Guest Reviews
- Hannah (10/5): - The place was clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed provided. It was in a perfect area for exploring and was easy to locate.
- Tim (10/5): Our stay at Little Violet exceeded our expectations massively. We would thoroughly recommend this destination and plan t - We loved absolutely everything about this property and would not hesitate to return. We were greeted by the delightful owner who showed us through her property. From the turntable quietly playing in the background to the magnificent platter of antipasto provided on entry, it was love at first sight. The decor, and presentation were amazing and the attention to detail flawless. The provisions provided were simply perfect and generous. Perfect for a couple and very spacious. Clean, comfortable and an extremely relaxing experience. Absolute value for money. Everywhere you looked there were little surprises to make our stay perfect.
- Mal (10/5): Wow - Wonderful property. Fantastic host provided not only a super clean beautiful house but filled it with food galore: bacon, eggs, bread and butter, sausages, cake, the list goes on. The bed was a bit small but really there was nothing else i could fault
- Arun (10/5): - Simply perfect (10/10)
Our stay at Little Violet was nothing short of beautiful. We stayed for 5 days, and from the moment we arrived, Charmaine was fantastic: warm, welcoming, and incredibly thoughtful. She greeted us personally and had prepared so much for our stay, including wine, a homemade frittata, organic fresh produce, bread, cheese, tomatoes, and even baked cakes and delicious Lindt brownies. Opening the fridge to find it so generously stocked meant we could relax immediately without worrying about shopping. It was such a kind and memorable gesture.
The cottage itself strikes that rare balance of being simple yet sophisticated. It is wonderfully cosy, calming, and thoughtfully designed, with an eclectic charm reminiscent of an English countryside cottage. Every detail felt considered, from the quality of the amenities to the comfortable bed and couch, to the vinyl record player that added an intimate, nostalgic touch. Everything was spotless, fresh, and beautifully arranged. The complimentary port and crackers were another lovely surprise.
The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, and the space overall felt private, peaceful, and indulgent in the most understated way. It was perfect for our New Year’s getaway, and
What truly makes Little Violet special, though, is the garden. You can feel the care, love, and vision that Charmaine and Erik have poured into it over many years. Sitting on the deck each morning, surrounded by greenery, soft mountain air, and birdsong, felt like being gently held by the landscape itself. It’s the kind of environment that restores you without you even realising it.
We also completely fell in love with Kallista and Olinda, the surrounding gardens, winding roads, and nearby explorations made the stay so rich.
We genuinely had no complaints whatsoever. Every moment felt considered, peaceful, and deeply restorative. Perfect in every way describable.
A flawless stay
10/10. We will absolutely be back.

The attention to detail is unmatched, and the warm comforts of home with everything you could need and more. The gorgeous platter of cheese and treats was a lovely surprise and honestly blew me away. The bed was warm and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the whole place was well heated and maintained. Nothing, everything was perfect

- Kim (10/5): Little Violet is an absolute gem, an exceptional place to stay. - The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and beautifully decorated, with quirky additions such as a record player to add to the overall experience. The location was excellent, making a great base for exploring the Dandenong Ranges. Charmaine was a most generous, warm and hospitable host who provided us with the most delicious array of food- cake, biscuits, antipasto etc as well as our breakfast supplies. I have never experienced such wonderful food in all my years travelling. She provided us with great suggestions on what to see and do in the area and went out of her way to make us feel at home. This was the perfect getaway for us and we would absolutely love to return. Little Violet was faultless- we loved it.
- Karen (10/5): - Amazing experience; beautiful and well maintained property, exceptional provision of food - breakfast, snacks and treats etc. Charmaine was so kind to greet me in person, show me the property, and also to send some links to local trails. The surrounds were quiet and the property is close to plenty of hiking trails and shops in the Dandenong Ranges. There is such attention to detail and everything you could possibly need for a stay, I honestly couldn't recommend any improvements!
- Linda (10/5): A gorgeous getaway where you will be totally spoiled. - One of my favourite getaways ever. Charmaine is a lovely host. She provided so many delicious gourmet treats as part of the stay. Amazing gourmet ingredients for a cooked breakfast, incredibly delicious homemade cakes and cookies, wine and a beautiful platter. I really appreciated the small touches too...basic condiments, olive oil etc. We felt very spoiled. The bed was super comfy and the garden is lovely with many birds flitting about.

- Sharyn (10/5): Just divine, a lovely experience 😊 - Our stay at Little Violet was just divine, Charmaine our lovely host went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience. We were met with afternoon canapés, along with lots of home baked treats and everything needed to cook ourselves a full breakfast. This gorgeous little cottage was so beautifully decorated yet oozed homeliness along with peace and tranquility in its beautiful garden setting. We could not of asked for a nicer place to spend a few days away from work to just rest and relax 😊 I honestly could not think of anything that we didn’t like, this would have to be the loveliest experience I have encountered in all my travels both here and overseas.

- Mel (10/5): Wonderful visit - This was a wonderful stay, the host Charmaine was so warm and welcoming. On arrival there were little treats, music playing and the fire on. The place was comfortable with all the amenities, we had a fantastic breakfast set up for over our stay and the location was good, within walking distance of a grocery shop and restaurants. Good little find for hikers! Be warned that the restaurants nearby might shut early on weekdays as it's a little more rural. No faults of Little Violet though!
