Guest Reviews
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Deann (9/5): A lovely place to stay for a quiet family get away. - The property was large, comfortable and inviting, a home away from home. The large, enclosed yard was great for the dogs.
- Pozzy Dons (9/5): - Clean and comfortable with old world charm. Loved the gardens and verandah and the fact we could bring the dogs. The bathroom was functional but could do with updating
- Kathy (9/5): Overall a very comfortable stay - Great location. Quant cottage. Nice outdoor areas It was difficult to be quiet going to the toilet at night as floorboards very creaky.
- Kim (8/5): Comfortable, clean and good value for money - Great location in Maryborough- central to shops and parkland.
- Catherine (10/5): fabulous - The old miner's cottage was quirky and a genuine home from home. We loved it and it suited all our needs. We loved the retro step back in time. We fell in love with the cottage and would have stayed another week if it had been available. Please don't change anything. The whole house was lovely but the kitchen crockery, pans and cutlery was limited and could do with an upgrade or adding to. We purchased a small set set to supplement our needs. but this more of a suggestion than criticism.
- catherine (7/5): - The location was close to the main shopping centre. A very quaint home. There was some building rubbish in the back yard.
- Diane (10/5): - I had a lovely relaxing stay with my dog. The area is very quiet. The front and back yards are fully enclosed for dogs. The cooling was fine in the 40 degree weather and the bed was super comfy. Maryborough is just gorgeous and I'm glad I got to stay in a miners cottage. I would like to win lotto and buy this cottage. I hope to come back, thank you.
- Gael (8/5): Great for a quiet relax inside or out. - Really comfortable. Anything you needed was available. Quirky combination of vintage and Anko furnishings that works.
Great for dogs. Security of 2 sets of gates. Huge shady yard to explore. Able to section of back room at night for sleeping.
Photos of Sassy keeping an eye on humans inside. Nothing.
- Candace (8/5): Great Stay - Location, comfortable and relaxing cottage Few things needs maintenance
- Ben (9/5): - Fantastic location within easy walking distance to Princes Park.
- richard (6/5): -
- Gail (10/5): Most enjoyable - Very comfortable and attractive accommodation for our needs I think a pillow upgrade would be good
- Melissa (10/5): - Perfectly suited to our needs. Debbie was very accomodating and communication was great.
- Chris (8/5): Perfect accommodation for either a short or long stay in Maryborough. - Good location. Very quiet. Comfortable and cosy. Spacious.
- Kathleen (7/5): Nice for a short stay. - Location was lovely. Close to the main street and shops. It is an old house, so understandably it could do with a bit of work done to it. Some alterations have been made outside but there are piles of dangerous building material that need to be removed. Also there was a very loud dog barking both nights (annoying but cant be helped I guess) and one of the double beds was very squeaky.
- Nicola (10/5): - Very easy
- Hugo (9/5): A comfy home for my short stay. - Nice and clean, and very comfortable home. The chocolates and wine were a lovely surprise.
- Steve (8/5): -
- justine (10/5): Homely and a cosy little cottage - It felt very homely and the chocolate and wine was a lovely touch. Nothing
- Barbara (8/5): - The house had everything you needed. Electric blankets , kitchen had all the appliances, nice living spaces and close to town centre. 0
- Gail (10/5): Relaxing - Very cute cottage well equipped .Beds very comfortable and wine and chocolate was a very sweet surprise Would have loved more time there
- Jayne (8/5): - Great location, comfortable clean and everything you need. Was able to take dogs Nothing it was great value for money
- Vair (9/5): A cosy cottage with all you need, just lacking in tidiness and some TLC outside. - So cosy and beautifully decorated and the welcoming of wine, chocolate and the heater on. The dirty floor, dirty light switches and dirty door handles.
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (8/5): A really enjoyable stay π - The cottage was cosy & comfortable with very adequate facilities. It suited my family to a tee. Debra is very accommodating & flexible. It is in a really central location & walking distance to shops etc The cottage is starting to reach a stage where it is in need of some urgent exterior repairs. Some cleaning could do with
more attention. e.g. dust; exhaust fan above stove; windows.
- Geoffrey (7/5): The cottage was charming with lots of space, just needs some TLC. - Great space close to town. After travelling for 5 days we appreciated the use of the washing machine and dryer. The wine and chocolates provided was a lovely touch. The cottage has a lot of charm that would be greatly enhanced by some maintenance particularly outside.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherri (8/5): Very good -
- Raelene (9/5): Superb -
- Mervi (9/5): Superb - This was our 3rd stay and we love that it's pet friendly and close to town. The backyard is great for our dog and very secure.
- David (6/5): Comfortable and adequate for needs. Good value. - Wine and chocolate were nice touches. Property clean and tidy. Much better than staying in a motel room for three nights Low door sills. Tired condition of the place.
- Guy (8/5): Guy melon - Heater, porch, dinning area , lounge room area and had great hot water never ran out massive back yard overall had a relaxing weekend there just a few minor things that could be better but apart from that really enjoyed the stay π The bed was uncomfortable made alot of noise too
And didn't like how the shower was in the bathtub
And the house had an odd musky smell to it maybe try and air it out more
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Glenn (9/5): Superb - Great location. Comfortable. Dogs enjoyed the yard and the freedom compared to motels or camping.
Had everything we needed Nothing.
- Sonja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sabella (7/5): A much needed rest stop which both I and my dog truly enjoyed. - Cute convenient comfortable Need for some repairs & updated facilities
- Rhys (8/5): Cosy and comfortable with everything we needed - Cosy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay Only feedback we could give was that the fridge was to small but not an issue at all for our short stay
- Sandy (10/5): Exceptional - Hi, the accomadation was perfect and just what was needed to accomadate us for the two day training event. I arrived on Sunday and my work colleguege arrived on Monday. I have a large dog who travels with me and the back yard was PERFECT. The cottage was clean and facilitys although older were well kept. Everything was there for us to have a cooked meal, not far from the town center, a great location all round, training was 3mins away my dog sitter was 2mins away. Would definitely book again. Not that I did not like but in the middle of the night on Monday night there was a huge bang both of us got up and did not know the cause. (Bit unsure and scarie) two women.
On getting up the heavy plaque above the fire place in the dinning area had fallen down of wall.
Also TV πΊ signal not great π Possitive.....
Gets you out walking
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - My Mum and I are both from Maryborough but we moved to Adelaide 8y ago so it's nice to come back and see family, we were really happy to find a nice place we could have our dogs and feel safe leaving them there when we went out. The beds were comfy and on our first day it was great to come back to a air-conditioned house after the 39Β° day. Only thing I will say is when it got quite windy the second night the front windows would bang, so we put a bit of paper in it but you get things like that with the age of the house.
- Adam (10/5): Always a delight - Always an absolute delight to stay here. We love the town so much we are buying a house here. Even in the middle of a heatwave the evap cooling system worked marvelously. I didn't like it when it was time to leave. We wanted to stay longer but work calls.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Dayton (9/5): Neat, tidy and close to town. - Nice tidy property in a handy location close to the centre of town.

- Madeleine (10/5): We loved our stay! Maryborough was lots of fun and we had a fabulous time exploring. Will definitely be back! - A very cute & cosy cottage! Property had a lot of character and charm. Outdoor area is fantastic - perfect for your pup!
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Katharine (9/5): ideal locations away from the main drag but close enough to walk to all facilities' - Location ideal as friends around the corner the couch
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (8/5): A very cosy stay, met all our expectations, thank you. - Wonderful old cottage, great location and the cottage had all the facilities we required. That the cottage was pet friendly was a real bonus with a secure yard with plenty of space for our little dog to explore. Heating was perfect, warmed the house up quickly. A nice touch with the bottle of wine and chocolates. The bed was a bit squeaky.
- Col (7/5): A quaint old style cottage with updated kitchen. - Central location. Walking distance to the main street, and eateries. Can be cold inside during winter. The property is not centrally heated, but has gas heater and reverse cycle airconditioner in the loung room. Other rooms have portable heaters that are not very effective in larger rooms.
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely cosy cottage, warm and snug even in chilly winter weather. The welcome basket of wine and chocolate was a nice touch too.
- Renae (10/5): Best little cottage ever - Loved all the creature comforts of electric blankets, gas heating and reverse cycle air-conditioning. The cottage is so cute. Loved everything
- Mervi (8/5): Very good - Great location and huge secure yard for our dog. Lots of heating and the wine, chocolates, port and personal welcome was a great welcome. The only issue was the bathroom tiles were moulding but that's an easy fix with a good mould remover.
- Carolina (7/5): Lovely little house for a family. - Electric blankets and clean space Electricity kept shorting.
- Ted (9/5): Superb -
- Candace (7/5): Great location. - Great shower, and heating. Kitchen was big to accommodate a family. Fantastic yard for the dogs. Dust under the beds.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good - Had everything we needed for our stay. Much nicer than staying in a motel. Quiet street close to everything.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Pamela (6/5): Pleasant -
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (9/5): The owner Debbie was a very friendly and helpful host, we can't wait to stay there again. - We stayed for three days and loved every minute of it. the cottage is full of character, very comfortable with thoughtful touches everywhere, including wine and chocolates on arrival, we would love to stay there again. The outdoor furniture and BBQ needed a clean, getting the shower temperature right was a bit of a challenge, but ended up being a good shower. The brickwork surrounding the outdoor furniture needed some attention.
None of these issues spoiled our stay.
- Nicole (9/5): Lovely -
- Faye (10/5): Lovely cottage in a lovely town - Quiet cottage with everything we needed for a two night stay -
- Raymond (9/5): Quaint cottage, well maintained- step back in time - Quaint cottage, well maintained. Comfortable and close to the golf course Search for a house for 5/6, getting a quote, accepting quote and booking and then discovering that I had to pay extra for numbers above 2. Extra costs being $s per person per night
- Deanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Enjoyed our stay there, great to be able to walk to town. - There could have been better heating. it was a very cold weekend . there was no heating in Kitchen.
- Grace (7/5): Good - Location was good. The home was very cold. Insufficient heating.
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay and enjoyed the wonderful location. I would happily return for another visit.
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Stacey (7/5): Good -
- Steve (9/5): Superb - The roominess. Whole 3 bedroom cottage to yourself. Location to city centre. Use as base to explore surrounding area. Everything was great for a house of this vintage.
- Samuel (9/5): Superb - A lovely quiet and spacious place to stay. Small package of supplies on entry was appreciated. Great sized backyard for dog to roam around. Lots of kitchen items available. Smart TV very useful Need a new fan in bathroom :)
- Kathy (9/5): Tradition and history in spades. - We loved staying in a historic style cottage. It was the whole home, clean, warm & well equipped. Position was great too. The goodies basket was a lovely touch. We were happy with everything. Some would expect a dishwasher or an ensuite but it is a quaint old cottage from a different era and we loved it. It has everything you need for a comfortable relaxed holiday.
- Wendy (8/5): Comfy little cottage very close to town. -
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed staying at this cute cottage. We appreciated having access to cooking equipment and a comfortable bed. It was in a quiet location within walking distance to town.
Contact with the owners was excellent. Will stay again.
- Bernie (7/5): Good -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alice (10/5): very enjoying and relaxing at the house - it was very comfortable to come back to after being out most of the day n/a
- Carolyne (8/5): Extremely quite and an ideal location for family to stay while our adult son was in hospital overnight for an op.. - Beautiful antique style.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - Yard for dog.
Homely feel, well furnished.
Close to town. Shower taps hard to maintain constant temperature. Rug in kitchen/dining not safe.
Some essential cooking utensils missing.
- Danielle (8/5): we enjoyed our stay, with a couple of small improvements the place would be almost perfect. - thanks he cottage is very cute. the step down to the back room where the toilet and bathroom is needs and extra step added, itβs too high. my older parents struggled with it. they can handle normal height steps but this on is just too high.
window in the right front bedroom did not close at the top, this needs to be fixed. it was open when we arrived and we could not push it up to close it.
- Megan (7/5): Good - quiet and private and a very quaint property shower needs fixing, water was either freezing cold or scorching hot, no in between, very unpleasant
- Chelsea (5/5): the price point but unfortunately missed the mark . Very narrow driveway , rooms clean but under panels - location- quiet street rustic charm without the charm
doors donβt shut properly
hair in all linen
mould in shower that has no pressure
- Robert (9/5): very good! overall facilities were great. Addition of complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate a nice touch π - lovely old cottage with history, comfortable beds, quite good location shower over bath not good for older clients. Difficult to adjust hot water flow. May need to look at replacing hot water system in the future.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (9/5): Great stay, will definitely stay again - We loved this little cottage. So lovely to see it in mostly original condition but so comfortable! We were warm, had everything that we needed and couldn't have asked for anymore. The location was close to the street yet quiet. Debbie was a great host, and we will definitely be staying there again. Thank you! Maybe a night light to get to the bathroom at night-time would be helpful?
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The property had everything a visitor can ask for..π
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - It was a lovely stay with nice personalised finishing touches I really liked the blackboard with our welcome message on it. Facilities were excellent everything there you need. Very clean, comfy beds with electric blankets.
