Guest Reviews

- Melissa (10/5): We had the most wonderful family catch-up at A Homestead on Market; the hospitality of the hosts, facilities and locatio - Charming, comfortable, well-appointed and conveniently located near the centre of town Nothing!
- Isaac (10/5): Short and sweet, plenty of room for the kids. Very refreshing stay! - Very generous breakfast items. Free range eggs, plenty of bacon and bread or sour dough to go with it. Plenty of condiments also. It was like we were in our own home with all the items you often forget on a short stay, like tea, coffee, milk, vegemite, baked beans, even pancakes. Every aspect of our stay met and exceeded our expectations. It was very nice to have clear communication with the host's Tony and Elizabeth prior to our arrival. We were given a grand tour of the property and learnt a bit of history along the way.
There was nothing that comes to mind that we did not like and would highly recommend this property to others.

- KATHRYN (9/5): Thanks Elizabeth & Tony for a very pleasant experience. - Lovely owners, close to shops/eateries etc, bedrooms were very quiet & well equipped, beds were extremely comfortable. House owners provided many extras (pantry supplies, toys for grandchildren, toiletries) which was not expected. Fireplace would have been excellent for winter ambiance but was very warm with air conditioning.
- Robyn (10/5): Excellent! Can’t think of anything that would have made it better. - Clean
Well situated
Quality towels and bedding and comfortable beds.
Well stocked kitchen.
Plenty of room for our party of 8
Nice outdoor space for the children.
The battery candles were great idea to light the hallway at night.
- Elizabeth (10/5): In Mudgee for a family wedding - loved being able to stay with my family in this beautiful home. - Elizabeth & Tony were there to meet us, making us feel welcomed from the start. The attention to detail was amazing, nothing was lacking. The property felt like a home. N/A
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (8/5): Very good -
- Serena (10/5): Perfect place for a large group - Large and spacious house perfect for a big group. The flowers out the front of the house were absolutely gorgeous!!
- Sue (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): A wonderful family home away from home. - Perfect location, close to town. Very spacious and caters really well for bigger groups (we were 9). The hosts were exceptional in their care and thoughtfulness, down to the socks provided in case it gets cold, and the tour of the place to make sure we could find everything and make ourselves at home. A really lovely stay, we’ll be back. It was perfect, no complaints at all.
- Angela (10/5): A wonderfully comfortable home for a large group of people to share - Everything! Location, the hosts, the layout of the house for a big group, how well stocked the kitchen and pantry were Nothing
- Victor (8/5): Nice family road trip. - The old historic house is beautiful, well renovated and right in the heart of town.
It had all facilities as described and the host was lovely and caring . There were a few issues with bedding . The main bed had large dips either side of the middle of the mattress . It’s well used. Even a mattress flip might be better. The bed 2 mattress was way too soft so our family member slept on the lounge the last night.
The AC can’t be zoned off properly so whilst it is ok in the living areas some bedrooms were either really hot or cold or very noisy in main bed as the in roof unit is not insulated enough. We were there middle of winter so we had to have the heat but perhaps outside winter it’s not an issue . The host warm us and gave us a lesson in the AC issues but on holidays it was probably too much to learn and not sure it would have made a difference. And as per a previous review it is a bit over furnished in some rooms , Normally I wouldn’t review but at $2185 for 3 nights you expect 4/5 stars . It sleeps 10 so heaps of room. We were only five family members but all adults so we needed four beds. I would go back if we had two or three families and split costs but for one family with the issues we had , which could easily be fixed it was over priced for winter midweek . Mid week and middle of winter it’s probably only a $500/$600 a night stay .
