Guest Reviews
- McClure (10/5): We had a lovely stay at Gowan Cottage. Beds were comfy, open fire was great! - Location is very isolated but that was expected. Wifi was reliable.
- Kyri (10/5): Lovely family home among beautiful gardens and bushland where you can unwind and enjoy nature. -
- Stephen (7/5): - Beautifully set up Difficult to get in. Further away from our wedding than expected
- Barbara (8/5): Very good - Lovely cottage to stay in for a few days. Had everything we needed. Was difficult to find at dusk and raining, so would recommend planning to arrive during daylight.
- Ivonne (8/5): An Unexpected Adventure but Relaxation Awaits - Very cosy and spacious cottage. It was a great place to be able to unwind and relax. The property itself was very beautiful, especially since we came in Autumn. Very picturesque. The bathroom was nice and clean, water for the shower heated up quite quickly and each room had a heater, which came in handy as it was supee cold. Wifi also came in handy as there was little to no reception in the cottage
As its far from the city, the starry night view was absolutely beautiful. Finding the property was a bit hard, the driveway was overgrown, so it was hard to figure out if it was actually a path we could drive through. We all got lost on the way. I don't recommend driving up when the sun sets.
There were a few bugs, which was expected from the location, but we found some in the cupboards, some cobwebs, and some dishes that seemed unwashed were in the cupboards too. There seemed to be old food from previous visits in the freezer, too.
- Carol (7/5): Lovely quaint cottage and we would be happy to visit again - The cottage was nice. Plenty of heating. Kitchen well set up. TV set up including chromecast was really good. There was lots of firewood (though a lot was wet). Really good fire place No kindling and no axe to make kindling.
Outside sensor lights not turned on when we arrived.
One of the single bed electric blankets didn't appear to work.
- Geoff (8/5): Very good -
- Taylor (10/5): Exceptional - The owners of the property were absolutely phenomenal
- Maria (6/5): Liked the electric blankets and valley views. - Location, property has character. The rule about leaving an empty dishwasher means you have to hand wash your breakfast dishes. I’m not sure that’s a good hygiene practice for the next guests. Also the note from the agency about not posting items left behind is a bit off putting. Also we couldn’t light a fire in the chimney without a working lighter or matches, paper or wood shavings. It’s a shame as we chose the property because of its fireplace.
- Kejia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pauline (9/5): A peaceful and comfortable retreat from city life. - Comfortable, spacious, very well equipped. Beautiful location and garden. No instructions for oven or microwave. Oven seemed to be faulty.
- Williamson (10/5): Exceptional - Great location to explore the surrounding canyons
- Hairong (8/5): Very good - light need to change
- Aparna23 (8/5): Best Autumn holiday home - Beautiful place and lovely location, must stay during autumn 🍂 There were no locks in any of the washeooms which was risky with 3 kids in the house
