Guest Reviews
- BBYY (9/5): - ビーチが目の前、家も清潔でキッチンも広く、とてもくつろげました。 自転車のタイヤが空気が抜けてて使えなかったことだけが残念でした。
- David (9/5): Would stay there again - Plenty of space, edrooms, bathroom good. Front porch light out otherwise not much else
- annette (10/5): Lovely place, even saw the koala in the tree - Very comfortable Could have more hand towels - eg kitchen /laundry
- Julie (10/5): -
- steven (3/5): We were there for 2 days and got a call that a close family member had passed away, we had to leave a week early, I sent - Location Needs more air conditioning, and new mattress
- Susan (9/5): This was a great place and it would be ideal for a family for a vacation. Beautiful garden and location. It was relaxing - The proximity to the beach and the sleeping accommodations. The house has a well equipped kitchen and a large porch to chill on. One master bathroom off the master bedroom….a very small toilet for the rest of the house. No big deal, but kind of rinky dink.
- Dave (8/5): -
- Doris (7/5): - Das es eine Waschmaschine/Tumbler hatte. Viel Platz. Ist in die Jahre gekommen. Beachfront, ja vorne aber zum Beach durch Gestrüpp.
- Robin (7/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Centrally located bayside retreat - Central location for exploring Kangaroo Island as well as view of the bay. All the facilities for an indpendent traveller. Nothing.
- Karen (9/5): - It was quiet, and relaxing. The house was very welcoming and comfortable.
- Ken (9/5): Comfy Cottage - Comfortable house, well located with easy walk into Kingscote, across path to beach & central for drives to tourist attractions. Good facilities (kitchen & laundry appliances). In warmer weather has great outside deck with seating, bbq, and a big screen TV. Owner very helpful
- Fitch (7/5): Good -
- Doug (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzie141 (9/5): Superb - Large spacious house with plenty of room in great location. Enjoyed the resident kaola. Large back area ideal for family groups. Lots of extras included. The only thing was the light bulbs were very dull and I needed a lamp to read.
- Peter (8/5): The property is old but well located and very comfortable. -
- Lyn (6/5): Beach shack close to the beach and fenced for our dog - The location and bed was good and the verandah out the back was nice.
The couch outside was very dirty and the cooking trays not clean. dust on bottom of some furniture
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and well equipped. Great position for walks along beach. Bird life was wonderful and an added bonus of koalas in tree adjoining property. All was very good.
- George (8/5): Very good - Everything
- Jonathan (9/5): Great home base after doing the tourist things - Nice home and location Nil
- Pane (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (10/5): The perfect location for us to explore KI and convenient to Kingscote township - This home is very clean and tidy with amenities provided. It is situated on the beachfront, and is quiet, private, and with native wildlife just at the doorstep.
Very convenient location to Kingscote township, KI attractions and lovely beaches. Although the property itself is beach front with beach views, Brownlow beach is quite swampy/seaweedy so not great for swimming. you have to travel a little bit to find a good swimming beach, luckily KI has plenty of great swimming beaches.
- Marta (9/5): Superb -
- Ai (8/5): beautiful, peaceful, comfortable - Peace and tranquillity. Great location. Beautiful home, well equipped. Dirty cupboards
- Adalin (8/5): Very good - Location and cleanliness were excellent. The house was self sufficient with appliances. All good
- Anni (9/5): Relaxing and interesting. - The location was great - central to a lot of the places we visited. Facilities in the house were excellent - a lot of thought had been given to comfort of guests and possible activities they may enjoy. The drain in the main bathroom appeared blocked and this affected the draining of the sink and toilet. It also resulted in an unpleasant odor at times.
- Tamanna (6/5): Average experience - The location of the property was nice and the property was pretty clean. The house was not well set up for guests. Dining chairs were put up on top of the dining table.
Simple but essential inclusions such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cooking oil, paper towel were missing.
- Roland (9/5): Great stay on KI ! - Amazing location and a great spot to relax after a day's exploration on the island. Fire place was magical during the cooler nights !
- Baker (8/5): A nice house in a great location, we enjoyed the nearby beach and dog walk. - Great location, a few minutes to the beach. Didn't take long to get to Island attractions. We were able to bring our dogs with us as it is a pet friendly accommodation. The bed was very comfortable. The place felt a bit 'tired' as a few things could have been improved such as the pantry door. The lounge smelled of stale smoke as the combustion heater grate had not been cleaned out.
- Jean (9/5): Really nice, easy house to stay in with all amenities covered. Lovely and quiet with lots to do or do nothing at all. We - Lovely comfortable cottage. Fantastic fire for the chilly June evenings with plenty of firewood already chopped.
- Emily (9/5): Warm, cosy and peaceful. Communication with the owner was impeccable. - Property had a beautiful wood fireand close to the beach. Would be extra be lovely in the summer. It was further out than we expected but we should have researched more.
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect little house with everything we needed. - Quiet location. Close to the beach. Walking distance to the town. Loved the character of the art work on the walls. Huge collection of books to read by the fire at night.
- Robert (6/5): Ok - Plenty of room Front sliding door did not lock from outside bbq burners under hot plate would not ignite, cupboards need a good clean, garden needs attention and some cookware needs attention. A key to front door would be beneficial
- Carmel (9/5): Lovely comfortable house, with everything we needed for a great time on Kangaroo Island. - Very comfortable house. Well appointed, with everything we needed for our stay. The back deck was amazing, practically an extra room. Wi-fi was reliable, and several pay TV sites were available on the television. Undercover parking. Located opposite the beach, with great walks close by.
Christine was particularly helpful when our departure was threatened by a possible ferry strike. Small detail, but the key lock was a bit unreliable. We thought we might be locked out a couple of times. However, it worked eventually each time.
- Julie (9/5): Ideal - A quiet location but only a few minutes drive into Kingscote but we found easy travelling to other areas of the island. We found the spacious property clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed which was lovely. We enjoyed the local bird life and even saw a koala! Good communication with the owner. We would definitely recommend and stay again on a KI visit. Nothing
- Michael (9/5): A wonderful place to stay on a beautiful island. - The house was really well equipped. It had everything you needed. A home away from home. Very quiet, lots of bird life, path across to the beach. A resident koala in the front yard. Wonderful spot. We would have like a top sheet instead of a doona.
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
- Crapper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joolz (8/5): Comfortable property, convenient location, but, disappointingly, far from beach, no dogs inside. - It was one of the best equipped properties we have stayed at and was spacious and roomy. The location was convenient to Kingscote and KI attractions. There was a huge back patio, and as the weather was not good, we appreciated the supply of firewood for the lounge..
Initial communication was very good and helpful, although after our stay it did take quite a while to get our pet bond refunded. It was advertised as 'tranquil beachfront', so we had envisioned lazy days on the veranda looking at the sea. However, the beach is some 200 metres (app) away, with a stretch of scrub running between the beach and The Parade, so the sea is only a small glimpse between trees.
We had booked it because it said 'pets allowed' and paid a bond to cover that, but when we arrived there was a sign on the back door saying dogs not allowed inside. As we have an old, well behaved dog we were disappointed she could not come inside as she does usually, and had we known, we would definitely not have booked it.
Also, the kitchen could have been cleaner, the bench top was not clean and there was an open pan full of old, dirty grease in the pantry.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Ambience, location No clothes horse
- Elisabetta (9/5): Kangaroo Island staycation. - Spaciousness, comfort, and facilities.
Loved the personnel touches. Lounge was a bit low.
Sqeaky bed.
- Pia (9/5): Superb -
- Jon (9/5): Superb -
- Adrian (7/5): Great location and protentail is massive ,, we had a good time and better than a motel but a few things let it down. - Location Grubby and couches chairs and one bed was way too soft. Couldn’t get out .. turn on ceiling fan and mouse poo came out all over out food ..
- Paula (9/5): Large, comfy, clean house with plenty of room outside and across from the beach. - Two toilets! Very clean, large house and garden and wildlife (small birds) and proximity to the beach.
- Frances (8/5): Comfortable holiday house close to beach. - Well appointed house in a quiet, scenic location. Comfortable bed. Lovely outdoor areas front and back which we weren't able to use much unfortunately owing to the weather. A short walk to the beach. Lots of books and games, excellent WiFi. Lounge chairs were very comfortable but a bit low for anyone with mobility issues.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Couzner (10/5): Exceptional - Beach the lounge room fire daughter loved the back yard 😍 I can't say a bad thing please the location all beautiful
- Gillian (8/5): Peaceful short break with plenty to see around KI - Very clean and comfortable, nice atmosphere, quiet location. See above
- Anna (8/5): Very tranquil stay at Leeward. and there was plenty of room outside for our dog. - Great location, good facilities. The only thing I didn't like was that the cleaning products used in the living areas left a very strong smell that was somewhat overwhelming for the entire stay.
- Keith (8/5): A wonderful place to base a holiday on Kangaroo Island. - Charming beach house in an excellent location. Internal heating could be improved.
- David (7/5): Enjoyable, good value but let down by the lounge and bed comfort. - The location was great, close enough to Kingscote for meals and other supplies. A very quiet spot on a no thru road almost adjacent to the waterfront. The rear deck area is well appointed and the front porch has great views for relaxing. The house had all of the things we needed in it. The QS bed and lounge chairs were very low (off the floor) making them very difficult to get out of and the chairs cushions have collapsed somewhat. Both of these aspects detracted from the comfort and have both been noted in the visitor's book by previous guests.
- Aparna (9/5): Superb - Clean property
- Min (8/5): Very good - a little bit cold during winter, but it is good enough to live in
- Vicky (8/5): A great stay. The hosts were wonderful and extended our stay with short notice - The property's location. Glimpses of water and walking distance to beach The weather was bad, but property made it feel better
- Hendrik (8/5): Very good -
- Nardine (7/5): Good - The location was quiet and private. There was an issue with the plumbing. Toilets backing up.
- Chand (7/5): Good stay - Lovely, peaceful location. Pleasant beach nearby. Great patio in back yard. Bedrooms and kitchen can be a bit cool without the fireplace going as air conditioner only in lounge room. Shower head in bathroom had a leak so did not work as well but we managed.
- Lynette (9/5): A memorable time spent at Leeward..Fabulous - A quiet location , beautiful beachfont / walking trail easily accessible, very comfortable well maintained house and garden. Not really an issue but we could'nt find a dustpan and brush.
- Craig (7/5): Nice house in lovely quiet location. - Quiet peaceful location. Combustion heater in lounge is great. The property needs some work and TLC to address a reasonable number of maintenance issues at the property - lighting, shower, door latches, lounge.
- Larry (6/5): Enjoyed the island and its beautiful attractions. Kingscote is a great tourist destination. - The location is only about 2 klm's out of the main town of Kingscote and was very quiet. The house itself was well appointed and the bathroom looks to have been recently renovated. The rear deck was enormous and well equiped. The home is in need of some maintenance and little things that should have been fixed are - Only one light worked in the loungeroom, the bedside lamp did not work in bedroom #1, the door was rubbing on the floor in bedroom #1, the vertical blinds were broken in one of the bedrooms and the loungeroom, the keysafe was defective, the side sliding door was self locking when you closed the door and guests could be locked out, the garden beds - front and rear were covered in weeds and finally we thought electric blankets would be appreciated considering how cold it can get in the winter (or autumn when we stayed) Location wise - it is close to the water however we don't consider a 12 foot strip of sand covered in dead weeds can be called a beach. Certainly not a swimming location at all.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (10/5): The best place to stay on Kangaroo Island! - property is perfectly located close to Kingscote and many of the natural attractions that Kangaroo Island has to offer. It is well equipped and very comfortable with a superb outdoor entertaining area. Includes a lounge and TV! This is a great property to stay yet just as a couple or with friends. nothing!
- Brenda (9/5): a great kangaroo Island experience. - a great location. so peaceful and enjoyed gardens. everything we needed for our stay. even a koala in a tree in front garden. n/a
- Christine (10/5): great place to stay despite the neg comments. very good value for money and very peaceful. Absolutely loved the outdoor - lovely location. well equipped and comfortable. a very nice place to stay. Fabulous outdoor area. Bed linen and equipment were spotless. However needed a good dust e.g bathroom ledges around the tiles and skirting boards were thick with dust, bedroom furniture with ledges and skirting boards also thick with dust. Bbq needed cleaning. We saw mice inside. Needs some mouse bait.
- Joanne (7/5): Good - Location The plumbing needs attention
- Abbey (8/5): Beautiful clean house, excellent location. - Beautiful clean house with everything you need. Some major drainage issues going on. Handbasin bubbled up when flushing toilet, toilet gurgled all night and sink took hours to drain.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Great place to stay. Short distance from Kingscote. - Location was good. It really was a “tranquil” location. The facilities exceeded our expectations. It would be a lovely place for a family holiday. There was nothing we didn’t like. Wish we could have stayed longer.
- Frances (10/5): Great home from home - Home from home feeling.
- John (8/5): perfect for 3 days - cleanliness kitchen cabinet needs repair
landscape needs care
- Melissa (8/5): Very good -
- Clark (9/5): Superb - Everything from the size of the property to the location. Nothing at all.
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Property is in a great location. Centrally located to the whole island. Just a five minute drive to the centre of Kingscote. The wood fire was great on the colder nights warmed up the whole house.
- Jackson (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Kyle (8/5): Quite town and nice place to stay close to all the good places - Softer beds
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional - Relaxed comfortable space, all the comforts of home. Walk across the road to the beach short drive into Kingscote. Plenty of books and games about, all cooking and cleaning items at hand. Only thing to mind the shower head needs replacing or CLR to unblock the holes.
- Charlotte (9/5): Loved the island and Leeward. - Fantastic location opportune beach, very comfy older style home, well equipped with large covered outdoor space. So peaceful. About 30 minutes walk into town. Thank you. A casserole dish would be useful !
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rick (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): Fantastic Holiday location. Just like home. - the property was clean comfortable and fantastic for my family. Nothing. Great location, value and facilities.
- Philip (7/5): We enjoyed KI as a whole, glad to support locals instead of our usual international travel - Location was great Didn't like the cook top or the oven and some of the cookware is diffidently showing its age
- Jp (8/5): Have experienced a week on KI now and really enjoyed our visit. Lots to see and do but requires a fair bit of driving be - Quiet out of the way, beach 50 metres away. Plenty of room and facilities. Loved the fact we could light a fire. Yard was lovely, birds, flowers and a vegetable patch down the back beside the wood shed. Had the use of 2 bikes if we liked. only small thing, it needs a better shower rose. Some would prefer a dishwasher but it was not a thing for us.
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - Right on the beach as promised with a fantastic back deck that lights up at sunset We usually stay at newer places but this was a great cottage with lots of nice touches
- Greg (8/5): excellent time on KI, and Leeward was well set up. - proximity to attractions and services
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
