Guest Reviews
- Jodie (9/5): - The view was magnificent and the bed was really comfy. Joolie was lovely and the bottle of wine was a lovely touch. The heating was great too! Didnt realise that there were no local shops anywhere close. I couldnt find an iron and I would replace the lounge. Even though it was nice, it wasnt comfortable.
- Conor (10/5): -
- Joanna (6/5): Not for us! - The bath tub, and good views from the balcony. Too much personal clutter, the curtains were ill fitting so always light, and very small.
- Karen (9/5): Comfortable, cosy cabin with spectacular views. - A cosy beautifully decorated cabin in a lovely cottage garden with spectacular views towards the Gold Coast. It was fun watching the paragliders sailing past! The kitchenette had most facilities you would need for a weekend given the small space, was well equipped, clean and tidy. There is occasional noise from the road below but not at night. The cabin is only 15 mins drive from the start of the Binna Burra walking trails. Communication with Joolie was easy and welcoming. The wine and treats were much appreciated. I couldn't locate the washing machine listed in the description. Some older folk might find it difficult to climb in the bath to access the shower.
- Tazzy (10/5): - Scenery and privacy. Thoughtful host. Lovely location and town full of friendly people That we didn’t stay for longer!
- Ella (9/5): -
- SK (9/5): The view was amazing and the cottage is perfect for our mini vacation. - Check-in process was well communicated and smooth. The hosts left us a bottle of wine and chocolate which was great. Overall it was very easy to check-in and we appreciated the communications from the host.
- Lynnie HK (10/5): - I liked everything. It was such a great getaway with great views.
If you are planning to visit this mountain, you must stay here- budget, eco friendly. I would recommend it to my friends.
BBQ was helpful outside instead of cooking inside.
I was a bit concerned about wallabies, kangaroo in the morning and night but they were not that big and pretty calm more than I thought.
Any cars can come up to the accommodation! No dirt road. 😊
Thank you Joolie.
Wish you a wonderful new year.
- Alessandro (10/5): Stupendo - Tutto! Ma il balcone con la vista stupenda sulla valle è indescrivibile! Nulla
- Derwena (6/5): Lovely location - Gorgeous location and eco friendly which is a plus Lack of communication with the person renting the property. Took a few days to respond to messages
- Nicholas (9/5): - Perfect place for a long weekend and only 15 mins from the Hikes of Lsmington National Park. Joolie was very great with communication and helpful tips along the way. We'd head back again.
- Geoff (9/5): - !
- Vicki (9/5): A very private, comfortable stay with million dollar views. - Amazing location. It was extremely private and everything you need was provided. The wine, cheese and biscuits were the perfect touch! Surrounded by native trees, flowering jasmine, lemon trees and a veggie garden - the view to the Gold Coast was spectacular!
- Maryann (9/5): A view from the top - Willow Cabin was like a warm hug with a stunning view over the valley from the lovely deck. We were greeted by Mike who shared his enthusiasm for his creation, showed us what was what, and then left us to our own devices, complete with complimentary wine, cheese and chocolate. Lots of quirky books and knick-knacks to keep us occupied. Bijoux but perfect for one or two. If I had done my homework better, I would have known that Beechmont is on a mountain and the closest food shopping is 20 minutes away down a windy road, so it pays to come prepared.
- Greg and Joann (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and would visit again ... depending on price. - The best feature of this cute 6M x 6M cabin was the view. The cabin is comfortable without being luxurious, the kitchen is necessarily tiny but functional with one hotplate. There is a balcony that would be nice in good not-windy weather. The cabin is decorated with many zany artworks and books if you like that sort of thing. The owners were reachable but left us to ourselves which was nice. We enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately the main road to Beechmont is just below the cabin can be quite noisy at times but less so at night. There is minimal storage in such a small space and the far side of the bed is squeezy to access.
- Valerie (9/5): - Our hosts were incredibly kind and thoughtful — they made us feel so welcome from the start. The studio was stylish, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The terrace was the real highlight — the view was absolutely breathtaking!
The location was also perfect for exploring the nearby national parks, each one more beautiful than the last. Truly a magical place !
- Peter (8/5): Great location and views - Views, privacy, responsive of owners. Fantastic to access to EV charging No table to sit at and eat inside. No cupboard for supplies.
- Anthony (10/5): A perfect getaway in nature and in comfort. - Willow Cabin is just so lovely! The views are spectacular. We woke up to the most stunning winter sunrises that we could watch from our bed, or from the balcony. The Cabin was decorated in such an interesting and attractive manner. There were so many little touches (fresh flowers, wine and cheese upon arrival, a variety of unusual loose leaf teas, fresh lemons, etc.) that made us feel welcome. It's small and cosy and has everything we needed, and more. The bird life and local wallaby visitors were the icing on the cake. It was hard to leave.
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - The views were spectacular. Spending the weekend in a beautiful cozy cottage with the sounds of birds was amazing.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Willow Cabin is the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway in stunning surrounds. Luxurious comfort in a world class set - Comfortable bed, great cooking/kitchen facilities, amazing view, excellent water pressure and bathroom. Warm and helpful hosts with excellent communication. Nothing to improve from our perspective.
- Natalie (8/5): Secluded, quiet, and rejuvenating - The cabin is nestled behind the main house and is a fully self contained separate living space. The facilities were great and the ambience of being in the forest was beautiful. The view of the coastline at sunrise was amazing and while watching the sunrise and listening to the birds wake up we saw a wallaby and her joey. I would definitely stay here again.
- Tammey (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryl (9/5): Superb - Lovely views, when it stopped raining. Nice deck and BBQ
Helpful and friendly hosts Lovely welcome goodies and wine
- Sarah (9/5): A Little Slice of Paradise - Beautiful location and tastefully decorated accommodation for a short getaway.
Joolie was very welcoming and accommodating. Appreciated the little extras. Unfortunately the rain was relentless so we couldn’t enjoy an evening on the deck as we’d hoped. Will have to return
- Stefan (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (8/5): We enjoyed our 2 night short vacation with beautiful views amongst tree tops overlooking valley and watching paraglides - Visually private space, scenically beautiful, great deck. Quirky interior with great amenities. No top sheet on bed, only Doona which was far too hot in middle of summer.
Noisy road below property , as was long weekend with lots of loud motorbikes passing by ( may be better on non holiday time )
- Fernance (9/5): Superb -
- Cherry (10/5): Exceptional - It is a very well appointed cabin with everything to make your stay enjoyable.
And the view to the coast is amazing.
- Kym (9/5): Great communication and easy check in and out. Thoughtful touches and everything you need to escape and rejuvenate. - Beautiful escape from the world. Well equipped but coffee shops within 5mins driving distance.
- Anne (9/5): Superb - The location was lovely. Many thoughtful and personal touches to the rooms. The gardens were just lovely and the deck was perfect with many honey eaters visiting. Access a bit steep and slippery from parking area to the cabin though we are seniors and there had been a lot of rain.
Showering was tricky (again for an older person ) with shower over a stand alone bath tub.
- Benita (9/5): Superb -
- Felipe (10/5): exceptional - It has been an incredible experience, very satisfied with my stay, I will not hesitate to recommend or return, it is a magical place with all the necessary amenities to have an escape from the city, the art that decorates the house is amazing, its books, its details are unique. Truly, congratulations for having such a beautiful place, its location is perfect and the view is amazing, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the lights are great, the bathroom is very clean and comfortable, actually my rating is a 1000 out of 100 not having reserved more days to be able to stay longer :D everything was spectacular
- Jason (10/5): Very relaxing and comfortable - Peaceful location
- Nikki (10/5): The most gorgeous cabin! - Gorgeous cabin, a perfectly peaceful and private setting, surrounded by nature. Great location to explore Binna Burra trails and a short trip away to Green Mountain section. The terrace/balcony was fabulous. Sunsets and sunrise from here were beautiful. I loved waking up to the gentle bird song and the bath was lovely. Bathroom sink slow to drain but no big deal.
- Lesley (10/5): Lovely little home from home - Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, great location, views fantastic.
- Errol (9/5): Perfect for a few days away in the mountains - What an amazing view from the deck.
Wonderful to arrive to a bottle of wine and chocolate, milk in the fridge for coffee and even a couple of frozen meals if needed. I’m not a great bath person - so I would appreciate a proper shower rather than the shower over the bath.
- Jane (8/5): Very good - The deck and view Kitchen facilities and equipment were basic
- Amber (9/5): Homely and cosy. just lovely - simply lovely. everything well thought out to make it comfortable and cosy
- Annie (10/5): Great getaway accommodation, relaxing, quiet and close enough to walking tracks and other amenities. Loved it! - The owners thought about everything that one would need for a pleasant break. Nothing springs to mind
- Matilda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (9/5): Superb - Quiet and cosy cabin. Relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and the views were amazing!
- Sorell (10/5): Delightful and cosy with views to die for! - Very cosy, comfortable, and set up nicely. Kitchen perfect to be able to prepare meals. Lovely bathroom. The deck was the best part - those views! Waking up to that view and the lovely sound of birds calling was a treat. It was a bit of a challenge for 2 of us to put our luggage out of the way. But not a big deal.
- Wayne (6/5): Just wished the host would have greeted us - Location was great to Lamington national park Would have been nice to be greeted by the host to explain a few things , we did have issues with the light switches working out what did what , and shower curtains reminded me of the 70s , if you forgot to move the curtain inside the bathtub while showering you almost flooded the bathroom
- Sharen (9/5): Gorgeous romantic little cabin! Loved the location, the views, the huge bathroom. - Willow cabin was the perfect spot to relax and unwind! Lovely to hear the birds.
- Sally (10/5): Willow Cabin is a wonderful place to stay especially as a base for exploring Lamington National Park. - Everything. It was perfect for me. Especially the bathtub. The wine, cheese, almonds, dates etc and the flowers were divine. I would recommend and come again if I’m looking for a place in future. Nothing.
- Lisa (10/5): The perfect cosy escape 😊🫶🏻 - The exceptional views, the cosy atmosphere, the serenity and the huge bath. It was also really lovely that the Netflix account had an account set up for guests and Wifi worked so easy, no problems, even in the mountains.
Also the addition of extra treats like cheese, crackers, wine and home grown lemons/herbs. Just very thoughtful. I loved it!
- Gabrielle (9/5): Such a lovely place. Perfect place to explore the area - Great view over the valley. Nice and cosy. Good value
- Hannah (10/5): The perfect solo getaway! - So cozy and spacious at the same time. Quality linen and many throws will keep you warm and comfortable. The owners are so welcoming. The back veranda is private and just wonderful for having your morning coffee. The location is only 15mins away from Lamington National Park (scenic trails). Great for solo travellers or couples. I cannot wait to visit again.
- Adela (9/5): Superb - Lovely host, gorgeous view and great bath.
- John (9/5): Comfortable, clean and quiet. - Liked the location including the view. Had to be careful with the shower curtain to make sure water did not splash on the floor.
- Ted (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (8/5): Very good - Lovely little cabin with uncovered deck. Well appointed with everything inside for a short stay. Bright and light. Parking was close to property front gate but had to negotiate numerous garden steps on a fairly steep pathway down to the cabin. Keep your luggage light. Not able to wheel a suitcase down.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mei (10/5): Magical, relaxing getaway - Beautifully cosy, great deck with views of the valley. Loved the bathtub too The pillows were all too soft.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Lovely, relaxing getaway - we will definitely be back! - Lovely stay. Fantastic views. Friendly host. Cabin was very clean, comfortable, well stocked, and fitted out with everything you need. Jug of fresh milk, fresh herbs, cheese, bikkies and wine suppled, which we enjoyed on the balcony that evening watching the stars. Nothing
- Jenni (10/5): Exceptional - Privacy, everything we needed and lots of creature comforts, very clean and beautifully presented, lovely touches like fresh herbs and flowers, lounging on the deck enjoying amazing views and bird life, proximity to national park. Really appreciated quality pillows ❤ Close to the road - which you can't see - and people who drive/ride noisy vehicles too fast. Night time quiet though.
- Roula (10/5): Beautifully presented mountain haven - It was a beautifully presented space but still comfortable and relaxing. The view was breathtaking and it had the bath tub of my dreams Nothing but if I bring my husband next time it would be lovely to have non duck feather pillows/doona due yo hayfever allergies
- Josh (9/5): Superb -
- Ray (9/5): Superb - Great little cabin with views forever over the mountains and Gold Coast. Everything was perfect...
- Samantha (9/5): Superb - Everything
- Mike (9/5): Superb - The cabin was well located..great view. Well appointed It was very hot in the morning.. the sun belts in from the east
- Emma (10/5): Glorious cabin. Amazing hosts. Definitely recommend! - Beautiful cabin. So well decorated with every amenity you could ever need. Amazing bath tub. Glorious views. Hosts kindly left us a bottle of wine, cheese, and chocolates - as well as food in the freezer in case we arrived after shops closed. They even kindly did laundry for us and dropped it off. Awesome place!! We loved everything. Only suggestion would be a shelf to the left of the bed on the wall for clothes, and a few more hooks for hanging wet clothes / a drying rack.
- David (10/5): Perfect Weekend Escape. - Great attention to detail and wonderful little touches to make the stay more pleasant. It was perfect for us.
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Svetlana (9/5): Superb -
- Khanh (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (10/5): nice quiet place to park up. this place was exceptional clean. cleanlyness is key when we travel and this place was clea - private. bit of a view. nice and cosy
- Samantha (10/5): Very accommodating & such a beautiful stay! 💕 - Beautiful location, beautiful cabin! Will be returning for another getaway 💕 It is a bit of a walk to the cabin from the entrance but other than that no issues at all!
- Peter (9/5): Was a great place to stay. Very comfortable. Great views and felt secluded. -
- Sarah (10/5): Very cute spot, had all that we needed for a weekend away somewhere peaceful. - Clean, anything we could need for the weekend was there Bathroom smelled a little damp, water pressure on taps a little temperamental
- Sunita (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqui (6/5): Pleasant - Very well provisioned. Great lighting at night. Comfortable bed It was freezing inside.
- Leanne (10/5): Will stay here again. Just beautiful - The property was in a quiet location. Everything you need was supplied. A lovely touch being supplied with a bottle of wine and chocolates The heater was a bit small for this time of year
- Jan (8/5): relaxing, homely accom, wonderful short stay on the mountain - beautifully designed, comfortable and sustainable, lovely gardens and view. a little smaller than I imagined but still great. limited storage space for luggage/unpacking clothes
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy, comfy, well-appointed and excellent views!
- Therese (7/5): An enjoyable stay in a beautiful area - The cottage is in a great location for visiting Lamington National Park and Mt Tamborine. The hosts were charming and helpful. The view was lovely. The cottage is very small e.g. the bedroom is only separated from the living area by half a wall, there is not much space for your clothes and bags, and the kitchen area is tiny. This would be fine for a short stay and if you only want to cook simple meals if at all. While the hosts were not intrusive, the cottage is at the bottom of their garden.
- Carolyn (9/5): Beechmont Escape - The cabin is set amongst the trees in the beautiful location of Beecmont, with access to lovely walks and beautiful views. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and chocolates on arrival, the privacy, the selection of books and the deck which extended the living space into the garden. There are a few cafes in the area, fewer restaurants, and the nearest supermarket is a 20 minute drive away. Thank you to our hosts, Joolie and Michael.
- Tim (10/5): Little slice of heaven! - Willow Cabin is a little slice of heaven! We loved the feeling of being in the outdoors, but with every little luxury looked after. We loved the deck, bathtub, and the lovely extra touch of a bottle of wine to enjoy. Everything has been thought of - thank you!! Nothing
- Vladimira (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great, beautifully maintained garden, peace and quiet. Lovely deck with views and nice seating. Small space further reduced by most available surfaces being filled with books and knick knacks, leaving minimal space for our stuff. No space to eat other than the sofa when it was wet outside. Cleaning seemed a bit superficial. No ingrained dirt or anything, but there was a fair bit of other people's hair on the floor and in the fabrics, including a toe/ finger nail found on the coffee table. It's a nice cosy space so a bit of decluttering and a proper clean would make it a lovely place to stay.
- Rhys (10/5): Exceptional - I liked the views, the cozy cabin and having everything I needed. nothing.
- Jeremy (9/5): Perfect Hideaway - Willow Cabin is absolutely beautiful! I went with the desire to rest and it was the most perfect place to hide away. I loved the privacy and peace and quiet.
Beechmont is stunning and the views are breathtaking, sitting on the verandah and taking it all in was lovely.
The bath was amazing also!! I visited midweek and did not realise that the local Cafe was not open. The cooking facilities at the Cabin were not excellent, only one element was working on the stove top burner and it was challenging to cook the food that I had brought along with me. No instructions for the convection oven.
- Jas (8/5): was fun! - was all good
- Avalon (10/5): Cosy cabin with amazing hosts - lovely place, great communication. Even gave us a great bottle of wine.
- Gabrielle (10/5): This gorgeous little cabin was perfect for our weekend away! Although small was very comfortable and was perfect for my - Everything small we needed was available! bathroom amenities, kitchen supplies and even a lovely bottle of Pinot to start our weekend off!
