- Shoned (10/5): A beautiful place for a quiet weekend away, it was just what we needed - Secluded, peaceful, serine. Lovely for a weekend away

- Despina (10/5): This is a beautiful property surrounded in nature. - Loved seeing the kangaroos when we arrived and love how the house is decorated and surrounded in nature. The internet reception isn’t great. My phone has been in SOS mode the whole time.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Relaxing retreat like space perfect for contemplatation and close proximity for exploratory forays - We LOVED the artsy, handmade and quirky touches of this location. The natural environment, unique building, thoughtful appointments to each room space, the picture window and bespoke ceramics. It was quiet and secluded but 10mins drive from all the local delights. Little nooks with the right amount of ambient sunlight to curl up with a book or contemplate the world. The water was piping hot for the spa and twin shower, but we were mindful it is only tank water, for conservation. There were lovely pieces of art hidden around the place, and the appointments were comfortable and well thought out. Plentiful heating options and bedding for those cold evenings and mornings. We wish we had longer here to properly breathe and relax. We had a few glitches with electricity safety for half the house being thrown multiple times by the coffee machine ( but figured it out by deduction!) , with no back up French press ( for those coffee addicts who can’t wait to drive to town 😉). While kitchen and bathrooms and house were nicely clean, the natural construction of the house left one of our more hayfever prone attendees with a dust induced snuffle. The wood fire is ambient but requires some flew maintenance to remove debris so did cause a lot of smoke. With one shared toilet/ bathroom, and glass or perforated bedroom doors it could become awkward for unrelated or large non- bohemian :) parties, but we were two relatives so it was fine from privacy view. There is a wonderful outdoor table but no easy access to chairs without carrying them around from other areas. Also this is not an accessible property for those with unsure footing or mobility issues.
- Rebecca (10/5): Beautiful villa in nature - If you love wildlife, La Boheme is for you! Beautiful villa in quiet location with plenty of kangaroos and birds to spot. Well equipped with comfy beds and sofas. Nothing, everything was great 😊
Just to be mindful, the driveway is gravel and a bit bumpy so you may need to take a bit of extra care when driving on it in winter or if it's raining heavily.

- Matthew (10/5): Excellent stay would definitely stay there again 8 mins from Daylesford town - Great set up, clean, quiet location owners where easy to deal with just great overall Nothing to complain about

Fantastic location with great views
Very relaxing vibe
Wildlife at your door
- Natasha (7/5): - It was a very peaceful weekend. Perfect for a weekend away for my husband and myself to recharge. There wasn't enough fire wood for a three night stay. We had to buy some.
- Amarlee (8/5): Wake up to kookaburras and kangaroos while enjoying a warm cosy fire. - The cottage was exactly as pictured. Very rustic, picture perfect. The big windows framed the landscape (complete with kangaroos) perfectly. Facilities - had everything we needed for warmth, cooking (if we'd wanted to), internet and netflix. The beds were very comfortable and warmer than I expected. Excellent water pressure and the owners were very thoughtful to put a heater in the bathroom to take a chill off the slate floor. We woke up to the sound of kookaburras - a nice place to chill out and forget work for a couple of days. I didn't like having to park my car and walk down a sloped, stony path to the front door. I use a walking stick and it was difficult to navigate, especially at night as there were no lights. (We used the torch from a mobile phone) It rained on the day we checked out, I was lucky that my friend ran up all our bags to the car. Anyone with mobility issues might struggle. Also the driveway to the cottage from the road could challenge more inexperienced drivers with small cars especially in the dark or heavy rain. Having said all this - I didn't ask the question ahead of time about the distance between parking and the front door - so that's all on me. But I will definitely ask next time.
- Gaurav Rao (4/5): Very disappointing as it was not up to the mark and there was no one to assist us - We went back to this property as we really liked the location and facilities of this place as it suits our young family needs as well but this time our overall experience was not good and very disappointing. When we reached the property there was not any proper communication on what key to use and where to find, we had to run to the neighbors get their wifi access so that we could reach the team and message them as there was no network. Even after that we never found the other key until our whole stay.
After that we could not find the AC remote and had a chat with EVA owners daughter as owners were out of country and she tried to reach to cleaners to locate the remote but we never found it and we could never used it.
After a day we when we were doing BBQ suddenly gas was over and we then had to throw the uncooked food and arrange some take aways which all caused a lot of hassle and additional expenses. We spoke to owner and they confirmed that they missed to check the gas cylinder and they are happy to refund but it was already late and with young kids we could not go out to arrange for this.
Please look into this matter seriously and help us in getting some refunds as this has caused a lot of stress during our stay.

- Jens (7/5): We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, we liked the isolation and the wild life. - Siding outside the views were fantastic, lot of wild life. No other houses to close so very private. There were lights outside showing of the beautiful old gumtrees when siding outside in the evening. The cottage was clean but it needs a good overall clean hence dust and cobwebs in areas. Outside the table and umbrella need a good clean and a coat of oil or paint. Some of the instructions in the welcome book were not to clear hence the lighting up of the fire place a picture or two showing how to use and locate the vents would of helped.

- Leah (10/5): It was the perfect mid week retreat for me and my friend. It had everything we needed for a cosy and relaxing getaway. - Cosy, surrounded by nature, private and perfect for a relaxing getaway.
- Glyn R (10/5): - Absolutely stunning accommodation set in an idyllic, peaceful location, with all the amenities one could ever wish for! Even though the allure of all the Daylesford attractions is only a 5 minute drive away, we found ourselves drawn back to the villa each afternoon to simply enjoy relaxing on the very comfortable armchairs watching the antics of the wallabies and birds as evening settled in...just magical 😀 We stayed for 3 nights but would happily have stayed a week...and fully intend to return at some time in the future to do just that! - Meagan (10/5): Romantic getaway - This was the most beautiful property. Isolated from the rat race, cosy and romantic and something you would see in a children’s fairytale. Nothing
- Bailey (10/5): -
- Lou (10/5): -

- Angela (10/5): Reconnect with yourself and have the sounds and sights of nature surround you. - The seclusion and connection with nature was wonderful. - John (10/5): Exceptional - Overall it was magnificent, spacious, clean with great views. Loved the fireplace Cobwebs on the ceiling
- Joanne (10/5): Amazing and cozy - The place was clean, tidy and welcoming. Good amount of options for pots/pans. The bed was really comfy.
When i had a slight issue the property manager/own came over at a time that suited me to help.
The fire place was set ready for me to light and I stayed snuggled in the comfy chairs or on the large couch by the fire readying for most of my stay
- Zygmunt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (10/5): Beautiful, cozy house with a stunning view. Seeing kangaroos right outside was a highlight! - The view was stunning and the property, and its history, was really interesting. Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Having the local wildlife and nature setting was very grounding
- Stuart (8/5): Thoroughly recommend this property as it oozes character and provides a very relaxing environment. - Location was absolutely awesome as it was not too far out of town but it was secluded. There are neighbours close by but not too close to be able to see or hear them so perfect really. The Roos in the mornings out the back are a real treat to watch especially the mum’s and joey’s. A real peaceful retreat to get away from the usual chaos of life. All facilities were great too as the villa has all you need. The ceramics around the place made by host Minna, including the mugs, plates, bowls, pot plants etc. are all awesome. Peter the host is very helpful, just give him a buzz and he will sort out whatever for you. A great stay overall. The gravel path down to the villa from the car park is a little steep and unsure under foot. I would imagine it would be a bit tricky when it has rained and gravel is wet. Probably something the hosts need to consider addressing going forward as it would be a considerable safety improvement for guests. In saying that it is the only thing not to like about the villa that is for sure.
- Vanessa (10/5): Fabulous romantic getaway! Couldn't ask for a more quiet, relaxed, & scenic place to spend the weeke -

- Renee (10/5): A slice of heaven - Everything was absolutely perfect.
Location, serenity.
Wildlife. Cozy woodfire.
Comfortable bed and lounge.
There are plenty of blankets and throw rugs too for the lounge. I couldn't fault anything
- Jonathan (9/5): Great stay - Secluded, wild life and spa tube Nothing
- Petrina (10/5): Perfect - Cosy Nil
- Mr (10/5): Exceptional - Great amenities and facilities in a glorious location.
- Harris (10/5): Exceptional - The villa is just so cosy and knowing the story and the way it has been hand made is just amazing such a beautiful place we will be coming back for sure
- Amanda (10/5): Although it was raining and freezing outside, the comfort and bliss inside was beautiful. La Bohemme is a uch a stunning - The location, the views, the history and making of it, the comfort, the decor… everything was perfect! Leaving!
- Shannon (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway - La Boheme was clean and cosy. When we arrived the fire was already set for us by Peter. It was private and warm in the Villa. The swivel chairs in front of the big window and fire were the star of the weekend for us. We watched about 30 kangaroos one afternoon just outside the villa. Nothing bad to report
- Rowan (10/5): Beauty and the Bush - The location and views were gorgeous.
Accommodation itself was beautifully appointed with a loving touch.
Rustic but with all the modern conveniences you expect.
Short walk or drive to all the sights on offer in the area.
Loved it so much we forgot to take any photos. We loved it all. Couldn't be faulted
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Polson (9/5): Warm, cosy, clean, perfect country escape! - Really beautiful house. The spa, fireplace and the overall contents were lovely and cosy. Perfect for a winter escape. The only thing we felt missing was a few more utensils and cooking equipment.
- Amanda (10/5): Perfect stay! - Gorgeous view, loads of wallabys on the lawn, great fireplace, plenty to watch on tv (movies, streaming etc), very near downtown Daylesford, plenty of blankets, great spa tub! No complaints! Everything was amazing.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location backing onto a national park. Very cute and cosey house, loved the wood fire place. Plenty of blankets and great heating for winter. Great for a relaxing weekend away.
- Robert (9/5): Great quiet location, comfortable and clean and awesome value for money. - Great location. Nice and secluded but still close enough. Comfortable and cosy. I have a serious problem with getting coffee machines to work properly. I couldn’t get the steam to work. Instructions were not in the draw. Not really a big problem. The hot chocolate drinks more that compensated for this.
- Ruby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Libby (10/5): Perfect - Amazing views - comfortable and clean. Secluded and peaceful.
- Perrie (10/5): Such a beautiful place with lovely hosts. We will be back. -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Perfect weekender - It would be impossible not to relax in this gorgeous home surrounded by bush. Total silence day and night.
The home is clean and comfortable and perhaps due to materials used to build it, it instantly feels grounding.
Plenty of good restaurants in the area so no need to cook.
Perfect weekend
Thank you

- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (9/5): Relaxing getaway for the family in a beautiful location - Lovely location, beautiful views, all the necessities taken care of and available.
- Jacqui (9/5): A relaxing and enjoyable stay in a beautiful and unique property. - The location, the kangaroos, the birds, the solitude, the fact that it was all hand made from resources from the property, the wifi, and the exceptionally fast response on Christmas Day when a storm caused an issue. The uniqueness of the property, it was all excellent. The lighting.
- Jodi (9/5): Superb - The location was so peaceful. We were met by over 20 kangaroos in the gardens which was beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay it was very relaxing and Cabin was great everything you need. Nothing
- Amy (10/5): Beautiful location! Very relaxing stay -
- Julie (9/5): Paradise - The scenary, daily visits from the kangaroos, natural design of the house and the spa! We couldn't get the fire place lit after lighting the first time, though a lot of that was probably lack of skill- a bit more detailed instructions would help.
- Prachi (10/5): Highly recommend this place!! - We loved our stay at this villa. We have a family of four 2 adults and 2 young kids. Kids absolutely enjoyed it by spending their time in nature and admiring kangaroos which were near our stay. It is very spacious and we had enough beds for everyone.
Rooms were clean and equipped with everything you need.
Kitchen was lovely and had all the amenities.
Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
Highly recommend this place!!
- Hazel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (10/5): It’s a touch of paradise! - Wow! What’s not to love. It’s secluded, there are kangaroos everywhere, birds too, and the views are gorgeous. The beds are firm and really comfortable, the couches are comfortable, especially the round ones by the windows, the kitchen has everything you need, the bathroom has an excellent hot tub and double showers, the water is hot and the place just had a lovely ambience. We are return guests, it’s so good. The only thing I would suggest is to have one brighter light in the bathroom (our eyes have got worse as we’ve got older!).
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ray (10/5): Exceptional - Loved reading about the history and the build.
Unique construction with a great layout and use of space.
Very thoughtful inclusions i.e., coffee machine and great crockery. All needs and wants were available great hosts and amazing property. Nothing of note.
- Deborah (9/5): We had a peaceful weekend away for my husbands bday, it was perfect. - We love staying at La Boheme, it is always so peaceful and love seeing the kangaroos. We even got into the board games with the kids. It would be nice to have some paper towel for cleaning hands with and maybe an extra tea towel.
But that is little things, there’s nothing we dislike about the property.
- Janaya (10/5): I will definitely be coming back to stay here again - Loved the whole hand made house, the location, it was a perfect getaway. Peter even had the fire going for us on arrival. The kangaroos and joeys were out in the morning it was beautiful. Nothing
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harbir (9/5): My overall stay was amazing, this was my second time the staff is very friendly and welcoming - The property is amazing very nice view as well I feel like the property will be more comfortable if the bathroom gets renovated nicely.
- Jo (10/5): Perfect getaway - Nestled in nature and warmed by the fire. The villa is both rustic and luxurious.
- Rachelle (10/5): Amazing loved the secludedness, connecting with nature, family time best retreat for sure - Loved how beautiful and big the home is. With our family of four was it felt so big. Loved the fire place and never-ending firewood. Best part for my family was to bang out respectfully with kangaroos and wake up to them in the yard. Cant wait to return for the nest adventure
- Danni (9/5): Peaceful, relaxing, rejuvenating and fun. - The location was beautiful. Very very peaceful. I loved everything !!
- Maria (9/5): Very comfortable and happy. - I can feel that the owners make a great effort to make it comfortable for the holiday makers. And I love the books in my bedroom and the decorations in the villa, I guess the owners are not only artistic but also philosophical. I am not sure what the image above the toilet is about, however if you can put it outside in a clean area, it will be perfect.
The image on the front door is absolutely beautiful.
- Marian (9/5): magical place - the space and wildlife 3 week stay, clean towels after 1week but no clean sheets
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Namrata (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr (10/5): lovely clean villa, off the grid, good space, well resourced, communicative owners - it’s a beautiful secluded property, lovely decor and the kangaroos outside were very popular with the kids! close to Daylesford for supplies while still feeling remote.
