It was perfect for relaxing on the deck of an evening with a glass of wine and a platter, and was even better for exercising of a morning looking out at the water!

It comprises of a master bedroom and a twin single bed bedroom. We travelled during winter. The beds are equipped with heated blankets. The heaters around the home keeps it very warm. There is a washing machine and dryer that we used. Detergent was provided too. Kitchen is fully equipped with really good quality cooking appliances. The view is spectacular and you will feel like you're in paradise. We got to see possums at night. A short walk to the jetty. The kids enjoyed their stay. They could run around the house. We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back !

A true home away from home with a little extra peace and serenity. Lovely host checks in with anything you need only too happy to help with local advice of places to visit and explore on the island. Thanks so much for providing this beautiful accommodation! Nothing
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - How Quiet it was and the view was great 😃 . Too much glass it got warm Maybe you could have a roof Or have some shade over the outside table.
- Bing (10/5): This place make our holiday very enjoyable - Absolutely a perfect place for holiday. Very nice view and super quiet. Rob and the family were very nice, provided everything. We will be back and stay as long as we can. Thanks Rob N/A
- Andrew (9/5): Highly recommended for a quiet getaway - The views from the back deck and living areas are wonderful. Friendly host (and equally friendly dog, well trained not to enter the unit) provided good directions. Many nice birds and some mammals seen on local walks. Though you must bring what you want to eat, this was made clear and a few items are provided. The building is a glasshouse and it was hot. Whilst air-conditioning such a space in southern Tasmania is probably overkill, a few ceiling fans could be good.
- Neil (10/5): A beautiful place to stay. - Located on the shores of a very tranquil Barne’s Bay with only the sounds of nature to accompany the water views. It is a truly stunning location! Nothing.
- Anne (10/5): A Slice of Paradise at Oyster Cottage. - As soon as you walk down the corridor and see the view through the house you know you are in a special place. Wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the best of nature. We had no trouble filling in 3 days on Bruny. The bed was comfortable, the whole place shone, it was great to have the washer and dryer. Just make sure you bring in all your food. The nearest supermarket or cafe is a long way away. It’s a long drive if you run out of milk. Don’t forget anything you might need. Plan carefully. Rob, the host is dedicated to making your stay a success. Try as I might I can’t think of a single thing that was missing. Ah I remember. No ladle for our soup but every other thing you need is there.
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful Memory for Life - I loved everything about the property. The property was located right on the ocean with the most amazing views. Rob the host was very welcoming and friendly, he couldn't do enough for us to make our stay a memorable one. I would highly recommend anyone staying here, the property is clean, fabulous sea views , great location and friendly host. All in all I dont think we could of chosen a nicer property, it was so beautiful. The property exceeded our expectations . I honestly don't have anything negative to say, we just really loved our time there and didn't want to leave.
- Martin (10/5): Excellent stay, great locale, not far to travel to sites, great host with Rob and Ollie for company - Location was great overlooking the inlet.
Plenty of wildlife and to wake up to bird song made it even better Throw in a spa Rob !
- Mark (10/5): Highly recommend to others! - A Slice of Paradise perfectly describes this accommodation. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The location was incredibly picturesque and peaceful. So much so that it was sad to leave after our six night stay! We saw a small pod of dolphins swim into the inlet in front of our accommodation and a seal playing just off the jetty at the end of the street. Nothing! It was perfect!!
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Was quiet, peaceful. Great location. Felt very well rested.
- Nikki (7/5): Good -
- Hadley (10/5): Comfortable and cosy with a fantastic view, highly recommended a stay at A Slice of Paradise - Property was beautiful and well maintained. Very comfortable and the window walls with double glazed windows allowed for a view with warmth or a nice breeze with the sliding doors.
Had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. We had a lovely time here and Rob very accommodating, checking in to see if all was ok. And Olive was a very welcome visitor and just loved the attention Can’t think a of a single thing.
- Deborah (10/5): Amazing peace of serenity - A gorgeous slice of paradise. Thank you Rob and Ollie.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vincent (8/5): Very good -
- Suej68 (7/5): Quiet and pleasant view - Nice and quiet, the view is pleasant and the apartment was spacious enough. The second bedroom was locked, there was an iron, but no ironing board and although there was a clothes dryer…which is a plus, there’s no clothes horse for clothes I prefer not to dry in a dryer. I particularly booked this as it had a washing machine, something you may wish to consider adding.
- Allen (9/5): Superb -
- Harry (9/5): Superb - The location is superb. Tranquil and quiet right next to the water. Host, Rob checked to see everything was okay. plenty of space inside the cottage. Would thoroughly recommend!
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mccloghry (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful accommodation in secluded bay. Immaculately presented with good host. Nothing

- David (9/5): Very enjoyable stay in a wonderful spot - We were looking for something quiet and peace so it was the perfect property in a perfect location for us Didn’t catch any fish But as one of the locals explained ‘ It’s called fishing not catching’
- Ian (10/5): Barnes bay. Touch of paradise perfect. - Was just a wonderful place. Quiet, peaceful, Rob, terrific host, and Ollie too. 15mins to the ferry. Modern facilities, couldn't fault it. Do yourself a favor, book as soon as you can Nothing
- Openpathway (9/5): A place to treat yourself - Lovely as shown in the photos with all that glass and view of the water. High end kitchen fittings and extras in the pantry. 9 am checkout is a bit too early, but Rob at least allowed us to leave at 9:30. Toilet area could use a night light.
- Julius (8/5): Very good - No Wifi
- Carolyn (9/5): We loved this property; it was relaxing, scrupulously clean and suited us perfectly. - Great outlook over the water, very tranquil. The layout of the house has been well thought out and suited the four of us perfectly.
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic host. Absolutely stunning location and views. True Bruny experience.
We loved it.
- Amy (10/5): relaxing, beautiful - the views and comfortable, spacious home nothing!
- Francis (10/5): Set in a beautiful spot with Barnes bay as our backyard. -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything X
- Charlotte (9/5): Very peaceful stay on Bruny North island. - Beautiful view over the sea inlet. Very peaceful. Excellent facilities. Very comfortable. Warm hospitality from host who lives on site. Minor point. It happened to be very cold when we were there. We found the dining area was quite cold and more difficult to heat. The main kitchen and living space had an excellent heater and (air conditioner if it had been hot. )
- Valerie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Smith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Slarkie (10/5): BEST SPOT ON BARNES BAY - North Bruny or South Bruny? We experienced both & A Slice of Paradise was definitely the BEST! Plenty of space, kitchen well equiped with great utensils - all knives sharp - plenty of goodies in the store cupboards & fridge. Rob had recenly renovated & the place was immaculate.
Underfloor heating was very cosy
Great water outlook & not far from the boat ramp
Knockout place - highly recommended Everything was spot on
- Kevin (10/5): Fabulous stay in scenic location - Excellent accommodation in a quiet, scenic location. Stunning views from both inside and outside of house on water's edge. Hospitality and friendliness of Rob(host) was exceptional. Nothing, we would have loved to stay longer.
- Mark (9/5): Magnificent location, quality amenities, fully self-contained, on the water's edge, truly beautiful. - Beautiful self contained home right on the water's edge with magnificent views of the bay and the forest on the other side and the yachts moored so close. A truly tranquil location within easy reach of everything that Bruny Island has to offer. Everything you need for a self contained stay is there - cuttlery, plates, cookware, high quality appliances, heating/airconditioning, comfortable large couches, TV with access to net based movie entertainment, hardwood floors, outside decking with table and chairs, lawn area and more. We loved everything and at home we are spoilt for a King size double bed. A King sized double bed would have been extra perfect!
- Rowena (10/5): Exceptional - The beautiful and peaceful location. The accommodation was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. Couldn't have asked for more.
- Garry (10/5): ultimate tassie getaway a real treat - lovely out look , comfortable everything you need to relax and recharge, great helpful host with happy friendly dog to play with. didn’t like packing and leaving wishing a longer stay
- Carol (9/5): Serene, tranquil and a soft place to land. - One of the most picturesque places we've stayed in. The newly renovated cottage is magnificent. Extremely spacious and comfortable. Underfloor heating a bonus. Rob is a great host....thanks for the salmon and the laughs!! Some bedside lamps would be good.
