- Lisa (10/5): Magical place in the forest. - The location was beautiful with an extraordinary view and complete privacy. The house was immaculate and full of creature comforts. Everything was catered for plus the extra touch of a bottle of bubbly in the fridge was generous. The spa bath was fabulous with its outlook to the trees. I can't fault the place.
- Phillip (10/5): Fab, we highly recommend. - It was quiet, convenient and had everything we needed for a quiet retreat. The hosts provided some bubbles and nibbles on arrival, along with OJ (which I had forgot) for breakfast. We don’t want to leave.
- Jessica (8/5): -
- Jane (9/5): secluded location for romantic weekend, with Hepburn Springs within a twenty minute stroll. - excellent location, very secluded but within easy walking distance of Hepburn Springs.
the house was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed for the two nights (including washing machine which meant I didn't return home with a bag of dirty laundry - that was a bonus)
we went out to eat however the house was self-contained so would have been easy to make meals (has a BBQ as well as indoor kitchenette)
- Charlotte (9/5): Very peaceful, comfortable stay , in a very cute cottage - Very cute comfortable cottage A bit far out of town to walk
- Maya (10/5): Owners thought of everything. Nice and accommodating. - Beautiful set up and location. Peaceful and quiet. Nothing.

- Vincent (10/5): Lovely 3 days, we were both after a relaxing time as we both work in stressful jobs.It Was exactly w - We loved the privacy, it felt like we were in a tree house overlooking bushland even though we were a few minutes from.the heart of Daylesford. We can't think of anything that we didn't like.
- Brendan (10/5): -
- Furlong (9/5): -
- Tania (10/5): - Relaxing atmosphere
- Keshlin Vyas (9/5): Great winter spot 👌🏾 - Very cosy cottage. Definitely a great spot for winter especially with the fireplace and electric blanket. Great location and had everything we needed.
So glad I found this place, Will definitely book again! Blinds just needed a quick wipe down
- Glenda (8/5): - The facilities It wasn't a dislike, just a comment.
Because it was very cold in the area, the towels in the bathroom were damp.
Maybe should be kept in the other room so they don't get so damp
- Christopher (10/5): Private but only a minute into the centre of Hepburn Springs and a very short drive into Daylesford - Charming, peaceful and well equipped. Liked it all.
- Chris (10/5): A well priced, lovely, secluded cabin in Hepburn - We love the private location and beautiful scenery and have been returning guests for some time now. The facilities are good, the cabin is comfortable, and it's conveniently close to town. If you're after a well priced, secluded cabin in Hepburn, Tarilta might be just right for you. Nothing really. Although, if your stay is longer than two nights, extra firewood supplied by the hosts would be a nice addition.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margreat (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Couldn't be happier. What a wonderful place! -
- David (10/5): Perfect Retrest for Luxurious comfort in a tranquil location - So well appointed with comfort and luxury in an idyllic rural setting. Andrew & Anthony attending to all the needs of our international guests- who were staying as part of our Wedding party in this amazing venue.
So serene and peaceful with 5-Star inclusions throughout.
This retreat is incredible value for what they offer as a package. Nothing to report - everything exceeded expectations
- Suzanne (10/5): Well appointed and extremely comfortable. Fabulous deck overlooking the forest -
- Bryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): A great relaxing time. - Nice self contained cottage, very quiet and peaceful location.
- Aman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Our go to, favourite destination - We have been returning to Hepburn Springs and Daylesford for years. Tarilta Cottage is our go to, favourite destination. Great location, amenities and value for money. Nothing
- Burrows (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage is in such a fabulous location. You can sit out on the deck and hear nothing but the sounds of the bush, but you're only a short, scenic walk across to the shops and cafes. The house itself has everything you need and is super comfortable. There are windows on all sides, and it's a very restorative ambience. Plus, the owners are incredibly generous, easy to communicate with, and friendly. Nothing!
- Daniel (9/5): wonderfully relaxing - great location and place had all that was needed. for older people like us a walk-in shower would have been preferable to the step in arrangement
- Nikota (10/5): Dream getaway. I can’t wait to come back!!! - Oh my goodness, where to begin?! My mum and I have never felt so at home at a holiday accommodation as we did here. From the moment we drove up to the property and stepped out, it was bliss. The white cockatoos greeted us immediately and we were overcome with awe for the grandeur of the view from the verandah.
The cottage was perfect in absolutely every way. The amenities were perfect, the decoration gorgeous, everything was spotlessly clean. The CD’s were fun. The TV endlessly entertaining (so many channels!! Hahah) We couldn’t find a single thing we didn’t like about it.
We had so much fun there, felt so relaxed and at home.
We will never forget our stay at Tarilta and cannot wait to return AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, to one of Anthony and Andrew’s other (gorgeous, I’m sure) cottages.
Thank you endlessly. You made my mum’s birthday/ our trip to Hepburn the highlight of our year. Absolutely nothing. It was perfection in every sense of the word.
- Kamran (9/5): Superb -
- Isuri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqui (9/5): Lovely quiet location for us to relax for the night, everything was perfect! - N/A
- Burrows (10/5): Perfect little getaway - A very comfortable cottage for one or two. I loved the spa, and all the windows meant that I could enjoy the bush from inside because it was chilly. Having streaming provided is very generous. I didn't want to leave. Nothing really, it was wonderful. Perhaps a little more kindling to re-start the fire when it went out. But really it was great.
- Wong (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (10/5): Amazing hospitality from staff, beautiful location. Clean and well decorated! Board games provided made for a lovely sta - Beautiful secluded property!
- Andrew (10/5): Awesome little fire place, perfect size BBQ and lovely spa bath. - What a hidden gem, cozy and everything one would need for a relaxing stress free weekend. Nothing negative to say about this place, we will
Be back
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Perfect for solo/couple traveling. Easy walk into town for a coffee. Private location.
- Bo-tahlia (10/5): Highly recommend - Great cottage that felt very private but in an excellent location Nothing, amazing experience
- Jan (7/5): Overall I enjoyed my stay and at a very reasonable price - No breakfast was provided which was not expected anyway so all good there, kitchen facilities were very good, the cottage was cute and the lounge was very welcoming, bed comfortable. Nice verandah. Ran out of hot water and the tv reception was poor, however there was STAN and 7+ so not a big problem for me, notified the owners and they are going to sort these issues out for future guests. Needed a new hot water service which they were going to replace after my stay and organising the tv reception to be fixed after my stay also..
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - The tranquillity and privacy of this cottage is wonderful. It's lovely to sit with coffee or wine on the verandah overlooking the tree-filled gully and watching the nearby birds and kangaroos. It's also very cosy inside with the wood heater burning on a chilly night. It has all the amenities for a peaceful and refreshing stay. I had to leave at the end of the week!
- Marisa (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): A wonderful stay! - This was such a peaceful spot but still close enough to all the many things Daylesford and Hepburn Springs have to offer - the best of both worlds! Tarilta had everything we needed and was super comfortable, we loved having the fireplace.
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Champi (9/5): Cute and tidy cottage among the trees. - Very comfortable, cosy and clean cottage. Away from the road, overlooking the trees.
The sights, the sounds were all relaxing.
Very tidy and well equipped kitchen.
Perfect to get away from the rat race and recharge.
Fantastic shower and the pillows provided were two firm and two soft. Just perfect!
Walking distance to the spa baths and all the springs. Nothing to dislike really.
- Dianne (10/5): Bush setting with all the comforts. - Perfect little hideaway for 1 or 2. Very private, comfortable and peaceful. Great location for exploring the area.
- Jenny (10/5): We had a very relaxing couple of days great location to the spa baths - It was a lovely quiet little cottage Nothing
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): A peaceful and relaxing little cottage. - It was such a peaceful stay, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the property, everything was catered for and the spa bath was a huge hit for me. I felt rejuvenated after my stay.
- Efthimios (8/5): Very good - very good
- Aaron (10/5): Very enjoyable couples getaway - Super cute and cozy!
So many amenities for a cute getaway. I think they forgot to restock the toilet paper, but overall super lovely.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good - Location was good, peaceful.
Cabin comfotable I think mould on bathroom ceiling and bottom of roller blind.
- Elizabeth (8/5): value for money - lovely surroundings -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Feels secluded surrounded by lovely trees. Nice verandah with forest view. Good two man spa. Very friendly, helpful hosts. No issues at all.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Tarilta Cottage, a place to stay for Rest & Relaxation, country walks, Hepburn Bathhouse & Cafes. - Location was great, 3 mins from Hepburn Bathhouse which was one of the reasons to go to Hepburn. Loved the the veranda over looking the bush, saw wildlife, Kangas, birds, peace and quite. The small touches at the Cottage where appreciated bottle of wine, cooking spices, special treat to have with coffee, coffee machine even first aid kits and much more. thanks Anthony and Andrew. unable to think of anything needed to be improved on. maintenance, cleanliness, access is easy, turning point for cars to turn and drive out of the property. We found everything has been thought off.
- Carmen (8/5): Within the Tree Tops - Tarilta Cottage - There are so many things we liked about this beautiful quaint cottage- with a landscape to admire, it's perfect for a weekend away- even a mid-week break!
As we were packing up we wished we had booked an extra night...
Beautiful location amongst the trees, it felt like we were in the tree tops. Every window has a view!
Great for a winter getaway, we loved the cute fireplace and spa bath for 2! These can all be fixed...
Squeaky bed - towels got smelly from dampness and wobbly dining table.
- M (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (10/5): Everything we wanted, a lovely property - Clean, well appointed, lovely bush surrounds location Nothing
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (8/5): Tarilta Cottage is my favourite retreat to unwind and reconstitute; I’ll be sure to return. - Outstanding location and privacy.
Beautiful and peaceful bush outlook.
Facilities were very good in terms of scope (ie. internet access, laundry, smart TV and streaming, BBQ, AC,
kitchen appliances etc).
The fire is an absolute must during winter and works brilliantly.
Parking is excellent. I think it may soon be approaching time for a bit of a refresh.
Carpet could probably be renewed in the next 6 or 12 months.
Bathroom ceiling needs a repaint now as showing signs of mould developing.
Not a criticism, but an observation, Noting we stayed over during one of the coldest periods for a few years, the AC isn’t sufficient (and is noticeably noisy like all split systems) on its own, to adequately heat the cottage - the fire is a must. We found that a 15kg bag of quality firewood (about $20 per bag in Daylesford Mitre 10 for quality red gum) per day was required, which we purchased. Perhaps consideration could be given to increasing the current 8kg per day to a 15kg bag per day during the winter months.
- Weston (9/5): Wonderful and relaxing - Great location, peaceful, cosy and homely. So close to Hepburn Springs mineral baths and a really quick drive to everything in Daylesford. Loved to ease of location and the spa bath and wood fire. Also a comfy bed and great natural view all-round with streaming services provided. Plenty of options to make the place and time your own. Nothing I didn't like, but a little more firewood would be handy as I chose to just stay in one day and just relax so didn't have enough as it was raining off and on and chilly nights.
- Garth (9/5): A relaxing, quiet and easy place to stay. - Very quiet, peaceful spot to stay at while we were in the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs area. Not too many frills but a few nice touches that go a long way. The house comes with guest accounts for some streaming services on the tv. There was a fire prepared, ready to just be lit. Plenty of firewood. The owners checked in on us via email to ensure we were all good. It's a very cosy spot, perfect for couples or solo travelers. Super cold because of the area but the place is well prepared with the fireplace and the split system heater was effective. The bathroom gets very cold but there are heat lamps.
- Allan (9/5): Over & above what we expected for the price we paid. would highly recommend to all of our friends. - Quiet location. Comfortable. Very clean. Supply of coat hangers. (there was none)
Driveway lighting was dim.
- David (9/5): Superb - Location could not be faulted. In the best part of Hepburn Springs, but still secluded. Right on a main road, but super quiet and peaceful. The cottage itself is beautifully set up and has everything you need to hide away from the world in comfort, but still close enough to town to be convenient for everything including cafes/restaurants. As an added bonus, it has one of the best views from the 'throne' I've ever seen (which is not to throw shade on the rest of the place - every window has a lovely view of the bush). Possibly splitting hairs here - a little more firewood would be appreciated (it may be just that we had a particularly cold weekend, and while the aircon kept up ok, there's something about the ambiance of a fire to keep you warm...). Also, and this might be a 'safety' thing and therefore can't be changed, the the hot water seemed a little cool. We were still able to use the lovely spa, but could have used a bit more heat.
- Rachel (9/5): Perfect. - I love this place. It was a favourite pre-COVID for my stays 2-3 times a year and was glad to see it available again.
- Josie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, cottage was comfortable and stylish and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. loved it all
- Stephen (7/5): Beautiful secluded location in a very cosy cottage. - Lovely secluded location. Very cosy cottage. Generous sized bedroom and bathroom. Well equipped kitchenette. Beautiful views from the balcony/veranda. Comfortable mattress, very supportive. Separate driveway and carport makes it easy to unpack/pack the car, as it is close to the front door. This is our third or fourth visit over the past 10 years or so. In that time, some things have worn and will need replacing. In particular the blind in the bathroom was broken. Very difficult to wind it up for the daytime. In the end, we just left it raised. The decking near the front door is beginning to split and warp. Will need to be looked at.
- Night_fly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rohit (10/5): Amazing location, beautiful view! Highly recommended if someone want to stay in quiet and surrounded by beautiful forest - Beautiful view around the property and the property was neat and tidy. None
- Apostolos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (8/5): Very happy with stay. - Nicer than in the pictures. Great quiet local with views from the balcony of trees and lots of birds, but only a 2 minute walk to Hepburn Brewery and 5 minute walk to Hepburn spa. A peaceful local but near to everthing. Spa bath in bathroom with a bush view.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (10/5): We had a great time. -
- Alayne (10/5): Relaxing place to stay. Enjoyed our time in the hot springs. - Cosy, great having a fireplace and the wine was a lovely touch.
- Lachlan (8/5): Very good and so private. - Breakfast not included. I think the TV could be better.
- Nathawan (10/5): Nice and cozy ,have everything we need, will come back again. -
- Despina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belinda (9/5): Secluded, quiet and cosy - So cute, cosy and comfortable. Beautiful property and surroundings Wish I could have brought my dog
- Sandra-lee (9/5): Would stay again, extremly peaceful catered for all our needs for two days. - Location was beautiful surrounded by trees and bird song during the day very quiet. Carport close to accommodation. Accommodation warm with wood fire and reverse cycle. Everything you would need for a few days break. Loved the spa. Minor Maintenance needed attending to. Leaky tap under sink from washing machine. Taps needed tightening in kitchen and bathroom.
