Guest Reviews
- Ana Snjezana (10/5): Excellent location and excellent property! - Excellent location and excellent property! Very comfortable house with absolutely everything that you may need. Perfect for exploring Barossa Valley. Highly recommended! Everything was perfect!
- Louise (10/5): - Location
Very comfortable lots of room
Everything we needed
Jim and his family and staff were amazing!! Nothing
- Hazel (10/5): -
- Tonya (10/5): -
- Humphries (8/5): - 2 bathrooms, overall living space, location
Good kitchen facilities and very clean Beds were hard, but we got used to them.
Traffic noise
- Martin (10/5): Perfect 10/10 and very central for wine trailing, in any direction. - The space! Having the whole house to ourselves. Very well equipped. Plenty of plates, cutlery, glasses and extras, even food wrap. Two lounges. Two bathrooms. Books & games. Large table and seating outside under the veranda with a Barbeque. We enjoyed the walk up the paths to the lookout where the stunning views over the whole area were well worth the effort. Walking down to the Restaurant where Jim and his staff treated us like VIPs (thanks Jim & Chris). The Restaurant lunch was exceptional. Perfect menu for everyone’s taste. Well done to the Chef! It was about a 20 minute walk down the hill (but a bit longer going back up) to the Main Street where there are plenty of eateries and other shops. There was nothing we didn’t like, in fact Lambert Estate Retreat was very hard to fault and we are fussy.
- Scott (9/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): Excellent location and well equipped comfortable property. Also restaurant was excellent - Friendly staff at Winery Nothing
- Kathleen (9/5): Too short a time - wish we had longer to really enjoy the property. - Lambert Estate Retreat is a lovely old home that has all the comforts you need. There is ample comfortable seating areas, good heating both through air con and gas wood look heaters. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and there are two larger size bathrooms. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
- Rhonda (9/5): Wonderful comfortable stay with friends. - the privacy of the property was wonderful.
The beds were amazing and kitchen facilities were great. The fruit trees needed some TLC. The water pressure was not great and the hot water took along time to come through.
- Malcolm (8/5): Cleaner needs training in customer service. - Very clean and comfortable. We pre arranged for a 11am check out. I said twice are you sure it will be ok, which I was told don’t worry it’s fine. The cleaner turned up at 10.25am and said we need to go. I told her we have arranged to stay till 11am. The cleaner then harassed us multiple times asking how much longer. She even came to our door, opened it and said well, how much longer, you’re pressing me for time. She even asked my wife how much longer when she didn’t like my answer. When we said we’ll be another 15 minutes, she finally said she’ll get a coffee at the winery. It’s a shame because up until that, we couldn’t fault Lambert Estate.
- Lyn (10/5): Relaxing - location is good , close to Angaston .
Beds were comfortable
Platter at the winery was great There was some cob webs on the windows in the bathrooms
The wardrobe in one of the bedrooms with a queen bed is not practical as the hanging space is way too high .
- Tessa (9/5): Fabulous stay at Lambert, and will absolutely be back to stay next time we visit the Barossa! - Location was fabulous and the house was very comfy and warmed up easily by the heating and gas fireplaces. The beds were comfy and the place was clean and cosy. The hosts were fabulous at Lambert Estate Vineyard as were the staff at the cellar door, accommodating our party for a late afternoon wine tasting on short notice. Their recommendations for nearby attractions and food were also fabulous! It would have been helpful for key collection to have been from a lockbox at the accom, to avoid having to drive to the Vineyard cellar door to collect them. We were running behind schedule on arrival but thankfully someone was still going to be at the cellar door to give us the keys :)
The back patio area could use a small amount of landscaping and perhaps a fire pit or outdoor heater, not that it was a problem by any means, but the view over the vineyards and of the sunset was so beautiful that it could be enhanced even further by the outdoor area being a little more inviting :)
- Robyn (10/5): Highly Recommend, Wonderful Stay - We loved every minute of our stay. The house was exceptionally clean, the beds super comfy and the kitchen well equipped, we even found Vegemite in the cupboard, bonus. A hop, skip and jump from Lambert Estate Cellar Door and Restaurant which again was sensational. We were very lucky to have stayed when they had entertainment on the Saturday night, so much fun. Kurt and Vanessa the owners are so delightful and made us feel very special. Nothing
- Anne (9/5): Lovely old home in great location. - Lovely spacious old home. Very well equipped in all areas & comfortable. Heating was excellent. Great to have good reading lamps in all rooms. Nothing.

- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (10/5): Loved it - It was central to everything. Large and had everything you need in one place. Nestled amongest the vines Mattress where hard.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Great location with charm and great facilities - Lots of character, spacious and well appointed. The two reception areas and outdoor space provide options for a larger group. The smaller sitting room was cosy with nice recliner sofas. Nice big kitchen and laundry. Having two full size bathrooms means no queues!
The location is on a main road but still quiet with easy access to Angaston. Lots of parking and surrounded by vines.
A really great place to base yourself to explore the Barossa.
Being part of the Lambert estate means discounts were offered on dining etc. The food was excellent and a nice setting. Nothing
- Kristie (10/5): Perfect as always. - Perfect location and comfortable for the family to stay in. Nothing!
- Mel (10/5): Wonderful time with friends! - Spaciousness, comfort and heating. Nothing
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Everything you need for a comfortable stay - especially with young children, nice view of sunset Bedrooms being close to main road & no tele in bedroom
- Darren (10/5): A great place to stay and explore the Barossa! - The house was excellent, well presented, clean and all the amenities
- Kristie (9/5): Fabulous! Clean, comfortable and great location. - Location, clean, spacious. The lounges and fires are fabulous. Beds nice and big and comfy. Two new bathrooms are great. Lovely to wake up to the birds and see the wallabies in the vineyards. We’ll definitely be back. One loud, squeaky floorboard that was impossible to avoid in the middle of the night.
- Julie (10/5): Excited to return! - Very spacious with separate utility room with laundry facilities. Great outdoor area overlooking the Lamberts estate vineyard. We will definitely be staying there again as we have family in Angaston. Nothing!
- Sophie (6/5): Nice , clean and large house in a lovely location - Location was lovely , house was clean .. would’ve preferred to have keys on premises and didn’t get a reply to my question email. Condiments and kitchen facilities were very low, I think more effort in that area would’ve been appreciated. Not enough condiments and more info on what we needed to bring would’ve helped. House is lovely and clean but mosquitos were a problem with no repellant or shops open
- Salli (8/5): Lovely,quiet and relaxing -
- Deborah (9/5): Great home on the winery - Big home with all the essentials for a great stay . Close to Angaston ( walk into town ) but car essential for visiting wineries. A bit far from Tanunda ( car essential) and no covered carpark area
- Lyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emcath (10/5): Wonderful stay in a spacious home - The retreat was in a perfect location to explore Barossa, whether you're wanting to go to wineries, explore the townships or both. The retreat itself is incredibly spacious which is great for a family or a group of friends, with all the amenities you could need for a long weekend away. The Lambert family were very hospitable and if you have the chance, book in for a delicious lunch at the winery! Keep an eye out for kangaroos between the vines too!
- Skye (8/5): Ideal place to stay in the heart of the Barossa Valley. - Location was fantastic. Right in the heart of the Barossa. Very central to shops. Beds were very comfy. Ideal place to stay for a family. Would have been ideal if keys were placed in a lock box on site instead of having to pick up from seperate property but that is a minor issue.
- John (9/5): Superb - Very very comfortable and relaxing Nil
- Elisabeth (8/5): We spent two days in the Barossa visiting friends, having lunch at the winery and listening to the band, ‘Key Grip’. - The location near Lambert’s Winery.
The very wide King sized bed.
The modern bathroom.
Excellent kitchen. There could be more landscaping around the house. The vineyards are lovely, but the immediate surrounds could be improved.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - Not applicable
- Judy (9/5): Excellent - Location was great, easy to get to everywhere we needed to go Recycling seemed non existent at the property. Not sure if that was peculiar to the area though
- Robert (9/5): Great place to stay for a few days as it is close to all of Barossa. - Location, air conditioning, room and bed size, cleanliness and facilities. Missing some items. No tea towels in kitchen. No complimentary wine that was supposed to be there. ( but this was rectified when we checked out).
- Steven (9/5): fantastic but not long enough -
- Hayley (8/5): Very good -
- Annie (8/5): A lovely, spacious house with everything you need - We really appreciated the quality furnishings and the convenient location. The star show at night from the back verandah was sensational. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the oven to work at all (even though I used the switch on the wall.
We also found the master king bed was way too firm for us. Probably my fault, because I have arthritis in my hips and lower back.
- Annabel (9/5): Handy and comfortable place to call home for our visit to the area - Very comfortable and home like. Loved the gas log fire. The outlook including birds & kangaroos were delightful. Very easy to get to other Barossa towns. Pillows we’re hard
- Kaniya (8/5): Very good -
- Freda (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Gards78 (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (9/5): Relaxing and enjoyable - Spacious and comfortable
- Jill (5/5): Passable -
- Geoff (9/5): Superb -
- Juliette (10/5): as above, great position, spacious home. - Great space, amongst the vines, was very clean and had everything you needed. Do a wine tasting/ lunch at Lamberts, great staff and experience. nil
- Conrad (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (6/5): A bit pricey but you pay for the location - Comfy beds Sqeeky floorboards coffee 6 months out of date
- Cj (9/5): Superb -
- Mauro (8/5): Very comfortable, excellent location - Beds are up against the windows, not a good idea.
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Very good - Location
Angaston
Lambert Winery
Their port Not much.
- Duke (6/5): Great house and location, serenity now! Way short on finer details of cleanliness. - What breakfast? Cleanliness, appeared clean and tidy on first impressions. BBQ was filthy, filth inside cupboards, found white tip spiders in the bedroom when going to bed. Further examination found spiderwebs everywhere and massive amounts of fluff and dirt behind and under wardrobes.
- Justine (10/5): Exceptional - House was well appointed and large. 2 bathrooms were a bonus. Very clean and easy to access all the Barossa had to offer. Would stay again and highly recommend.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Laraine (9/5): Great location for a holiday break. - Quiet location, great for access to the Barossa wineries. Large house with all facilities and well stocked. Had lovely meal at the Lambert estate. Great area for birdwatching and even saw some kangaroos! Bonus. Really no complaints.
- Celeste (8/5): Lovely getaway to enjoy all the wonderfull sights, food & wine in the Barossa Valley! - Was absolutely lovely sitting out on the back porch, and listening to wide range of birdlife. Especially the laughing kookaburras. Fireplace gas heater in the lounge room was wonderfully warm & cosy in the cool evenings for watching tv and reading books. Having two full bathrooms was great for us 3 ladies to share, very advantageous for families with kids. Providing "The Chocolatier" fortified wine in a decanter for us to try was a lovely touch. Smooth and delicious, we all bought some at the cellar door. We also had a wine tasting prior to having a scrumptious dinner at the cellar door on the Friday night. My favourite red was the Temperanillo, which paired perfectly with the garlic bread, pepperoni pizza & pork bao buns for dinner. Can't wait to come back again! Just a few little maintenance items that will be easily remedied. A couple of items in the kitchen cupboard under the sink are due to be replaced, such as the broken fly swatter (3/4 of the top part is missing, but I still managed to kill a fly with it hehe!) and the old, dirty scourer sponge. The kitchen mixer tap is coming loose from the sink and only cold water is running from the tap (even when running the water on "hot" for 5 minutes). Would be best to get a licensed plumber to have a look at this. There were also little cobwebs at the base of the bathroom windows that need to be removed. The rest is fabulous!
- Suzukawa (7/5): Good - The house was nice, spacious and clean inside. The cleaners forgot to empty the outside bins, and we could not stay under the verandah because of the terrible smell. It was a pity, but I am sure it is a one-off mistake they will now be careful not to make again.
- Alison (9/5): We have a lovely stay! - spacious, ducted aircon, fireplace, 2 cute Roos no makeup remover provided when mentioned specifically, heating in oven is uneven and slow, no gas in bbq
- Deirdre (9/5): Superb - Huge property, heaps of room for our group of four. Great location, very close to Angaston which has a supermarket and plenty of cafes. Weather was a bit chilly but the house has great heating. Would love to come back again when the sun is shining!!
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Lauren (9/5): Superb - Great house, big and well appointed
- Michael (10/5): Excellent! - Location was great. The house was very roomy, and nicely appointed. Hosts were very obliging, and generous with their time, even when we arrived quite a bit later than we had indicated. Kirk and the team were great. . Only that I couldn't stay for a week.
- Lauren (9/5): Superb - Set among some vineyards allowed for lots of birds and kangaroos to be seen
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Friendly hosts and a wonderful place to stay in the barossa - Location was great, very easy access to the rest of the Barossa while being very quiet and peaceful. The property was very nice, had ample space and parking, and everything was presented beautifully. On top of this the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.
- Trish (10/5): Exceptional - The house was large enough to fit our group.
It was good having the extra bathroom. .
- Kenneth (9/5): Great location and outlook, Convenient to Barossa Valley towns and attractions. -
- Jon (9/5): Superb -
