Guest Reviews
- Sean (9/5): It was a wonderfully relaxing stay - It was peaceful and relaxing The driveway was dirt and gravel and my car struggled to get up it.
- Rose (7/5): - The place was spacious and the kitchen had everything. We were a family of 5 and booked one of the biggest units. The view in the photos wasn't from the place we stayed at. There were places that had that view on the
property and we booked for that view. However ours had no view as it was blocked by trees, which was misleading abit.
- Rowena (9/5): Superb - Big house and pool table were a hit, plus the friendly parrots. We were prepared to cook as it's 30 mins away from town but needs better pots pans . Electric fry pan by got us out of trouble
- Renatawade (8/5): A great way to get away from it all. - The hosts were very nice and communicated very well so we had no problems finding the place or getting in. The house is very comfortable and is located in a really beautiful setting with plenty of wildlife around. Dungog is about 20 minutes away and is a gorgeous little town with plenty of cute little shops. Guests should be aware that there is very limited phone and internet access and you need to make sure you stock up on supplies before you come.
- Rod (3/5): Very disappointing and definitely not worth the money - The description is false, the property is not stunning, it is neglected and in a dilapidated condition. The kitchen in particular was very dirty and moldy and the whole house needs a deep clean. There were unusable cooking pans, the BBQ didn't work, the main door fly screen has been kicked in, the entrance ramp is rotted and dangerous.
- Hughes (8/5): Very good -
- Swapnil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohammad (8/5): Very good -
- Bas (7/5): We had a great stay - Location was great, lots of space Kitchen equipment (pots & pans) was a bit worn out
- Faithfull (9/5): Beautiful hideaway. - Long rough driveway but worth it when arrived. Driveway smoother and wifi /phone reception could be better.
- Kristen (8/5): Huge, beautiful and comfortable house with ample space, close to pool. Just needs a little maintenance. - Such a large space. Bedrooms and bathrooms were huge with comfy beds. Loved being so close to the pool and tennis courts. There was ample linen, plates and glasses. It was a great facility for families, and we loved the pool table. Being told the nearest supermarket was 20 mins away, I brought all food for our stay intending to use the supplied BBQ. Unfortunately the BBQ didn’t work (we spent ages!) and although there is a huge and amazing gas oven, there wasn’t really the fry pans needed to have a plan B so I took most of the bbq meat home and drove to the supermarket to rethink dinners. I wouldn’t have minded except I had planned around the listed bbq facilities. (There’s a bbq by the pool but being 42 degrees, the poolside bbq was in high demand!)
Place just needs a little maintenance (eg, shower head in shower, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner). It was very clean but just needs a touch of TLC.
- Hernan (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing stay. - The location is beautiful with plenty of stuff to discover around just a short drive away. The pool table , tennis court and pool are also a great way to enjoy the stay. the kitchen is huge and the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. The balcony has gorgeous views! You will have visitors every morning like birds, wallabies and kangaroos. Was a very quiet retreat and definitely an amazing stay! The property was clean but definitely needs a “deeper clean “ many spider webs behind the furniture, on lamps and dust under the beds. The outdoor bbq doesn’t work. You are not allowed to watch any videos/ movies using their wifi.
- Mohammed (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (8/5): Delightful cottage in the bush close to wildlife with shared pool and tennis courts - Tastefully decorated house with good beds and quality linen. Wide verandah and spacious living areas, multiple bathrooms. The BBQ needs attention ; only 2 out of " plates functioned.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Mini (9/5): Had a nice relaxing time in the wilderness and had company of the local animals and birds -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): We had an enjoyable week at Blokhus with the peacefulness of the surroundings and the wildlife. - We enjoyed roominess of the house and the privacy. The dirt road to the property. It would probably be best to mention that a 4WD is the best vehicle for that road. Regular cars are just too low and bottom out.
Also the internet reception and TV reception(for free to air TV) was very poor.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - EVERYTHING!! it was so beautiful and peaceful! The kids hand fed the gorgeous parrots and a kookaburra - we will definitely be back again, thank you 😀
- Chiew (8/5): Very good -
