Guest Reviews
- Kathleen (10/5): owners provided more than we expected with their thoughtful little touches, making it a peaceful, comfortable stay. - Very clean & comfortable. Amazing views, from the comfy lounges on the back verandah, firewood, filtered coffee machine, tea, hot choc all provided was a lovely touch & well received. So peaceful & quiet. Nothing
- Belinda (10/5): Great proprerty, the host really ensured everything was thought. We would definitely return again - We really enjoyed the property and how quiet the location offered. Very peaceful and really felt like it was a home away from home.

- Felicity (8/5): Cosy country-style cottage with beautiful tree-filled outlook - The house was much cuter in real life than the photos depict, so we were very happy when we saw it. The garden and outlook was lovely and we enjoyed the visiting wallabies, a hare, and a couple of possums that came close to us on the deck both nights, which was a lovely surprise. Everything was super clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with anything you'd need in terms of utensils and things like mosquito coils. The cost was high for just me and my friend, but Maleny had limited choice for what we needed when we booked, but it would be more value for money if you booked for the number of people the property sleeps. There's a really nice energy in the property, and we'd happily come back in cooler weather. The heat that gets captured in the upstairs rooms makes it pretty unpleasant to spend time up there or sleep (the standing fan was on me full blast all night, which was noisy), even when we kept the doors and windows open all day and the fans on to release some of it. There really needs to be better ventilation to allow the crosswinds to move through the rooms, and if this isn't possible, an air con is needed. The upstairs bed was too soft for me, but that's a personal preference.

- Bonnie (9/5): Stunning location, very thoughtful hosts! - The hosts added beautiful little touches that made the welcome and whole stay very sweet! The view was absolutely stunning and the deck is the perfect place to enjoy mealtimes, sundowners and boardgames. The whole house was very clean and spacious! It was very hot, plenty of fans provided but unless you have all the doors and windows open (and letting the mozzies in) by mid morning it was very stuffy.
Not a "didn't like" just a suggestion - baby gate provided at top of stairs which was amazing at night and when using the upstairs area, but one at the bottom would also be great as we had to keep an eye on the little guy whenever we were downstairs as all he wanted to do was go up and down the stairs.

- Anonymous (10/5): Special occasion birthday with family was truly enjoyable staying at this lovely country house. - The wonderful views of surrounding hills, the deck with BBQ and comfortable lounging and dining furniture, the lounge inside with fireplace, plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to spread out with the family. Good kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, delightful grounds with many trees, herb garden and citrus trees, wildlife - birds especially. Perhaps a few more small side plates.
- Susan (9/5): we had a really lovely relaxing time for a special occasion birthday. - it is so very comfortable and functional and very well appointed. We cooked up a feast and had every Utensil that we needed. The gardens are lovely to stroll through as well. Lots of lovely places to sit and breathe the mountain air. The fireplace is wonderful too. nothing

- Reena (10/5): we had such a lovely stay with our two dogs, the house really felt like we were going home. - The house was so homely & had warming personal touches throughout. we felt like we had gone home to visit family, it was so welcoming. we loved that our two small dogs were able to stay inside for us & that the home owners had included pet items for them too. including bowls, beds, toys & even treats.
- Diane (9/5): Great holiday in a beautiful environment. - Views were amazing and food, sweets left for us were appreciated. Well stocked kitchen.
Loved the peace and tranquility Rooms upstairs were hot at night.
It appears that there needs to be some maintenance on windows, doors, taps. Downstairs shower head leaks. Towels are worn and tatty.

- Allison (10/5): A great 👍 place to stay for a restful visit, could recommend to friends. - The provided tea and coffee, milk and other foods were great.
Driveway plants overgrown scratching our cars.
Doors not closing properly and banging open during the night.
The wall damaged at top of staircase due to missing gate stopper, this damaged and stopper missing prior to our arrival.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -

- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Recently had three excellent nights at Ruddles Retreat. Was very easy to find and very tranquil location. My little one had a great time exploring the grounds and the child-gate for the upstairs was much appreciated. We had an issue pop up and Stuart was extremely responsive and went above and beyond in looking to resolve it. Would definitely look to stay here again next time I'm in Maleny.
- Nicholas (9/5): Wonderful and relaxing stay. Very friendly and responsive host. - Amazing views. Secluded and peaceful. Abundant bird life. Very well equipped house.
- Periklis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (9/5): A relaxing stay that catered to all our needs. - Great location. Quiet area but a short drive to nearby town which could cater to all our needs. Not really.
- David (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent. The raised deck was huge and offered an unspoilt view. Kitchen amenities were great including a breadmaker!!
- Michelle (9/5): I love staying there and the peace and birdsong is lovely. So nice to be able to take my little dog. - I am sorry, but I slept in the downstairs bedroom and to help out I stripped the sheets off the bed when I was leaving. The mattress protector and the duvet were both stained and dirty. I was surprised but maybe the owner is not aware of this. That is the only thing I could fault.
