Guest Reviews
- Bradley (9/5): Perfect cottage to relax up in the Blue Mountains and explore some walking trails while you are there. - The cottage has awesome views onto the escarpment.
Close to the Blackheath town centre.
Close to numerous walking tracks in the national park.
Comfortable bed.
Well appointed kitchen. The Wifi was hit or miss, sometimes good, mostly poor.
The tv reception was bad.
Needs a proper espresso coffee machine.
- Bratton (10/5): - Everything
- Werner (9/5): Sehr zu empfehlen! -
- Kellie (9/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): Our stay was lovely. There is so much to see in the area. - Well equipped, comfortable beds, beautiful views and lovely to watch the wildlife Could have been cleaner
- Amanda (9/5): - A great cottage that has everything you need for a short stay, stunning views and perfectly located. Heating worked very well. No major issues
- damon (10/5): What an epic place. Loved it !! - Amazing view Nothing
- Hannah (8/5): Great getaway cottage with amazing views - The view, cosy and well equipped little cottage. The bed/mattress in the front bedroom wasn't great - perhaps something broken in the frame as it was quite creaky everytime you made a slight movement. And also you sunk down quite a lot, which could have again been the frame or perhaps the mattress.
- Emily (7/5): Beautiful location with spectacular view - The location was fantastic- very close to Blackheath town, also close to many amazing walks in the Blue Mountains.
The view was spectacular.
The kitchen was well stocked and very usable. The mattress in the 2nd bedroom was very uncomfortable.
One of the couches did not have a nice smell.
The spa was incredibly noisy and therefore unusable.
There was no gas in the bottle so unable to use the BBQ.
The logs to sit on in the beautiful area at the bottom of the garden were rotting and therefore could only accommodate 2 people to sit in that area.
Would benefit from a mid stay clean/ linen change.

- Tracey (10/5): Absolutely excellent accommodation. Close to everything and those damn views 👍 - Wow just wow….. the views are 10/10 Leaving
- Keryna (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): - The location is stunning. The house was warm, comfortable and private.
If we could have stayed longer, we would have.
There is nothing that I didn't like about this accommodation.
- Robert (8/5): Great place, would stay again. - Very spacious, warm central heating/fireplace, great view, comfortable lounges, big tv. Bbq was very mouldy and the pan we used had a white film caked into it. Could do with some more pepper/dishwashing tablets too.
- Joey (8/5): - The location was great, cute, comfortable cottage. Nice and warm. Stunning views
- Kim-ellen (10/5): - This place is a rustic sanctuary in the mountains
- Jacob (10/5): This gorgeous cottage had everything we needed for our little family. - The cottage was perfect for our little family! We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace and spa bath, and the heating was really efficient and quick.
Each morning and evening we enjoyed sunrises and sunsets with clear view of the canyon and mountains! A cleaner more “kept” deck and lounge to sit at would have been nice. In addition, a firepit outside would have been well utilised by us.
- Declan (8/5): Cute cottage with great views. - Very beautiful location and good hearing. Great views and seating area. Nothing
- Rhonda (8/5): Really enjoyed the stay, would recommend this place to others - Location was perfect for exploring Blackheath walks, quiet, great outlook TV needs an update, very slow to access apps, with TV reception not available would have been good to access via 10play, 9now etc or be able to cast from our own device
- Lena (8/5): Overall we had a nice time. - The views at the backyard overlooking the canyon was excellent. The wild birds were amazing. Sunrise views were spectacular! The backyard area is messy with tall grass, bushy, could improve much more to make them look neater and nicer.
The BBQ cooker is too filthy to be used, it’s a disappointment.
A lot of dust and dirt by the bedside, we had to pull out the vacuum to clean it ourselves.
The house driveway entrance is difficult to locate because there’s a huge overflowing bush blocking it, and the entrance is narrow.
- Jayne (1/5): Blackheath trip - The location.
We contacted Booking.com and the owner of the property to inform them of the situation. We're extremely grateful that the owner issued us a full refund. We felt unable to stay here due to the lack of cleanliness and general state of decay of the property. We had to immediately book alternative accommodation.
- Kellie (8/5): Great view - The view from the place is amazing. It is also a short drive to our favourite hikes in the Blue Mountains. The kitchen has everything you might want. The cottage is located in a very quiet area. The heating works amazingly well. The internet was good. The place wasn't as clean as it had been the last time we stayed. Apparently it was cleaned just before we arrived but they must of forgotten to do the bath and it just felt like it needed a really big clean to get the cobwebs out. I will stay again though as the view is worth it.
- Anthony (8/5): Great stay - Location Nothing
- John (8/5): Great location and with amazing view into the mountains. -
- David (9/5): Delightful cottage with great views and effective heating which made our stay memorable - Key code and lock was easy to use.
Central underfloor heating was fabulous. Wuick and easy. Well appointed kitchen. Good wifi. Great view. TV reception was poor
Shampoo and conditioner would have been a welcome touch
- Twycross (8/5): Very good - We liked the warm, yet uncluttered feel of Canyon Cottage,, together with the amazing view. Nothing
- Mihir (8/5): Very good -
- Joshua (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Kellie (9/5): Great cabin with amazing view - After reading some of the other reviews I had low expectations and I am happy to say that I thought the place was really great. It looks like the owners have addressed many of the issues that others people complained about in previous reviews. It has an amazing view and I found everything I needed during the stay. Coffee, tea, cooking oil, salt pepper, washing up stuff, good amount of toilet paper etc was all there, plus some other stuff in the kitchen glad wrap etc which I thought was a nice bonus. The central heating works really well, the beds were comfortable and the internet worked well. The toilet cistern didn't fill up at one point but it was fixed easily and never happened again. I will definitely stay here again. Hardly anyone delivers food in Blackheath as I didn't want to leave the accommodation :)
- Jonathan (8/5): Lovely cosy cabin with spectacular views of the Blue Mountains. - A very cosy cabin with spectacular views of the Blue Mountains. Central heating was great (and needed as the temperature reached freezing). No complaints about the accommodation. Only minor gripe was that, for the price being charged, I would have expected a proper coffee machine and some essentials on arrival, for example tea and milk. We also had to hunt around for the WiFi password. This should be in the welcome email.
- Anonymous (2/5): Exceptional view. Disappointing accomodation - The view from this property is beautiful and house was cozy warm. Unfortunately, that is where the good points end. This property is not clean and very poorly maintained - see list of issues we experienced below.
* Poorly maintained and unprofessional presentation.
* Electrical cable mount on house for main power from the street is a safety issue. The treated pine fascia has rotted and the mounting bolts are pulling through it. Needs professional attention asap.
* Toilet doesn’t flush properly
* Lights dont work
* Exhaust fan doesn’t work.
* Yard has rubbish in it - old lattice - the yard is a mess.
* Pieces of paper with messages scribbled on them jammed in window frame for instructions to the guests.
* House is not clean at all.
* The advertising / promotion is not accurate.
* No clothes dryer as advertised
* “Newly renovated” - very questionable.
We would definitely not stay here again.
- Natasia (8/5): Very nice stay and very clean, but was hard to see as some of the lights were broken. - very nice view, clean and comfortable. The light bulbs were broken.
- Chloe (10/5): Great little weekend getaway - Loved the location - not too far from everything, view was perfect and the facilities were clean and easy to use N/A
- Janine (8/5): Simple rustic cabin, with absolutely beautiful scenery, plentiful birds. Feels secluded but also a very central drive to - Beautiful outlook onto cliffs. Fun feeding beautiful birds. Fire place and good central heating. Plentiful facilities eg. Bathroom and cleaning consumables. Couch and beds a bit uncomfortable but not a problem for us.
- Anne (7/5): Good - The heating, the view, Wi-Fi and birdlife Very basic for price.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Judy (10/5): Loved the cottage and the Blue Mountains area around Blackheath was amazing. - We loved the location of the property, central to many walking tracks and lookouts. The view from the backyard was spectacular!
Having the parrots eat from our hands was amazing.
The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and communication on access and expectations on arrival and departure were very clear. The interior lighting was very dull and made snuggling down on the couch to read at night impossible.
- Sinclair (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing view and bird life. Watching the satin bowerbird doing its dance was magic.
- Xavier (10/5): Tranquility and silence. Bliss. - The location, privacy and tranquillity of the location.
The Mrs and I work 6 busy days a week so it was absolutely heavenly to get away where it's peaceful and quiet and have an amazing view to wake up to. Nothing.
- Misha (9/5): Superb -
