Guest Reviews
- CHOOI HAR (8/5): -
- Jeanette (5/5): Average for the price - Outlook No clothes dryer and bathrooms not cleaned properly, the property is tired
- Nopparat (8/5): - Spacious three bedrooms and two bathrooms villa with a view & facilities like dishwasher and washer. The hot water is inconsistent and could run out real fast if you have multiple people using. Master bedroom toilet seat had seen it's better days.
- Georgina (9/5): Fabulous stay - lots of room great location - Great location , great facilities and very clean and tidy Nothing
- Helen (7/5): In general happy with it - Happy with everything but the water situation for showers was bit challenging. No water pressure was the main problem
- Geoff (9/5): Lovely comfortable stay at Boomers Retreat. - Very comfortable house in a great location, beautiful aspect. Lack of water pressure in the showers was a challenge to say the least!
- Joanne (10/5): Loved it - Super neat property with plenty attention to detail and obviously well-loved. Kitchen was well stocked with basic items including coffee pods, teas, sauces, etc. Location was just around the corner from Bruny Island Hotel with greet meals overlooking the ocean. Plenty Pademelons (Tassie kangaroos) in the yard from dawn to dusk. There were only 4 adults in our party, and the home had a spare bedroom for at least 4 more people. Nothing
- Yukun (9/5): - 位置很方便,住的也挺舒服。
- Margie (9/5): Fabulous location. - Fabulous location. Great amenities.
Close to the Bruny Hotel for a great meal. Poor water pressure.
- Ivy (10/5): -
- Dianne (9/5): -
- Bridget (9/5): Fantastic -
- jodi (8/5): - Shower pressure
- Elle (5/5): Good location but overpriced for what it is providing. - Good location. We stated in advance that four adults were staying but we were only given 3 towels. There was one hand towel between two separate bathrooms and no face washers. Minimal toilet paper left, soap, body wash etc provided was also very poor. The house is in need of a decent clean, lots of dead bugs, marks on walls and sink and shower was not cleaned properly. The beds were also uncomfortable.
- Karyn (10/5): - Everything was great, and great comms from owner after we arrived
- Phillip (8/5): Had a great stay and have recommended to our friends. - Location, well appointed, ensuite to each bedroom, great outdoor deck. Nothing to mention
- Stephanie (9/5): -
- Despina (10/5): Great house, fantastic location, cant wait to go back again, - When we arrived at the property, Josh was at the property and had prepared everything for us . It was very easy to find with great signage out the front. Beautiful house and well appointed. Nice little stroll the pub which had great food and fantastic vibes,
The house was warm and inviting with incredible views, It was peaceful and just a pleasure to stay. The kitchen was well stocked with staples which was great because there wasn't a supermarket near by on the island. So good tip is to bring what you need with you form the mainland. Beds were super comfy and heaps of things around the house to entertain you.
We absolutely loved and look forward to going back again
- Michell (8/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): Wonderful family escape - Perfect location and set up for the six of us adults. We had a wonderful belated Xmas time together.
- Wai Ling (9/5): 原來是屬於Bruny Hotel 管理的, 所以所有東西也很整潔, 住得很舒服 - 好整潔
- Dorothy (10/5): -
- Ben (10/5): - The whole house was well equiped and lovelily decorated. Saw a wallaby and a bunny in the yard. Good water view. Close to a beach and a resturant.
- Anna (6/5): Excellent - Location and nature None. Everything was perfect for our one night stay
- Sulfi (7/5): It was ok. We all appreciated how clean the house was for our arrival. There was plenty of glassware and salad bowls and - The property was very clean and close to the pub for dinner. The dishwasher was a helpful addition in the kitchen, and I loved the coffee pod machine and generous supply of coffee pods. Lovely collection of books, dvds and games at the property. The beds were comfortable and clean. The property isn’t set up to comfortably for more than a couple of people. The living area and kitchen is very small and the small outdoor deck is unusable without any sun/rain covering. The outdoor umbrella is completely broken
It would be helpful to know before arriving at the property that the nearest shop to the property is a 40 minute round trip in the car. We had four people staying, with only 200ml milk for tea/coffee to see us through to morning. We would have brought milk with us had we known.
A spare tea towel or two would be great - one tea towel for 2/3 days gets pretty gross.
We were woken at 4.30am with a false fire alarm sounding in the bedrooms. It turned itself off luckily, then screamed at us again at 7am after we’d all gone back to sleep. Not great on a Sunday morning!
- Jeff (7/5): Enjoyed our stay at Boomers Retreat but a few small items that detracted from the overall experience - Message sent on the day with the code to the lock box next to the front door - no issue getting in at all.
The place was very clean, and there was everything we needed for the stay. loved the Coonara in the lounge room.
Beds were comfortable, couches were great and good selection of DVD's. Great spot close to the water and Pub and central to a lot of local facilities. Nespresso machine was much appreciated. Property entry looked a bit shabby and in need of some attention - the sign at the front was broken, the front walkway planks were broken in a few places and loose is others. Needed a bit of a paint on the walkway as well.
Looked good inside - but needs a good going over and fixing of a few minor items.
The curtain rails loose in two of the bedrooms, no fly screens on some of the windows, no curtain/privacy on the main bathroom window, No BBQ at all, the out door umbrella was broken and unusable. Leaking shower in Ensuite - just small stuff that could easily be fixed. Main annoyance for the whole stay was that the refrigerator was way too small for a family/group stay, and hinged the wrong way. It's just the small things that can be sorted without too much effort.
- Elisabeth (7/5): Spacious, comfortable house with a nice view - Spacious, comfortable and in a good position to visit either the Bruny Lighthouse or Adventure Bay. Lovely view of the waterway between Bruny and Tasmania mainland from the living areas. Great to have a washing machine after being on the road for a few weeks. Great WiFi
There is a pub nearby if you want a meal. Quieter location than we expected.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - A good size Not really that well equipped. No toilet paper provided
- Aye (10/5): -
- Yun (8/5): - I like the sunset view from the accommodation , and it's fun to have wallabys jump around. Also, you can see a lot of stars at the patio outside too.
House was comfortable and warm in winter time. Mattresses are comfly but one of the bunk bed had very squeaky noise. The door at the main entrance hard to open, we end up need to enter from the patio.
My mom complaining it would be nice to have curtain for the window at the bathroom.
- Aimee (8/5): We booked for one night and went to the local Hotel Bruny for dinner which was very nice. - Lovely comfortable warm home. Beds were very good and warm. Wonderful sea views. Low pressure showers. Smaller TV in second bedroom did not work.
- Judy Mitchell (8/5): Very comfortable stay and would recommend the property. - Very comfortable. Wood fire was great on cold nights. Good location. Electric blankets in ensuite room didn’t work.
No bbq available after advertising that one would be there.
- Rebecca (9/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable. Beautiful island - Really well equipped and laid out property. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you step inside it is lovely. Watched a stunning sunset while having drinks on the deck. ? Not that this is the property’s fault but the cafe down the road is not open …. Maybe only opens in summer?
- Phuc (8/5): Delightful. - The property is very cozy, a great place for both relaxing and bonding.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Casper (10/5): Great property, great location. We would have loved to have stayed for longer! -
- Renata (9/5): Great Location, and perfect for the family - Location was great, right in the middle of the island. There was a shop, pub, cafe and baker near by. Great having the fireplace. Also there was water views, so perfect. Nothing
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely outlook, comfortable house - Spacious house with 2 bathrooms, nice deck with views to the water. Walk to Bruny Hotel for meals. Fully equipped kitchen do could self cater. Fireplace but didn’t use. Good quality linen. A bit expensive for only 3 people

- Julie (9/5): Perfect for friends and family getaways - A little gem! Well equipped, amazing views. This house was comfortable and the location amazing. A fire pit outside would be amazing to use and it needs some updates.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (10/5): Perfect place to relax!! - the house was great!! Nothing
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -

- I (10/5): Was a great stay, house is as photos. Location is good. Bonus was managed to star gazed. - Location is good. Just behind Bruny Hotel where we booked for good Dinner. Unblock frontage. We managed to catch to gazing star infront of the unit. perfect. Every was good. Bed are comfortable with heating during winter. No dryer in the unit.

- Adithya (8/5): Very good -
- Anita (10/5): Great location - A very loving stay at Bruny island
Good location as it’s near the neck lookout (about 10 min drive)
The accomodation feels very homey
We really love our stay here
Very recommended for group stay Nothing
- Laura (9/5): Great location to explore Bruny, magic sunsets! - Great location, loved the firepit! Good size rooms, the decoration and funiture is of good quality and makes you feel like home.
The host was very responsive and went above and beyond to solve any issues. Everything was perfect. Just be mindful that there is not much around for groceries etc, the pub is 10min walk.
- Rona (8/5): Very good -
- Yoshida (7/5): Good -
- Li (8/5): Very good - Big spacious house with modern decorations! The house had a poopy smell, maybe because the outdoors were full of wallabies' poop!
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Well equipped kitchen. Wallaby all around the property.
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Seck (9/5): A very good stay and we highly recommend for those who are keen to book. - The location is easy to find and you get to see the sunset from the deck. The house is very spacious and can easily fit 4 adults and 3-4 kids. Excellent holiday resort for families. Nothing we can think of.
- Pam (8/5): Very good -
- Jim (9/5): Such a good place, wish we could have stayed longer. - Very clean, great location, views excellent. Arrived on a very cold and wet day to a warm house - brilliant!
- Heather (4/5): Very disappointing for price. Wouldn’t recommend. - The position was great. Walking distance to the Bruny Hotel and the channel. Heat pump was so dirty it was inoperable. Stove top had 2 elements faulty. Deck umbrella broken. Bunk beds lumpy mattresses with dirty quilt covers.
- Shanshan (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (7/5): Lovely place. Just a few little things could - Location, lovely space. Comfortable beds Kitchen wasn’t very clean, dishes in the dishwasher.
- Noelia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Li (9/5): Great place to stay with so much necessities especially in the kitchen. - Excellent property facilities amongst the houses we stayed during the trip so far. Nothing much to complaint except one. If there is a dryer for the clothes after washing it would be perfect.
- Rainer (9/5): enjoyed it - - clean
- good location
- good price
- lots of space - missing bbq pit
- Blueeyes (10/5): nice room with sea view and sunset - this is a wonderful place, clearn and comfortable room, I can see the sunset seating in front of the living room, can walk a few minutes to the restaurant to eat and drink, can walk to the beach directly. if I could stay more than one day would be better
I'm
- Vanessa (10/5): Brilliant! We were able to shuck oysters in the kitchen whilst overlooking the water. - The kitchen facilities were excellent so we cooked our own breakfast. It was actually excellent. Nothing we disliked.
- Jo (9/5): Superb -
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the location
- Cindy (7/5): Good - Great location, clean and very spacious. The staff was extremely annoying and kept telling me to check in after 3pm and check out at 10am. I didn't get the code of the lock box until 2:30pm. Luckily my phone wasn't out of battery nor unable to access the Internet, otherwise we would have to try our best to guess the code under the rain. They should understand the internet reception is bad on the island.
- Dawn (10/5): Wonderful. -
- Saleem (10/5): Exceptional - Location and the house itself was good They should have lights outside the back area.
There was only 1 small light.
- Gerry (8/5): A nice property in a good location. Very pleasant vista. - The property was clean and well furnished. Layout was good and functional. Great for a large family. The late check in was disappointing, considering how isolated Bruny Island is. I couldn’t find the BBQ that was included. Advice about bring all necessary items ( food) would have assisted considering the lack of availability locally .
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Close to Pub!
- Emmali (7/5): Overall a nice stay but cleaning and maintenance needs to be improved. - The beds were comfortable. The locations was great. It had all the items we needed and decent size mugs for coffee! The oven and toaster had not been cleaned. The canvas above the couch was disturbing. The main toilet leaks and there was water on the floor from it. The air conditioner drips a fair bit of water when set on cold.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and extremely well appointed house
- Jill (10/5): Comfortable and enjoyable - Spacious, comfortable and perfect for 2 couples. Great location, interesting books Nothing to dislike
- Alice (7/5): Nice place but can be improved - The location was very nice, right next to hotel bruny. Great sunset. Quite spacious - two bedrooms with double/queen bed, the 3rd room had two bunk beds for kids. Heaps of board games and DVDs. The bathrooms were not clean. At a glance it may look play but drawers and under the sink were covered in dust. Also there was no body wash provided, glad I brought my own.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional - Had everything we needed, was close to the hotel and shop for dinner, welcoming interior and nice deck to watch the sunset. The owner gave us some great tips for our stay. Lovely, would stay again.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - I liked that the heating was already on for our arrival as well as ambient music. Facilities were on point and notices that the kitchen tabletops are not chopping boards made me chuckle. Beds are too hard but that's very subjective. Water pressure could have been better and water pump noise is very distracting in an otherwise serene and tranquil setting.
- Kathy (10/5): Value for money! Nice spot for shooting Aurora and Milky Way photos 👍 - Tidy, neat, cosy and well equipped, have everything you needed! Plenty of Chux cloths for cleaning, generous owner 👍 close to bottle shop, store even eat-in dining… N/A
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
