Guest Reviews
- Geoff (9/5): As above - The location was perfect, very suitable for visitors to Perth or like us who know WA very well. Everything is so close to the CBD, one of the best areas in Perth, Kings Park is just over the road, close to cafes, restaurants etc.
Would recommend staying at 1 Colin Road without hesitation. Dish washer needs looking at, no other dislikes.
- Marcus (10/5): Comfortable heritage home on fringe of CBD. Highly recommended! - Location is great, close to city but sufficiently quiet to forget that you are in the middle of town. It's a really nice heritage property, bed is comfortable, there is a decent kitchen, washer and drier, and off-street parking too, which was a bonus for me with a rental car. Highly recommended, I look forward to staying there again next time I go to Perth. No material criticisms.
- Janine (9/5): Charming home - Communication was excellent. We were able to check in a little earlier which we appreciated.
There is a dedicated car parking space next to the home.
The cleaner picked roses from the garden and placed them in small vases in several rooms.
It is a quiet, comfortable home close to Kings Park. Perhaps there could be some shelves / small cupboard next to the fridge which would be handy to use as a guest pantry.
- Carol (8/5): Great stay and thank you.🌻😀 - Location perfect for us. Close to town and cafes.
- Viet (10/5): The host is so nice and helpful. - Location None
- Sharon (10/5): - Location was very good. Close to bus and shops Nothing
- Christiane (9/5): - Maison confortable avec son petit jardin
La proximité avec le centre ville étais parfaite
- Heather (8/5): A great stay in a fantastic location, comfortable, convenient, and pet-friendly! - We really enjoyed our Short Stay. The place was super comfortable and in an amazing spot, right across from Kings Park and the Koorak Café. The local tips were really handy, and the little garden was perfect for our small dog. Parking was easy too. It was a bit noisy early morning.
- Luke G (10/5): -
- Shahreen (10/5): -
- Fook (2/5): Very poor - Location Cleanliness and need new mattress, especially the 1st floor
- Jacqueline (10/5): Sort stay in old world charm - An old style gem, full of character surrounded by modern facilities. The rooms were very generous and the location was fantastic, close to Kings Parks and a short walk to the coffee shops on Hay Street West end.
- Michael (9/5): Roland met us and introduced the fine old colonial cottage . Comfortable modern conveniences - Location, Location, Location should have stayed longer
- Raeleigh (8/5): Very convenient location and good value. Very responsive and helpful hosts. - The location was excellent and the bedrooms were large. Lovely comfortable beds.
The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Very clean. The upstairs bedrooms were hot and would need air conditioning or an evaporative cooler to make them more comfortable, especially in Perth summer temps. If aircon added upstairs would definitely book again.
- Janelle (8/5): Loved the features of the house and location was ideal. Highly recommend. - The location is excellent and the CAT bus is just across the road which makes access to the city very easy. The property is clean and well presented. The hosts also provided additional battery operated lighting when there was a an unadvertised power outage due to local works in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. The upstairs area of the house was quite warm on the really hot days.
- Mac (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (10/5): I am congratulating myself on making such a great choice ! - No meals were provided but tea and coffee, milk and sugar supplies were thoughtfully supplied. The kitchen was adequate for holiday needs and the whole cottage and all its amenities were exceptionally clean. The huge plus was the great location and ambience of the cottage itself. Charming and a little bit quirky. Nothing not to like.
- Mark (9/5): Great apartment right on Kings Park - Perfect location for Kings Park, 15 minute walk in the the CBD restaurants. Cool, quiet and comfortable.
- Bev (10/5): We were very pleased with the property and the owners and we would stay there again for sure. - The location was excellent for our needs. It is right across the street from Kings Park, minutes away from the CBD, and bus routes very close so we never had to walk more than we wanted to. When we had a problem with the WiFi we contacted the owners and it was looked into immediately and a solution was quick. Tom was a gem! With the bus routes so close there was some noise, which is to be expected, but certainly tolerable as they do not run all night.
- Kim (9/5): Superb - Great location No a/c upstairs
- Renae (10/5): Pink Triathlon week end - This cute little federation house has so much history. The house was perfect for our needs. A family of 5 we comfortably enjoyed our stay. There was nothing to Dis like. The house is a Phenomenal part of the history of West Perth.
- Sunny (6/5): The location is amazing!! Loved the free public transport. The lack of cleanliness was a concern and I have advised the - The location of the house is amazing - there are 3 different free TransPerth CAT buses within 150metres and 2 across the road. Very convenient to get into the city and to other train stations. Excellent.
The homey touches were lovely. The house is 126 years old and quaint. Having a garden and green grass is lovely in the city environment.
The house can sleep 8 easily which is good when you have a large family. Comfort level of the beds were ok.
Handy to have a washing machine. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed in the general cleanliness of the house and particularly the bedding/sheets which did not appear to have been clean or changed. We actually washed the sheets and mattress protectors before sleeping in them.
The floors were not vacuumed or clean either.
There needs to be some repairs undertaken to make some sections of the house safe. And the house requires a pest control inspection. We did advise the owner of this matter.
- Ann (7/5): we had a good stay and the bedrooms were clean, the location was spot on for local transport. - This cottage was in an ideal location for bus to anywhere in Perth, the stops being on the door step. The cottage was comfy and plenty of space. The shower and washer/drier was great . Some of the furniture was very old and would have been better without it, and the kitchen could have been a bit cleaner.
- Yahuza (10/5): everyting is superb, may be able to increase the number of toilets & bathrooms. thank you - location is great, room, facility toilet and bathroom just only one, but capacity of home is 8 pax
- Lynette (9/5): Cute cottage in great location & value for money 👏👏 - Location was perfect for CBD areas. Bus transport stops were very close. Quaintness of property made it special.
- Khay (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the house is superb, walking distance to multiple CAT bus stops and stone throw away from the Kings Park.
The house is very well suited for family and group of friends.
It is quiet at night. The bathroom, laundry and toilet are in the same room is a slight inconvenient.
- Kimberley (7/5): Perfect for the function we were attending in Kings Park. - Great location. Extremely quiet. The bathroom /toilet are very small. A little more attention to detail with the cleaning would be good.
- Thepprasit (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryle (1/5): Bad -
- Bondy57 (9/5): Great place to stay as very central. Would stay again. - The location. It was perfect for our needs with a CAT bus stop directly across the street and another one around the corner. Walking distance into the city and a stones throw from the beautiful Kings Park. Loved the ambience of the old house. The hosts were friendly and informative. My bed was so comfortable and my sister said hers was the same. Would love to know more of the history of the place as it was the only building of its age amidst modern buildings. Thanks Roland and Peter. The bathroom. Very tight squeeze to get out of the shower due to the washing machine being in front. Difficult when you are staying with family members and one is in the shower and the other may want to use the toilet as the toilet was in the same room and even though it had its own door you had to step into the bathroom/laundry to get to it. The house could host 8 people but I wouldn't like to have that many with only one toilet. The family I stayed with were my sister and brother in law and I'm sure he didn't want to see me naked! LOL. Nor I him for that matter.
- Jb (10/5): Exceptional location, great ambience - Great location, right next to kings park. The house is surrounded mostly by work building so it is very quiet at night.
Walking distance to cbd, free cat bus stop just opposite the house. The landlord is very friendly and caring. 5 stars. Nothing. All good.
- Abhinav (10/5): Exceptional - Peter was very friendly and helpful!
- Kimberley (8/5): Cute Cottage - Great little cottage in a great location. Has everything you need for a stay.
- Aleisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Super good staycation - Great location, comfy and cosy, excellent hospitality, free car park available and worth for money Nothing
