Guest Reviews
- Kristy-lea (7/5): -
- Colleen (8/5): Fun place in a wonderful location - Great location The driveway was blocked by customers of the cafes nearby
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Cassandra (8/5): We had a great time - Very good location People kept parking in the driveway to use cafe and shops next door so it was hard to get in and out of property
- Tara (6/5): Place was ok but i wouldn’t choose to stay again, we left a day early. - Location was ok. The place is very run down.
We stayed due to having to bring pets but the backyard was not a yard we were able to enjoy or be in with our pet. BBQ was not useable.
There was a bad smell that gradually got worse each day in the back laundry/toilet area.
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Chrissy (5/5): Challenging and very hot - House is in disrepair, and,to be fair, some aspects feel unsafe. It was extremely hot inside when we arrived and we struggled to open windows everywhere. Many are broken or don't function, fly screens literally rotten/falling out,. I had to find sticks in the yard to hold the windows open. Air cond in lounge works well but one in main bedroom hardly cools and the the other one is so loud - impossible to sleep with it. Window screen in this room fell onto bed as I tried to open the window.
No aircond in the other rooms but we managed to prop open windows to help with heat.
Rained on the Sunday and there was definitely a leak in the corner of the kitchen wall (behind rubbish bin) which is concerning - rotten floor, mould growing etc..?
Front steps feel unsafe. Obvious Lean in house meant that every time you opened the fridge - the door smashed against the bench which has caused dent in fridge door (definitelty there before we got there).
Double bed across from lounge room - really uncomfortable (rock hard) - rest of beds were fine.
Yard has trip hazards - hard to move around.
We understand it was relatively cheap for 6 people however there are real safety concerns and we won't be staying there again.
- Heffernan (9/5): - Location, perfect. Great beach shack.
- Jason (8/5): Affordable and practical - Price and location
- Peter (7/5): Reasonably priced 4 bedroom shack in a great location. House has a number of shortcomings but nothing serious. - Great location across the road from the beach and an easy walk to the town and shops. Although it is an old house it does have some charm. We enjoyed our time there.
The manager was easy to contact and was helpful. We knew it was an old house however it is in urgent need of maintenance. None of the internal bedroom doors closed properly, and this wouldn’t be hard to fix. One bedroom didn’t even have a door.
It was a constant battle to stop people from parking across our driveway and blocking our car.
- Meaghan (9/5): Great location and great value. - Well located, plenty of beds. Everything we needed. Two great cafés either side and lovely beach opposite.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - We have been coming here for years. New management are quick to respond to messages. The house is located next to 2 great coffee shops. Location is perfect- right across from the beach. Blinds in front double room need replacing.
A few more forks.
- Scott (4/5): Disappointing -
- Scott (3/5): Poor - About the only thing good about the beach dump is the location. For an unlevel house with outdated facilities & furnishings it is way overpriced.
- Xavier (7/5): Good -
- Leask (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wild (10/5): Large family - The Beach Shack was perfect for our stay. The space was perfect for the kids to have time alone, or to play together, as well an area to set up all the equipment and costumes we needed for their competition on the weekend. Was spacious enough to have family call in for a visit.
U turn possible close by making the trip back to Yeppoon quick and easy.
A pleasant walk to the beach and park, a perfect view of the beach over breakfast from the front room. Kitchen was well equipped, and outdoor BBQ area was enjoyable in the evenings. The Cafe & bar next door was amazing and the staff were exceptional. Thank you for an amazing place to stay, we look forward to staying again! The fourth bedroom (single beds) was not a/c, a/c from the rest of the house was sufficient for our stay, but can imagine it would be uncomfortable in summer.
Dining room is small if trying to eat together as a group of 6 or more.
We had BBQ equipment with us, which was handy.
Parking can be difficult to access due to the businesses nearby. Parking at house is for one vehicle only. My low clearance van touched trying to get in the driveway.
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (2/5): Very poor - Beautiful Location and clean kitchen , bedrooms, Toilet and Bathroom The house is being neglected , it could collapse any minute. The little terrace in the backyard is dangerous....you could easy hurt yourself. It is sad to see a house being neglected like that in such a beautiful area.
- Louise (10/5): Great :) - It’s was in a great location and right across from the beach. And a park down the road that was a walk away. I also liked that it felt some homie and that the owners were welcoming Can’t really find a fault
- Dianne (10/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Monika (8/5): I would recommend this accomodation 😀 - Very comfortable mattress, dog friendly, everywhere close🤩 Nothing
- Mathew (7/5): Good - Lots of room and beds. Close to the beach and quiet at night. Next door to cafe. Owner very helpful and accommodating to our later than planned arrival. Older style home as per pictures but clean and tidy and comfortable.
Washing machine and dryer was an added bonus. Walking distance to so much.
- Kiah (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (7/5): It was good and will book again on nxt trip - Location No wifi
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay. House is old but very comfortable & the location was perfect. Would definitely stay again
- Steve (7/5): Older style house in great location - Location .. size No wi fi
- Barry (8/5): Very good -

- Roseanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (7/5): Great location, great budget and perfect for our little get away with our fur babies. - The location was brilliant, pet friendly was very important to us. Clean and tidy home. It was an older style home which we knew from the photos. It was perfect for us! And communication from the owner was really good. He sounded like a genuinely nice person.
- Edser (6/5): Pleasant - The house would be good value for a large family or group of friends. It was clean. plenty of beds. Modern appliances with laundry facilities. Great BBQ area in the back, and lots of privacy. The kitchen was stocked with tea bags, sugar, and coffee.
Also had pkts of noodle soup. There was a step down to the bathroom and toilet and my elderly mother forgot the step and had a fall. Farnborough is a busy road and there was no front fence to protect the dogs . No bed-side tables in the bedrooms and not enough storage and hanging space in the bedrooms. Need a knife sharpener.
- Kylie (9/5): Great place for the money. Good do with some maintenance in the bathroom. Overall great value for the price. - Close to everything, beautiful location The shower had no screen door so the water went everywhere, also the kitchen lacked utensils.
- Saskia (3/5): Poor -
- Adrian (9/5): Had a great stay. Well priced and excellent location. - Location was great. Host organised to have aircon on ready for our arrival.
- Barry (9/5): Very good, big house, very relaxing - Location was very good, close to everything Cars parking in driveway
- Kyles (4/5): Disappointing -
- Cassandra (8/5): Comfortable stay for our family. Lovely size home. Huge bathroom/shower. Wish had more time to stay. - Location
- Janine (8/5): Easy communication and access to home. GreatT.V. aircon, fridge and washing machine, and didn’t use dryer but there if - Close to Yeppoon and across the road from the beach Nothing specifically
- Duncan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and good value price. Place is quite basic. Only one bathroom.
- Greg (7/5): Good value for money. Old place but as long as you’re not spending all your time there it’s fine. - Good location opposite the beach. It’s an old property but not too bad for the price. Noisy to walk around in with kids. No internet was a bummer.
- Dorothy (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (7/5): Great location and value for money - Location was brilliant. Everything was well set out on arrival. Owner was very accommodating
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Great location, right next to the beach and a coffee shop/takeaway! Doors could use some loving.
- David (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay there. The house was very comfortable and homely. Will definitely keep this spot in mind for - Was in a great location. Also, the little Takeaway shop next-door was very handy. They do a lovely breakfast. we absolutely loved the property. An exhaust fan would be good in the bathroom due to condensation.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - comfortable clean great location
- Mike (7/5): Good - Plenty of room for a large family. Very close to all the Yeppoon facilities. Having a great cafe next door is ideal for breakfast. Fantastic beach right across the road. Air-conditioned. A bit of traffic noise from proximity to main road didn't interrupt sleep. Basic facilities but worked OK. Really noisy air-conditioning in one bedroom. No soap or plug for bathroom basin. Shower curtain.
- Mikaela (9/5): Great old beach house - Beautiful old beach house, well looked after - Everything was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Beds were 10/10 comfortable, nice big towels, air-conditioning was great. Loved the location, coffee shop right next door was really handy and right across the road from off leash dog beach was an added bonus. We loved this stay as a couple but there was ample room for a family to enjoy. Hard to complain however the side gate wouldn't close and our dog did get out while we were away which was a bit scary so close to the road
- Lindsay (9/5): Great location reminds me of my grandparents house from years ago -
- Suzy (7/5): Good -
- White (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (9/5): loved the place will be returning - the place was clean and comfortable
access to beach was awesome
( across the road)
and shops within a stone throw
- Tamara (9/5): Wonderful location and very spacious house! - Very close to beach, food and shops. Loved the Christmas tree and the personal touches to the property. Lots of rooms and space!!! Wifi and Netflix.
- Michelle (9/5): We always stay here and love its location. - Location to the beach is fantastic, roomy house for a family, airconditioned, able to cook for yourselves and having a fenced yard is awesome. Owners have made some great changes. A few more cooking utensils and a new frypan would be great but not a negative.
