Guest Reviews
- Rummeny (10/5): Nice - Small and nice Nothing
- judy (8/5): -
- Nikki (4/5): - Lack of response to fixing issues
No wifi
Gardens severly overgrown
- Jonno (1/5): False advertisement. Do not stay here . - Nothing Took one look at this place and decided not to stay . Emailed the property as soon as I looked at and and sent pictures . Was not what was advertised and complete farce . I lost $600 for the booking and they would not refund me any money .We chose to instead stay at a hotel for the trip . This is not a two bedroom home it’s a small granny flat behind a Queenslander and has no entertainment area . Only mud and rusty outdoor set . Major disappointment .

- steven (5/5): Good other than the bed issue - The overall accommodation was just as we expected and we where initially very happy but we found a few issues which took away some off the experience The air-conditioner in the main living area did not get cold but the main concern was the main bedroom bed it was not to late Saturday night when we going to bed we found a big problem with the bed the supporting bed frame was damaged and broken and this lead to a very uncomfortable nights sleep we reported it to the owner on Sunday and another very uncomfortable sleep was had that night as well my wife is also recovering from a back problem so this did not help at all the bed base was replace late Monday and our nights improved but with two bad nights it detracted from our holiday If the above had not happened the accommodation would have been perfect for us.
- Ronal (9/5): -
- Rachael (6/5): - Modern facilities Access to bedroom through the bathroom.
- Katherine (3/5): While promoted as pet friendly, the yard area was not appropriate for you and dogs. - At the time of visiting, the backyard area was not as shown in photos. There was no grass and the gazebo shown no longer has a cover so there is no shade.
- Charanpreet (3/5): Far from Cosy. Avoid at all costs. - No internet for the duration of my stay. Even though the host knew of the problem beforehand it wasn't fixed. Dirty rooms with a buildup of dirt on walls, artificial decor and fans.
- Lianna (7/5): the stay was nice and comfortable would recommend for younger travels - that it was cosy and close to the city there was no wifi it wasn’t connecting on anything and when we texted the host on his number and tried to call there was no reply all stay, there was also no hot water.
- Fiona (1/5): horrible - the location was good The place was dirty even though you have to pay a 70 dollar cleaning fee show pictures of a nice outside are ha the is no grass no roof on gazboo and mould and animal poop all over the outside table and to get in there the gate is broken so you got carry the gate no hot water for 4 days to was everything before you could use it. Mould on window sills, single rooms have a wet smell to it was going to send a cleaner on the last day there what a waste
- Kolaiah (9/5): -
- Marilyn (2/5): Not so Cosy 2 bedroom unit - The comment left on the fridge, by a previous person .. underlined!
*The owners should be locked up in jail
on the booking.com sticker on the fridge The broken Sofa lounge deliberately covered with a throw blanket, with a urine stain. The management were asked to replace the unusable sofa, but declined.
Broken water glass jug in the fridge.
Position of Toilet , no privacy.
Sola sensor outside lighting needed, especially with stairs,
The neighbour was watching our every move.
- David (5/5): -
- Sithum (8/5): -
- Sue (8/5): Short & Sweet - Location suited our purpose & was quiet Could of had softer pillows
- Lenny (8/5): great location and great space, really cheap price - The property had a lot of available home cleaning and cooking equipment, the space was great a lot of room to move around. At first going there we did notice a couple of things broken, like the clothes rack in the main room and the bed, it didn’t really affect our stay much but it would be a big issue if an incident were to happen.
- Marie (5/5): Not worth the money! - Kitchen facilities were great. Carport too tight to move or reverse out of without doing more than a 3point turn. Double bed base broken, corner of couch broken, no gas in reverse cycle aircon to use heating for the night, back yard no grass, tree branches everywhere including on clothes line, no cover on pergola & half electrical PowerPoint don’t work. Turns out these have noted & complained about in other reviews for more than 12mths.
Property in front of this cottage is on air BnB and just a poorly looked after.
- Sandie (9/5): Cosy little getaway - Location was perfect. For such a small space it worked well for our needs. Loved the shower The lounge was a little uncomfortable to sit on but overall very happy with the property
- Sasako (7/5): Enjoyable stay for what we needed. - Nice little flat. Everything was clean and tidy. Parking space was tight
- Nick (8/5): Very good -
- Kokea (8/5): Very good -
- Melvin (8/5): Very good -
- Clare (8/5): Very good -
- Dorothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tiffany (4/5): Clean, tidy but poor facilities. - Fairly clean and tidy Bed was broken, had to sleep on the floor. Outside area had no grass, on the pictures it had a full lawn.
- Kimbra (8/5): Sufficient - Access
- Elliot (5/5): Passable - Being locked out of our room due to lockpad running out of battery
- Doug (7/5): Good -
- Shelly (8/5): Very good - The set out of the room
Beds were comfortable Outside needs lots of work
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sabrina (10/5): Family of 3 - "Hidden Treasure" - I like how it's hidden away in a prime location, it's very cosy, loved the layout, beds were very comfortable, split system in all the rooms, just stunning and fit perfectly for a family of 3. Floor was abit dirty and couple of the plates, cups and utensils wasn't washed and cleaned properly, upon arriving I had to sweep the floor and rewash the dirty kitchenware.
- Sandra (1/5): Never again will I stay there and will write bad reviews and post photos of the accomodation. - The property was dirty. I spoke to the property manger or owner after I requested a refund cause the property was dirty, mouldy and had cockroaches in the bed and bedroom he said you probably only paid $70 a night and that this conversation wasn’t worth his time. Very unhappy and peed off with the response. I have photos to prove dirtyness. My dirty accomodation and they response to my complaint.
- Phillip (8/5): Very good - Didn't meet any staff to rate them. Booking efficiently managed. Lots of thoughtful add ons provided at the property.
- Margaret (7/5): Good - Lovely quiet location Narrow driveway
- Simpson (6/5): Pleasant -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Katrina (8/5): Very good -
- Martha (8/5): Felt very comfortable - Location was close to where I needed to be. essentials were available which was great. Felt very homie. Neighbours of time of stay were friendly. Sand flies...
- Jo (7/5): Good - Location & price was excellent with being a 5 min drive to the city/The Strand. Stylish finishings & comfortable with ample room for small family. Communication with manager/owner was excellent. There are a few maintenance issues that require attention, which we have advised the manager/owner about upon our departure. Overall the facilities were ample for our stay.
- Megan (8/5): Wonderful place to stay with access to everything! - Location-close to town and an arterial road.
Facilities - easy to cook, had everything we needed and more. Perfect for 3 people. Lots of power points. Aircon and fans in every room.
Privacy Tight drive way
Would have liked a clothes horse
- Graeme (9/5): Superb -
- Tracey (8/5): Very good - Neat and tidy and affordable
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (9/5): Superb - The language from the tenants in 47A while they were partying on the back decking. Throughout the day they were pleasant but by evening the amount of F*%&k and C%&*t that was being spoken within their conversations became offensive and made it unpleasant to sit our little decking that was opposite them.
- Joeana (9/5): Quiet and well appointed. Very cosy! - Nice size, good air cons, nice bathroom and a decent washing machine. Great for 2 people and a young child. The yard was bare and needed some attention before letting kids play outside but it was all fenced up and private.
- Robyn (4/5): Disappointing - Location was good. To much rubbish around the yard, large dirty dog bones, and Clotheslines bent and covered in large palm tree branches.
The driveway was too hard to get out of the car park when other cars were also in the yard from the house in front. Parked car on the street. Too many things didn't work and no one got back to us at all, The washing machine said clean the filter found Lego in it, and still did not wash.
Forgot to send us the code to get in and we rang, texted, and emailed for 40 minutes, told to go back to the house and someone would meet us, but no one came.
Got charged a cleaning fee maybe they can use it to buy clean items for beds. Sheets ok but the insert, yuck. TV never worked in the bedroom just single on screen.
Lights, and fans in the single room not working, also may have a matching set of crockery items to eat off like a dinner set for 4 ppl. NOT plastic ones.
Would not go out side in the yard as seen a snake in amongst rubbish and leaves.
- Leah (7/5): It's cute..awesome shower..jus the bugs were too much - Location was good .place was cute There was alot of biting bugs..my kids and I got smashed..they were so small and really made a mess of my kids legs and arms
- Lee-anne (8/5): Clean, attractively presented, central but quiet - Water pressure in shower was excellent and linen quality was very good A sensor light at the front steps would be helpful at night
- Kyle (5/5): Was convenient place to stay being close to the centre of town but the property needs a good - It was only a 7min drive to the centre of town. Behind the bed was big chunks of fluf, obviously had not been cleaned properly.
House had a slight greasy smell to it like the oven rents had not been cleaned, couldn't quite put my nose on the exact smell.
Windows in main bedroom had no fly screen and I was eaten alive by sand flys as the property is really close to the mud flats.
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Ashwind (4/5): This place is similar to a 3 star motel standard with the very basics amenities to get you by. - The place is similar to a granny house situation behind the main house, the location is not bad and it takes about $10 to uber into town. The area is nice and quiet. There aren't many restaurants around so best to cook in and/or uber to city. It is a very budget stay and the amenities offered should be edited to what it actually offered at the property. The plates were mostly chipped and utensils weren't enough for 4 people. The owners are not contactable when need via text, had to always call for a response. Wifi briefly worked for a day and we told Steve that we needed the wifi for a zoom meeting however, they failed to solve the problem. The front house had the same issue with wifi not working. We had to use our own and spent $100 or so on wifi alone staying at this place. The door lock is not user friendly and needed getting used to. There were ants and bugs all over the place. The air con in the room had bugs coming out of it when turned on. It would have been beneficial to have a few more rubbish bags, chux wipes and detergent.
- Nancy (4/5): Never going back to that place again!! - Nothing The cutlery were all chipped. The towels were all substandard quality. The owners are not contactable when need be.The door lock is not user friendly.I almost was stuck outside for few hours but the owner failed to answer my repeated calls and contacted me the next day.I would never recommend this place.
- Chloe (5/5): Good location to where we needed. But wasn’t worth the money for the place - The property was in a good location to where we need to go. The aircon was all mouldy and dirty, the fin on the aircon was broken. The queen bed was just holding it self up. I’m really shocked it didn’t break while we were sleeping on it. The set up of the place was all over the place. Like the bathroom light was in the spare room and you had to walk through the bathroom to get to the spare bedroom. There was no dish soap to clean up the dishes after use.
Fan control holder were broken. Couldn’t have windows open due to no fly screens on the windows. No spare bin bags. Really wasn’t worth the money we paid. But disappointed.
- Tammy (2/5): Cleanliness was poor, won’t be staying here again or any of Airbnb that are owned by Townsville Holiday Rentals - I liked that I could park off the street but if the front house was occupied then you wouldn’t be able to park 2 x vehicles, especially if they are 4WD. It wasn’t clean and the sandflies are BAD
- Shardae (8/5): Very good -
- Jodie-lee (9/5): Superb - Had everything we needed, it was like a home away from home. The Sandflies haha
- Sonya (5/5): host does not respond to messages in a timely manner - i had to message host asthe instructions were not sent to me
there was no outside lighting on the stairs and it was dangerous at night i messaged the host who replied 2 days later saying he couldnt get it fixed
- Robert (5/5): Passable - Price Parking was poor- property has a rental at front and 2nd rental at back of property which we used. Park area for back rental was at end of driveway which regularly saw renters of the front property parking their cars in the driveway- 3 cars in driveway which limited access to back property parking and access - driveway was narrow as well- but property and cost was good value
- Zebeth (9/5): Great for short stay and safe , quiet location to rest after a busy day. - We’ll presented and comfortable, convenient location. Great for a short stay. Owner is great with communication and feedback. Needs a little attention, starting to show signs of wear and the yard needs attention as not very inviting space.
- Razia (5/5): It’s a modern cosy apartment, however, essentials weren’t provided, the place needed a good clean and outside light by t - location cleanliness
- Rick (9/5): the accomadation was excellent . very clean and modern - modern and cozy front door lock difficult with code
- Kristy (8/5): Very good -
- Warren (6/5): Pleasant - Good location. Fully fenced yard for our dog. Comfortable beds Lighting on the steps to front door wasn’t bright enough.
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Mihail-patrick (8/5): comfy - a beautiful apartment wifi wasn’t working too well
- Emily (9/5): Steve was an awesome host, would definitely stay here again. - The house was really comfortable, with nice furnishings and comfy beds. Everything was clean and well looked after.
- Betty (8/5): Very good -
