Guest Reviews
- Stephen (9/5): Lovely rustic cottage surrounded by the Aussie bush - This was a lovely rustic 2 bedroom cottage in a quiet location surrounded by the beautiful Aussie bush. We travelled with another couple and there was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked 3 out of the 4 nights we were there. We did light the fire one night and it certainly kept the cottage toasty warm. We met our hosts a couple of times (they lived further up the road and we shared the same driveway) and they were super helpful with advice on walking trails and the best places to find coffee, food etc in the nearby villages. Nothing. The only thing I would say that driving at night on the small, windy country roads was a little tense but we only had to do this once

- Matilda (10/5): Would stay again - Comfortable beds, beautiful area, many chairs and tables, good facilities I imagine it could get very hot without an aircon but we were lucky to have cooler weather
- Rebecca (8/5): - A really cool & private place to stay. Beds really comfortable. Was gorgeous sitting out on the back deck with candle light in nature. Loved it!! So nice having an indoor fire place that was set up ready to be lit. Thank you! Loved hearing the creek flowing also.

- Donna (10/5): Perfect place to sit on the deck with a glass of wine and just breath. - What a delight this cottage is. One night wasn't enough. Lovely fireplace, bush location and very comfortable king size bed. Safe outdoor space for our pup to enjoy. Perfect place to sit on the deck with a glass of wine and just breath.
- John (10/5): - Everything was perfect

- Louise (10/5): - Peaceful, quiet and private. Cute little cottage but plenty of space inside with a big balcony. Indoor fireplace kept us nice and warm at night. The owners replenished the firewood daily. Comfy bed. Plenty of seating inside and out. Beautiful area. Loved it There was not a thing we didn't like about this stay
- Alexandra (10/5): Amazing - Everything

- Valeriia Dubishkina (10/5): - Great spot, good value for money. Nothing.
- Leonie (10/5): Very relaxing and comfortable. - Comfortable beds with plenty of extra blankets. we appreciated the fire being set ready to light with plenty of firewood. Parts of the back deck timber felt a bit spongy, so I avoided it.

- Sid (10/5): One of the best stays possible - What didn't I like. Wow. I originally booked for 1 evening and I was very lucky that there happened to be the next 2 nights available which I promptly snapped up.
Anytime spent away from this lovely home was with well intentions to get straight back to enjoy the serenity.
Beautiful couple. The last day/night was raining which literally added another element to the serenity. Will be back. Would be over the moon to live long term somewhere like that even though I do enjoy the coast. This was up with the nicest places I've ever stayed. Was great to be immersed in nature. Thanks again Rob and Gaily and got to meet their lovely dog who had a play with my boy before I left after a wonderful 3/4 days. Will be back in the near future. I promise myself!
Also the beds were comfier than the epitome of comfort itself. Not to mention the sound of the river streaming down the hill to the left of the window was something I could never get bored of. That I couldn't stay there forever.

Also a bonus is the washing machine and dryer. Always handy when you have a newborn. I cannot think of one negative about Sweetwater.

Peaceful and silent save for the sound of the running water, a true dream. Guaranteed peaceful days and a sound sleep. Friendly peacocks visit daily. The cottage is spacious, airy and comes with everything you might need. A beautiful deck overlooks the creek, perfect for yoga and meditation.
The hosts are absolutely jovial, well-mannered and easy going and will go out of their way to accommodate you.
The value for money is excellent.
As a seasoned traveller, this was by a long shot the best stay in the whole region.
I cannot recommend enough.

- Lauren (9/5): Great escape - beautiful cottage set in the hinterlands. Peaceful and beautiful
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - The place was very accommodating. Everything you needed was there.. it was in a very beautiful area. It was definitely a home away from home feel.
- Iris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenni (8/5): Cute cottage in a beautiful part of the world - The cottage is in a beautiful area surrounded by rainforest. A little creek runs right beside the cottage and it is very peaceful. Bed was extremely comfy. Plenty of extra blankets etc. Lovely verandah to sit outside. Great shower. Fire was set for us and extra wood supplied. Nothing really. The cottage is right at the front of the property with the owner’s driveway right next to it so it didn’t feel as secluded as I was expecting. Still very peaceful though. Cottage was a bit damp and musty but that’s what you get in a rainforest 😊
- Candice (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (7/5): Good -
- Mcdonald (7/5): Very relaxing . Lovely hike up to top of hill to see amazing view - Clean , neat and tidy . Conveniently located to the NRRT Sofa bed in lounge a bit uncomfortable for fifth guest

- Michele (8/5): Really lovely Thankyou - Everything was perfect and the hosts and communication and friendliness added to this lovely stay I suppose it’s a little rundown but everything worked and it’s rustic and good for the price
- Tony (10/5): Cute and Cosy Cottage - Loved the location for what we wanted this trip. The renovated cottage is practically in middle of beautiful pristine nowhere surrounded by forest trees. It is an easy drive and we found the property easily. The veranda with cosy couch and hammock was a perfect place to just switch off and listen to the bubbling stream and birds. Everything you could need was there, from kitchen to bathroom/laundry and throughout. Communication with hosts Rob and Gaily was great and always timely. A handy firewood replenishment was well used. The blankets provided were so thick and cosy you could cocoon yourself without a second thought. The temps were low so maybe an electric blanket option could be good for the cold months. The fireplace did well to warm the rooms within a few hours and it lasted well as we always enjoy a good fireplace stoking.
- Caroline (8/5): Lovely cottage in tranquil bush setting. - The location was wonderful for relaxing in a bush atmosphere. Taking the dog was a real treat. Difficult road to reach the cabin and go back and forth for food.
- Joanna (8/5): Very good - There was no breakfast. Nothing
- Julie (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Everything was fantastic. Clean, inviting and lovely fire place. Everything is thought of, everything provided for :) Nothing could be better, it was perfect :)
- Michael (10/5): A beautiful, quaint and cozy little cabin in the Tweed Valley - It was so cozy and quaint. In a beautiful spot and ample distance from neighbouring houses - it really felt secluded. Gaily, the host, was lovely and so accommodating. The location was perfect for a walk along the rail trail or to just remove yourself from the stressors of life. The fireplace was the crowning feature of the property and made the whole experience.
- Luigi (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (10/5): Shocked by how loverly it was, thanks its great to be surprised. - Secluded, beautiful location, easy to find. The house was totally brilliant, and equiped with everything you could need from ready chopped wood for the wood burner to tea, coffee, milk and cream in the fridge, tons of extra bedding, washing machine/drier, wonderful original art on the walls. What could be better than waking up to the call of Whip birds in the morning. Parking for several cars. A very special place. Nothing to dislike.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charman (9/5): Superb - The location, the quiet, the wonderful log burner fire. The sound of the creek while lying in bed.

- Caroline (9/5): Superb - Welcoming cottage in stunning country. Fell asleep to the sound of the creek. Well fitted out. The roads in can be a bit challenging.
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Vada (10/5): 💜STUNNING💜 - This place is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot think of anything negative about this place.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional - The cabin was fascinating... loved the woodwork and cosy fire. Great layout for families and friending town close by. Host was friendly and accommodating.
- Inês (8/5): Relaxing and fun. - The location is prime. Absolutely loved how quiet it is. Loved that you can hear the creek as you fall asleep. The natural light is also a plus, and areas are quiet large. We couldn’t believe how close this property is to all towns around like Murwillumbah, Uki and Mooball. Close to waterfalls and Hosanna farm as well. Definitely a good hidden gem. Everything was great. The owners were warm and welcoming, which is a plus.
- Ava (10/5): Cute cottage in beautiful lush location - Beautiful location surrounded by lush subtropical rainforest. Quiet stream flowed past the house. Really nice verandah and practical kitchen. Full laundry facilities and good sized bathroom with great shower. Charming local towns. Close to Pottsville. Very kind owner. That we didn’t stay longer :)
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iris (10/5): We had a fantastic time ☺️ -
- Nicholas (9/5): A perfect place for peace and quiet, as well as easy access to some of the most beautiful parts of the beautiful mountai - Idyllic location, nestled in rainforest near end of a beautiful 10 minute drive in from the nearest main road. Thoughtful details in the small house made a difference - good kitchen facilities including many little details, great verandah and garden, full washing/drying gear, good internet. Very quiet except for gentle sounds of birds and rain. Very comfortable. Hosts very attentive with messaging and assistance. Not much. Some quirky switches for lights and fans, and TV/streaming, not unexpected for a refurbished cottage. No Airconditioning but not needed; the fans were fine as the climate is mostly gentle, though humid.
- Štěpán (10/5): Exceptional - Good location, kitchen, washingmaschine etc… great place
- Veronika (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (9/5): Great location and a beautiful getaway. - A beautiful location only a few minutes off the highway - but could have been 100km away from it! A great sleep with rain crashing down outside.
- Sally (10/5): Our cozy cottage escape was just what we needed. Will definitely stay again. - The spring water was an absolute delight.
We relaxed on the porch and watched the rain fall, it was beautiful and peaceful.
We will definitely stay again. Xx
- Priscilla (9/5): I will do it all again in the future. - Loved the rainforest plants surrounding the cottage, sitting at the table in the back area having a bbq, chilling out on the front deck, A short drive to the gorgeous Hastings point headland, fresh local produce to purchase not far from the cottage, extremely friendly and delightful hosts. Our dog loved her mini getaway. It’s perfect the way it is and such good value.
- Pania (10/5): Loved the tranquil peaceful environment plus nature who could ask for more. - Self sufficient
Cozy
Peaceful ?????
- Roslyn (7/5): We booked the cottage to do the rail trail. The cottage worked well for this. - It was nice that basic supplies are on offer. Lovely, peaceful setting. The glass sliding doors and curtaining as a room divider in the main bedroom. Blinds and curtaining let in quite a bit of light.
- Gary76_101 (9/5): Superb - Peaceful and quiet. Massive big spider on the fireplace.. can't say me or my partner are fans of spiders, especially ones the size of my hand. But we managed and came out alive.
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and tidy, they have everything you need, the location is beautiful and perfect for a quiet weekend
- Graham (8/5): Very good - We chose the cottage for its proximity to the mid sections of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, the coast (Brunswick Heads), and the hinterland (Mullumbimby and Minyon Falls). The cottage is snug (adequate for four adults); clean, and comfortable. Our hosts, Rob and Gaily, were attentive (dropped in some firewood when the weather turned “cold “) but otherwise unobtrusive.
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Surrounded by nature, very cosy and comfortable
- Anita (10/5): Great spot to get away from the city lights and sounds. - Beautiful location. Quiet bush surroundings. Very relaxing on the verandah with the hammock. Short drive to the rail trail with a 15 minute walk to the tunnel - glow worms were worth the visit at night. Our daughter didn’t want to leave. Communication and access were great.
- Chloe (10/5): Loved it! - Loved the location, beautiful landscape and scenery. Very easy access and facilities. Satellite channels connected although couldn't access, even with provided instructions.
- Angela (10/5): Hidden gem! - So beautiful with lovely art work. Awesome fire and the host provided us with firewood and kindling. Will definitely stay again! ❤️❤️❤️ No bath
- Michelle (10/5): The hosts were extremely kind and considerate to every detail -
- Tanya (10/5): Loved it and definitely coming back. - It is isolated and beautiful.
- Ann (9/5): Great alternative place to stay if u want a night on the rail trail. Makes it a relaxing stay with a 11am check out! - We enjoyed a family cycle on the Rail Trail - cottage is only @ 6 km off trail along a very pretty , quiet valley road. No through road so not much traffic. Quaint, comfortable, quiet cottage with room for our group to sit out on the deck and eat, play cards at the indoor table. Good hot water supply and washing machine/ dryer was useful. Owner brought us a load of firewood. Just a large fry pan or wok would be useful! Otherwise plenty of kitchen utensils.
- Sarah (8/5): Relaxing mountain retreat surrounded by nature - Beautiful, secluded location. Loved listening to and watching the wildlife. Very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed relaxing in the hammock and eating our breakfast on the balcony with the birds. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We like firm mattresses, so the bed was a little soft for our liking. That said, we slept well and loved waking up to a beautiful outlook.
