Guest Reviews
- Matthew (10/5): Cozy and relaxing - Very relaxing house, well thought out including everything you need. Beautiful view of the lake from almost every side of the house. Dog friendly. Also a shower for tall people, it's so nice not to have to duck under the shower. Leaving
- Kasun Lokumudali (10/5): A wonderful stay! - We had a fantastic stay here. The place was beautiful - overlooking the lake. Well kept, neat and tidy. Offerred all required comforts, facilities and appliances, etc. Wonderful views all around. From the living area, almost 180 degrees view of the lake and the meadow, where you can see alpacas and sheeps wondering around. Lots of books to sit down with a wine and get lost in. Had a sunset wine session on the patio, looking over the lake. Wondwrful experience - will definitely book again in future.
- Hammond (10/5): - The retreat lived up to our expectations. We had a very relaxing time.
- Monique (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): A nice getaway that’s not too far from Adelaide - I loved that it was convenient and had all the comforts of full kitchen with utensils and pans and pots.
Even had spices like salt, pepper, turmeric…
All we had to bring was the core ingredients and some extra spices for cooking. The views were amazing and it was a great trip away Not me but some of my friends had a difficult transition disconnecting from the internet
- Tabitha (10/5): Relaxing, quiet and tranquil, will definitely stay again! - This property had everything you could possibly want and need in a remote farm stay, plenty of space for the kids to explore and have fun!
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - The location and facilities are amazing 👏 loved the experience Nothing
- Jacqueline (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nicole (9/5): Beautiful house. - Beautiful location. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable.
My daughters 9 and 5 loved the animals. The goats were amusing and quite socialable and my 5 yr old named the alpacas 🥰 Would have been good to have a clothesline or larger clothes horse.
We couldn't open bedroom windows which would have been good as there was a beautiful breeze coming into the rest of the house from the doors being opened.
Otherwise it was a great place and we loved our stay.
- Chris (2/5): Don't bother unless you're happy with dirtyness - Location is really good as long as the wind isn't blowing the flies in. On arrival we found blood stains on a pillow (YUCK) and on the wall next to the bathroom in the same room, Owner claims it was tomato sauce (you can decide from photo's). We sent a message to the cleaner and she came and changed the bedding (it obviously wasn't done after previous visitor), which she admitted she had missed it. The dishes needed cleaning as we went along, and the lounge area felt grimy. Owner then claimed we had broken a door handle, which we didn't and from the photos he sent of a dismantled door handle, there's no external damage to the door handle, only an internal plastic part that looks worn out. So obviously not our fault. There was also mouse droppings in a cabinet under the sink (he again denied this). He also claimed our dog made holes in the garden, our dog did nothing, she doesn't dig, (no video footage even though where the hole is, is in front of a camera) even his photos show that it is an old hole (no fresh dirt anywhere near it), and there was at least 14 old dog poops in the yard, i gave up counting them.. Our photo taken soon after arrival show the hole already there. Our photo's also show the general dirtiness of the place.
The owner admitted in an email that 4 hours isn't enough time to clean properly between guests. For a $200 cleaning fee we expected a lot better. The owner tends to point the finger at guests when they have a negative experience to try and dissuade them from putting an honest review in (in our case it is totally unfounded) which we will be expecting..
Obviously we won't return, but wanted to warn others :(
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynette (9/5): Really relaxing, calming location, with everything provided at the accommodation, - will recommend to others! -
- Gillian (10/5): House exceeded our expectations. Great layout, everything works/super comfortable. Amazing views! - Fantastic location and terrific, spacious house. Nothing
- Ashwin (10/5): Amazing will definitely come back. - The views were magical and being in nature was a recharge we all needed. Unfortunately the weather was not great due to the high winds on the weekend we stayed, which was no one's faults but we would've stayed outside the whole time if the weather was better.
- Sara (1/5): Not as described - only suitable for 2 adults with lots of children! - Location ok We were not expecting the room with the double bed to actually be a room with a bunk bed unsuitable for all except small children. You also had to lie flat on the bottom bunk if you wanted to operate the roller blind. Toilet in main ensuite was on a plinth with no room on it to plant your feet. Health and safety? Sofa stained. No fly spray available so plenty of mosquitoes inside. No recycle bin and bin top covered in bird droppings. Left early which says it all.
- Wilmari (8/5): Very good - The view was spectacular, and the house had everything we needed. Easy access to the lake for water-based activities. The grass area around the house needs some attention. Would be nice to have more sturdy tables inside the house.
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (8/5): overall a great place, would just move that camera from there! No one wanted to sit in that area because of it! - Great rural views and secluded! Didn’t like the Camera looking over the back Bbq area, I felt like we were being watched.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Welcomed by a wonderful host and made to feel welcome. Position is great with peace and views. - We loved the light and spaciousness throughout the house. There has been great thought and generousity in kitting out the house and whilst we did not use all the amenities provided we could see it would be suitable for large or small groups. N/A
- Emma (1/5): Awful - would not recommend - The location of this property was great with a lovely outlook to the water. Meningie is a lovely town. Sadly this property was not clean. We booked for 3 nights and left after one night as we could not stand to stay there. There were dead bugs in every room, crumbs in the kitchen, all the surfaces were smeary. One of the kitchen drains was blocked and there were bits of old food floating in there. The lawn was covered in dog poo, which we had to pick up ourselves to ensure the kids weren't stepping in it. To make matters worse, there was only enough hot water for 2 short showers. When I emailed the owner, I was told that I must have let the bugs in (even though they were there when we arrived - they had clearly been dead for a long time), and that it wasn't true the place was dirty and that it was impossible that the hot water didn't work - which it definitely didn't! We were extremely disappointed.
- Hanning (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (7/5): Good -
- Fitzjohn (10/5): Stayed with my three boys, husband and mother in law for her 70th, it was amazing -
