but that was a very very minor thing. I'd still highly recommend this little house to anyone!
- Mandeep (9/5): excellent property - the property was clean, well maintained, and very well provisioned. the stay was comfortable. the noise from the traffic outside. but not much of a bother as we are not light sleepers.
- Deanne (9/5): Bonnie Blue Cottage was charming, warm and cosy and we would definitely stay again. - It was cosy and comfortable with super clear instructions and great communication Close to a road with noisy trucks but that didn’t bother us too much as they were few and far between.
