- Brigitte (8/5): A lovely place to stay for our two day stint in Beechworth. Conviently located and cosy. Jo was excellent with some last - Cosy, great location for our stay in Beechworth. It was a little noisy
- Jenna (10/5): -
- Jenny (9/5): Marlo cottage is in a fantastic location! A classic renovation of an historical property with quality appointments and c - Very well appointed and equipped, quality bedding, great location. Having to juggle the parking but I understand!
There was also a repetitive and continuous noise on the roof of the upstairs bedroom , near the high window. Couldn’t sleep! Not sure if something was loose, it was almost like that creaking sound laser light sheeting makes when the sun shines on it, not sure how else to describe it sorry.
- Rod (10/5): - Great location, spotlessly clean, well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds.
- Susan (10/5): “Exceptional property with thoughtful touches, timeless elegance, and flawless presentation - “An exceptional property with thoughtful, personal touches throughout. The timeless elegance, impeccable cleanliness, and perfect location make it truly stand out. It couldn’t be faulted Nothing
- Kathryn (10/5): Excellent place to stay, highly recommend. - A very cute cottage in an excellent location. Right in the centre of town and an easy walk to many tourist locations. The place had everything we needed. There is no oven and the main couch was a bit uncomfortable.
- Michael (10/5): - Loved this cute cottage. Great history. Everything you need and great location.
- Nathalie (10/5): Beautiful stay. - Such a beautiful house & furnishings. It was truely a beautiful place to stay with everything thought of. Well equipped kitchens and bathrooms. Sit on the front verandah with your breakfast & chat with the passersby. Lovely empanada cafe next door & great dinner at the Commerical hotel. We will definitley be back to beachworth & will stay here again.
- Gerald (10/5): Great place. Highly recommended. - Beautiful house with all necessities. Great communication with host, easy to locate and enter. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Fun to sit on the porch and chat with passers-by on the main street. Grocery store directly behind and plenty of shops/restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance. N/A
- Andrea (10/5): - Perfect location in heart of Beechworth.
- Matthew (10/5): -

Niets
- Kenneth (10/5): So central to Beechworth, you can walk to shops and restaurants in 5 minutes. - Everything. Large comfortable house. Unexpectedly modern bathrooms and kitchen. Nil

Great location
We really loved our stay and would definitely stay again!
- Rosaleen (10/5): I don’t believe we could have chosen better. Marlo’s cottage was a delight to stay in for three adu - It was perfect. Three bedrooms with comfy beds, two bathrooms, excellent kitchen and living room, all spotless. The location in the centre of Beechworth amongst cafes and shops was fantastic.
- Sherrie (10/5): Clean, quaint and cozy accommodation in the perfect location. - The beds are comfy, everything you could think of is provided for. Communication is friendly and prompt. The location is excellent and the place smells divine! We loved it, thanks Jo.
- Kyrie (10/5): Marlo was the perfect accommodation for our Beechworth stay and we can highly recommend it to everyone! - Marlo cottage is gorgeous inside and out. It’s been beautifully appointed and smells amazing! From the minute we walked inside I noticed how lovely it smelt, which led me to hunt around to find out where this amazing smell was coming from and hastily Google it to find out where I could buy it!
It’s so much bigger inside than you imagine. The upstairs bedroom is gorgeous and so light filled. It has a lovely en-suite with a nice big deep bath. The bed was so comfy, both my husband and I commented on how well we slept every night.
The decor is perfectly in keeping with the style of the house. It’s in an amazing location in town, everything is in walking distance which makes getting around so easy. Having Bandit, and amazing sandwich bar, right next door was an added bonus!
We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family. There was nothing we didn’t like.
- susan (10/5): Had a wonderful stay at Marlo Cottage could have stayed longer & will definitely recommend to friends & family. - The attention to detail regarding authentic decore, quality items, the wine & chocs on arrival & the location was fantastic.
- SAMANTHA (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful,
Fantastic street location and so much to do In Beechworth.
We will definitely be back .
- Murray (10/5): Great property in a perfect location. - Beautifully clean and well maintained property. The location is perfect and easy walking distance to everything as you are smack bang in the centre of the town. Nothing
- Danielle (10/5): - This accommodation is absolutely first class. Not only is it unbelievably quaint, but it delivers fastidious attention to detail in bringing the history of the cottage to life. We couldn't help but admire how much consideration has gone into providing an authentic period style experience. From the gorgeous antiques to fully equipped kitchen, where nothing, & I mean nothing, has been overlooked, to the personal touches that made our stay in this cottage really memorable. We also loved that we were literally around the corner from Beechworths main street.
- Kelsey (10/5): -
- Toni (10/5): Hidden gem - Loved everything about the cottage. Very clean, close to cafes, grocery store, quiet ideal for a quick getaway or longer. We will definitely be back. Nothing as it was perfect.
- Craig (10/5): Excellent location and overall facilities. - Location was brilliant with easy walking access to everything. All rooms were great size. Spacious lounge and dining. Well appointed kitchen. Parking was confusing but on street was where we left the car. Bit difficult to get to the waste bins. Took a while to warm the cottage up.
- Heidi (10/5): - Perfect location right in the heart of the town.
Lovely and warm when we arrived.
Wine & chocolates on arrival.
The home was beautifully presented.
We plan on staying again.
- Peter (10/5): Very enjoyable - The cottage had everything we needed. The location was brilliant. No problems.
- Brenda (10/5): Only book Ned Kelly's Marlo Cottage, if you want perfection. - WOW!!!!!!
Maybe I just stop there - after all who wants to share perfection, and then not be able to return.
Arrived in Beechworth around 4.30pm - parked outside (car not used again untilI left four days later) and glimpsed my first sight of Ned Kelly’s Marlo Cottage (Built c. 1874).
Behind a wooden slat fence, lay a welcoming verandah, comfy chairs and (not quite) Ned’s head armour - above the entry door in stained glass “Marlo” - you certainly had no doubt that you had arrived.
Opening the door (the home had been readied with lights on, air conditioning lovely and toasty, perfectly clean, and some wine and choccies on a tray in the kitchen), along the hallway to rear and three glorious bedrooms, the Master with ensuite up stairs - where photographer James E. Bray, in what was then his studio, took private photographs of Ned Kelly and his Gang.
I chose one of the lower floor bedrooms located at the front of the home - set with beautiful, period furniture, and amazingly comfortable beds!!
Made the most of “staying” in when not gadding about in Beechworth or partying in Rutherglen. Faultless.
- Narelle (10/5): Highly recommend if you are wanting a true Beechworth experience. - The location is absolutely perfect, the cottage is immaculate with everything you need. The host was an excellent communicator, entering the property was a breeze. Highly recommend. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Daniel (8/5): Good property and if any mishaps occur the owner would help out immediately - Central location Hot water service stopped working on day 2 so no hot water for the rest of our holiday. However, the owner said they could have corrected that immediately if we let them know at the time. That it stopped during the shower suggests a problem with the hot water unit which we could not access
I was surprised that on arrival we received a text saying we couldn’t wear shoes inside. Would have been good to know this at the booking stage.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Fantastic location, well appointed and a fascinating history - Location and amenity Nothing, it was perfect.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Shirley (10/5): Just so charming and conmfortable, A lovely welcome gift from the host as well. So nice. -

- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (10/5): Fantastic location in a beautiful town. We will be returning. - So many little details included to add the both the charm of this old cottage and the luxury of the accommodation. Nothing to dislike at all.

- Grahame (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malliaros (9/5): Great place to stay in a brilliant location -

- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing restoration and great amenities.. cute they had apples, fresh bread and wine waiting for us N/a
- Tim (9/5): Ned Kelly’s Marlo Cottage is amazing - we will be back - Wonderfully appointed property, very comfortable and close to everything in Beechworth. Loved the historic/heritage theming and the information provided by owners. Little touches such as inductive charging pads for phones by the bed typify the attention to detail.
- Cathy (10/5): Blissful Beechworth - Beechworth is a lovely country town & the cottage is located right in the heart of town but on a quiet street, 5 mins walk from the centre. The cottage is delightful and so tastfully decorated with antiques from a bygone era. Every room was spotlessly clean, gorgeous white linen bedding, very comfortable beds, and great bathrooms with lovely toiletries & a very well equipped kitchen.
A welcome hamper of sourdough crumpets, fruit & wine from a local vineyard was such a lovely surprise to find waiting for us on our arrival. We enjoyed sitting in our own courtyard with a glass of wine in the evening before dinner. We also met Jo the manager, and she was so helpful to recommend places to eat & visit during our stay. That we couldn't stay any longer than our 2 nights.
- Geoff (9/5): Superb -
- Marni (10/5): Stunning property in the perfect location - Absolutely everything. This is one of the very best properties I have ever stayed in. We travel a lot! Luxuriously comfortable in an unbeatable location. Highly recommend. Loved it all!

- Madelyn (10/5): Exceptional - The property is beautiful and in an unbeatable location.
- Marian (5/5): Passable - Lock box was hard too see numbers for short person. And hard to get open
- Teagan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful decor, warm and homely and in the perfect location! Nothing
- Peter (9/5): We spent a lovely few days in restful comfort in a convenient location. - It was a peaceful and relaxing break.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a wonderfully central location - The location was wonderful - right in the centre of town so you can walk to everything you need in terms of food (and coffee!) - and the house was both beautiful and comfortable. I loved that it was a traditional cottage with period character but the kitchen and bathrooms were modern and spotless. I was slightly worried about being cold as it was the middle of winter, but the heating was incredibly effective and we were warm and cosy. Thank you very much for the delicious bottle of local wine and the other little extras! We love Beechworth and I have already recommended staying at the Cottage to others. Nothing, we loved it.
- Rae (10/5): Felt like a home away from home - Loved the central location. The cottage was comfortable and had everything you would need for a perfect stay in Beechworth. Due to the location the parking out front had time limits. There are unlimited spots within the next block
- Russell (10/5): Immersion in Australia's History. - The attention to detail in the styling of the cottage, to the thoughtful consideration of what guests would appreciate, was evident from the moment we walked in the door. The perfect venue and location for a couple or adult family to appreciate.
- Alexandra (10/5): Fantastic home, exactly like the pictures, so close to everything. - It was super cozy. It’s exactly like the pictures. It was legitimately a 5 minute wolf from everything. In the picture it shows a car park beside the house but there is no parking there.
- Steph (8/5): Very good -
- Amelia (10/5): Perfect weekend away - Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Came for a girls weekend away and the location was absolutely perfect. Was hard to decide between pottering around town, and snuggling inside where it was warm and cosy. Can't fault it.
- Alexandra (9/5): A lovely rest stop in Beechworth. - The cottage was quite comfy, and had everything we needed and more. Lovely hot water in the shower and nice espresso coffee. It was an easy walk around the corner into town with lots of shops to explore. We enjoyed the little extras left for us to use. The cottage could easily accommodate 3 couples.

Very comfortable and very clean with everything you need for your stay including a beautiful smallish courtyard. - Lisa (10/5): We had the most wonderful and comfortable stay and enjoyed being in part of Beechworths history. Would highly recommen - We loved how the owner had decorated the property in keeping with its era. We were pouring through the bookcase of interesting books to find out more about the house’s history. The light fittings, furnishings, books and decor were beautiful. We had everything we needed both in the property and due to its location we had everything at our doorstep without having to get in the car. Nothing

Coffee shop right next door. Great shopping on the main streets. Fantastic sight seeing, walking trails and for cycling. Such a pretty place to visit. I was a little scared of ghosts, but we were fine and survived our stay. Just a few noises at night that made you go...hmmm. Made for a good story to tell when we got back home. But it is still a great place to stay :o)
- Conrad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Farwester (10/5): Perfect package - There's a reason why Marlo's Cottage is so popular ... it is the perfect package if this kind of centrally located accommodation appeals. We loved the location, the styling, and the way the cottage has been tastefully renovated. We loved that it has everything we could need for a long or short stay. Despite the cbd location, it is very quiet. Beechworth isn't a noisy town anyway but we had thought Marlo's would get noisy at times. It didn't. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance, including next door on both sides. .
- Sharon (10/5): A lovely trip - Incredibly convenient location.
Very spacious and comfortable. I'd love to return.
- Michelle (9/5): Great place to stay just gorgeous, loved the welcoming bottle of wine and snacks - Fabulous location gorgeous interior design and character One couple
thought there bed wasn’t as comfortable as they would have liked
- Sheree (10/5): Definitely lived up to expectations, decorated superbly, comfortable & conveniently located. - Fabulous feel to the cottage, superbly decorated with a nod to its heritage, lovely modern bathrooms, comfortable beds, couldn’t get a better location in town for convenience & experience. It had everything we needed. Nothing we didn’t like.
- Andrea (8/5): Nice house, get in contact before arrival - Lovely old house. The previous (not current) owner’s phone number is associated with the property, online and printed on the front of the property. We had no mobile internet coverage in Beechworth, so we didn’t get the email with details, sent just before we arrived. We were ready to book a room at a nearby hotel by the time we got the lockbox code for the key.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Great place excellent location -
